Valentin Perla Blanca: Enjoyable, relaxing environment

Hotel was clean, in very good condition, grounds were nice (All a few months after hurricane). Only a few very remote areas where there were any signs of damage. Staff were nice and helpful. I travelled alone and felt very safe-except for walkways at night. Still felt pretty safe but poorly lighted and no security in sight. Food was typical Cuba-no complaints. Some things not available because of hurricane damage to chips. No fault of resort. Definitely a 4.5 in my opinion. Would recommend.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Very good hotel

Amazing hotel. clean, good services. Perfect for the kids, there is a kids club. Close to many activities, swimming with dolphins, Carnival, etc The workers are very warm and the food is good. Try the pizza. I recommend it .

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great resort!!!

We enjoyed everything this resort had to offer and would recommend it to anyone...the rooms were spotless, the food was good and varied, and the sevice was exceptional!!! The beaches were unbelievable and will absolutely return to Cuba!!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great time!!!

First time to Cayo Santa Maria, though we lost one of luggage pieces, AC was very accommodating and it was returned the following night! Valentin Perla Blanca was a definite upgrade to us, as we normally stay in Varadero. Our room was in Bungalow 38, perfect location in every sense, close to the beach, next to one of the main pools/gym/pool café and right next to the main lobby bars, buffet and theatre. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Very nice resort

The good: This is a very nice resort one of the nicer ones iv stayed in in Cuba the rooms were very big and modern. The staff was generally very nice. The grounds were kept up very well especially for just being hit with a bad huricane in the fall. The beach is nice and has tons of chairs and shade. Never an issue getting a beach chair. The food on the resort is excellent for cuba lots of options for a la carts and the beach huts cook awsome rice and chicken wings. The entertain was top notch on [... read more] the resort. The bad: we had an upgraded room and it had only a small jet tub, no shower so we had to switch rooms. The maids don't leave enough toilet papper and the fridge doesn't get restocked with enough water or beer some days none at all. The courtesybathroom in the main loby for checkout day is discusting. Not even close to enough chairs by the pool. There is an adult pool and a pool for the kids, all the kids were always at the adult pool splashing everyone and swimming around the swim up bar. And the kids pool which is as big as the adult pool was a ghost town. The ground workers were jack hammering cement most mornings at 730 on the walkways on the resort.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Cuba is a wonderful place. This hotel is ok.

Golden tulip had a beautiful beach area, and 3 nice pools plus a kids pool. Rooms are clean. The communication piece at this resort was really lacking. 24 hour snack bar seemed to only be open for lunch and almost never had any snacks of any kind. The buffet opened at 6:30, but there was usually a line up waiting for the doors to open after 7. The Cuban people are generally friendly and pleasant, but we found that the majority of the service staff here seemed really unhappy? Overworked? Sick o [... read more]f people? Regardless of the reason there were a lot of staff that seemed inconvenienced. This is a fine hotel to go to, but I wouldn't choose it again.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great Resort

clean. Always had chairs available around the pool and the beach, even if we were during Spring break. The food was ok for Cuban standard. Did not hear anyone we meet to complain about this hotel. We had a great time.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Nice place to go....

We visited Feb 27 - mar. 9 2018. The resort was nice with some small things to mention. The food nice , a change to the buffet 2-3 times a week would be good. The spraying of insecticide during the dinner hour all around the eating area and in the morning just before breakfast was a big turn-off for us. It flowed through the lobby resort like a gas , choking some of us bad , followed by headaches. Our room was well kept by our maid , Maria. The people are nice and and the waitress in the lobby bar special. Bartenders work hard as do all there. I think the ladies work harder than the men . That's a given almost everywhere in this world today . Was a great trip. Had a great time with friends we met there. We hope to return again one day . Thank you for the memory .

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: very nice vacation

The hotel and beach were lovely, staff was very nice. The food selection was repetitive, but all of it was tasty. Just wish that there was more variety. I would like to return if the food selection improves.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Best resort we've been to in 10 years!

My husband and I visited the Golden Tulip for a week in March- we were surprised with an ocean view room very close to everything! Would definitely return- beach was beautiful, pools were amazing, and the view everywhere on the resort was spectacular

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Worth the Price!

This is a nice, clean resort. The check in was well-organized and we were greeted with a refreshment. Beach: The beach is very short, but beautiful to run or stroll. The staff members were available all day to help find a lounger and set it up for you. They went above and beyond. There are lots of shaded loungers at the beach. The only issue was getting a lounger close to the bar and bathrooms. No issue if you reserved seating early in the morning. Hopefully that issue will be rectifie [... read more]d once the “sister” adult resort on the other end of the beach opens in September. The servers on the beach and at the beach bar/grill were fantastic. It was amazing how the server walking the beach remembered all those orders that he had tucked in his smock and on his large tray, carrying them from one end of the beach to the other. All staff worked very hard trying to please the many requests of guests and with a smile. The morning stretch and dance lessons were both enjoyable. There was always a beach volleyball game taking place each morning. Pool: The pool area is clean and had lots of loungers. Again finding shaded loungers was an issue unless you reserve it early. The pool bar was somewhat busy but not a very long wait. Staff were friendly. Entertainment around the pool was fun, but they were not forceful. You could participate or just sit back and watch. They had water aerobics, games and dance in the pool daily. A suggestion would be to replace the umbrellas that are have been broken from the wind with more secure covers. Food: Food was very good. The buffet provides stations with fresh pizza/calzones; pasta; fish, chicken and beef. Each chef worked very hard trying to move each line along quickly. The served tried to serve all the demands but seemed to be overwhelmed. A couple times we had to get our own water or utensils. Not that we mind serving ourselves, but not very sanitary. Although the area looked clean, one other issue was tables were never wiped clean before others were seated. I contribute these issues to the resort being under-staffed. Add more staff especially in this area and it may alleviate these issues. The a al carte restaurants were fantastic. We enjoyed the food, wine and service in all three -- very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Servers were very professional. The snack bar was our favourite place to have breakfast. Although the selection of the buffet was not there, it offered a sufficient breakfast. Great items on the menu for lunch as well. Drinks were great too. The servers and bartenders went above and beyond. The beach grill was a great place to eat lunch as well. They offered sandwiches and burgers, with a smile and conversation too. There was never a wait here. The restaurant down by the beach was wonderful too. It was set up buffet style daily. Great place to sit out of the sun and enjoy a larger lunch without going to the pool or the buffet restaurant. Cleanliness: The rooms are kept very clean. I can only credit this to the maids. We had no issues with our accommodations here. The bathrooms around the resort were always kept clean. The chamber maids were never far from the bathroom if they weren’t already in there cleaning. The maid in the snack bar was often seen cleaning the floors. The tables in the snack bar “appeared” to be wiped after each guest (unlike the buffet restaurant). Wi-Fi: The cards are 1 peso. Getting access was not an issue in the lobby or rooms. We were able to get access at times on the beach. It was worth the cost. Lobby/Bar: The lobby was the “place” to be in the evening if you are interested in sitting back listening to the live music each night or partaking in a dance with your partner before the show begins at 9:30pm. It is very low key. If you want to kick up your heels, wait for the disco to open later in the Havana Sports Bar. DJ is great there too. There is often a wait at the bar for a drink, or you can sit back in your chair and have one of the servers bring it to you. Again there are new bartenders, so be patient. We all have been learning at some point in our lives. Shows: The entertainment in the theatre each night was great. The shows lasted an hour. There were lots of laughs watching the professional dancers interact with the hotel guests. Overall, this is a lovely resort. The dog living on this resort was a deterrent since I have a fear of dog. Whether or not we will return, will be seen. We don’t typically return to the same resort. However, I suggest you give it a try! It was worth the expense we paid.

Melia Las Dunas: Another Unforgettable Time in Cayo Santa Maria

Beautiful layout. Lobby opens up to the beach in the background. Main lobby was always so lively and the Beer Gardens made the trip. Cold beer bottles and food at any time was incredible, especially with the lovely service of Hassan and Juan Carlos. Also the service of Alia, Kiri and Andry at the Family Pool swim-up bar. They love their jobs and love their people and I’d recommend this place to anyone. Cheers Melia Las Dunas!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: an excellent resort

very clean and lush garden in the hotel area.Food in buffe was impressive and a lot to choose.Room was clean avreeday.Most impressive was the beach we really enjoy swimming and walk along the beach.We are looking forword for next winter on holliday to iberostar hotel

Valentin Perla Blanca: Not the best.

In short the food was okay although always cold from the buffet. The room was tidied daily although not adequate supplies and when we called guest services there was little to no response to get towels or toilet paper. The east side had a nasty sewer leak which they worked on but it was not till the end of the stay it was addressed. The beach and west "Relax" pool was awesome. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: The best resort in Cuba!

Everything is perfect! Beaches are beautifull. The best kitchen in Cuba. Staff very friendly. When arrive to long wait for room up to 6 pm. Quite place. The best place to relax. Ocean water very clean. Beaches white and very clean. Swimming pools very clean and warm.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Basic Resort

The grounds, pools and snackbar were OK. The hotel is too large and too many kids there, biggest complaint is the bar, way too busy at night too much going on in one place and poor service. I slipped on a wet floor in the disco and broke my wrist, this obviously ruined my vacation, but cuban doctors were very good even though the time after the accident was a complete ordeal.

Melia Las Dunas: Loved everything about our Vacation :)

Our first trip to Cuba, and it has surpassed our expectations. My husband and daughter would agree as well. Beach was the most beautiful one we had ever seen, we enjoyed long walks looking and the seashells. Always chairs at the pool or beach. we were a group of 7 and never had any problems. Food was good too, we enjoyed the pasta & stirfry stations at the buffet & the Snack bar by the pool. we had a nice relaxing vacation, exactly what we were looking for and MORE!!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Resort

I was not impressed. Clogged drains, no tv, no phones although there was 2 phones in the room, they didn't work. The food was not great. The service was good. Our rooms were kept clean.. Although our agent requested rooms on the first floor because of disabilities, the rooms they had for us were on the 3rd floor. I explained about our request and why and they finally gave us 2 rooms on the first floor that belonged to someone else. But, they forgot to clear the room cards for these people, all o [... read more]f a sudden the door opened and a few guys were there wondering why we were in their room. It also happened to Nella and Josephine's room, ab inch of guys walked in with their key. These 2 ladies are 79 & 84. They were quite scared with this intrusion.

Melia Las Dunas: Best resort I've been to in Cuba so far!!

Hard to find anything bad with this amazing resort at all! The rooms are more then comfortable, stocked and cleaned everyday. The staff were amazing and lobby and sports bar were my favorite part, but was an amazing resort for couples or entire families. Great food and non stop entertainment! Can't wait to go back!!!!!!!!!
