The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Amazing Family Vacation

My husband and I went to this resort for a week with our 5 month old son as well as my brother in law, sister in law and their 9 month old daughter. We were nervous about taking the babies to Mexico but had no reason to be thanks to this resort. Besides being very accommodating to families the resort was beautiful, food was amazing and staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was set up with a crib, baby bath and bottle sterilizer. We tried every restaurant and enjoyed each one, all of our servers were incredible and the food was delicious. Couldn’t find a thing to complain about. Would definitely go back to this resort even if we weren’t bringing the kids.

El Dorado Casitas Royale: Fantastic Getaway!

The Casitas were private and quiet with dedicated pools. Individual bartenders that got to know you and your preferences. Excellent choice if you want to recuperate from the daily rigours. The good: The food and liquor is well above the average resort food. Pools are clean and we'll maintained. Fuentes Culinary Theatre is worth doing more than once, but is a 2+ hour dinner. There are usually enough beach beds to go around in the Casitas section. If you want one a a main pool, the [... read more]y are usually available at 8 am. The not so good: Even in off season, most restaurants have a short wait (20 minutes or so) to get a table at lunch and longer at dinner. Reservations are not supposed to be required, but are highly suggested if you want a specific one. In 4 orders of room service between us and a group of friends, 2 orders were accurate. Two were incorrect in what was ordered vs delivered. The Casitas are slightly out of the way from the main pools and restaurants. Shuttles mostly take care of this. Other notes: As a general reminder, bring a reusable straw with you to the resort. Most are trying to cut down on single use plastics.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Beautiful beach .... okay resort

The beach at this resort was beautiful and unique with natural coral and exotic fish in the water BUT if you are not 50 + and or European DONT go here . This resort is geared towards its European visitors and the entire time we felt like we were in seniorville. No offence but we were just disappointed in the lack of entertainment and things to do in the evening . It’s rediculius . The worst part is I read all the reviews prior to booking and NOONE mentioned that this is geared for like retirement age and english people ( we are Canadian ) (I only mention the type of people geared to as this affected their food choices ) we were in Mexico and could barely find a freakin taco !! Everything was fish n chips and pastas . Food was mediocre and everything in the resort and it’s sister resort (one side is sensimar one is el dorado) was extremely far so it either took forever to walk there or it took long waiting for a golf cart to take you . I will say the food at el dorado side was much better .

I went with friends and enjoyed our stay. The grounds were well kept and the service was great..everyone was very friendly. We went to all of the restaurants hard to pick a favourite..the Italian was especially good. Don't miss out on the fresh tacos being made daily..you will not be disappointed.

El Dorado Royale: Wonderful service, shame about the beach

El Dorado Royale is a wonderful resort if you want attention to detail, efficient and friendly staff, carefully tended grounds, artfully presented and tasty food and well appointed, spacious rooms with comfortable beds and pillows. However, the beach was greatly disappointing. The ocean beach floor was primarily rough, hard coral and the waves and seaweed made it very difficult to participate in water sports. I was told that my room looked over a building and trees but for an additional cost, I could get an ocean view room. I declined, and when I checked into my room, I was delighted to see my room faced the ocean. It was a glorious view. Also be aware of the time share seminar that you will be invited to attend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff, food, facilities - all a wonderful experience. Whatever we needed, especially with our two young children, the resort helped us out with. We will definitely try to go back. Have already recommended it to several people.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Loved the El Doeado Sensimar Seaside Resort!

I've been to many Mexican resorts, mostly on the Mayan Riviera. This was probably the best so far. As an Adult Only Resort, it was quiet but had good entertainment for the size. The staff was the best ! Juan in the Beach BBQ was great. Nicola from the entertainment crew was great too. We loved our bachfron t room, with the beach only a few steps away and a pool (with a swim up bar) a few steps away too! The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Beautiful resort!

This resort was very nice! It was very clean, the staff were very friendly and the resort was well kept. I was a little disappointed in the food selection as well as some of the restaurants being closed on certain days. We missed a couple of them due to having the incorrect schedule. The beach was small.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Sensimar El Dorado seaside suites

My husband & I stayed in a premier swimup on the older side of the resort and absolutely loved it! The rooms were redone but you could see the age but did not affect or impede our stay or enjoyment. The food was absolutely Devine for an all inclusive & the service with many many kind staff was great to have!!

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Perfect resort for a relaxing vacation

Everything is 5 stars - the staff, the drinks, the food, the grounds and rooms. I highly recommend the beachfront/view rooms for their location right on the beach. The is a resort suited to people who like a low key, quiet place for R and R.

This resort and it's staff make everyone feel like a celebrity. The grounds were well kept, the rooms are relaxing and luxurious, the food is incredible! Make sure you eat at Arezzo! The beach is small but allows you to enjoy the ocean. The staff are by far the best in the world!

El Dorado Seaside Suites: DO NOT BOOK, NO BEACH

This is the worst hotel in Mexico, toke us about 3 hours to check in, we wait for our baggage until 10 pm, the room been clean around 7 pm!!! Now the most important, guys the beach is terrible terrible! It is a man made laguna, all around is those stinky huge black sand bags, the water is up to knee, you can't swim!!! this is only spot to swim, all around is rocks and it is not safe to swim, use google satellite map and u will see that there is no blue water or white sand!

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Another Amazing Stay!

We recently stayed at the El Dorado Seaside Suites for the second time and were totally happy with this resort. The staff, service, grounds are absolutely perfect! The restaurants, rooms and pool were all top notch. The beach is very lovely; the water on the Seaside Suites side is rocky but that does not bother me. The water is warm and the beach is lovely. I would recommend this resort and hope to return again in the near future.

Selection Riviera Cancun: What an amazing week!!!

I can't say enough about this hotel! It was the most amazing place I've ever stayed. We had a walkout Jacuzzi suite and it was heaven. The room was spacious, beds so comfy, great shower, nicely appointed and clean! I travelled with my 5 year old and we really enjoyed being able to walk out of our room and jump into the lazy river; only complaint is that the picture shown on the Sunwing website for this particular room is wrong. I thought it had steps down and a rail to hold but those rooms are o [... read more]n the Adults only side so they might want to update the picture. Still it was a great room. Food was outstanding!!! So much to choose from and the room service was a great for lunch when we didn't want to leave the pool. The Nickelodeon area for the kids was fantastic! The indoor facility and the pools and splash pad! I cant say enough!! The staff were amazing. We are planning to return in January. I never stay at the same place twice but this place made me feel relaxed and happy and I want to feel that again!!!!

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Great Vacation!

This was our second trip this year to the Sensatori - obviously we like the resort seeing we chose it again when we wanted a relaxing week after a busy, stressful summer. The resort is fairly new, around ten years old so still clean and in great shape, modern and very well maintained. You'll never find glasses, garbage or cigarette butts/ash trays lying around. Couldn't have asked for a better location and room. The pools are great, clean, spacious; three swim up bars (1 in the main pool, 1 for the premium swim up room and 1 for the adult swim up rooms). Drinks are always great. Premium alcohol, delicious cocktails, cold water bottles and ice cream machines! Food is great! One of the reasons we love it here. Always something to eat - tons of selection at the buffet, different themes every night. Once a week they have an amazing beach party on the beach where they basically move the main buffet outside - really fun and great selection! Music and shows to boot. We didn't really try any a la carte, either time we visited. We travel with our toddler so reserving a time to eat at a restaurant then ordering and waiting for food defeats the purpose of vacation for us. The only exception is the burger place - no reservation needed and AWESOME burgers. Great menu. The coffee shop is also a fave spot. Great coffee, cappuccinos, lattes, ice coffees, smoothies, etc.... not too mention jars of cookies, and a fridge full of cake and pastries to choose from. Downside to the resort..... the beach..... the water is a bit too rough. Both times we were there we never saw anything but a red flag up on the beach. But the pools help make up for it. Also - strongly suggest doing the Saona Island excursion .... an awesome day on a catamaran on the Caribbean swimming in the turquoise blue waters where they filmed the Blue Lagoon... gorgeous! Great day in then ocean to compensate for the loss of swimming in an ocean at the resort. We also did the Nickolodeon water park this time - the concierge gave us free tickets - and it was fun ... our 2 year old had fun.. met the paw patrol, played in the lazy river and water park..... not so much for adults.. but great for the kids for the day or a half day. Don't book this resort if you hate kids. It's shared with the American Nickolodeon resort... so the are kids everywhere. The resort has adults only sections (restaurant, pool etc) but nonetheless, not an adults only resort.

El Dorado Royale: Amazing resort! Amazing Staff!

Had an amazing time. Lovely looking resort with lots of options for swimming and fun. Was particularly blown away by the quality of the food. Jojo's Caribbean Beach Grill was our personal favorite for both lunch and dinner. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Tons to do, beautiful beaches and they grow a lot of their own produce. Would highly recommend.

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Amazing!!

We stayed in a Premium Honeymoon Swim Up Suite, for 5 days. The rooms were immaculate, the grounds were spotless and the food was spectacular. Of all the restaurants, the best one - by far - was Kitchen 23 by the Lighthouse. Congratulations to the chef, who has and incredible imagination and wonderful attention to detail and Jesus, my waiter, who did everything he could to make this experience one of the best ones I've ever had. While the report did a great job cleaning it from the beach area, there was no way I was going to venture in the ocean. The only negative thing that occurred while there was that my toddlers puddle jumpers went missing from our ground floor deck; I had left them out overnight to dry and in the morning they had disappeared. Cant wait to go back

El Dorado Royale: Beautiful Resort

This resort was amazing. Great food and entertainment, along with such a peaceful atmosphere. I would highly recommend this resort for a relaxing vacation. Make sure to visit all the activities on the resort.

Generations Riviera Maya: Breeze beautiful

This visit was a return visit to Generations, many staff stood out offering over the top service-Enrique Torres/shuttle driver our butlers Paco, Candy man, Cesar and Christian very professional and always loving and helpful. We did use restaurants at El Dorado Royale but preferred the Jade restaurant and Chef Market restaurants, The only place we found a good steak(included in the all inclusive price- as most steaks have additional charges) was at Cocotal restaurant-beef tenderloin on menu was  [... read more]fantastic, they used to have this choice at the Italian restaurant but have changed the menu recently to dis clued all steak and are selling them on the upscale for sales unfortunately. Most dinner menue S at the El Dorado have switched their beef and chicken dishes for fish and seafood leaving almost nothing to order on the menue said if you do not eat fish or seafood, the previous 8 years the menue said always included food choices for all eaters, this is no more the case, very little food choices for non fish and seafood eaters (lobster is upscale not included with all inclusive). Room cleanliness was extremely lacking compared to all previous visits to Karisma hotels, room service menu has decreased, leaving little to desire as well. Over all I found this visit showed a large downscale in room cleaning, food selection and shuttle services, waiting 45 minutes for a dinner shuttle is unacceptable (sand flees bite the most after 6:00 I had over 40 bites on my legs, then I stood in the middle of the road to block a shuttle after being passed constantly by half empty shuttles going one way and full shuttles coming back and changing the time to 20 minute wait again) sad that I finally had to stand in the middle of the road to block a shuttle to get a ride for my husband and other couple with us!!! Shame on the resort for only having 2dinner shuttles for all three resorts all week!!!

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Outstanding Family Friendly Resort!

My family and I just returned from the Nickelodeon Resort and Hotel, and had an amazing time. The resort is immaculate, and the service impeccable. Everyone greets you with a smile and are always happy to help you. That goes for the bartenders, servers, front desk and even the life guards. My kids, aged 3 and 5, loved the water park and the character breakfast! We even got slimed! An absolute must! The food was truly outstanding.
