Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Very big resort!
We found the resort a little too large and the buffet food wasn’t the best. The a la cartes were top notch but hard to get reservations. The staff were friendly and the rooms were quite clean. Was a little disappointed that the beach areas were in small sections but still enjoyed it. As far as the bar is concerned, if you don’t tip right away then don’t be upset if you have to wait to be served. Don’t think I’d return to this hotel because of the size of it and the entertainment, quite [... read more]
Sandals South Coast: great stay
Enjoyed the food and water sports. The line ups at the restaurants were sometimes annoying. Resort felt very safe. The water sports were great fun but often had line ups. The view was amazing. Enjoyed the room service food.
Riu Montego Bay: Just what we wanted!
My daughter and I were very pleased with this resort. Top 3 priorities for us (1) cleanliness (2) respectful staff (3) good nightly entertainment. All were excellent. The resort is small but we enjoyed it much more than we have some other larger resorts we have stayed at. Small on size but big on customer service and entertainment. Buffet was good, as good as buffets can be. What we enjoyed about the buffet was they actually changed the menu up each night. Some staples stayed the same but sectio [... read more]
Catalonia Montego Bay: Amazing
We thought hotel was wonderful people staff where so nice and friendly and helpful Rooms where clean bathroom not as big as we would like but it was clean and fresh towels every day Food was sooo good not just buffet but the other restaurants where amazing Grounds where kept very well
Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Disappointed
We were not overly impressed with this Bahia Principe after going to the one in Mexico. The food didn't compare and the large breakfast buffet more often than not took forever to replenish basic staples, scrambled eggs and bacon! It was also about 95 degrees in that buffet room! Grounds were beautiful, staff friendly and rooms very clean, however the restaurants were so disappointing. We dined at the Italian restaurant twice and both times the special feature was Beef tenderloin! We also we [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Great week!
Felt safe the whole week. Resort is booked to capacity so no chance getting a lounger by the pool unless you’re up at the crack of dawn. Ppl will reserve loungers by leaving towels and will also take other people’s loungers- it can get cut throat! Pools are nice and have swim up bars. Beach is small but sand is soft and huts or umbrellas for shade available. Staff are friendly and have a sarcastic sense of humour. Food is great for an all inclusive and no stomach issues. Be sure to try the j [... read more]
Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Amazing food
Beautiful resort with excellent food and service. The beach is deep and the water is calm - great for swimming. The furniture in the rooms and the entertainment area is old and in need of updating. Our bathroom had a cracked sink and very worn bathtub.
Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Clean yet small
This resort was very small with limited activities and dining opportunities. One al-a-cart restaurant which had to be booked daily. The weather dictated whether this al-a cart restaurant would open as it was the "beach grill" converted into a restaurant in the evening. Unfortunately, the weather was not ideal during my time. Some staff were very friendly however, some of the staff at reception were "stand offish" and not welcoming of guests questions. This resort was situated very close to th [... read more]
Riu Reggae: Amazing!!!!
Resort was modern, clean and very close to the airport. You will hear planes over head mostly in the afternoon which didn't bother me at all. The service was outstanding in all areas of the resort. Food was very good in the buffet . I like that you didn't have to prebook A La Cartes as there were 2 seatings 6:30 & 8. the only A La Carte I tried was Italian and I choose steak well done, very satisfying. Beds were comfortable and fridge was restocked every 2 days. we received clean towels and face [... read more]
Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Fantastic Resort
This resort has it all. They have friendly staff great entertainment. The food was terrific and everyday we were surprised by something. Whether is was ice cream served at the pool, to fresh coconuts at the beach to make your own paella. It was my second time at this resort and it seems to have gotten better. The only downfall is the rooms need to be updated but I heard they are going through renovations next fall. Great Trip!
Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great time at Bahia Principe
We stayed at Bahia Principe for a week with our 6-year old. The pool is gorgeous, the kids splash area was perfect (complete with bar and towel hut) and the food was excellent. The beach is a bit rocky but the water was lovely. The downsides: people reserve loungers, a la cartes book up quickly, and it was a bit noisy on the 1st floor where our room was. Overall a great resort that we would certainly return to
Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: It was a beautiful resort!
Luxury side was definitely the way to go, although as a younger couple there was definitely an older crowd on the resort, of course that could just be the week that we were there. Definitely need to book all your restaurant reservations for the week on your first day, otherwise you may not even get to go to ones you wanted. Service was great for the most part, definitely a relaxing week.
Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Huge Resort
Lovely resort. Very very huge and spread out. Terrible beaches (man made) directly in front. The one at the end of the resort is very nice however, not handy should anyone have a disability. Food was excellent and most staff excellent. Those whom were pumping Priviledge Club were a little over the top at pestering. Found finally after the 10th approach you had to just say No. All in all good time. Would I go back? Not likely but mainly due to size and lack of close beach.
Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Fantastic resort
We were really pleased with everything about this resort. The rooms were great and kept spotless by the housekeeping staff and the fridge was replenished daily. The beach was amazing and there were always plenty of chairs available. The food was great with plenty of selection. Can't imagine anyone complaining about the food. The pool was huge and kept spotless. There was never a dull moment with the entertainment staff. All of the staff were polite and willing to help. All in all, it was a great [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great trip!!!!
I have never written a review before but thought I would for the first time as I had a great trip. This hotel I thought was beautiful. The service was good, the food was good. Our room was very spacious. I think this hotel had something for everyone, wether it be relaxing and quiet or dancing in the disco until 2am, or karaoke, sports bar, casino or shows. Also a great place for children with the water park. Very big resort with lots of walking but I loved it after eating and drinking so much f [... read more]
Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Great time
we just returned from 7 days at this resort and had a wonderful time. The staff were phenomenal. These workers put in very long hours day in and day out with a smile on their face and always trying to please their guests. We ate at all the restaurants and while one doesn’t specifically stand out as a favourite each one offered variety and the food was consistently excellent. We stayed in a riviera bamboo grove premium room which was located in the lily building. We found our room not ver [... read more]
Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Great resort
Hotel is new and showing no ware, The rooms all have a ocean view and a good one not partial. The food was always good with a lot of choices. The employees are pleasant and always busy doing something. The beds were comfortable with decent linens. Bathroom was nice with big shower and lots of hot water. Beach was beautiful but short. Hotel is only 5 minutes form airport.
Riu Negril: Execellent Resort
The resort overall was excellent . The staff were all very very friendly . The room was great ,clean and comfortable . The beaches were very good .The swimming area a little limited .due to a past corral reef and sea grass ..The grounds were clean and pretty but somewhat limited in size The food was excellent quality On the down side there were not enough public restrooms on the grounds (3 for the whole resort|) The second seating dinner service was not acceptable . If you were not in lin [... read more]
Hedonism II: Good resort
We like this resort (7th year running). It is a bit dated but they are in the process of renovating, but who spends much time in their rooms anyways. What we like most is the people who visit the resort. At most resorts we have visited over the last 25+ years, this is the only resort where almost everyone is friendly and willing to sit down and talk with you. I've found at other resorts most people pretty much keep to themselves. My only complaint is not about the resort but the flights. We f [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Run away....from Run Away Bahia Principe.....
Not to happy with this resort !!! They ran out or Red Wine 4 days in a row...in various restaurants. They ran out of 4 different types of alcohol at the lobby bar...very disappointed with this resort. The beach's are just OK....nothing special...they all have rocks....and stones in them. The food was good...the service was good...the rooms were clean and were the grounds were in good shape. Staff were always saying sorry for the wine shortage...
