Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Gorgeous resort! Best food!

I have zero complaints about this resort! The food was absolutely phenomenal The grounds, room, pool and beach were so beautiful and clean. It didn’t feel like a crowded resort. Will definitely go back!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: It was a very nice resort

Overall the resort was clean and well maintained The ocean front is beautiful but the water is murky You have to use the pools.Insect spraying happens daily. (Not nice) They should do this at night.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Bad management

There are signs all around the pool not to reserve the chairs every one dose it in fact they put clothing at night witch i found out late in our stay and no one does anything about it. Why have the signs out there.there aren’t enough chairs out there, theirs holes around the pool for umbrella but no umbrellas.the same with the beach area now for reservations for restaurants it’s a joke my wife went there at 8:30 to book the steak house she was told 9:30 was the only time left they had,after bre [... read more]akfast I went to cancel it was to late to eat there was a couple asking for reservations at the steak house and they were given a choice between 6:00 or 7:30 and that was at 10:30 so i complain and was given 6:00. Entertainment was good the grounds were nice and most employees were great but would not recommend or go there.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: MIXED FEELINGS

Just returned from our week at the Gran Ventana. The PRO's: property is beautiful and well maintained. Food in buffet is good, nice variety. Lunch at the Ocean Grill is a must - chicken wings are delicious! Rooms are dated, but clean and comfortable. Octopus al la carte is great. Was not able to book a second al la carte as resort was at capacity and very busy. The CON's: customer service at front desk - staff are miserable! We had requested ground floor room but were given a room on the third  [... read more]floor! After 2 visits to the front desk to request a room change, we gave up. They clearly couldn't have cared less. No smiles, nothing. We left feeling we were bothering them. Dress code for buffet: there is a sign posted at the entrance (no bathing suits, shoes required). My husband was turned away on day one as he was wearing a tank top. Yet during the week we saw several guests allowed in wearing bathing suits. Which is it? Vendors on beach are relentless - they don't give up! Several are all offering the same service. One lady approached me, started rubbing my shoulder, and told me I needed a massage. They get right in your face. Not enjoyable. Finally, the lobby is underwhelming. There is nowhere to sit. While we had a great time with our friends, not sure I would return to this property.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Good resort

The resort overall was nice. It was very big, so that gave you many options for dinner. The draw back is beach was a little far but they did offer transportation back and forth. The cleanliness of the room and grounds was great. A few issues were that the loungers at the pool and beach were not very comfortable and were too low. Also the mattress was uncomfortable. The Brazilian steak house was there best restaurant , followed by Peruvian and Japanese.I would recommend this resort for someone who is looking for a big place with lots of options.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Amazing resort

This was a very nice hotel. It was all adults so some may find that boring, but it really wasn’t. There was daily pool exercising and entertainment after dinner and usually an evening show as well. The food was excellent—the drinks were delicious and the service was impeccable. Being able to use the sister resort next door is also a nice touch as that’s where all the good a la cartes are. Lots of chairs available at the beach. My only complaint is their wifi … it sucks unless you are in the lobby or by the pool.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Some highlights, some lowlights!

We chose this resort after visiting its Mexico sister property a few years back. This one was a disappointment by comparison. Go to the Maya Rivera instead! The highlights; great beach, nice pool, lots of chairs. The lowlights: food was terrible with very little food safety protocols, the property is aging, family suite rooms are very small and not great for a family, and there are a lot of families and a lot (a lot of kids) there. Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: very nice resort. 9.95/10

public washrooms were always clean maid forgot to top up our bath towels twice but that was ok because they brought clean towels as soon we complained. rooms always clean. buffet was exellent, a la carte best restaurant was hunters. entertainment was fun pool and beach was great, loved walking the beach( never ends for miles). would recommend this resort over Sandels anytime for the price when you compare adult only resort.

this resort beach grounds rooms where very clean lots of food staff is very friendly this resort is very Kid friendly .Our family had a Great Vacation We would definity return Check in very fast and great to deal with

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very good resort

We have been to this resort many times and we were not disappointed. This year we went later than usual and because of the timing there were a lot of young people due to US student break week. We like the Ala carte restaurant variety. The Dominican people are very gentle and happy people which makes it so enjoyable.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Relaxing Resort that made for a great vacation

Overall, this was a great resort, however, they missed on certain things that could make it an incredible resort. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with the mini fridge stocked daily and housekeeping doing an exceptional job of cleaning our room - however, the AC failed to work for most of the week and this seemed to be an issue with multiple rooms. Most restaurants were great, especially the Teppanyanki, but certain restaurants had limited service, long waits, and mediocre food. The staf [... read more]f across the resort were incredible, with service being the number one priority, but they seemed to be lacking quantity in many locations, which was the blame for the slow service from my perspective. The grounds were incredible with a beautiful lobby and flora, and a huge amount of space to explore - if you like large resorts, this is a great place to go! However, this is not a beach resort - lots of pools, but beach is extremely rocky! Avoid the timeshare salespeople at all costs - they'll indicate that it'll only take a certain amount of time, but you go through a chain of people who don't communicate with each other and it is impossible to get your 'promised voucher' without spending minimum 3 hours. We did and they still did not follow through on everything that the first person promised and they wouldn't even share the pricing for the timeshares as we were not serious enough about purchasing - again, a big waste of time!

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Great Place to Vacation

This resort has it all! The beach, pools and garden area are all beautifully maintained. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable and maid service top notch. The Restaurants offer a substantial selection of food and excellent wait staff. The golf courses, (9 hole on hotel grounds and 18 hole a ten minute van ride away) are well kept and challenging enough for the average golfer and duffer alike. Ocean Blue and Sand: Nice clean resort w/ great food!

The resort was very clean. Rooms were always clean. A little dated, but clean. Food was great. Did not have 1 bad meal. Japanese and Steak House were both excellent, and the Marina for lunch and buffet for breakfast did not disappoint. Staff were always se friendly and helpful. Only thing I would not recommend is going to the shopping market. Very overpriced merch and it took over 1/2 to get our ride back.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: No inpressed

First thoughts when arriving was good your staff at the front desk was very friendly. I requested a first floor room because of med issues and was l place in a second floor room no furniture no hair dryer soon of the wall sockets didn't work. Then had to pack up and bring everything down at 12 and store my luggage till 2 and then go back to see if they had a room on the ground floor.we got the a new room with furniture and a hairdryer and the refrigerator didn't work . Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Very nice resort.

We had a wonderful week at the Royal Bavaro. The resort staff work hard to keep it fresh and clean. The adults only section met all of our needs and provided 3 locations with loungers; a quiet pool, beach front and swim up pool. The food was excellent.

Riu Palace Macao: Amazing Resort!!!

We absolutely loved RIU Palace Macao! The staff are top level and the hotel is beautiful. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Thanks so much Cindy for recommending, and all of your help.!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great Resort

This resort is incredible. Very big with many hotels. The staff seem to have a good grasp on running things, despite its size. The food was pretty good. There were ups and downs, but for the most part very satisfying. They could improve on the coffee. I love my coffee in the am and throughout the day. Maybe add decaf as an option. All and all, very relaxing. Super friendly staff and very interactive.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Not So Good

Aquamarine room was dated and in need of a refurbishing. No dedicated outlets for phone chargers etc, in fact you had to unplug lights just to charge your phone. No stopper in sink. Towel and face cloth supply was sporadic. Handle on sink was almost broken and shower set up was loose. Room door was not sealed properly as you could clearly see the light shining around the door frame. In room fridge was not always replenished. Lack of good air conditioning in our lobby. Not easy to cool down after [... read more] a day in the sun. Lobby tables were not cleaned and were always sticky. Very difficult to find chairs at pool and beach. Sports Bar could not get NHL games on their TVs. Food was good, a la carte restaurants were good and not packed, but it was difficult to get reservations at the time you wanted. The bars also ran out of supplies and didn’t seem to care. No gin, no champagne, no Rose wine etc and the quality of of their alcohol was not up to standard.Overall the Aquamarine is not a 5 star resort and it won’t be until they refurbish the rooms.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Bahia Principe grand Bavara

Grounds were beautiful but needs maintenance.Room was nice but needs maintenance but very comfortable. Food was good but repetitive. Too many,mosquitoes I got bitten all over my feet . Service could improve at the buffet

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Great value

The hotel grounds and the facilities are well maintained and beautiful. The buffet food is good but the specialty restaurants (3 of them) are not very good. The resort made us stand in line at 10am every day to reserve the specialty restaurant of the day and it wasn’t worth the wait. We stopped doing it after we tried all restaurants. The room was very nice. A few issues with the shower wand with water splashing all over. The room towels were taken away every day at approx 10am and only returned [... read more] in the afternoon as it appeared they didn’t have enough towels to do a complete change-over. The maid service was great. Overall, it was still a great resort and a great value. I would go back again.
