Resonance Blu Varadero: Disappointing Hotel

We arrived to the hotel Memories Varadero late morning Saturday. We checked in and went to our rooms. There were no sheets on the mattress and no towels in the room. It looked like it had not been cleaned yet. When we reported it to the front desk, they said that there were no sheets or towels in the hotel yet. They send the linen out of the hotel to clean. We were a group of 15 and had six rooms. All rooms did not have linen. It was 5 pm and still no linens. We asked to be moved to room [... read more]s closer to the beach and the activity pool. We got moved and there were sheets on the bed and towels in the bathroom. The sheets and towels were stained and grungy. We had the same beach towels all week. Again, to beach towels to be able to change. The food at the buffet was limited. It is very bland. They ran out of dishes so had to wait for them. There seems to be no supervisor. Staff are very slow. No order at the buffet lines. Drinks are different at every bar. They seem to run out of drinks that they advertise. Entertainment is the best we have seen at any of the other all inclusive we have been to. I realize that the rating of 4 stars is different in Cuba than in the America's but it is not even a 3 star. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Memories Paraiso: The beach is the only positive thing I have to say....

The resort forgot to provide our room detail package to the bus guide so we were told it would be waiting at the hotel for us. We arrived, waitied in the check in line for over an hour only to be told our paperwork was missing because our room wasn't ready and to come back after 4pm (approx 3 hours later). We were not offered any food, snacks, or water and told that the buffet opened at 1pm and to go there. After eating we went down to visit the beach (the most amazing beach I've ever seen). We  [... read more]went back to check in, waited another half hour, paperwork took another 15minutes to find. We were taken by golf cart to one of the furthest buildings only to find our room's door open and the cleaner just getting started. We left our suitcases, went back to the beach, and then back again to get ready for dinner. Our fridge was completely empty (not even water) toilet didn't work, neither did the phones. When we went to customer service she looked at me and laughed, saying "that's it? That's the big problem?" And handed me a bottle of water. The resort boasts many à la carte restaurants on their website (I wanted to visit the steakhouse on my birthday) only to find out we get 2 reservations per week and only had two choices, Italian or Med. When confronted about the other restaurants described on their website,we were told they were part of the marketplace next door and were not included. We could go but it was at our own cost. We were told we could use a debit card to book tours thru Nexus but they only took credit cards, the lady told us to take a taxi to the ATM so we did, cost us about $15cdn. We got to the ATM and a man at the entry looked at my card, shook his head and turned me away. We returned to tell the Nexus guide what happened she giggled and said sorry and THEN wished me a Happy Birthday as I walked away. The resort was full of locals which doesnt bother me at all IF they didn't receive preferential treatment over the rest of us non-Spanish speaking people. Their 24hr snack bar/restaurant was NEVER open...we generally went all day without any snacks between meals, and ended up spending a fortune on hotel chips and chocolate bars. My husband was even swatted like a fly when attempting to get some fruit before it opened for the lunch hours...WORST resort EVER

Sol Turquesa Beach: Fabulous resort

This was our family's first vacation and we will have the best memories ever!I only have wonderful things to say about this resort. The surroundings and landscaping were exquisite, the staff were all extremely friendly and kind, pools were clean and they had a variety of food to please everyone! My teenagers also had a wonderful times and formed friendships with quite a few teens that were also at the resort! We will definitely return!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great resort for the family

I had a week stay with my family of 8 (including seniors and children) and we had an amazing time. We took advantage of the promotional upgrade to Diamond Club when we booked and it was well worth it. All of the staff are extremely friendly and courteous. The rooms are large and the bathroom with the separated shower, toilet, and sink area is genius. The beaches are beautiful, with lots of water sport options available. The entertainment team works hard to have lots of activities and shows for t [... read more]he guests. The food is as you expect in a Cuban resort, but it has a good variety. I think the food is better than the resort I last stayed in Varadero last year. Although there aren't as many tours available as in Varadero, there were plenty to choose from. My family and I did the Bay Adventure tour to Cayo Saetia and it was a great day, despite the long travel to the island. Cayo Saetia is so picturesque and I recommend it. The safari tour of the island was great for the kids. Overall, Memories Holguin is a wonderful resort for the whole family with fantastic staff. Highly recommended.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Was a wonderful vacation to repeat as many times you can

Clean rooms, beautiful landscapes, gorgeous pools, great food,and fantastic entertainment for all ages The most important excellent people Safe for everyone you feel like in paradise and time is your enemy you don't want to leave you really wish for the clock to stop

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great beach, ok resort

Pick up from airport and bus ride was comfortable. Check in was slow. Rooms were ok, not terrible. Upgraded to Diamond Club. Food was good, not great. Romantic restaurant was surprisingly very good. Beach was beautiful, best part of the trip. Spa was depressing, but staff was amazing at the spa. Weather was perfect. Our stay was only four days, relaxing on the beach was perfect - but I don't think I would have wanted to stay any longer.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Not so bad.

Unfortunately, I was not has happy has I first stay 2 years ago at Memories Carribe. Let me start with the positive things about it. Beach...outstanding, beautiful, well maintained, plenty of places to seat. Grounds are absolutely well maintained. Piano Bar my favorite place. Staff outstanding. They are happy people, very kind. Buffet area, no air conditioning, hot like hell to eat in there, this should definitely be improved. Food not so bad, I always found something to eat, breakfast was my fa [... read more]vorite meal. Pizza on beach and fries and hotdogs at bar very good. Room was ok, but AC was hardly working, that for me was my major issue. Both rooms were at 30-32 every day. We complained but they said they were having problems with their system. I asked around and most people were having the same problem. This is huge with no AC in the rooms and hot like crazy outside, you need to cool of somewhere. This should be fixed ASAP.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Vacay at Memories Caribe Cayo CocoCuba

I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the resort. Spacious rooms well maintained and clean. Beautiful gardens meticulously manicured, friendly and curious staff that we just loved, and a breathtaking beach! Great places to hang out - the piano bar, snack bar and around the pool. Only downside was the buffer- slim pickings. The pizza and grill at the beach was great as well as the snack bar at the pool. The buffet had fresh pasta and sir fry every-night along with fresh grilled fish of the day. Different grilled meat - roasted pork or chicken was very good. The beef not so much. The a la carte Asian was great and fast service. The international rest also great. Resort pets a plus!!! It's becoming a adults only nov. 2016. Oh also the allegria water show at the pool with prof. Dancers also a must see!!

Grand Memories Varadero: Great getaway!

From the very beginning this trip was fantastic. Our trip central agent Nicole was so helpful, I have travelled to the Caribbean many times and so far she has been the best of all my experiences. Loved all the additional destination info and support! Now for the trip itself! The grounds of Grand Memoriws hotel are very well kept and the trees, shrubs and flowers are beautiful. Our room was close to the beach, was kept very clean, and had everything we needed. An added bonus was the AC was very [... read more] efficient so walking in from the hot sun felt so refreshing, great for sleeping. Keeping in mind that this is Cuba and food options may be limited, or different to what you are used to, the food was quite good. You could always find something to eat, and the lobster lunches at the gourmet restaurant were superb. We loved our dinner there and at the Italian restaurant the most of all. But thise lobster lunches truly makes this resort something special! The animation staff are friendly and enthusiastic, but not pushy, a huge bonus! Loved the pool foam party, it was lots of fun! The pool bartenders were amazing, super fast and very friendly. We did the catamaran day trip as well which was great, loved the dolphin experience!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Your Next Destination Location

Memories Flamenco is a great place to visit. The entertainment crew is amazing and will keep you entertained all day long. The food was good- don't forget to bring your hot sauces, the water amazing- a little rocky but if you have water shoes your perfect. Will be going again next summer.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Awesome resort

The staff were very nice and efficient. Our room was always beautifully cleaned and our view was outstanding. The drinks were amazing as Well as the bar service. The food was great especially the dinners. Entertainment was great and the environment was pleasant, definitely will be heading back soon!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Incredible Resort/Trip

This trip was amazing. It was my first time anywhere tropical but for some of my friends it was like their seventh. Our resort was very accommodating as we were 9 people and they got us rooms all on the same floor close to each other. The buffet was actually quite good. There was a large variety of food to chose from, it doesn't really vary from day to day but it's everything you need. They actually had ketchup. Not a lot of it, but they had it. Our maid was incredible, we stayed in rooms 27109, 27110, 27112 and 27115 and she always had our rooms clean. Our stuff was never misplaced or stolen and she was so friendly. The jeep safari tour was absolutely incredible, we went snorkelling, swimming in a cave, horse back riding, and more. If you get the chance to do it you must! The animation team was beyond amazing. There was always something to do at the pool or beach during the day and the activities were a lot of fun. The other guys said this resort was the best one they've ever been to because of the activities. We also rented to scooters and went to downtown varadero, where the water was crystal clear. We honestly had the time of our lives. If you're planning on going to cuba go to memories. you wont regret it.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Memories splash

The airport in Punta Cana is a gong show. Long, never ending lines that are confusing and miss managed. We waited 4 hours between landing and arriving at our resort, despite being the first dropped off the shuttle bus. Next we experienced the check in, once again long lines, but this part was dog eat dog. If you can speak Spanish and you don't mind dirty looks from others you can cut the line and yell for service and get your room before others. Food was fair typical Dominican Beach too [... read more] far and too many stones Pools were nice Rooms clean enough but housekeeping was later in the day

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Not up to par

The grounds were nice and maintained, but the service was horrible. Most of the wait staff refused to help out or get anything that wasn't at their station. They also never had spoons. There were a few amazing employees.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Meh resort, brilliant beach

This was my 4th time in Cuba and I guess I must have stayed at some really nice resorts in the past because I was quite disappointed with this one. The room they put us in was disgusting. It had mold on the walls, smelt stale and beds were hard as a rock. The moved us to the 2nd level and the room was way better but the AC didn't work!! Memories Caribe Beach Resort: avarage resort

We went to Memories Carbie resorts and spa. The beach is beautiful. We loved it. There is a lot of mosquitos and black Flys. In the rooms there is a king bed. Don't leave sweets open theres alot of sweet liking ants .

Grand Memories Varadero: A Good Experience Overall

The overall service is fair, there were issues with room service. They wouldn't leave towels or water bottles some days. The day we landed we had no paper tower, towels, or water bottles in the room. Called reception and the room service took an hour to bring us paper towels. My mom couldn't walk to the beach as they put us in wing 11 which is far from the beach and whenever we called the cart we had to wait 30-50 mins for it to come. There were no reservations for a la carte dinners for all of  [... read more]us together (9 adults), the only way to get in those dinners was to split into smaller groups and go to different restaurants. The food was good and so was the pool. Rooms were not up to 5 start standard and neither was the service. They really need to add fans to their lobby area, there is no cross ventilation there and it gets so humid and hot. You can only use internet in the lobby and the service is not so great plus with no fans or cross ventilation in the lobby it was so hard to use the internet.
