Riu Playa Blanca: Nice resort

Hotel is okay. Staff need to know more English for proper communication as this is a tourist location. Not a 5 star as indicated. Facility is clean. Food is good only for those who eats everything and does not have restrictions.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great resort!

I was at the Riu Playa blanca for a week with family members. In a nutshell, we had a great time. Note that the hotel is almost 2 hours away from Panama city. The beach, the pool and service was fantastic.

This hotel was really great , 24 hours they are cleaning , room was great , entertaining for kid and adult during day and night was really good ,stuff was really friendly and helpful, food was good ,definitely I recommend it.

Riu Playa Blanca: very hospitable resort

The staff was very friendly and attentive, especially in the dining area. Delicious food and great salad bar and desserts. I really enjoyed the fresh juices in mornings. The rooms are big and airy. The beds were comfortable. Everywhere was quite clean. I appreciated the drying rack on the balcony and the hooks in the bathroom. If the bath/shower combination was a little easier to get into, it would've been perfect for me.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great overall trip, Beware of Sunwing though

The hotel was probably the cleanest I've been to "down south". Beach sand coarse and water was a little rocky. Not the same smoothness as Dominican or Mexico beach. Food was slightly above average, and some great variety. Staff was pleasant and the resort wasn't super packed. 2hrs from Downtown Panama which was too far for us to do the excursions, as we didn't want to spend 4 hours in a car. There is no smoking (other than a small area) which I don't mind, but the bars are far from the beac [... read more]h. They are chincy with bottled water so make sure you stock up! Two bottles every 2 days unless you go to reception and ask. The only real downside was Sunwing. Beware that the Rio Hato airport has no food. It is only 10 min to the resort, but Sunwing was just awful. Delay after delay after flight cancellation. Maybe we just has bad luck, but the communication from Sunwing was just as bad as the delay itself. Having to wait at an airport with no shops, food, or really anything was not good.

Such a nice and very clean resort. The staff was very friendly!! The room was very very nice and the cleaning ladies washed our floors when they’d make up our room during the week. There was always staff cleaning throughout the whole resort. Everything was easy to find! The food was good the only thing was that some things we would have liked to eat we didn’t as some things seemed to be harder to keep fresh as it is very very hot in Panama! The only things that I would have to say that was not so great were that on the weekends the resort filled up with locals and areas were very very busy and our room was on the 5th floor with a wonderful view but the disco was very loud and woke me up a couple times a night! (We’re not big party people)

Grand Decameron Panama: Awesome Resort !

The resort was awesome! It was a lot bigger than we expected but it was the cleanest resort we have ever been to. It had the most beautiful restaurants ! The only thing that i found was that they couldn't speak a lot of English! The grounds were beautiful ! The Panama canal is out of this world amazing!

Riu Playa Blanca: Panama is AMAZING!!

The people that work at this resort are fantastic and did their best to fix any problems that we had. The weather has always been HOT and sunny and we couldn't ask for more. The food at the buffet is good, but like any other resort it is repetitive. Riu Playa Blanca also has 3 a la carte restaurants and the food there is great. There are 3 pools plus a kids pool/area. My only complaint is the small kids that were always screaming and splashing in the ADULT ONLY swim up bar pool, management needs [... read more] to post a sign that states that pool is for anyone over 16. Booking with Tripcentral is the only way to go!!! We will more than likely go to this resort again!!

Riu Playa Blanca: Really good for the money

Hotel was very modern and clean! Staff was very friendly !!!! Night shows were very good and the food was amazing! The steak house was legit!!!! The sushi was really tastey and the Italian pasta was on point! The disco was small but good! Quiet a lot of children at this resort! And the only this we didn’t like was that yes there was a 24hrs snack bar but it was all cold pre cooked stuff and was Limited to fruit, hamburgers and nacho chips with hot cheese!!! However we WOULD go back for sure!!!

Grand Decameron Panama: Not my favourite

-The resort required a lot of walking on hills and stairs -They have peacocks on the resort that made horrible and loud noises at all times of the day and night which made it difficult to sleep -There was not enough umbrellas or shaded areas - I traveled with two other friends and every single one of us got really sick from the food and this lasted over 24 hours -The food was not fresh/cold, it was not hot, they lacked variety of food which made everything very unappealing to eat - at certai [... read more]n locations you knew that food had been sitting out for very long periods of time -You had to book the restaurants in advance which is fine, and you could only book 3 days at a time, but, even if you went early in the morning to book it you were not presented with a lot of time options. We therefore didn't even get to try 3 of the restaurants as a result -You have to pay extra to use a safe, you have to pay extra to have your fridge stocked

Riu Playa Blanca: The name Riu spells quality for me. Great management with an amazing staff.

The Riu Playa Blanca is a well run resort. The grounds are well kept. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean beginning with the rooms, halls, washrooms and restaurants. This was my second stay at this resort. I have also stayed with this chain in Costa Rica and Jamaica.. This resort is about 10 minutes from the airport at Rio Hato. More vacation time at the resort and less time on the bus and at the airport. Customs processing here goes rather quickly as compared to some other destinations. [... read more] The restaurants and buffet here are very good. The chefs here put out some very delicious meals. Lots of fresh fruit, vegetables and baked goods. I especially enjoyed their lamb and fish. It is a real treat to be clapped in by staff when entering the buffet. Service was also good at the various bars. The view from the lobby bar is amazing. Booked this trip with Trip Central and flew Sunwing. Jackson and the Sunwing team are very helpful towards helping with problems and trip arrangements. Last year I went to Panama City and to the Canal. This year I did a day trip to the provincial capital to sightsee and shop. Very good service from Trip Central as well.

Grand Decameron Panama: Family friendly resort

Resort is literally minutes away from the airport...you can see the incoming planes right before they land LOL. But planes are few and far between so they don't constantly fly by. Very clean grounds, lots of maintenance staff and room attendants. We had a problem with the toilet and someone came to fix it within 5 minutes. Food is decent but do go to the a la carte, they are very good (especially the seafood and mediteranean) Predominately Spanish speaking resort but also French and Engli [... read more]sh. We heard about the upgrade (all inclusive plus) but wanted to wait until there to check it out. Advantages : priority for a la carte, Wi-Fi in your room and not just in lobby area, access to 2 pools reserved for members and upgraded drink selection. All this to say, we didn't take it. We stayed in building 16, 2 buildings over from Lobby 1, and we had Wi-Fi in our room, no problem. The 2 upgrade pools had nobody there all the times we walked by. If you asked for Smirnoff instead of their vodka, you'd get it. The disco played 98% Spanish music, so don't expect top 20 hip hop from North America. It definitely helps if you speak a little Spanish , if not there's always Google translate LOL. A little market and little town 5 minutes walking distance away, so you can grab beer/alcohol/food for your room if so desired. We went to Nico's beach bar, twice, and met the owner Phillipo and his wife and kid. Very friendly people from Italy, been there for 5+ years and the 1st night he lent us his laptop to watch playoff hockey. We returned 2 days later and it was plugged in to the big screen tv on the wall. Swim in the ocean between intermission, incredible ceviche and Panamanian beers later, we had a great time off resort. He even gave us a ride back in his golf cart because it was later at night. Driving down the street in a golf cart, with Chico his dog, you had to be there LOL. Don't go there expecting a party like Cancun or Varadero, but a nice relaxing vacation in 35+ C / 95 F weather. There are no swim up bars, as I said it's a family friendly resort.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great Resort

Very clean hotel, minutes from the airport. The rooms were very nice. The food in the buffet was good with a great selection. We liked that we did not have to make reservations to dine in the 3 restaurants on site.

Westin Playa Bonita: It is good hotel for short time stay.

Hotel very good and fashion designed with big and nice room. Outside area and pool area very beautiful but beach and especially water in ocean is offal and it is not possible to swim at all. Service in generally is OK. At evening, there is not any place for entertainment except one bar with watching sport game in Spanish .So, this hotel is good for short stay not like for all inclusive 7 days vacation.

Riu Playa Blanca: Nice Resort - Disappointing Beach and Weekend population

Resort was very nice, rooms were spacious, grounds kept nice, food was good. Pool turns bathing suits green. Beach was not as picture shows, black and too hot to even be on most of the time. Most disappointing was that it seemed they opened the doors to additional locals just for the weekend, everything on Sat & Sun was too busy and crowded, a very different crowd. Shows were very loud, if you want a quiet night - request a room away from the theater and Ocean View rooms are not typical, you ca [... read more]n see the ocean but you are not facing it or even near it in most cases. Good time, but more disappointments than positives. I would probably stay at another Riu but if they're open for the weekend to anyone, perhaps not.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great trip but not what we expected

Although we had a great time with our friends that came with us on our vacay the riu did not stand up to it’s five star rating to us. We have been quiet a few all inclusives now and this was bi far the smallest. Also on day three they opened up the resort to locals for night stays and day passes so we couldn’t get a drink at the bar or even sit In the pool as there was just so many people.this was our first trip that on day 6 we were ready to come home this isn’t really the place to go if you want to keep busy and have a good time although the food was great everyday it never changed . I won’t be going back if this is what they consider a five star I would hate to see what a 4 star looks like

Grand Decameron Panama: Amazing Resort

The Royal Decameron Panama was the perfect place for our girls' week. I am not normally a resort person but this place has converted me. Everything was better than expected. Beach was amazing, food was always fresh and delicious, grounds well maintained, rooms clean and comfortable and the staff were fantastic. We are already planning our next trip.

Bijao Beach Resort: Love this place

From the time you walk to desk to time you leave...you feel welcomed and apart of family. We are well taken care of...very friendly staff..clean resort well maintained..rooms are well kept. I have nothing but love for this resort. The entertainment staff is great...they work hard to get people involved in activities.. laughing joking around making best of your days...Dio..Cristian are top notch.. The food was good...always something for anyone..the pool/beach snak bar always has hot dogs n hamb [... read more]urgers...it would be nice to have a change up like wings or something different,but it was good. Cant wait for next year. We dont normally return to same place...but 2ys in a row this is our home away from home..we will be back for a third. This is a uniquely relaxing resort..always a chair available...cant say enough .

Riu Playa Blanca: Lovely hotel

The rooms are spacious and the decor appears to be new. The hotel is well maintained and there was never any shortage of towels and the fridge was well stocked with refreshments. There are plenty of loungers available at the beach but you need to get up early to grab one in the shade poolside. The buffet is your best option for meals and provides the most options. The entertainment could use some improvement. Otherwise an excellent hotel.
