Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great Value

This is our second time at this resort and it hasn't disappointed. Very clean, great service and beautiful grounds. Expect about 90 min trip from the airport which is a bit of a drag and eats away a lot of your arrival and departure days.

This resort is GREAT!!!!!! Heather Kalinin and Beatrice Caldwell would stay here again and will be returning in the future. The staff are great very clean. The food too was great we had no complaints at all. Over all we would recommend this resort as a 10 plus. Beatrice Caldwell

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Amazing vacation!

We really enjoyed our week at Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa. The resort is built on a cliff overlooking the bay and the village of Samana. Beautiful views from everywhere you are. We had a room in the main building, with a view overlooking the pool, and the ocean. Our room wasn’t very big, but was clean and had everything we needed. On our arrival, we had a nice welcoming surprise in our room, a bottle of champagne with a a plate of cold cuts, cheese and crackers. Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Fantisia For some

This resort is set up for children. There is plenty of luxury for the adult crow also. The shows at night were lively and full of colourful costumes. However the songs are mostly in Spanish (was understandable)but my grandsons lost interest pretty quick. Was a bit disappointed in the bathrooms as only one had a urinal at kids height. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Awesome time

The resort was beautiful! The grounds keepers don’t get enough recognition for that. Staff was so friendly, food was great, and drinks were cold. The ocean was nice 👍 but beach wasn’t the greatest. Pools were clean. Rooms were very clean and stocked very well with all toiletries...never ran out of towels, coffee, drinks etc. Would totally recommend this resort! Only complaint I had is that there is no reward for being a return guest.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Awesome Trip

The hotel was very nice. The food was excellent. Lots of it. You certainly don't starve. People were friendly and very helpful. Although the hotel was huge, it was easy to get around with the help of trolleys taking you to your destination. We had easy access to the beach which was awesome. The lobby was huge and beautifully decorated. Only drawback was that it closed around 11:00. Entertainment is excellent. A fun way to end your evening. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Nice but needs some tender loving care.

The grounds were nice but buildings in need of some repair. The food was bland but expected for the price. Pools were nice but people would put there towels out and leave the area so no place to sit when you, got to the pool. And I also got food poisoning at one restaurant eating the shrimp. Very very very sick for one day. Don't eat the sea food. This was the 2nd. time at this resort, and it has gone down hill since our first trip there. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great resort

We found our room to be really nice, they have been recently updated and it shows. They are very clean, in fact, the whole resort is kept very clean. The pool and beach area are great, we were able to find lounge chairs any time of day (even if they were prime spots, they were still available). They lobby area was super nice to hang around and had a nice vibe. We found the manager from morning till night walking around, greeting guests and being available.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Best vacation ever, Loved Grand Bahia, 5 stars all the way

We travelled on a family vacation to Grand Bahia in Runaway Bay. There were 9 of us including three children ages 1, 8 and 10. We had an amazing time at our stay. The hotel went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Customer service was exceptional. Hotel booked our dinner reservations in advance and our rooms were decorated with balloons for our anniversary celebrations. Rooms were fantastic with breathtaking view of the ocean. Beach area was always clean and great for families. This was our first time to Jamaica and we would return in a heartbeat. I think what makes this place special is how friendly and accommodating the staff is. We loved Jamaican people and cannot wait to return. Thank you Grand Bahia Principe for making our stay fantastic.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great experience

We had a great experience at the Grand Bahia Prinicipe. The food was excellent, the room was beautiful and clean, the hotel grounds were beautiful. Very large resort, with lots to do. Lobby area was very nice to enjoy the evening, it would be nice to have refreshments available later into the night.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Amazing Beach

Probably the best beach we have ever seen. Resort was nice, but many of the staff had difficulty understanding english. Food good, pool nice and good rooms. Understaffed at the bars, took quite a long time to get drinks. Even though signs said no reserving seats under the palapas, all were taken before 8 a.m.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Worst Vacation Ever!!!

Resort is not a 5 star, by any means. Pools are old and outdated. Nightly entertainment is very poor. Lobby bar shuts down at 11:00. Rooms are gross. Bed is like concrete even after we requested a foam topper. Rooms are moldy and smelled awful. All a la cartes were booked solid upon arrival except a few 9:30 and 10:00 slots. Spent 75% of our vacation either on a golf cart train or waiting for one to get from point A to point B, mostly to be told no over and over again. Not a butler to be seen yet was promised in the advertisement. Frustrating, tiring and exhausting even just to get to and from dinner. We both could not wait to leave the resort. Asked for a ride to the golf course and was told no. Asked numerous trains for rides and was told no. Concierge offered a bottle of wine?? Ummm...what??! It’s all inclusive! Asked for 2 bags of ice for a medical condition and got a half bucket of ice for drinks. I feel the whole resort is a joke and the best part was when we went off resort and when the vacation was over. I’ve been to 5 star resorts along the Riviera Mayan7 times in total. This was a huge letdown. I was actually embarrassed as it was my spouse’s first time to Mexico. My recommendation is do not go here. You will be disappointed, told no a lot, and spend a lot of time riding a golf cart train..or waiting for one.

Loved the room, balcony and poolside. Food overall was excellent, the buffet and all the a la carte restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful. Corridors outside rooms were not always kept as clean as expected. Very hard to get a lounging chair on the beach or around pools as guests reserve them early.

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: AMAZING VIEWS

We took the Roulette because it was the best deal and we didn't care where we ended up. We stayed at the Cayocoa resort and it was beautiful. There is lots of stairs and hills but they have little shuttle buses if you need them. We stayed in Villa 10 on the hill and the view was fantastic. Food was very good and the resort was SUPER clean! Staff are friendly and helpful. Only free WIFI in the lobby is a little disappointing. There were some small maintenance issues with our room but they w [... read more]ere fixed very quickly. Five pools and two beach areas made it easy to find a lounge chair without having to get up at 7:00 a.m. (unless you want the main (noisy) pool as that filled up quickly). Highly recommend it.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good resort

Good food, good service and good rooms. Large resort requires much walking or taking rides on shuttle cars that run regularly. We had an issue with articles of clothing that went missing from our room. Still waiting for report from hotel.

We stayed here the week of Feb 10 to Feb 17. The resort is very big we stayed at the Bahia Principe Punta Cana there is 7 resorts in this complex. Food was excellent was a bit disappointed as we had upgraded bracelets so we could book 4 a la cartes but we only got to go to the Japanese as the others had awful time either too early in the day or late 9:00 9:30 which would mean we would miss the shows. The shows at night were awesome especially the circus and magic show. Beach was wonderful. Rooms [... read more] were well cleaned by staff. Language was a bit of an issue as most of the staff could not understand or speak English they were friendly and tried. Getting around was a bit of a challenge as you could only use trolleys. That said the trolleys were always running so you never had to wait long. Was also kind of disappointed with the lobby as they shut the lights at about 11:00 and no bar service was available. You had to take the trolly to the 24 hour outdoor bar by the beach. Overall it was a great vacation.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: lovely,nice resort

grounds, hotel, rooms, food were all very good. Beautiful location, view of the mountains awesome! lovely beach, and nice for strolling along.Food, lots of choices at each meal! Could have more choices for alcohol, ie. rye whiskey(like Canadian club or something similar).Very well laid out, private pool was an nice added touch! Circus show was amazing!!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Snorkeler's Paradise

Of the three resorts we have been to in the Dominican Republic this was by far the best. The rooms were more than adequate rivalling some of the 5-star resorts I have been to in Hawaii and the Middle East. The rum was free flowing and the staff amenable. The only problem I had was there was an occasional shortage of water; as is common in any Dominican resort. Another point of note was there were two beach bars open to all resort patron and the pool bar was not a swim up. (Thus I felt more c [... read more]omfortable swimming in the pool) Of particular note was the coral reef that was part of the resort's beach. With the breakers being at the start of the reef, 500 meters offshore, the waters we usually calm and clear enough to snorkel and watch sea life just steps into the water. The vibrant reef continues right up to the breakers if you are brave enough to swim past the boundary buoys. It's a great spot of the novice to expert snorkelers. Highly recommend this beach.

The grounds and gardens were very well kept and had a wide variety of birds and other animals wandering around which I loved. There were many pools to go to so it never felt crowded. The hotel lobby,bathrooms and our room was always kept clean and well stocked. Staff were very friendly and eager to help with any issues. The variety of food and how it was displayed was very inviting and it was excellent. The drinks were very good and made to order. We found this resort was simply too big. Overall the hospitality and guest service was poor at best. Staff were more engaged with their cell phones and each other than on hotel guests. It was challenging to get a cup of coffee, glass of water or a drink at the buffet restaurants. The initial welcome was frustrating. My husband had numerous bites. We noted that many other guests were also covered in red welts. Cleanliness in general was very good and gardens and grounds were pristine. Food was good but Luke warm at best especially at the buffet. Al a carte restaurants were hit and miss. Italian and The Japanese tapenyaki were the best because all 3 courses were served to your table. Pools were great, beach was beautiful. Beach chairs were a tough find every day. We woke up early to reserve. Lots of empty chairs on the Esmeralda side but they were off limits to PC resort guests.
