Valentin Cayo Cruz: Beautiful Resort

The resort was very beautiful. The staff went out of their way to help you. The layout of the resort was good. A little bit of walking, but not too much. The week was so windy. so it made it hard to enjoy the beach.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Worst trip ever

Sheets and blankets were dirty and blood stained room was dirty . Food was horrible. Staff was rude and unhelpful.shower handle broken and on the floor . Toilet seat didnt fit . Poolside view to a closed pool

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Bad Awful Don't Go

Don't trust anything you're told about the Grand Aston. Can't get food without 2hr waits (if they have any left), no a la carte resos available, and portions are hilariously small. Staff won't bring you water unless you buy it from the housekeepers. Beaches are fine, that's the only positive.

Paradisus Los Cayos: ?????

Loved our stay at this hotel. The staff is absolutely amazing, attentive, caring and genuine. The beach is incredible with white sand and the bluest turquoise water. I picked seashells, floated in calm waters and jumped into playful waves all in the sane week. For a large hotel, it surprisingly felt very homey. We got to know the staff who always went above and beyond to ensure the best vacation for us, We stayed in one of the reserve swimout rooms. Lovely room with a standalone tub where [... read more] we could have warm bathes and a nice glass of wine overlooking the private terrace with a balinese bed stretching out to the swimout. Steps away from the Reserve allnight lobby bar with the best coffee and drinks of the entire resort!! What food shortages? We had lobster at one of the restaurants, and the next night it was also served at the buffet. Anything that wasn’t available was always provided with an alternative, and would usually be available the next day. I discovered Tasty Banana chips as a healthier fries alternative thanks to this hotel, and i certainly never felt lacking. Highly highly recommend!! This one is a hidden and under rated gem!!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Staff aren't welcoming

I booked this resort knowing that there's shortages of food and supplies but I didn't realize that it also lack customer service. Neither receptionists nor the wait staff make you feel welcome. Whenever you asked them something I sensed that they are not willing to help by their tone of voice. Same with the wait staff. Even with tips and gifts, my room was hardly cleaned and our beach towel was only changed twice in a week. I almost feel that they took us ( tourists) for granted. I can accept that they are short on certain food and supplies but to not have customer service is not acceptable. The only nice thing about this resort is the immaculate beach. I do not recommend this place.

Melia Cayo Coco: 2nd Time is Even Better!

The resort is just for adults so it is quiet and not crowded. It is easy to walk to the amazing white sand beach, the pool and all restaurants. The grounds are kept impeccably and the rooms are clean. There is not any shortage of food and you can always find something to enjoy. Ask Ronnie to take you out on one of the resort’s catamarans to see a beautiful coral reef and many tropical fish just off of our beach! We stayed 10 days this year and will be back!

Paradisus Varadero: Lots of unforced errors and shortages made trip not that enjoyable

Had problems with some staff not getting some problems fixed with our room. We spoke to our porter multiple times about no working TV and it never did get fixed. We also had a leaking toilet that caused issues most of the week. Lots of food and drink shortages were also a massive problem and spoiled the trip. For breakfast there was no bacon at all all week. There was also no maple syrup for pancakes and half the week there was no butter either. For Omelettes, early in the week th [... read more]ere was green peppers, onions, cheese, ham etc as ingredients. For the last few days there was nothing but eggs. There was no orange juice all week either. Bring your own Ketchup and Mustard, as their version of it is awful. I ordered a steak one night and it was supposed to be beef, but came out as pork. There was no beef except one specialty restaurant had it one night and we thought it was poor tasting. There was also no french fries all week, no potatoes of any kind actually, no regular hamburgers, although they did make a pork burger that they passed off as a hamburger and my wife liked it. There was also no Cristal Beer, which is the Cuban beer people usually drink and like. We like Strawberry and Banana Dacquiri's. They did not have them, with no supply on the mix for them. In your room fridge, at other resorts you would almost certainly get beer, pop and water in your fridge to drink. We had two kids drinking boxes and were told they didn't have enough beer or pop to supply the rooms. To me that is the most very basic things that you should be supplied with. At one point, pop on the resort was only down to Fanta orange and no cola or anything else. They do have some excellent staff, from the bartenders at the bars, to the restaurant staff and the golf cart drivers are all helpful and very attentive to your needs. We just felt at the end of the day, we did not get anywhere close to the value that we should have had for the price we paid. We feel for the staff having to deal with these issues constantly. If you are thinking of this resort, make sure others are saying these issues have been dealt with before booking. We cannot recommend.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Horrible Experience

Unpleasant experience overall. The staff exhibited rudeness, the food left much to be desired, and to add to the dismay. There was a discernible overflow from the septic system in the pathway adjacent to our room. Due to our delayed arrival, we were unable to secure a room in the designated adult section. Unfortunately, seeking assistance or posing questions often resulted in encountering some, though not all, staff members who displayed discourteous behaviour.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great time

We went here in last week of feb 2024 with my family, 2 adults and 3 kids(9,7,2). We had a wonderful time, kids loved it here. Everything is very close, beach, pool, buffet. Food was on healthy side which i loved, lots of veggies, fruits, they had chicken, beef, fish. Zero complaints, its an excellent place. There were no cockroaches which was the biggest thing for me. Unfortunately, this Cuban place is plaqued like the other resorts with who i refer to as a Mr ShoutyPants whose job is to use loudspeakers to deafen guests in poolside activities most retired folks don't want to be bothered with

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great resort

Very clean , friendly staff , great drinks . If your not a picky eater you will be more than happy you chose this resort. Never a shortage of food but if your a fussy eater you may not like a lot. We survived on sandwiches and fruit and it was delicious . I would definitely go back

Sanctuary Cayo Largo: Great trip and staff at Tripcentral and the Sanctuary were great

We loved the single cabins. the space was amazing. Always had hot water. The hot tubs weren't too hot, but ask Alex and he will turn it up. They clean the hot tub and the pool. The staff at Sanctuary Grand memory work super hard and are soooo nice. Mariales is the waitress who is sooo attentive. Osmani and Hose the bartenders made great drinks and friendly and patient with me as I kept forgetting their name. Rozmil at the reception always answered my question. food was good. no issues. lesson  [... read more]though, bring peanut butter and ketchup. never thought of it and didn't really need it. they did run out of wine, so that was a bit of an issue, but we went to other resorts and had a few glasses there. so, no biggy. this is a quiet place for 50 plus, which is what we wanted. thank you for a fabulous week. we will definitely book again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good resort but no longer a 5 star

Check in was a joke, At least 20 people came in on same plane and arrived at 1, all told at Front desk that check in was at 4 and collected all passports. When everyone came back at 4 pm only one person checking in everyone and was obvious no pre work done. Took 10 minutes a couple to check in. First day no towels in room, took 2 trips to get towels. Requested distilled water and while front desk said it would be in room never brought the whole week. Some bar staffs English is lacking so order [... read more]ing of drinks was a spin of the wheel. Bartenders in Piano bar, cigar bar and down at beach were excellent. Cleaning and maintenance of washroom nearest beach was non existent all week. Rarely was there toilet paper in the public wash rooms. You did not want to know what you were stepping into every time you went in. 2 out of 4 people in group had signs of food poisoning. Bar fridge left empty all week. Doors missing off the closet. This was my 4th time at this resort. My rating have gone from original Paradisus delivers on first visit to now this is a 3.5 star at best. As a side note it was very annoying to find out that other guests who came in after 1 pm were given rooms well before 4 pm. First impressions count and how Melia manages this resort has negatively impacted how I view this brand. I recognize Cuba has issues with supplies but most of the issues in this resort appear to be around personnel management, maintenance and food prep.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Very nice and clean!

As soon as we entered into the lobby there was a good vibe. Everything was clean lots of seating and very comfortable. The room was quite spacious. Had a little trouble with locking and unlocking the safe but I think it was due to batteries needing to be changed. It was great to have the option for room service as my granddaughter used it often for ordering from the snack bar. Drinks were good. I enjoyed the food. The grounds were well cared for and all staff were very friendly and hard working. The beach was absolutely amazing. I have travelled quite a bit over Asia, US, Caribbean, Jamaica, DR and this was my first trip to Cuba and I found the beach with its clear and turquoise water was absolutely stunning. I didn’t attend most of the events because my granddaughter only wanted to do the beach and we loved the beach. Lots of loungers and shade if you wanted shade or full sun if you wanted full sun. Hotel Rancho Luna: You get what you pay for

A week of February 23, easy, quick transit from the airport. Easy check in. Standard room modest , bathroom outdated but all working. Very comfortable bed. Modest buffet food but tasty. Nice, clean facility, nice lobby, drinks very limited, coffee bellow average. You pay for your Wifi. 40 hours $ 8.00. Small but nice beach, absolutely amazing coast line between the hotel beach and public beach. Staff ok but not happy. Cienfuegos worth to see. beautiful. An excellent food and drinks, bars and en [... read more]tertainment. Paid $ 715 a person, worth every penny.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: The resort is good

I find it very clean and the workers are really good and friendly. They are hurting with their supply of food and drinks since Covid and the different embargo’s. But there was always something to eat. The staff have their hours cut due to the lack of tourists. Talking to them, they feel it will take them a few years to recover.

Memories Cayo Largo: A week of happiness at Memories Cayo Largo

This place is amazing, small island with the turquoise color of the sea and long white beaches.. But despite some problems and small lack, the beach, the sun and the beauty of the place makes me forget all that. The resort was great, the staff was super helpful and made my vacation special. We spent most of time on the beautiful and virgin beach next to our hotel and one day at Playa Paraiso - just a short ride away. We spent a great day at sea aboard a comfortable catamaran, see iguanas on a vi [... read more]rgin island, stop for snorkeling, see coral fish, sting ray and even a shark. I like to say thank you to everyone of staff who listens to our needs. The animation team is amazing: dynamic, positive, and energetic! And the band for fantastic music playing everyday. The buffet was good, and we had a good dinner at the a la carte restaurant. A HUGE thank you to Daniel Rodriguez M. for helping to create my stay lovely and very pleasant. Most importantly for taking a special care of my friend when she got seriously ill. She received very good care; her issue was dealt with promptly and efficiently. I thought the whole situation was handled very professionally. No worries whatsoever. I speak some Spanish...but no need. They spoke perfect English. This kind of thing could happen anywhere at any time. The doctors and nurse were treating people in the clinic and in their ROOMS in a timely manner, It was a wonderful getaway from cold Winter days in Ottawa. Thanks for everything. Blau Varadero: Perfect Holiday

First time in Cuba & this resort was as nice as any we’ve stayed at elsewhere (Mexico, DR). Spacious, clean rooms. Meticulously kept grounds. Very lovely natural areas on the property (not all concrete). Resorts are not on top of each other & very few beach vendors. Numerous beach chairs available & many permanent thatched umbrellas. The beach restaurant is amazing, you can also order paninis which are delicious. Pool side bar & restaurant are quite enjoyable. The main buffet has great breakfasts - eggs & omelettes & French toast & pancakes & smoothies made while you wait. There was a shortage of chicken, beef & fruit (and vodka & gin) but plenty of other food & drink that it didn’t matter at all. The coffee in the buffet is weak but the coffee bar is amazing (latte, cappuccino, Irish coffee, Americano..). The employees are so sweet & accommodating. We made use of the tennis & pickle ball courts, the badminton & ping pong and the volleyball net on the beach. There were other activities that we just didn’t have time for! The lobby is beautiful with natural vines. There are many lawn chairs around the pool. The nightly entertainment is very good and ends by 10:30/11:00. The wifi connection doesn’t last long without reconnecting (but not the end of the world). We did bring a few supplies (pita, peanut butter, Costco snacks such as trail mix & peanuts, S&P, hot sauce, cup of soup, Kleenex). I would bring canned tuna, face cloths, conditioner, cereal next time. Transportation from airport is an hour max (depends on drop offs). No one suffered from Gastro ailments but we did bring meds just in case.

Sol Palmeras: A home away from home

We absolutely loved SOL Palmeras! The entire staff were beyond our expectations, from the check in to the waiters and waitresses at the Buffett to the bartenders and above all the animation/entertainment crew. Dailo, Alexis and the crew made our week so memorable! We had such an awesome time with them, singing, dancing, playing fun games through the day, basketball, volleyball, beach parties and all the night shows.
