Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing stay at Grand Sirenis!!!

We stayed at this hotel for seven day and absolutely loved the stay. The staff and entertainment team were very welcoming and created a fun environment to enjoy. The bartender at the bar located before the beach, Adonis and Yasniel, were great, very friendly and attentive. As well as Miguel the bartender and Jesus the chef at the 24/7 snack bar they went above and beyond. Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Not crazy about resort

People are wonderful, staff réception and at the bars maids etc.very lovely. Food was not too good but that could be due to availability. Very repetitive items. Pools too noisy with djs yelling to get ppl pumped up and often too loud music. Same at the beach. Rooms were clean.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Great resort

We enjoyed our stay at grand sirenis! The room are very big (we had 2 rooms side to side but no communicating door) and clean. The cleaner are doing an excellent job daily, we had everything we needed daily. The only exception I would say is the bath in both rooms were not so clean but we didn't use it since shower are big and separated from the bath. The resort is great, different pools, lazy river, activity all day long, different buffet/pizza/bbq/snack all day. The food is excellent and you have different option all day and all night. There is an excellent café directly on the resort which is so good!! The personnel on the resort is very kind and funny. There is always a show at 21h which is more music and show dance. The beach is very nice but we had found it small compare to other resort we went too and the sand wasn't as soft as we thought but definetly a wonderful beach with very nice fish that comes close to us. If you are a early bird, you will enjoy the sunrise at the beach where its quiete and peacful! The only thing we were desapointed in is the smell in some area on the resort especially in the morning.. there is definetly something that they can improve in that direction. Hotel is about 1h from the airport but at this time of year( Oct 2022) they had road construction so I would say more like 1h30-2h of drive. Overall of our stay was great! I recommend this resort but it seems that there is the same resort in Recuplic dominicain and it seems to be better with water slide.

Excellent resort, friendly staff, very clean. Beach was amazing. Lots of activities, nightly shows. Excursions were reasonably priced. Rooms are large, clean and welcoming. Always lots of hot water. Food was plentiful and good.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: You get what you pay for

Mostly nice staff including server Gereni, our maid Yanet and bartender Santos plus more. There were a couple rude and in non-accommodating staff members. A few things went wrong such as cold shower and broken safe but was fixed. Due to the humidity, the sheets and pillows always smelled of mildew. They fumigate for mosquitos daily, but it doesn’t work because my husband and I got eaten alive by them. The mosquitos were the worst part of the trip by far. The buffet serving utensils were managed poorly. The dessert is mostly wet cake and unripened fruit. The grill stations are your best bet. The beach is great. Overall you get what you pay for so I can’t even complain. Would recommend for a money saving option. Bring lots of bug spray and spices for your food.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Place

The resort was beautiful, the grounds very well kept, gardeners working extremely hard from early morning to evening. Couldn't fault the staff at all throughout the resort, took great care of the tourists staying here, and went out of their way to please and make your stay really wonderful. The beach was also beautiful. I was there by myself but never felt lonely or left out of anything, I had a wonderful time from the moment I got on the transfer bus to the time I got back to the airport. The food was really good, had grilled chicken, beef and turkey every day and more than enough choice even for the picky eater., I loved it and had an amazing much needed vacation, the pool was sloped so very safe for all.

The hotel itself is newer and looks qnice and our room was always kept clean. The stairwells and hallways could have used some regular sweeping. The grounds were kept fairly well, but we saw the same chicken bone on the walkway the whole week and although the pool was kept well, the area around the pool deck could use a bit more help. There is still much to work on but lots of potential. The beach is gorgeous and the water is crystal clear. We spent most of our time in the water. The pedal bots and Hobie cars were in excellent shape and plentiful. The guys were helpful and they were heroes. They rescued and revived a drowning snorkeller when were were there. The mosquitos or whatever was biting us from day one were ridiculous! Even with regular application of our high-deet bug spray, we got eaten alive and are still itchy several days after our return. We saw that the Hotel fogged for mosquitoes, in fact we were quite upset that they did this during times when people walked along the paths. It happened to us three times, when all of a sudden a horrid-smelling smoke shot out of a big canister from the back of a pick-up truck. I complained to the front desk but they didn’t seem to care. Why can’t they do this later at night? It sure didn’t seem to help by doing it at 7 pm and goodness knows what we breathed in. The food! Oh dear. I had low expectations but it was far worse than I imagined. Unless you got something from the grill, it was room temperature at best. And never mind the poor selection and repetition. I understand that they simply don’t have the supply, but geez. Boiled potatoes three ways - sliced, wedges and cubes - but no fries? No lettuce, no pizza, no burgers. Cut up hot dogs for breakfast sausage. I could go on. We didn’t go hungry but the food was disappointing. Since we rarely felt compelled to hit the buffet, we spent more time swimming so that was good for us. Lol We we’re thankful for the man at the grill cooking our eggs and pancakes in the morning and the girl who made smoothies. Toast and butter were good too but often crowded even with low occupancy rate. The bar staff was great, especially Yireni at the Lobby Bar. She was such a lovely person. Coffee was great and yummy iced coffee was always being churned. That was a bonus.The only bartender that was unfriendly and unwelcoming was the young woman who also took the restaurant reservations in the mornings. She was always eager to get on her phone and let other bartenders do the work. I didn’t catch her name because they don’t wear name tags.

The rooms are amazing the staff was awesome the food was ok it could be better but I understand they try their best hopefully next visit we have Better food clean dining area better wifi also very safe and friendly place very good people the best beaches I ever seen

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Grand serinus resort

The hotel was very good. I give 8.5 because there was no elevator. The hotel offered good shows / entertainment every night. The down fall was the food. The food was very salt and it was hard to eat. I talked to the manager about this salt. After there was less salt in the food. The food is 3 out 10. The hotel need to improve on the food, people in Cuba are very helpful and polite. It safe to move around on the resort at night. This hotel is the best if you don’t care about the food

Great hotel. Beach was everything i wanted, amazing, (I go for the beach), i did not starve as there were an assortment of food. Lots at breakfast, always fresh fruits throughout the day. Shoutout to Rozmay, Miguel (took care of our room), the entertainment team and the dancers. There were so many more lovely warm people.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Mosquito Infested Resort

Disappointed in every way. I cannot imagine how this is a 5 star resort. Mosquitoes everywhere, flies all around the buffet table and the plates are always greasy like they haven’t been washed. These things they can find ways to fix but chose not to. A La Carte restaurants never had much options from the menu and when they did have something. On our last day some maid tried to steal from our room and was begging for us not to report it. Our experience wasn’t pleasant in anyway that I would never travel to Cuba again.

The hotel is currently far from full due to covid. This meant no issues getting a spot at the pool or the beach or restaurants. The staff is very friendly and not pushy. Not many covid changes that i can tell some signs here and there with purell dispensers (mostly empty) a few staff members would wear masks. Food was ok , the a la carte not worth it mostly similar food to buffet. Buffet had omelet station, stir fry, fresh meats/fish, pasta and once pizza. Once all the buildings fill they will have to pull out more chairs at the pools and beach and open up some restaurants that were closed. Overall we had a a good time, wifi is free and available from everywhere in the hotel (although signal would randomly drop at times) nice hotel nice staff for the right price i would return

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Something is wrong?

Something is wrong, as Canadian don't travel to Dominican in june,you will subjected to being a second class visitor the place is filled with Argentinians Spanish speaking enough said but its favoritism its constant and it wears on you after a week . I've never been told no so many times. The water park is as bad as the reviews your reading on adviser now all 3 of my grand kids got injured as did most kids and adults .line ups to the buffets, only to be seated at a table without cutlery, no wat [... read more]er glasses became the standard always chasing coffee and cups in morning no bowls or spoons made soup cereal or ice cream a challenge food was sub par and warm at best ,,Japanese and Brazil passed kids enjoyed and ate something finally however my wife got food poisoning the day before we left. beach has some sargassum and is cleaned by a stinky tractor, the pools at either end have swim up bars and are 3 ft deep stink and look full of urine the middle 2 pools are 6.5 ft deep useless to most. Rooms were not always cleaned lost power every few hrs in the evening for approx 5 min until day five I lost the air ,after numerous calls a repair guy showed up fixed it and said don't use the bathroom light strange but ok. Over all the staff seem sad and indifferent more don't then do return a smile or greeting something sure is wrong!

For our trip to Cuba, Hotel Grand Sirenis Cayo Santa-María Good memories with our kids. Excellent service from your travel agent. In Cuba, from airport to the hotel, long way, almost 2h, but amazing trip with a bus with air conditioned. Good occasion seeing real Cuban villagers and amazing road between Cuba island and Cayó Santa-María island. Grand Sirenis Cayo Santa María it’s a modern hotel, built in 2019, with the huge rooms. Big bathroom, nice balcony and all the rooms in the main building are first floor to 3 floor, with an elevator who’s working well each day. Problems in the hotel: - the climatisation in our room was not working on our arrival in the room, we’re announced and they repaired the same day. - drain in the shower blocked and the water was everywhere, but they sent the plumber and he fixed, the second day. - Sunwing representative on the spot, between 14h30-17h - The roads from the hotel to the beach made by concrete pieces with a space between them and my Weelchair stays blocked between this empty spaces. Impossible to go to the beach by myself or with the kids. !!!If this will be repaired, like a smooth way to the beach, I will return in this hotel. - the pools were green because they didn’t put enough chlorine, but at the end of our vacation of 1 week, the biggest pool was blue and ok, the kids loved. - not too much animation, only 2 tenors in the lobby, almost every evening, if some thematic animation was organized m, only 2-3 days from our 7 days stay, too late for families, at 9h30 pm Good points: -Excellent manager and client services, they helped us to have our problems solved - amazing beaches and good juices on the beach. - it’s like a peninsula, so no waves or jellyfish, water was amazing, - enough close to the beach, a small coral relief with fishes, nice activity for our kids - amazing short trip with a catamaran for 4 persons Good price and amazing people! Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Jungle paradise!

First time to the resort and loved it! The rooms are so nice, modern decor, every pathway through the resort is lush and beautifully maintained. I wanted to take pics everywhere, just so tropical and beautiful. We had an issue with our room key, they sent help and resolved it super quickly. I'm vegan and found so many delicious options at the a la cartes and buffets. Coffee is DELICIOUS (love that they can make the drinks with soy milk). We brought our own towels so that we didn't risk losing ours and paying $50 USD. We saw monkeys at the ceynote on site, checked out the dolphin show, played water polo, beach volleyball, etc etc (the pool entertainment team is the best). Had an amazing time and will definitely be back to this resort! We had fresh fruit delivered to our room, a complimentary bottle of champagne- really made us feel special. Felt totally safe with all the precautions the resort takes for Covid (mask requirement at meals, staff wearing masks, tables and rooms marked as sanitized, hand sanitizer available throughout the resort etc). So many good things to say about this resort!

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Disappointing Trip

We’ve been to Cuba over 15 times and so we know to have low expectations when it comes to food. However this hotel was a 2* for food as there was barely any offerings for guests. The worst part was that both of the 2 pools were not working that it was green from algae. On top of the bad weather and bad food, we also had no pool. We paid for a so called “5*” hotel that had no pool and we are not happy.
