Amazing hotel

Good location . Verry good food no one got sick.Nice big specious rooms . Great customer service . To bad this will be all adult hotel in the near future. Polls little bit to hot not great for cooling . Kids had lots of fun as the shuttle going in to the other resorts every couple minutes , verry nice kids are with water slides .

Fun times

Hotel is very comfortable. Staff is very friendly. Beach is beautiful. Property is very well kept. AC in the rooms works really well, best I've experienced in an island location. Only downside is that you have to get up early to reserve chairs.

Beautiful resort

Pros: The grounds and room were beautiful and spacious. Everything is within a short walk from your room -beach, pool, and restaurants. There was a leak in our bathroom and it was fixed quickly. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Requesting scented pillows was a treat. Shuttle to access the other joining resorts was convenient. Cons: the restaurants, pool and bars close early, pool is very warm, room wasn't always cleaned till later in the day

Great Resort

Great Resort, has everything you could need or want! The beach is fantastic and the water was crystal clear. The variety of food on the buffet is the best that I have seen so far. Looking forward to returning to this resort someday soon!!!!!!!

Resort is beautiful but has some key issues.

The rooms are nice, resort is beautiful. The beach is beautiful. Very difficult to get reservations at A la carte restaurants. We arrived late around 9:30 pm by the time we checked in all the restaurants were closed at 10pm. Ordered room service and was told it would be 45 mins, it took 2 hours. Since we arrived so late we weren't leaving for the airport until 5pm on the day of departure. It was unbelievable the amount of run around getting a late check out. We had 23 ppl and 10 rooms a [... read more]nd hand to argue with staff for over an hour for 3 rooms for a late check out. In the end we got 3 rooms for 24 ppl with a late check out of 2pm instead of noon, even thought staff admitted that the Air Canada ppl coming in wouldn't get there until 930pm like we did.

What we expected

We were a family of 4, and we really enjoyed evreything, just one thing the bahia is huge and good thing they have the minibus to take you from site to site, food service and cleanliness is very good, i recommand this hotel

Best Resort for the Money!

Everything about this hotel is incredible!! Impeccable grounds, beach, rooms and service. Super friendly waiters. If I could, I would give if a 5 1/2 stars!!! I'm going back next year. Only warning, if you like being close to the beach, make sure your room is too as it's a very long walk or take tram.

A beautiful resort

Everything went very smooth, from booking with trip central till the time we arrived home. An excellent resort, we will go back for sure. A very relaxing vacation. There is really nothing to improve upon.

Spectacular Resort

This resort is absolutely amazing! Without a second thought, I rate it to be a 5 Star Plus..The grounds are immaculate, the rooms are large, very clean and with housekeeping twice daily. The restaurants have plenty of variety and theme night daily. You will never go hungry from lack of food.Our beach was simply gorgeous, little to no seaweed and plenty of shaded areas for everyone. Also smiling and making you feel right at home. I couldn't say enough wonderful things about our week at the Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda, other than, I and our traveling friends will diffidently go back.

Wonderful resort super kid friendly

We had an excellent time at Esmerelda. Great food great drinks and nice rooms. The Japanese restaurant and the garden grill were amazing. The Italian was a little lack lustre. Overall we had an amazing time.

A WEEK IN PARADISE

WE STAYED THE WEEK OF MAY 13TH, 2016. WE HAD VISITED SEVERAL BAHIA RESORTS IN THE SOUTH, BUT THIS WAS THE VERY BEST. FOOD AND DRINKS WERE GREAT. ROOM LOCATION IN BUILDING 90 WAS WHAT WE ASKED FOR. .WE HAD DINNER IN 5 SPECIALTY RESTAURANTS ALL WERE EXCELLENT. TRANSPORTATION AROUND THE RESORT, IS VERY EFFICIENT AND CONVENIENT.WE INTEND TO COME BACK TO THIS RESORT ANOTHER TIME.

Grounds were bigger than we had expected. Our hotel (luxury bahia principe esmeralda) was small which was very nice. The food was food but certainly not great. The beach-like pool was fantastic for children and if you're willing to make the trek up to the kids water park it's definitely worth it for an afternoon or morning. The entire staff were incredibly friendly and extremely nice to the kids, we were impressed with their attention to kids.

Great family getaway!

Overall... Was a wonderful place! The hotel was fabulous! Very spacious & clean. The pools, foods, drinks & the staff were all fabulous. A little bit short of entertainment day & night. The mode of transportation around different resorts were fun & handy! The a la carte was quite of a disappointment! Mostly fully booked! So whatever is left we took it. Amazing Adult/Family Resort

Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda Resort is great. As part of the bahia compund there are about 5 resorts ( 2 luxury and 3 grand) plus 1 more that is under construction. Having access to all resorts is amazing. They have activities for adults and children all day. While we were they rumors is that they will be converting the Esmeralda to an exclusive all adults resort by Nov 2016. Beautiful Resort

Rooms were great, food atmosphere and staff all very good. The beach was beautiful and number of pool options allowed something for everyone. Especially enjoyed the adult pool and bar, drinks were mixed well

Beautiful resort, amazing people!!!!

I've travelled a lot but this was my first time to Dominican and first time with this resort. We had our wedding there. Food was wonderful, grounds were spectacular, by far most cleanest place i've ever stayed. Beach was phenomenal. Couldn't have picked a better place for us and our thirty guests to stay. Was well worth the money. Resort offers much to do so you won't be bored. it's great for a romantic getaway for two or a group or family. Definitely would go back.

Wonderful resort!

I've been to dozens of resorts and this was by far the cleanest of them all, beautiful grounds, great food, friendly staff... The beach was absolutely beautiful, the grounds men would been cleaning up the sand constantly. I recommend the Japanese restaurant as it was something els..

Amazing resort

We were there for our friends wedding! Resort was absolutely beautiful! The staff were amazing especially the General Manager Maria! Food was amazing with a large selection! Pools and grounds were top notch! Everything you'd want in a resort! Would highly recommend and we will return!

Beautiful resort

The hotel was beautiful, the staff was awesome. The beach was beautiful and had lots of seating and I like they're no savings seats policy which is how it should be everywhere. I went scuba diving just off the beach where they have a pretty cool shipwreck about 300 metres offshore. A few things I didn't like was they had one bar in the lobby open after 10ish which could get crowded and make it impossible to get a drink and also that the beer in the fridge wasn't stocked daily. It was stocked on  [... read more]the first day and nothing after that. It was a huge resort and we didn't see most of it but the main area that housed the disco was a blast. Good music, good nightclub atmosphere. The rooms were clean, food was good, and drink selection was excellent.

Beautiful, clean resort!

This has been one of the best hotels I have been to so far. The room was bigger and better than i expected. Very spa like bathroom. The only con i would say was the fact that they misplaced our luggage upon arriving to the resort and the rooms weren't ready for some of us. They did find our luggage shortly after. All in all it was kept very clean and was a great stay overall :) I would def recommend it.
