Grand Memories Varadero: Great Beach

The resort was nice. We found it a bit crowded for us. The food at the buffet was decent. The coffee bar was the best!! The room was disappointing and dated and definitely needed some TLC. The staff at the resort were incredible. Beach was beautiful. We enjoyed different excursions and spending time in Varadero. If you’re planning a visit be sure to spend some time off the resort. It’s safe and pretty incredible. Next time we visit Cuba we’ll try a different resort. One that’s a bit sm [... read more]aller and one with an ocean view.

Melia Las Americas: Amazing service

We were late in arrival due to slow customs. We felt the room we got was not what we hoped for. The bellman, Frank Calbot, who we know now for years, took charge and upgraded us to a two bedroom bungalow for no extra charge. Incredible service. Great stay, like other years. One downer, the Italian a la cart dinner was awful. Other than that, we will be back next year. We love Melia las Americas.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Lovely Family Friendly Resort

This was my first vacation to Cuba & I was very pleased with the resort. Our room was spacious & spotlessly clean. Our maid surprised us each day with her creativity in turning our blankets/towels into swans. The food was quite good but some of the meat dishes weren’t properly cooked. We had no problem with the chicken & fish. There was a good selection of side dishes. Service was a bit slow at the buffet and bar but all staff were very friendly & pleasant. All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable vacation!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing resort

So lovely and friendly staff With so pretty and peaceful environment Food was good but it could be much better They had every day and night show and entertainment that kept every body so happy and busy In general every thing was perfect

Melia Marina Varadero: The very best Cuba has to offer!

While modern car rentals and electric scooters are available, the resort is served by all 3 major bus and tour services, including Varadero’s joy-filled, hop on/ hop off, open top double deckers! Food is wholesome and Cuban, great pork, ubiquitous chicken and lots of fish followed by marvellous desserts and world famous ice cream! Of course, Cuban rum and international bars add pleasure to every visit,. Book the Havana Premium tour for a truly unforgettable day that both delights and informs.

Grand Memories Varadero: Beautiful resort but needs some attention to customer service

We have been to Cuba many times but this is the first time that we’ve had to wait in lines so much: lines lines lines. I surprised my wife with this trip for her 50th birthday and Don’t get me wrong, this is a beautiful resort with two of the most beautiful pools to enjoy and many good things but just be prepared to wait in line....Only one server at the pool bar our first day meant we had to wait in line all day for drinks. Only one buffet for a couple thousand people will mean that you w [... read more]ait in line to get in for breakfast, lunch and supper. And then once you get in you might wait as long as we did for half an hour at the food station just to get a fried omelette. (It’s evident there was a second Buffet next-door that used to be used and now it’s just sitting empty - the least they could do is open up that dining room that’s literally right next-door, to serve their customers more expediently) I am a very patient laid back person but I even found myself getting very frustrated. Everything else as far as we were concerned was up to Cuban standards and again the pools were amazing and sun chairs were always available. Usually I have to get up early to get a chair but that is not the case here and I give them credit for that. The beach is the only place that fills up quickly. Only other thing I’d strongly suggest is that they provide a regular service shuttle with clear marked stopping stations to get on and off because there’s a lot of walking! The night we arrived was later and we had to drag our suitcases for what seemed like a kilometre or two because we didn’t know where we were going and had no one to take us until finally we found a gentlemen who offered to help. They need a regular shuttle for this large resort rather than just hoping to catch the odd cart that happens to come by. With only one snack bar by the second pool towards the beach you’ll be walking a long way to enjoy that during the day, especially if you’re staying in the upper pool area. They should definitely open a snack bar at the upper pool as well. And again if you want to enjoy the barbeque restaurant down by the beach you’ve got a long way to go to get there. It’s worth it just be prepared to do a lot of walking. Especially if your a parent with young kids or elderly this could be a serious concern. Having said all this we would still definitely go back again but be more prepared to waste hours on...on all the walking and waiting....in Lines lines lines! They have got to address this and then it would be worth another star as far as I’m concerned because everything else is great including some great band and musical entertainment they bring in outside of the shows.

Barcelo Solymar: Loved the resort

I loved having a bungalow and the view we had from there was awesome. kept very clean. The ground area well taken care of. The services was wonderful. Great food. Loved the beach. Loved the breeze off the ocean and all the trips you could take. First time to Cuba loved ever minute of it.

Playa Caleta: Amazing Time

2nd time back to Veradaro. 3rd to Cuba. The week was quick, flight there & back with sunwing was good and comftable free shuttle to resort and back was included. Beer could be purchased & drank on the bus The beach & water was so clean, clear & beautiful, I could see the long skinny fish swim by, watched the pelicans swoop their feed out of the water and baby crab burrow in the sand. The water activities were FREE to rent paddle boats, kayaks, canoes relying on tips. Snorkeling catamaran had a [... read more] fee. The Oceanview room was clean, bed was comfortable, air conditioning & safe worked well, lots of hangers & drawers for clothes. A 1.5 L Water bottle supplied every day, Toilet paper, shampoos, conditioners & soaps all supplied, one elevator down, 2 others worked and was no problem as I was on vacation & I booked a deal through tripcentral. The staff so helpful & friendly, coffee bar was busy, 5 other bars were well stocked, 2 gift shops had good assortment of items, necessities & a good place to exchange money. The 2 adult pools along with the baby pool were all clean. One beach towel supplied per person could be exchanged daily. The Italian restaurant was so good, I went back twice and called out the chef on his lasagna. The 2 regular buffet restaurants were repetitive with food & the other 3 restaurants were okay. No big deal, i still ate well. The lady who gives massages, I'm telling you to book 2 as soon as you arrive. $25.CUC for a 1 hr full body & She's AMAZING, gets those knots out well! I was told by many the Playa Caleta building where I stayed was the better of the 2 offering a wide selection of games at night and a younger building. Entertainment was so so, nothing special. Location of resort was fantastic, didn't take long to get anywhere & choices in excursions could keep you plenty busy for 1st timers.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Not the best

For a resort called “Be Live Experience” it wasn’t quite the live experience... The description on the websites withhold useful information such as the fact that the disco on the resort isn’t open most days. Also, the entertainment is random and often missed, besides the evening. The only way this resort could be semi enjoyable is if you book your trip for the weekend there, as weekdays are a waste. Also, hold onto your beach towels because the staff will secretly take it then make y [... read more]ou pay 20$ CAN. when you check out of the hotel. The key cards to get into your room don’t work sometimes so you have to constantly go to the front desk for another one, just be prepared for the unfriendly hospitality. Overall, the beach is the main attraction as well as the mini beach bar that is open from 11pm-7am. You’re gonna need a lot of alcohol in order to enjoy it.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: The best trip of my life

Resort was amazing. Very clean and a dream come true. Food at the buffet was always excellent and staff was so accommodating and friendly. Beach was amazing!! I can’t even describe how amazing it was.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Very nice resort

It was our first time at this resort Lobby bar area was nice Buffet was exceptionally clean and bright with lots of food choices Bathrooms by the pool and by the buffet only had only 2 stalls often 1 out of order so there was a line up even thou resort was at half capacity I could only imagine if resort was full capacity Our room was clean, service was good, friendly and helpful staff

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good and bad

We loved the resort, it was clean and staff was friendly! The food on the other hand, was so terrible to the point that 3/4 of us got food poisoning on 3 separate nights! (Meaning we didn’t all eat the same meal and still got it). One of us ended up in the hospital. We are not picky eaters by any means but the food was clearly not safe! If the food was better we would consider going back but unfortunately we would never return, our experience was a little traumatic.

Palma Real: Amazing resort

We loved it been there 21 times cuba is our favorite place we would love to go back the pool could use anit of work bedrooms r outdated but clean people r so nice and was pretty good location was great

Barcelo Solymar: February 2020

We were a group of 14 people visiting for 1 week at Barcelo Solymar. For my 50th birthday. Ages 9 to 65 years old. We all loved the resort. There was something for everyone. There maybe could have been more for the 9 year old. The grounds were beautiful. There was alot of painting going on, all the buildings seem to be getting a fresh coat. All of the staff were fantastic. Our room was lovely. We were pleased with the service. The first time I showered the water was cold. We discover [... read more]ed if you ran the water for a bit the hot water came on. After that the water was always hot. The main building is for party people. We were in bungalow 27. Far away from the party yet close enough that we could join the party when we wanted. The walk to Varedero was 10 minutes and that was fantastic for night life and daytime shopping. The beach was stunning and well kept. The food was excellent. I was happy to see salt and pepper on the tables. There was no peanutbutter or jam. We liked the Mexican al a carte and the seafood. The Italian left a little to be desired as the pasta was overcooked. We liked being able to enjoy both resorts for food and entertainment. We will definitely return but wonder if the prices will be higher in the future due to the renovations, it is going to be beautiful and look very 5 starfish. We did the premier jeep excursion. It was not jeeps but all wheel SUV style vehicles. A great day, a fantastic way to see Cuba and partake in snorkeling, swimming in the caverns, boating, Omar's farm and what seemed like a provincial park for lunch. We hired Eyewitness Cuba for a trip to Havanna, they where very knowledgeable and gave us a great day. They can be found on Facebook and TripAdvisor. We are planning to try to return for all the big birthday's in our group!

Playa Vista Azul: amazing resort

We should of been informed better from the privileged office or from the butler that was assigned to us that our room would not be ready until 4 no one told us they just kept saying give us a little bit more time so we waited 4 hours for our room in our long pants and shirts. Maybe trip central could of maybe informed us too. the service was a bit slow at the buffets and sometimes the food bins wouldn't be filled up fast enough for everyone. but other wise it was ok Its Cuba and they are very [... read more] slow. we had a wonderful time and I would go back there again the grounds and the room were amazing. one of the best places I have been in Cuba and I have been there 6 times.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Beautiful beach

Just got back from Royalton Hicacos Varadero Cuba The Diamond Club has changed their perks so we were very disappointed!Beach area for Diamond Club had no bathroom .This was totally unacceptable as we had some with mobility issues within our group of 10 We had to move up the beach to the non Diamond area! Ask for top shelf liquor (by name )when ordering drinks We however witnessed bartenders putting cheaper brands of Liquor in top shelf bottles.We asked for Crown Royal rye and kept getting a scotch type drink ,was disgusting.We finally asked to see a unopened CR bottle sealed bottle and we actually opened the bottle.I think they finally got the hint we knew our rye .lol We did drink the different drinks but CR is our drink in the evening !Their beer is good but light tasting . All the ala carte restaurants we good but if you like to eat early you have to get to them before 6:30 or you might have to wait till 8:00 or later ,They do give you a buzzer which is a very good idea Best beef steak we have south in a long time (in the ala carte) We did not eat in the The Caribbean restaurant (Tuesday were reserved for honeymooners and returning quests) One buffet and was good ,Fruit was poor but we know Cuba is not known for its fresh fruit .Every night the buffet has a different theme of food Beach was the best we have been at !Very long and great walking beach Pools were pristine clean,cool but refreshing. Lots of construction going on but did not bother out stay They are upgrading the whole resort Beds were comfy and pillows very good Bring your own adapters for you appliances (shavers,curling irons etc.They will bring you one if needed .We had no plug in our bathroom Overall we enjoyed our vacation but we were disappointed in the Diamond Club as we paid extra for this and we were not informed of these changes before we arrived .The changes happened 2 weeks before we arrived .

Playa Caleta: A 3 star resort

The hotel is not very well kept.Dirty elevators...balkony windoes and glass needs cleaning. Food is planty but the beef and pork meat very thaugh...food is same every day.Pool and beach area well kept. Russians are too loud and rude.

Blau Varadero: An ok experience for first all inclusive

The hotel was clean. The room bright and had a great view of the sea. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The food not up to snuff. I was warned about food in Cuba and I'm typically not a picky eater but the food was blah. By the end of the trip I was craving everything North American. Mind you, I don't have any all inclusive comparison, so overall as a hotel it was a good experience.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Ok at best

Rooms were a good size, bed was too hard. Food was ok but not a lot of options. Bathrooms were hit and miss, some had toilet seats some didn't as well with the toilet paper. My fiance also had her phone case stolen out of our safe with her credit card, id's and bank card in it. Other than that weather was great, most staff was friendly people were good. Beach was amazing.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Great Resort!

Very clean! The food was good! close to the beach. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Big resort so plenty of walking. The entertainment was good. Plenty amenities. The massage was great went 2 times! the gym was clean and well equipped.
