Riu Vallarta: Good solid family resort
The Hotel is a great choice for families, there are lots of activities for kids, a nightly show 8-9pm, which caters to the young ones, our grandson enjoyed it every night we were there. The food was really good, the buffet extensive. Not enough beach chairs, though we were there during high season so hard to judgel
Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Amazing
beautiful beach, amazing resort, clean spacious rooms. Lots of entertainment and restaurants. Amazing pool with a beach look out. Has something for every age. Can't wait to go back with my entire family.
Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: No need to leave the resort.
We stayed for one week (during one of the busiest weeks of the year) and it did not feel crowded. Food was excellent. The only challenge (which is not unique to this resort) is trying to get a chair by the pool in a desired location as some people get up early and reserve them wit a towel or book and the chairs sit unused for half the day.
Marival Emotions Resort and Suites Riviera Nayarit: Decent resort
We were here a couple of years ago, and overall the service has deteriorated. Some staff are still great, but many seem indifferent. The pizza grill and bar are a great feature. We had Gold status for the week, but they did a very poor job at explaining all of the features of the program so it felt like a bit of a waste. The towel hut almost everyday did not have enough large towels available. The checkout process was log and arduous - they did not have enough staff working the front desk.
Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Very good resort for families
Property is clean and well maintained; food is good; kids area is excellent; beach is wonderful; only complaint - dinner reservations at the restaurants are difficult - hard to get and yet the restaurants are empty (very curious??). They need big theme nights for dinners that are open to all - and more outdoor dining would be good. Overall - excellent.
Plaza Pelicanos Club: Not as advertised
Was told the resort was 4 stars and it was maybe a 3. We had to find our way around the resort ourselves as no one showed us where anything was or explained how anything worked. And the pictures posted online were definitely better than in person. As well some of the pictures that were included in online reviews were actually of a hotel next door owned by the same chain. Most of the food was buffet style and lacked variety. Overall it was a very disappointing experience for a trip that was suppo [... read more]
Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Huge rooms
We recently travelled to the barcelo puerto Vallarta. We were pleased when we saw the rooms. By far the largest rooms I've been in, which is great when travelling with children. They had their own seperate space. The rooms were also renovated and very comfortable. The resort itself is well laid out and people are very friendly. However I would say the the resort, with exemption of the rooms is starting to show it's age. The hot tubs especially are starting to look dingy. All in all I would recom [... read more]
Las Palmas by the Sea: Wonderful staff, great trip
The hotel was clean the staff very friendly and helpful, the food was very good and the drinks kept flowing. The beach is well kept. We were there for Christmas and New Year and they made both occasions very special and the traditions that we learned about are not only beautiful but amazing to see. Look forward to going again.
Riu Flamingos: Riu Rocks!
We just returned from the Riu Jalisco and we could not be happier with our time there. Having stayed at the Riu 12 years ago we constantly were comparing the newly renovated hotel to the old and we found nothing was lacking. The food was fantastic with lots of variety and very good quality - same goes for the drinks! The hotel has been recently renovated but the rooms are much the same as they were on our previous visit. The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the maid staff are [... read more]
Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Had a great time
We went with young kids and the extended family, and had a great time. Very friendly staff, lots of cheerful local people and a surrounding small town. Rooms fairly well kept, the food was good with lots of variety. Would go again.
Riu Vallarta: Great value for the price.
Beautiful setting and exceptional staff. The RIU Vallarta is a wonderful location for an all inclusive holiday. We signed up for two Nexustours.com (adventure tour and Mexican night) and enjoyed both a great deal! Our family would return to RIU Vallarta.
Riu Flamingos: A bit disappointed. Not like it used to be!
Not the same as years ago. Wouldn't recommend Shows were very poor Hotel is clean tho! Took my 3 teenage grand daughters so we had a great time anyway! You can get a better value for what we paid. Won't be doing the Riu again
Melia Puerto Vallarta: Very Good
This is the 2nd time that we have vacationed at this resort as a family and we will be back again! It is very family friendly and our 3 boys loved it too! We also have friends in Peurto Vallarta and we appreciate being able to spend time with them on the resort by purchasing a day pass for them to swim and have dinner together. The rooms are clean and well kept and up to date, however I would suggest that they upgrade the double bed to a queen bed in the Deluxe room . Last time we were lucky eno [... read more]
Crown Paradise Club: Great family holiday resort!
We just returned from a 10 day stay at this small but lovely resort! We travelled with our 2 small children who had an amazing time and made lots of new friends! The resort was very close to the airport so no long drive to and from! Upon arrival we we greater by our Westjet rep and everything was smooth sailing. Off to the resort and that was quick and easy as well! We took a basic room with an ocean view, was lovely and simple and clean! Only thing missing was the fridge didn't have any beverag [... read more]
Crown Paradise Club: Family Friendly Resort
The resort is one of the few good ones I have experienced. The staff is helpful and everybody works very hard to keep the common area clean. ( e.g. sweep the sand on most walking path, clearing dirty plates and glasses left all over the common areas ). The food is one of the best I have come across. Lots of selections and 3 types of fish every meals, not to mention the tasty Mexican food ! There are lots of activities for children and family but for a single person like, me, I find it a little n [... read more]
Plaza Pelicanos Club: Really loved it
The rooms were kept amazingly clean, the food was excellent and the staff were amazing. A special thank you to Claudio (the pool bartender) so polite and courteous. The other pool bartender was polite but I apologize I didn't get his name. The staff were incredibly helpful and everything was kept clean. Thanks all around for everyone's hard work.
Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Excellent all-inclusive resort!
The customer service here was top-notch. Every staff member that we interacted with was great and made us feel like they were truly there to make our stay carefree and fun. Bed was comfy, a/c was just right, oceanview room overlooking the golf course on the left side of the resort (third floor) was lovely and private. Food was overall great, except the steaks. We ordered rib-eye and not only were they two different steaks entirely, but so tough we honestly couldn't eat them. Two other tables nea [... read more]
Canto Del Sol: Good value
This resort has all the basics covered. It's clean, friendly staff, decent food, rooms are nice and well-maintained. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done at a reasonable price. The beach in PV is terrible however. Dark, rocky sand, polluted water and I got stung by a jellyfish. So if you only want pool-side action, it's fine, otherwise, stay on the East Coast.
Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Spectacular Resort
We stayed at Iberostar Hotel and Resorts in Puerto Vallarta Dec 4th through to Dec 11th and really enjoyed ourselves. The resort was very new and was very well kept up! Staff were very friendly and always there to assist you with anything we needed. We were questioned by staff several times during our stay whether our stay and our room was meeting our expectations and they were open to any suggestions for making anything better.
Canto Del Sol: Awesome people!
The people were amazing and went out of their way to help you. I had troubles with my door lock, both inside and out, as well as with my safe, but everything was fixed very promptly. One of the maintenance men had to even jump from a neighbouring balcony! My daughter and I will be going back!
