Sandals Grande St Lucian: Amazing Honeymoon!

My wife and I spent a week at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian and were extremely happy with our experience. Even though the bus ride to the resort is a bit long, the views are incredible and the time passes fairly quickly. Once at the resort, we were instantly greeted with a glass of champagne and check in was very smooth. Quick Breakdown: Beach & Pools The resort is not very big so the beach and pools are steps away, which is nice. Can be challenging to get a spot with cover, especially at the main pool so we usually posted up shop at the quieter pool and would head over to the main pool when we were looking to grab a drink & mingle. Overall, no complaints about the beach and pool areas! Food: The food was great and exceeding my expectations. We booked reservations for all 3 restaurants (Indian, Hibachi & Gordon's) and all were fantastic. We had no issues getting a table at any of the other restaurants with no reservation required, since there are so many options at the resort none of them every appeared to be very busy. The lunch options were very good as well, we liked the Jerk Shack and The Mariner had great options as well. Only meal were weren't really a fan of was the Monday Night Beach Party buffet. Many of the restaurants are closed Monday's but some are still open and I would recommend eating there for dinner instead. Service: Both my wife and I found the service to be excellent at this resort and we weren't even Club Level. The front desk would call throughout the week and make sure we were enjoying our stay, the server's were all very friendly and we never met anyone who was rude or tough to deal with. When we were booking this trip, I read some reviews saying the service was slow. We only encountered a few times where this occurred and even then it wasn't that bad at all. You have to remember everybody is on island time! Rooms: We stayed in the Lover's Lagoon Honeymoon rooms. For the price we paid for the week I maybe expected a little more, the room was your average hotel room, nothing very special. However, it was very clean and the bathroom was nice. These specific rooms are some of the cheaper options at the resort so I'm sure if you wanted more elegance you could pay for it. We were basically only in the room to sleep and shower so it was definitely more then adequate for what we needed. I would highly recommend booking JJ's Speedboat Tour! It was an amazing excursion and a great way to see the Caribbean side of the island. We had "No Problem" as our guide and he made the day so much fun and was worth the price of the day trip in itself. Another nice thing is your back at the resort around 2:30 pm to keep the party going at the swim up bar. We also hiked up Pigeon Island which is very close to the resort and provided amazing views of the island. Overall, Sandals Grande was an amazing trip and I would recommend this resort, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion (honeymoon, anniversary, etc.)

Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: Excellent time!

Beautiful and lush grounds. Friendly and helpful staff. The food options and water sports were great for the kids. An older crowd and smaller beach then we are used to in Cuba but no complaints. Excursions were pricey though.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Excellent Resort

Very clean, staff very polite and looked very happy, good food and very nice atmosphere. Good entertainment they should have variety of music not only reggae music, couple can not dance on reggae music they should have some slow dance music, Cha Cha Cha which more soothing and romantic rather than all the time very loud music. Windjammer Landing: Dream vacation

The resort was unique and beautiful. All those beautiful villas up the mountain side overlooking the Caribbean ocean!!! Amazing views!!! And the complimentary shuttle drives up and down the mountain we’re an adventure with scenic views. The staff are all very helpful, friendly and polite. The food was amazing at the restaurants and if you like fresh fish this is the place for you....I think we had the catch of the day at least once a day. I loved the daily soups too. The beach was lovely. [... read more]..I wish I was still there.😎🌴🌞 the perfect resort to unwind and reconnect. It was a little more than we like to spend on a vacation but loved it anyway. Coconut Bay Resort & Spa: A must for a family vacation

Coconut bay resort in St. Lucia is a must travel to destination. The resort has something for everyone. Although it looks a little dated, the friendliness, the food, the cleanliness and the service make up for it. Excellent vacation location for families.

Sandals Halcyon Beach: Sandals Halcyon review

We have been to Sandals Halcyon 7 times, since 2000. The resort is wonderful because of the staff and smaller size. Renovations are complete now and give it a very fresh feel. The food,beach,pools and drinks are everything we ever wanted from a resort.Our agent Nicole Deforest was so helpful and friendly for our last booking, we used her again for our next trip. Rex St Lucian: Staff is very friendly but resort itself is awful

The resort is very outdated. Felt like we stayed at a cheap motel. Room was very damp leaving the bed feeling wet and the sheets smelled musty like they never changed the sheets before we checked in. We actually had to ask them to change the sheets because it was so hard to sleep in without gagging. The showers were cold and the shower curtain had an awful smell. There were stains all over the washroom. We asked to have the washroom and room refreshed as the smell was so bad but nothing was done [... read more]. Our TV literally turned on and off by itself freaking out my husband LOL (found it funny but quite annoying). The grounds of the resort was pretty but again outdated. We liked that the resort was small and close to everything but there is not much to do at this resort. No entertainment at all except for the hour of entertainment at night in the lobby. Staff at the buffet and restaurants were amazing, very friendly. The food at the buffet was good, small selection which is good so there isn't much wastage. The Oriental restaurant was good but the Italian restaurant was not good at all, well at least to our taste. I couldn't wait to leave the resort due to the poor state of our room, I could not wait to get home to have a hot shower and sleep in a clean bed.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Not quite 5 star

The hotel feels and looks still new; the staff are kind and helpful; the beach was adequate; and the food was better than average. However, I’d give the Hideaway at Royalton St Lucia lower marks for the following: The trip from airport to resort is 2 hours up and down hills, switchbacks, and through heavy local traffic; and, the bus had no music and no interpretive presentation to learn about the island and pass the time. The Hideaway lobby is hum drum, nothing about it makes you feel special [... read more]. By the time we arrived (about 7:30pm) our butler had left for the day (shift ends at 7:00pm), so no special orientation was given about our guestroom nor the resort. The Diamond Club service/butlers were slow to respond initially, but then things got better as the week went on. One of our party was not given his butler phone for 2 days, despite celebrating his 50th Bday the next day of arrival. Don’t bother saying what special occasion is that you’re celebrating as you won’t get any recognition unless you buy the hotel’s Birthday Package. The adult Beach area is unacceptable - everyone is squished into the North end of the beach with hardly any sand space and the shallowest of water (thigh deep). Any real swimming needs to be had in the family section. The beach chair covers and umbrellas were left torn and or broken for days, or not repaired at all. The beach was never combed for garbage (fruit chunks, banana peels, rib bones)in the adult area. Unfettered feeding of fish with people food in the shallow waters made it feel like swimming in a stew. The coffee machine in the Diamond club lounge was incomprehensible, even some staff did not know how to use it. There were never any serviettes with the snack service in the Diamond lounge. Liquor bottles were left sticky. Dorado restaurant for Diamond Club members was lovely; however twice we encountered serious frustration from the servers in the Grazzie and Tex Mex restaurants. The Martini bar (main bar off the entertainment area) ran out of martini glasses on a Saturday night - not cool. The entertainment troop is talented and professional, although watching the same performers 7 nights in a row gets a little repetitive despite the varying dance numbers. Sometimes the pre-show performances were better. The excursion to the Pitons, mud bath, snorkeling and waterfall was ok, but I expected more. The mud bath is very small, and very crowded, again like a human stew. The snorkeling was below par as it took place off a beach rather than at a genuine reef. The waterfall was also very small and overcrowded - no wow factor. Lunch in Soufriere was very good however. You won’t miss much if you don’t go on this tour. The trip back to the airport again takes 2 hours. Going home, the bus picks you up at Noon, and the buffet doesn’t open for lunch until 12:30. How convenient for the hotel to save on the cost of a box lunch for our upcoming 2 hour voyage back to the airport. Paid too much for this trip.

Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: Great resort

This resort gives you value at a reasonable cost. The services were excellent and the staff outstanding, always smiling, friendly and helpful. The dining offered good selection in a variety of restaurants. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Daily activities were available in at least one of three pools and on the beach.

Starfish Saint Lucia: Good overall resort

The hotel was older but well maintained. Nice and close to the beach and walking distance to shopping mall and stores. Easy to catch a bus to the city for shopping as well. The entertainment was minimal. Although the food was good, it was never really hot. The pool is shallow all round, no deep end and doesn't open till 9 am. More importantly is that the airport shuttles did not recognize the name "Starfish" Resort, they knew it only as the old name which is still on the building as "Papillon [... read more]" which meant that I and some other people got suckered into paying 85-90 US dollars for a cab to get to the resort that was 1.5 hrs away from the airport while other people managed to find the shuttle to get there.

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Nice resort but not worth the extra club for the Diamond Club

The hotel is very nice BUT, we paid extra to stay in the Diamond Club and you don't get your money's worth. Food at buffet was ok, meals at restaurants were great, room service food was horrible. We booked a king size bed but got 2 queens and because the TV was mounted so far from the beds, we couldn't watch it properly. There was no TV mount to pull it out and swivel it so we could see it. Beds were hard, no pillow top. Pillows were flat and hard but you could upgrade in the Diamond Club so  [... read more]we did that. Beach are was supposed to be reserved for us in that area but other people came from other parts of the resort early in the day and took the chairs on the beach and stayed there. It was not patrolled for that. Men trying to sell you excursions was incessant and would not leave you alone. Pool on the end of the building where we stayed in the Junior Suite does not get sun so it's freezing all the time. Like doing a polar bear dip. Curtains were hanging off the sliding doors and there was a huge rip in the screen door. Bar/fridge ares there's only beer, water, pop and juice.......no alcohol other than that in the room and no snacks like other resorts. You had to leave your room and go out for other alcohol and buy things yourself like pretzels, chips, peanuts, etc. For the Diamond Club.......you sure don't get luxury. I've spent $2000 less and got a more luxurious room in Mexico.

Coconut Bay Resort & Spa: Excellent resort

The hotel is a little outdated but it’s clean and a amazing staff ,polite and very helpful . The best part is Vernon the yoga teacher ,it’s worth the stay there just to have one session with him . The rooms are spacious and very clean. Many activities for family ,one side for children and another side for adults only .many pools and very good entertainment .Hope I will go back next year FOOD IN THE RESAURANT ARE EXCELENT

Stolen Time Saint Lucia: Peace and Quiet

The Rendezvous is a great place if you want that true get away and being taken care of! The property is small, beautifully landscaped and well maintained. What made this place special was the high quality food in all three restaurants and the staff. Some of the staff asked your name and greeted you as a friend which made the stay really enjoyable. There was plenty of organized actives if you wanted to participate or if you wanted to sit at the pool or beach and have someone serve you drinks ( [... read more] fruit, popsicles, coconuts ect..) all day, you had lots of options. The Rendezvous is about an hour and 15 mins drive away from the main airport on a roller-coaster road. It is about a 10 min easy walk to the cruise port of Castries if you are into local shopping. The property is at the end of the local small airport strip ( about 5-8 planes a day). The average age of the guests is about 60-75yrs old so if you are under 30 this is not for you. Our favorite was the Champagne Bar which was open from 7-8pm so it was fun to meet other guests and have a dinner reservation at 8pm.

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort and friendly staff.

Very clean and beautiful. The staff were all friendly and went out of their way for us. The best staff we encountered were Jackie, Richard Marks and the young male bartender at Dips(sorry can't remember his name!). Everyone else was still great, but these 3 stood out for me. They had lots of shade options both on the beach at all the pools. The entertainment was good, with some real surprises. Mystique St. Lucia by Royalton: Paradise Found

Travelled with my wife first week of November 2018 with Air Canada Vacations from Toronto. We are both in our late 40's. Firstly, Air Canada Rouge can use some help. There are no USB connections on the plane and no screens to watch a movie and it's a five hour flight to St. Lucia. The flight attendants were terrific though. There's no way our cell phone batteries could last that long watching one or two movies for the flight. Dear Air Canada, I'll gladly pay one dollar extra if you will put US [... read more]B ports on the arm rests. It's nearly a two hour drive from the airport at the far South end of this small island to most of the resorts in the North end. So if you know and expect that, it's a non-issue. They drive on the left side rather than the right like us in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada. If you prefer, we were quoted $185US each for a 10 mintue helicopter ride instead of the drive. The drive IS scenic though. The hotel was spectacular. Absolutely beautiful and under 100 rooms. One main building with three floors. Check-in and later out was a breeze. They offered rum punch and champagne upon arrival and carried our bags to the room. Room tip, stay on the second or third floor rather than the main floor if you like to sit on your balcony with coffee in the morning or something stronger in the afternoon since you have views of the beach and ocean. The ground floor offers the ability to walk out to the pool and beach etc from your sliding glass door. There is no (alarm) clock in the bedroom so if you like to know the time at night, bring one. And there were no North American electrical outlets in the bedroom so bring a converter. There is a N. American outlet in the living room area. Our room (2218) was on the second floor and had a huge King bed, large bath with tub and shower, and a separate sitting room with tv leading to the balcony. Very nice room! The beach is the best on the island. Just stunning.....no rocks, coral or seaweed. The beach vendors pretty much leave you alone although whenever a cruiseship is in port, this is the "go-to" beach and it is something to watch the locals set up beach chairs and umbrellas on either side of the hotel's side of the beach and watch them hustle the cruisers. Quite entertaining. Currency is EC (Eastern Caribbean) and US. We only brought US and were fine everywhere. We seldon used the pool which looked wonderful and clean. The ocean was just too compelling and fun. The swim-up bar is terrific and fun. The sand was wonderful and warm. Staff: This had to be a highlight for us. From the guy that cleaned the pool and cleaned the grounds to the top of management, most knew our first names within a day or two and all were warm and welcoming. Kudos to management! Bar staff knew our drinks before we ordered on day 2. WOW. I am not one to do those "shout-outs" to individual staff so I won't, but, I must say EVERY single employee went way out of their way to ensure we were happy. Management/Ownership deserve kudos for their hiring and training. We have travelled to many places that could use customer-service tips from this hotel. Food: In one word, terrific. There really are only two restaurants. The Chic, is fine food and fancy but you only get one dinner there for a week. There were several menu items that were an extra cost even if you were all-inclusive. Oh, forgot to mention there is a mix of guests there with the all-inclusive package and pay as you go style. Within a day, staff knew we were all-inclusive so everything is included, except premium booze. The other restaurant is L'epicure, and that is all three daily meals and not fancy. We wore shorts/slacks and button shirts at dinner but bathing suit and t shirt at lunch. It is buffet breakfast but menu lunch and dinner. The food is terrific, if you go hungry here, you are too picky. There are numerous choices. There is also "Mahi's" on the beach between the pool and beach. They serve lunch only and drinks and is quite small, not intended for a "sit-down" type lunch but perfect if you want something quick rather than sitting in L'epicure restaurant. Crab cakes and fish and chips were the best we've ever had. Entertainment: Well in fairness, we travelled early November which is near the end of the rainy season and at the very beginning of the busy season. So there was no entertainment at night. At first, that seemed so quiet each evening, but later, we grew to like the peace and quiet. We understand that once the busy season comes that they have nightly entertainment, but there is no "club" and no stage so I can't suggest there are the big productions like in the Mayan Riviera 5 star hotels. But then this is a smaller property and not intended for noisy nights. We liked that it was quiet. On that note, you are a five minute walk to a strip of "clubs" that pump out lots of base at night, so if you like that, it's close. And on a note about safety, we felt very safe walking outside of the hotel day and night. We often walked to the small town about five minutes away and had no issues. Excursions: We only did one, the "Sea and sea" catamaran. They picked us up at reception, drove us ten minutes to the marina and we boarded. Very picturesque sail for two hours to Soufriere where we took a bus to the mud baths. That was an experience! Tons of fun. You can option for the drive-in volcano instead of the mud bath if you prefer. Toured local nature and had a wonderful lunch. Then back to the catamaran and a cruise to a secluded bay and some snorkelling. There were several locals on small kayaks the captain said to ignore. We chose to ignore the captain and one of the locals in the kayak allowed us to hold on to a rope trailing behind him and he pulled us over a reef. What a fantastic view. My wife is the lesser of the two of us for adventure and is not usually interested in snorkelling but even she loved the ride. The views of the reef and the fish etc. were spectacular. The kayak returned us to our catamaran and we tipped him $10US. We highly recommend you ignore the captain and do this. We were returned to our hotel about 4pm. We had left at 8am. Long day and lots of free beer or rum punch onboard the catamaran. Word to the wise, go easy on the rum punch, it has a habit of sneaking up on you since it goes down so easily. There are lots of other excursions, all with their own appeal. We just chose to hang out at our own beach and the ocean. Book them at the hotel or tour rep. There are lots of car and scooter rental places and the island is so safe you could likely rent and drive yourself around and actually pay the entry fee to the mud baths or drive in volcano. At our hotel, the beach chairs and umbrellas are free and only for hotel guests. So the cruiseship people are not allowed and hotel security is ever-present on the beach to ensure that. There are no trees on the beach so a little shade may be welcome with the cool straw umbrellas. To sum up, if you are looking for a five star property on a spectacular beach, very clean with warm and professional staff, this place is for you. Food is terrific and we had a lot of fun. We will be back.

BodyHoliday Saint Lucia: Incredible Experience

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Truly exceptional getaway!

This was a great vacation, and our first time to St. Lucia. I can't say enough great things! I highly recommend this resort. Don't listen to any bad reviews you read.... honestly, people are crazy. This place was great! Location: Worth the drive. If you don't do well on bumpy roads, dear gosh bring some gravol. It was a life saver. About 90 minutes (without traffic) from the airport to the hotel. Beautiful views, totally worth it. Resort: Beautiful resort, it's relatively new and it show [... read more]s. Very modern. After a day we had the layout downpact and it was easy to get to everything, nothings that far of a walk. Rooms: We stayed in building #3 (hideaway), which is arguably the worst hideaway building because it's closest to the rest of the resort... but that honestly wasn't an issue. Our room was spacious and modern. We had a leaky ceiling, but it leaked into the bath tub, so we really didn't care (and it got fixed by housekeeping notifying maintenance, we didn't have to do anything). Our iron didn't work, but that got replaced as soon as we notified staff. Some of the US plugs in our room didn't work for our devices (i.e., straighter didn't plug in because it wasn't two skinny prongs). FYI! I have to say, I hated the bathroom layout.... it was odd having it all open, but wasn't really that big of a deal. Nice big balcony. My BIGGEST complaint, and realistically my ONLY complaint was that since ALL the rooms face inward technically all rooms are an ocean view.... we paid extra for an ocean view, and quite frankly I felt like that was a bit of a rip off. Apparently lower floors are garden view, and upper floors are ocean view... Not worth it. I also rarely saw people in their swim out room pools... most of them stayed shaded all day, or were pretty open to other guests (they're all attached). I was glad we didn't pay for that upgrade. The other complaint I have (... okay, 2 complaints total), would be evening noise. Two of our 7 nights we had music blasting until 1030/11pm, which was a little ridiculous. The stage is in the middle of the resort, which is aesthetically nice, but logically the worst idea ever. With our balcony doors closed, and TV up relatively loudly we could not drown out the noise. If you have small children, or want to sleep before 10pm.... it wasn't happening. One night we were exhausted, and wanted to sleep at 10, and absolutely could not. Frustrating. Food: UNBELIEVABLY GOOD. Wow. All of the restaurants were amazing. Great staff, great selection, good quality. We visited each restaurant at least once (with the exception of the Calypso restaurant, as we aren't huge seafood people). We often went to the buffet or Italian for lunch, and we did the tex mex for dinner twice because it was so good. We never had to wait for a table, and service was as quick as a regular restaurant. The buffet was also great, even though we were hideaway we chose to go to the bigger main buffet for every breakfast because the dorado was small, slow and limited in selection (we went once, it was fine!). We appreciated how they sat hideaway and diamond people in one section, and families in another section. Pool/beach: no complaints! The hideaway pool was lovely, always able to get chairs and an umbrella. Bar only got crazy busy once or twice, and we enjoyed drinking premium liquor all week (grey goose, yes please!). The beach was nice too, clearly man made/maintained, but we honestly hung out by the pool most of the time, and wandered down to the beach when it was loud aquafit time. Always able to find a place to relax when we needed it. The jet ski's were a lot of fun, and provided a beautiful view once you were out in the ocean. Be wary of who you rent them from... we paid $40USD for 30 minutes (2 people on one), and friends paid $25, $40 and $30 when they went... always a different price? Odd. We have traveled twice a year for the last 4 years, and this is byfar the nicest resort we have been to. We are a young couple, no children, and loved our vacation. Make sure you save some breakfast sausage for the stay dogs... they're very friendly and precious.
