Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Excellent

We stayed at the Akumal in the Adults only section. It was right on the beach. The room was spacious with a partial view of the ocean. The room was thoroughly cleaned daily. In fact, I have never stayed at a resort where the maid service was so thorough. The food was absolutely delicious. It is nice to have the private buffet at the adults only section for breakfast and lunch. It looks out over the water. The selection was very good, replenished regularly and it is not overwhelming as a  [... read more]regular buffet can be. We had an a la carte each evening and all were very good. The beach sand is made from coral, so don't expect the soft sand of other areas. Water shoes would be an asset. There are lots of beach chairs and palapas. The resort is very large, but transportation to other areas for the evening meals is very easy.

The residence is great ,clean and good service, except for the drinks are not good , you keep drinking the whole day and you do not feel anything as if you are drinking water. The Wi-Fi is so bad and it keeps asking you to log in again and again every day. The residence is good for people who wants to stay in the residence only.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Nice resort but not safe for a Celiac

The beach is beautiful. Lots of shady areas available. Having stayed at the resort before, it is beginning to get a bit tired looking. The biggest negative for our family was the lack of knowledge of the restaraunts with gluten and gluten free products. Although we are very diligent and careful (if you are a Celiac you know what this means) my wife ended up getting very ill and missing a full day of our vacation in bed. I would recommend this hotel for others as it is very nice - but not for Celiacs.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great experience!

Beach was beautiful (very busy), there are a million pools, the grounds are kept very clean and the rooms were well serviced. All staff were extremely attentive and friendly for the most part. Buffet staff were the only hit and miss for service. Overall an excellent vacation and would recommend.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Amazing place

Hotel was beautiful and well kept. Service was exceptional and the employees were friendly. We would definitely return to this resort. The only thing that could improve is they only had espresso coffee in the lobby they should have a machine at every restaurant

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Fantastic resort

Rooms are large and excellent, all new with zero mold issues, extremely clean, so much for kids to do you won’t be disappointed, took advantage of access to other resorts in complex and excellent restaurants. Thank you to Deputy Mgr Jennifer who promptly sorted out a issue for me - my group was booked at AquaMarine and she made arrangements so I could eat with them - outstanding help!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great resort but could be made better

This is our first visit to this resort and our fifth visit to a Grand Bahia resort. Overall it is a great resort, beaches ,food and rooms are all good. It is a fairly quiet resort especially at night. To bring this resort up to Grand Bahia standards they have to improve the service at the lobby bar and the buffets restaurant, some of the service was excellent but it was very hit and miss. We would definitely return to this resort and recommend it to friends.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort

The Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana is a beautiful resort . Part of a huge conglomerate, it only a small part of a huge resort area. The grounds were beautifully kept, lush and well groomed. Our room was lovely, clean, large, and nicely decorated. The beachfront area is very big, and always was kept clean . The pool area was huge and always looked well used. Washrooms were always clean and well looked after. Only disappointment was the inability to book al a cartes. Seems one has to book prior to your trip. The conceirer want helpful in any way. Although our package was privileged we didn’t really have anything different than the norm. Lastly the waitstaff could use an upgrade in their language . They rarely understood your request or inquiry. We learned that a large resort isn’t as personal as the smaller ones we’ve been to in past.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great place

Overall great resort, foods good, grounds are well kept, servers are very good at the buffet especially Luis and Ewardo. Beach is nice but sand isn’t as nice as other beaches in Dominican, lots of little sand flies. Only thing I didn’t like is all the bars shut down at 11pm but the disco bar which is about a five minute walk down the resort driveway away from all the rooms, and about ten minutes after the entertainment they shut all the lights off in and around the entertainment area and hal [... read more]l ways. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Loved it!

I love to travel and have been to Cuba, Mexico, Dominican and now Jamaica. So far I have I to say that I enjoyed Jamaica the best. The people are welcoming and friendly. The resort is not so big and kept clean. I enjoyed the food and beach buffet that served jerk chicken. The nightly entertainment was nice, if you just wanted to stay back and listen to music by the lobby every night or enjoy the different themed entertainment at different of locations. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Amazing Resort

From the time we arrived till the day we left, we had an amazing family trip! It was our first time in Jamaica at the Grand Bahia Principe. The food was good as well as the la a carte, they had lots of variety and different themed nights. The best was the Chicken we all have to say. The hotel wasn't to big, the staff was very friendly, very clean resort and rooms, and easy to get around. Leave the rest for a surprise. Very entertaining for the kids! The beach, was the best part, and the main reason for going. Wasn't from from the hotel or kids water park. Kids enjoyed the beach, playing in the sand and swimming with the fish.

Staff very friendly and helping. Bahia Village very enjoyable place with multiple local people. Resort very very clean. Pool environment was amazing. Entertainment team very fun. Bartenders very fun and knowledgeable.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: wonderful vacation

We enjoyed the resort. Food was good, The staff where amazing. It was nice having different pools to choose from. If you didn't want to join in with the activities, you could go to the quiet pool Also an adult pool. Room was good. We had no complaints. Bus ran out of beer on the way to the resort LOL. Again give the staff 110%. They treated you so well and made sure you where totally satisfied.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: second time was not a charm!!

Came last year same time. (February) Had such a great time so decided to bring my family again this year same time.(myself, my wife, two daughters(17,25) and son(21). Overall had a great time. Food was good but found it better last year for whatever reason. Seemed more crowded so had to work harder to get the food I liked. Had to wait or ask for items where the serving plates were empty. When I did ask the service was good. Was really windy all week...same as last year. Had less seaweed [... read more] on the beach compared to last year but this year the removal was not as diligently as last year. Seaweed was left on the shore in piles for days to dry I guess before it was removed. Hard to go for an enjoyable walk on the beach. The beach is a huge part of the experience so this was disappointing. ( I took a picture) When we arrived we were surprised to see all the garbage on the beach especially in front of the quiet pool beach area. Saw many people pointing to it as they walked by. I couldn't understand why a few staff couldn't take an hour to pick it up. It was sad to look at but at the same time brought reality to the ongoing concern of plastics and garbage in our waters. Didn't want to be reminded of this during my holidays though. It wasn't until our 6th day there it was actually cleaned up. This was very disappointing. ( I took a picture) Since it was so windy all week couldn't go sailing or any water activities so went to the activity hut to get a volleyball to hopefully get a few people to play on the beach. Was told no balls. A few were stolen the day before and no replacement balls were available?? I went to the activity hut near the quiet pool and asked to get the disks and poles to play shuttle board. Took a while for the guy to look away from his phone to tell he didn't have any!!! I then asked him for bocce balls or horse shoes to play in the two sand pits they had near the shuttle board. Again,he explained that he didn't have any and made no attempt to help me in any way. His cell phone was more important!! I didn't bother asking about the archery area because it was in shambles...definitely not an option. Needless to say the week week was quiet and a little boring. I'm not a big reader and can only lay in the sun for so long. My last few hours on the beach on my last day was fun. I took a volleyball out of the hut that was under the counter and got some guys from Argentina to play volleyball on the beach for a few hours. Had lots of fun and enjoyed playing. Resort should go out of there way to make other activities available especially when the water sports are limited. Tried to book my wife and me into one of the restaurants but no luck...all booked. Waited to long to book (3rd day so my fault) Overheard a hotel representative explain to book a restaurant every day as soon as you arrive because you can always cancel. I wonder how many empty tables this causes?? When we were leaving I reserved/booked a trolley to pick us up and take our luggage to the lobby. (we always walked) Trolley never came and had to rush by foot with luggage to get to lobby to check out and meet our transfer to the airport. I asked the hotel rep. at the front of the lobby what happened to our pick up. He smiled and shrugged his shoulders!! I went to check out and had only to pay $35 for a late check out for one room which was great! Check out took over 30 min. for a simple $35 charge. Crazy! I just wanted to enjoy my last cold beer in the lobby before we left for the airport. I was excited to bring my family back to this property but will not be returning again. The property is beautiful and overall very well maintained. For the most part staff are very pleasant and go out of their way to offer good service. Pools are beautiful and well maintained. Entertainment is fine but nothing extraordinary. Most was similar to last year. Rooms are nice and well maintained. Was a nice quiet week away!!

Cayo Levantado Resort: Great Island Resort!

All inclusive resort. Well maintained. Never felt crowded, even at the pools or the beach. No line ups for anything. Food at all restaurants and at the buffet was great. Staff were all very accommodating and friendly. Room was a Junior Suite and was very comfortable. Butler service was also well presented and professional. This was included. English is sometimes a struggle - however the staff do their best to communicate. We were very pleased with our experience.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Good vacation, but management doesn’t care about repeat customers

Resort is good very clean and people are friendly. We were disappointed because we have been to this resort 15 times and had expected to get a VIP bracelet as we had on the past. They have changed the rules with the new Ambar. We will not be back as they don’t care about repeat customers especially if you have been there 15 times.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: The food at this resort is super. I've never seen such a variety at all meals, well presented and so good.

The hotels, rooms and surrounding areas were very clean. We couldn't ask for better service. The beach area wasn't so nice. I would definite recommend that resort. The bus ride from the airport is very long, like almost 2 hours.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Very nice vacation

The stay at the Sian Ka’an was overall very nice. The food selection and quality was fabulous from both the buffets and most of the a la carte’s. The staff, to a person, were very friendly and helpful and although the facilities were just fine, I wouldn’t call it 5 star. There was significant amounts of paint peeling off the ceiling in the washroom. The couch in the room was so sacked out you couldn’t sit on it, which only left the bed to sit on and the stairway leading up to our room  [... read more]had the same trash and dead beetles littered on it until it was finally swept on the sixth day. The coffee machine at the nearby pool bar often didn’t work and if this was a true 5 star should have been replaced and the pool was full of debris and in need of a good cleaning. Having said all of this, it was still a nice vacation and I would recommend this hotel chain to others.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Wonderful resort = Fabulous Vacation!

Absolutely fabulous vacation! Resort was wonderful. Room was fabulous with Jacuzzi and private balcony. Grounds, rooms and facility were very clean. Food was delicious - never had a bad meal and the drinks were never ending! Entertainment was great. Getting around was easy on the tram system. Can't say enough about the beach - always able to find a chair, we were able to swim with fish and snorkel within our buoyed off section and the staff worked hard at keeping the beach clear of seaweed.  [... read more]There were a few rocks but that is expected in Mexico. Although a little long of a drive from the airport, but it was worth the 75 minute drive once you got there! We will definitely be back!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Pampered in Paradise

Terrific place! The rooms are fairly modern and spacious. The grounds are immaculate. 2 pools (one quiet) offer whatever you're looking for... both have swim up bars. 2 buffets and 3 a la cartes… plus you have reciprocal rights to the adjacent B.P. La Romana with more dining options. Beach is nice: tall palms and lots of palapas. Staff were amazing! We try to get away a couple of times a year and this place was among the best we've been to. We would unreservedly recommend the Bouganville to anyone looking for a relaxing week in the sun.
