Excellent resort, amazing food, and service. It is a big resort, just make sure you get a room near main lobby, especially if you have kids. Also, the beach is not very good. You have to take a free bus ride to go to the hotel zone, which is famous for its white sand beach. Be careful about the time-share people. I would love to go back there again.

Moon Palace Cancun: Mar 21-28/14 ... not for people without kids.
Pluses: Close to Airport so first to be dropped off. Plenty of pools within the resort to find a chair first thing in morning and place your towels on them ... otherwise none available. Plenty of restaurants to chose where to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Deli and Cafes were great for snacks, chocolates, ice cream and sandwiches. Staff everywhere within the facilities were fabulous, waiting on you consistently throughout at pools, restaurants and bars. Food was plentiful and delicious! Wi[... read more]th or without tips ... say 'thank you' or 'mucho gracias' and each and everyone of the staff replied with 'my pleasure' and a smile.
Minuses: Arriving at 11 a.m. and waiting until 3:30 p.m. to get in our room. People with children letting them run wild throughout, not looking after them in pools or around pools. Not much space between pool lounges and the edge of pool and kids 5 to 10 y.o. running and banging chairs or splashing from pool, when asked to not do it they laughed and said you're not my mother! Parents not to be found, they did stop by from another pool on their way to the bar but weren't sitting where they planted their kids for the day. There should be a section for kids and parents with kids so that they are looked after, we shouldn't have to ruin our vacation by watching the heartstopping antics of someone else's children jumping off of bridges over the pools. This is not the resort's fault, but changes could be made to contain the children and force parents to be surpervisng them. i.e., No children allowed in children's pool under the age of 14 without constant supervision by a parent.
Food: This is a very large resort containing 3 in 1, you are allowed to visit all but beware, all food is the same at all the inside restaurants and good, the outside restaurant kept running out of the a la carte food on the menu at dinner so was disappointing and one time all the food was delicious and the next time meat overcooked and vegetables undercooked, but all in all the food was plentiful a good variety (just don't try and eat all on the buffet in one day). The wait staff in this resort are second to none, they are all fabulous!
Room: Rooms were assigned with jacuzzi tubs in the bedroom, bed was so close to front door that it was difficult to sleep without being disturbed and woken by others opening and closing their doors...there was echoing throughout and our door would shake when others slammed shut. Bathroom amenities were plentiful and the bathroom was okay except for having to walk around to the other side of the toilet to be able to close the door before sitting down, if someone wanted in the door would tear into your legs. Plenty of towels, but our bedding was missing the first day, just a mattress with three pillows and a duvet thrown over it, had to call room service to get it made and then they made the king size bed up with two double sheets that kept coming out and we got tangled in them during the night...the next day they made it correctly when I spoke with the supervisor on our floor, she took care of it right away and also provided us with a top sheet so we weren't having a duvet used by others touching our bodies too.
We were so disappointed that the people there with kids let them run wild in the common hallways leading to the rooms, this went on day and night with one set of parents locking their kids out of the room so they could have some down time but we suffered the consequences of the kids running up and down the hall screaming and banging on all the doors. Never had one good night's sleep there the whole time, and even tried to nap during the day but was impossible because the children found it wonderfully fun to scream and yell up and down the hallway ... they loved the echo! Couldn't wait to get home so I could finally get a good sleep. Suggest resort could book people with kids all in the same building so not to disturb other visitors without children and have at least one pool assigned for adults only and supervise it with signage to keep kids out.
Won't be returning to this place as it is way too large a resort for our personal liking and from now on we will go to 'adults only' resorts as parents seem not to care a bit about letting their kids run wild in a resort of strangers with no supervision even in the buffets kids were allowed to go by themselves and butted in line and were going around touching and trying pieces of food then putting it back ... sort of turns your stomach!
Unable to swim in the ocean as it was considerably windy with high surf and lots of seaweed at the time of our stay.
Would recommend to people with children but for those looking for a relaxing fun vacation without babysitting unwatched children go elsewhere.

Holiday Inn Cancun Arenas: Almost Perfect
This hotel was very very clean, the people were great, the service was excellent and the only thing I would make sure of next time I go to Cancun is that the hotel is on the beach and in the sun all day. Because the sun was not on the hotel beach side most of the day the pools were too cool and were not really even used.

Villa Del Palmar Cancun: Great Resort
We stayed at this resort just over a year ago after looking into the Cancun area. First, the grounds, lounges, and bars were absolutely immaculate this resort is still fairly new and we found it to be well taken care of top to bottom. Especially impressive were the pools and top notch gym. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very modern. The beach at resort was smaller but well taken care of. What we were let down by, was the lack of a lunch and dinner buffett. We are big fans of variety, here yo[... read more]u will find that after breakfast all meals will be a la carte from every restaurant. Also, having to sign your receipt after every meal and drink did become annoying as it is all inclusive, but they keep tabs on what you have ordered due all the time share people. With all the above being said, the food and drinks were excellent, simply the system got be tedious. I highly recomend checking out this resort but make sure you do so as an all inclusive, several time share people were complaining of the high price of food and drink.

The Pyramid Cancun: Horribel experience!!
The hotel was completely booked with young people drinking, shouting. People smoking everywhere. The room was directly beside the elevator, floors wet, it smelled mouldy. It was not possible to find a place to eat due to crowds of drunk youths everywhere. We had to check out and find another hotel down the road.

Grand Oasis Sens: Just Average
Our stay at Oasis Sens was slightly disappointing. We had travelled to Mexico before and had excellent experiences, however this time we opted to stay in Cancun instead of further down in the Riviera. The pr ice of the resort was great, however when we arrived our room was still not clean, despite the fact that we arrived at 9pm. We ordered room service that night, and the food was pretty good along with the service itself. As the week went on we got a tad bored on the restaurant options availab[... read more]le to us. The menus didn't change so you ended up eating a lot of the same things. The drinks were also not the best. Cheap liquor and cheap sugary mixers instead of juice. Tolerable, but not the best. We did eat at the special restaurant one night and it was an awesome experience. We had our own dedicated waiter that night (only 1 other party was dining), the food was spectacular and just all around worth the money. Sadly the resort night life was pretty much nonexistent. They have a nightclub on the premises but mostly live bands and no DJ, and it shuts down before midnight, so you have to travel into Cancun to get any sort of night life. The biggest issue we had was with the room. The room was clean, although dated, but on the last day a wooden panel in the ceiling fell down and hit me on the head while I was emptying the safe. It left me with a large goose egg, and a nasty headache for my flight home. We also didn't recieve so much as an apology for what happened. We called the front desk and maintenance came and fixed the hole in the wall, and broken thermostat the wooden piece had hit, but every time we mentioned me getting hit in the head we were ignored. I late filed a complaint with the resort and was offered a free room upgrade and late checkout on our next stay. Which we never took advantage of. The cherry on top of everything was that we were told we couldnt request late checkout until the day before our departure since our flight was late in the day. When we actually tried to get late checkout they told us that was not possible since we departed on a Friday. Fine. They told us to come down in the morning and they would give us a departure suite to shower and hold our belonging until our flight. Again, when we asked they said they didn't do that on Fridays! So we had to live out of our suitcases in the lobby on the last day, and avoid the beach because we had no where to get clean.

Moon Palace Cancun: Moon Palace is incomparable. 10/10.
My husband and I came to Moon Palace with high expectations. After researching and finally booking it, words cannot explain how happy we were with our decision. Everyday was paradise, it is honestly perfect. There is a variety of quality resturants with addictive foods (you have to see it to beleive it. I could go on and on about the resturants, buffets, room service, ice cream bar, outdoor meals; everything was top notch! In addition, our room was THE BEST room I've ever stayed in (We stayed at[... read more] the Grand), one word: WOW. So many pillows, so clean! The sheets were changed daily along with amazingly clean rooms. There were tons of pools, infinity pools and hottubs to indulge in around the resort. Everyday we went to a new luxury spot to enjoy! (including an infinity pool on the roof overlooking the golf course)! Ahh I smile just thinking about this vacation! Above all, the staff really make this place. They're kind, attentive, respectful. Everything you would want in a resort, Moon Palace has. It was a trip we will never forget and hopefully be able to enjoy again soon!!

Melody Maker Cancun: Very cool place to go
This hotel was not your typical Mexican tourist hotel. Everything was high end and it was a great place for the 20-30 year old crowd. Katherine Ervasti was our rep and she was great to deal with

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Tropical paradise
What can I say about this hotel other than the fact it was 5 star from the time we arrived until the time we left. The staff made of feel incredibly special, it was the little things like chocolates in the room, flowers and one day even homemade cookies. This was our first time at this resort but it won't be our last

The Pyramid Cancun: Would not return even if free
We went in Jan-Feb and it felt like we were in spring break. The resort it self is beautiful but not enough staff in any area. Check in was awful, it too two in half hours just to check in no drinks were served upon arrival and we could not go get anything until we had a bracelet, no apologies! Room was averGe, nothing fancy. All the buffet was blend, same every meal. The Italian n sea food was good. Would not return if it was free. Entertainment sucked big time, and they played music with tons [... read more]of swearing.

Grand Park Royal Cancun: GET SOME MORE UMBRELLAS'!!!!!
The hotel was nice but was no shade around the pool and no umbrellas with the exception of about 8 which of course people reserved early morning. I had two kids with special needs with me so they were nice enough to let them stay in the luxury beds- which most of them were empty anyway.
The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Food was good and all resaurant staff were great.
