Hotel Mojito: Excellent resort

The room and the bathroom was very clean ....Excellent white sandy beach....the shows were ok....could have been a bit more entertaining. The disco was not very popular....music needed to be updated more to gravitate the tourist.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Very clean, relaxing vacation

All of the staff would acknowledge with a pleasant Ola and there was always some cleaning of windows, floors, bathrooms in common areas, pool area. The rooms were generous in size and the turndown service at night was always a pleasant refresh of the room. We would return again. All 3 pool choices had something to offer every day. Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Awesome Week!

We just returned from a week at Iberostar Play Pilar (March 16 - 23), and had a fantastic time. We were in a room on the 3rd floor of Building 15 so it was a bit of a hike to the main lobby, buffet and beach, but it was nice and quiet, and had a great view of the water. The room was clean and AC worked very well! The buffet was good - servers were great and very hospitable. Food was pretty decent for Cuba - a few misses but lots of variety and we never had an issue finding anything to eat. [... read more] A la carte restaurants were overall excellent - the Japanese was hands down the best one, and Mediterranean was very good as well. The Gourmet wasn't as good as I was expecting but was still decent. Beach was a bit different than what I'm used to but I enjoyed the boardwalk and there are still lots of beach chairs on the sand to sit and have a good beach experience. The water was beautiful and clear, and snorkelling off the beach (WWII shipwreck there which was cool) was one of the highlights of the trip! We walked to Playa Pilar once from the resort and it was very nice, but we decided to just stick to using the resort beach as it was still very good and close to the all inclusive bar :) A great week and we will definitely be back!

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Very nice front beach!

Service: Beach towel service was not so great however it's there procedure to pickup a new one at 9:30 am each morning for an exchange Washrooms: by the end of the day, they don't refill the toilet paper in the common area. Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Great Vacation

This is a new hotel and we just loved everything about it. There are no cons from us in regards to this hotel but there are many pros that made our vacation amassing. Highly recommended from us for a vacation in Varadero Cuba.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Beautiful new hotel

We were a party of five adults and just came back from a week vacation in Iberostar Bella Vista Varadero. Everything about this hotel is superb. Keeping in mind that you are visiting Cuba and carry a positive attitude once on vacation, there is nothing to complain about our stay in this hotel. Iberostar Waves Dominicana: good resort, excellent beach

This was our second year in a row at the Dominca, 9th time with Iberostar. Upon arrival we asked to change rooms as our room was located facing a thatch roof to one of the restaurants and was extremely noisy. Reception told us they would be move us the next day as no rooms were available at the time. The next day, the room we were to be moved to had a problem with the air conditioner, and we had to wait another day. They did offer to move us to a junior suite, with double beds which was no [... read more]t acceptable to us. They did move us to a nicer room on day two. The frustrating part was it took a fair amount of time spent in the lobby with reception instead of enjoying the weather and sitting at the beach. The one comment I did not appreciate from the front desk staff was them saying 'you get what you pay for' in reference to the first room we were put in. I thought all the standard rooms were the same price when we booked with trip central. The food was what we expected, maybe even a bit better overall than last year. The beach is the main attraction for us and this resort has ample beach front. White sand, no rocks and you can walk for miles. We found that the staff sometimes went too far with the afternoon activities at the pool and basically would force people into participating in their games, going as far as restraining people who wanted to opt out. I know my wife didn't appreciate being forced into their bikini contest. The nightly entertainment is typical for a resort, some nights decent, some nights no so good. We did find that the staff were less attentive this year than last year, and overall are not as friendly as staff in other countries in the Caribbean. The grounds are fairly well kept. We will return to Punta Cana, but might try one of the other Iberostar resorts the next time around.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Great getaway

This resort had a lot to offer to all types of visitors. I joined my daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons, ages 10 and 7, who were on their school break, and we all enjoyed our stay. The staff, amenities, programmes, food, drinks, and of course, the beautiful Pacific, made for a wonderful time for all of us.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Fair Resort

All in all our stay at Laguna Iberostar was enjoyable. It got off to a rocky start which cost us a half a day into day two. We were initially brought to our room and discovered no door to our bolted down safe!!!! That was first of a couple of things wrong. With no safe to put our stuff in, we were forced to carry our passports around and money until it got solved. Our daughter and her boyfriend's room same thing, no door to safe. Really???? No shower head up on wall of tub. Same thing in o [... read more]ur daughter's room. Three big cigarette burn holes in our bed spread. That wasn't too inviting. We went back to desk and spoke to ladies. They sent us on a run to look at two other rooms. Again, no door to safe and one room we couldn't even get into. Also, our daughter's initial room wouldn't even automatically lock when they left. Another issue. So the front desk informed at 9ish pm to come back tomorrow around 10 to check about another room for us as people were going to be leaving then and we would have to wait till rooms got cleaned before we could move which brought us to lunch or after. When rooms were cleaned we had to go over and let ourselves in to check them out and go back to desk to let them know. We just got so annoyed with the run around we got, that we went right to Sunwing rep and in conjunction with Guest service manager they asked what they could do to make up for it. Guest manager offered us a "Private breakfast" and I said no!!! I want a massage each for all four of us!!! Our Sunwing rep made it happen. Also, they left a bottle of rum and an apology letter in our rooms. So, all in all the week went very well once those issues were fixed but we should not have been made to wait that long for it to be solved and if we had not gone to our sunwing rep I'm not sure how much more of a run around we would have gotten. Grounds, beach were all great. It's not a great feeling when you walk into a room which you are supposed to be staying at for one whole week and see unfinished things like this. Disappointed at how Cubas resorts are running down. We have been to Cuba six times and never to the same resort but it would be nice if they kept day to day maintenance on things. Hotel Mojito: Unforgetable Week!

Been there 13 years ago. Big difference now. And its all thanks to Amazing Cuban People working hard there. After devastating hurricane 6 month ago they rebuild most of the resort. Blocks, rooms, pools, restaurants in full working order. But they don't make your vacations good, people do. Service was really amazing, everybody on their heels to make you happy. Had minor problem with somebody locking up empty safe before leaving... bad boy! Was fixed within 30 min. after reporting to client servic [... read more]e. Technician even fixed my foggy picture on TV in the same visit. Later my door to bath locked me out of it. Again it was done before I knew it. Foods like good old days at home, and variety to fulfill everybody's taste. Veggie soups at lunch and dinner...Yummy! Have to learn how to cook them! Italian a la carte a must to go. Cuban People listen and learn from previous guests complains. 1st time I didn't have to bring my favourite spices. Resort deserves 4* again definitely. Hope Alyeti feels better now, we missed Her. Going back in Fall! Reserve ground floor room in blocks 14,15,16 or 19. Muchos Gracias!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Not good for what you pay

This was our 4th time at this hotel this was the worst. 2 days to get our fridge fixed. Toilet did not flush broken. 3 days no maid service. Staff would only serve you if u tipped. Food was always the same thing hot food was cold. We will not return

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Nice resort!

Hotel very clean and well maintained. Staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Resort is fully operational and cleaned up after recent hurricanes as evidenced by young landscape plantings and new beach shelters, which by the way were plentiful! Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: poolswere great

elevators did not work all the time public bathrooms for women closed by the buffet. buffet food and service not up to par. rooms were not ready for 6 hours. 6 requests for a bathtub plug took 3 days reception personnel could not speak English.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: It's was an ok resort.

The hotel has lots of potentials..but not there yet. I stayed from March 16 to the 23 and in my 7 nights stays..i had no hot water..not one time..its sure put a damper to your winter vacation..been to the public relation desk twice about it and nothing was done. The food was VERY repetitive..and very dull entertainment at night..you felt like sleeping at 9. Resort is very clean..beach awsome..pool nice but the swim up bar was close from Wednesday on due to sewage back up.. not nice at all..com [... read more]plimentary room we got to shower on our last day was dirty..eith no towels to dry ourself.. so yes there potential but there a long way to go to get there..and bare in mind it's a new resort advertised as a 4.5 stars..my room was 10202..not sure if I would return again.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Amazing experience!

I have nothing negative to say about our visit. The hotel was amazing, the staff were amazing, the food was good, we always found something to eat. One of the days we missed breakfast due to sleeping in which was a fault of our own, but our only options of food were from the snack bar. The only downside was that the snack bar only offered food such as pizza, pasta, or burgers and fries. My only recommendation would be that they offer more "breakfast type food" before lunch for those who may  [... read more]be late getting up, but other than that everything was great. There was lots to do every day, a lot of entertainment at the pool in the afternoon and the entertainment staff was really great at getting people involved. I have to say I went outside my bubble and tried a lot of things I wouldn't normally try if it weren't for them. We will definitely be back to this resort in the future. The staff and the entertainment at this resort were EXCEPTIONAL! I have to say they absolutely made the experience that much better. To anyone who is thinking of staying at Iberostar Playa Pilar you will not regret it :)

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: very good value for the money

love the accomodations. the place is clean no bugs whatsoever.... management really manage the grounds very well.... love the cats patrolling their respective territories... no bugs... no rodents... clean... nice.... food is quite good.

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Iberostar Dominicana

We very much enjoyed our first time to Punta Cana. Our travel agent Sally was very helpful. The staff at the hotel were friendly. Some of the negatives were 1. We were not made aware of the $20.00 each to leave. 2. There was no real designated smoking area which resulted in cigarette and cigar smoke everywhere. 3. The hotel keys were constantly malfunctioning. 4. The room was clean but continuously smelled of dampness and sewage oder. 5. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Excellent resort

Small to mid size resort, beautiful grounds, 3 a-la cart restaurants ( Mediterranean, Japanese, Mexican ) , 30 min from airport Beach was ok , pool was big. Service was great. Orchid garden, Ample of loungers

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Disappointed in this resort

We were very disappointed to learn that both hot tub jacuzzis were broken and the main pools were quite cold. We found the layout of the resort perfect, compact, easy and quick to get around, which we like. It was beautiful and elegant but the bars at the 2 quiet pools closed at 4 pm which was disappointing, and the main pool bar was overcrowded. There were never enough lounge chairs, palapas, or shade. We enjoyed the a la carte restaurants, pizza station, omelette station, and grills, but found the buffet food was not food we normally eat and disliked most of it. It was the same food for every meal with little variety and many dishes were over salted. This is something we have come to expect with Cuba. Although we bought wifi cards, we had a hard time getting wifi and it was down for over 24 hours at one point. The resort lost water for the last 2 days we were there and our room had no water. We couldn't shower or flush our toilet. They closed down many bathrooms at the resort, locked the doors and we only found bathrooms in the lobby opened. This made us not want to swim or drink as we had no bathroom near the pool area to go to as the lobby was too far away and we couldn't go there in wet bathing suits. Due to no water, drinks were very limited with no more Pina coladas, daquiris, or other frozen drinks. Our air conditioner did not work and was missing the magnet on the patio door which made the connection to turn on the conditioner. We complained at the front desk but it was not fixed. We were so glad to be leaving when we did and not just showing up at the beginning of our vacation. Despite the negatives, we enjoyed our excursions and vacation away.
