Riu Republica: Great place with exceptions

I had a great time at Riu Republic. Rooms were great, lots of pools to choose from, nice beach. Loved the fact we could get multiple lounge chairs most of the day quite easily. Main buffet and the restaurants we tried were very good. Have to nite that 5 our group of 14 became very ill during the trip. Weather was also below expectations, periodic rain and cloudy except for 2 days. So while not everyone in my friends group would agree, I had an enjoyable time

Riu Palace Bavaro: Beautiful Beach and a good time

The Riu Palace Bavaro is a bit dated colour wise but it was clean and comfortable . I thought it's layout and various pool configurations were better than the other attached Riu resorts that we had privileges at. Staff were friendly , food good and drinks all depended on your bartender but mostly good. There is construction going on behind the main hotel building . It didn't bother us and was somewhat entertaining to watch before we headed out for the day. The best rooms are the Villa rooms alt [... read more]hough ours was just fine in the main building looking out to the central square . Best to have the upgraded room so you have privileges at all pools and not just the main noisier pool. The sandy beach and ocean water was gorgeous. You can walk forever down the beach.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: February getaway

Travelled to this resort with my wife and daughter. First impression wasn’t a good one. Upon checking in the staff informed me that our room wasn’t ready…after a long travel day, being told to wait in the lobby that’s the last thing I wanted to hear. Basically had to remain seated in front of guests services to ensure they didn’t overlook me and secure my room. Finally after getting our room discovered the weird layout of the room we selected..bath tub in the middle of the room…no privacy for ch [... read more]arging..would be fine if it meant for a couple but with my daughter in tow, created some awkwardness. Overall resort was good, grounds well kept, services and staff helpful and friendly and the food was decent. Only a la cart we didn’t like was the Italian restaurant which was bland. We enjoyed Hunters Steak house, food was excellent and service was good. Found that we could enjoy the buffet and the wide variety offered..only complaint was during busier times services took a dip..no plates no cups..have to look after yourself essentially or wait for till you can finally track down staff to help. Lastly the nightly entertainment was beyond disappointing…only good night was the Beatles and Michael Jackson performance. Overall would give this resort a 4 star rating, the high price we paid didn’t reflect the type of experience I expected.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Great family resort

This hotel was great for kids. It was very magical, castles had light shows, water park and pool activities were awesome. The small cafe by the water park pool has the best food for kids - fresh to order pizza and grilled cheese with ham, this is what my kids ate almost the whole time. If you check out in the app be cautious because you loose your wifi and if you didn’t write down your room number it can make check out stressful - the bell boy would not accept our email confirmation and wanted t [... read more]he room number which I had lost access to. The buffet gets a bit repetitive too and a lot of the pizza has corn on it so my kids were not a huge fan of the food. As adults I grew tired of it quickly too. And some of the al La cartes dont offer the kids menu but can give you plain noodles with butter - be careful of this. One has a little play area for kids that is fenced right beside it though - loved that! The entertainment staff for kids were amazing and had great energy. Over all we loved it here and would suggest it to any family with small kids.

Playabachata Hotel: Great Resort

The resort was nice, this was my third visit in two months to this place. The people are wonderful, food was really good, entertainment was ok but wish they would not share with the 'Senator and keep it at this resort every nite.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Living the Dream

We had an amazing time at the Dreams Royal Beach Resort. The staff is extremely polite and welcoming. The amenities are very clean and it lacks for nothing. We had the chance to stay in the Preferred Club section and it was definitely a level of care and attention that we had not previously felt at other similar Caribbean resorts. The Preferred Club gives you the service of a dedicated butler and we were very well served by Natali who was attentive to all our requests during our stay. The server [... read more]s are extremely professional, special mention to Nelson M. and Leonardo for their attentive service and the magnificent Esteban at Asian Fusion. A last word on their 2 tennis pros, Francis and Marcos, they bring such enthusiasm to what they do and the clay courts are superb to play on. We would definitely come back, we felt right at home from the moment we walked in.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Bahia principe punta cana no more!

I've been going to the DR Bahia Principe for years! I've stayed at the Ambar, Turkesa, Fantasia and now the Punta Cana and this last one NEVER again! Much lower quality of food and service that I'm used too at the Bahia! Buffet staff completely ignored us every meal although I had been tipping very well as usual! Not worth it at all!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Beautiful resort with lovely pools and good food. Beach area is poor with seaweed and mucky bottom.

We were in room 57019 and bar fridge did not work. When I asked for a working fridge, I was told that staff were aware that our fridge was not working and they would see that we got cold drinks and ice each day. This happened for 1 day and for the next four days I had to go the reception and complain. Management assured me that this would be resolved immediately but this did not occur. On the fifth day we went to the Air Transat rep. who accompanied us back to the same manager we spoke with th [... read more]e previous day. He remembered us and agreed that it was not acceptable that we had to complain each day, wasting our valuable vacation time. We did get a replacement fridge that day. I find customer relations to be very poor. They were very friendly and made promises to correct the issue but did not act on them. My stress level while on vacation should never be as high as it was due to their lack of action. I cannot see any reason why the fridge was not changed after my first complaint. We are Members of the Privilege Club and have been to Bouganville before as well as other properties. We will not return to Bouganville due to the poor customer relations that we experienced and will not recommend this resort if anyone asks.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Majestic Colonial

We loved this resort.The food was amazing.The entertainment was fantastic.The grounds were beautiful.The staff were all so friendly,and will go out of their way to please you.Our room was great with a comfy bed.The pool was gorgeous.Would definitely return to this resort.

Playabachata Hotel: Nice resort

Enjoyed our stay. Food was good and a la carte restaurants were great, especially the BBQ ribs at the steak house. Beach was great but never enough chairs. I think this is consistent with most resorts though. Room was clean but dated. Bathroom ceiling needs repair. Took a bit to figure out hot water, but once we got it, shower was fine. Entertainment was good. Overall, resort was good value for the money.

The Resort was great. Pools and beach were good. Clean sand and pools never felt full. The service for food was not good. Slow service for asking for a drink at the Selections buffet. You would just never get it. No cups to get you own drinks either. Was speaking to someone in at Hunter Start to find out the price for the meal and mid asking he answers his phone so we left without getting our information.. Expected more for the food and service. The Jade restaurant in Punta Cana part of the res [... read more]ort was great for food and service. The worsted part out of staying there was 8 out of our 18 people fell sick to some sort of food poising. Very disappointing.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Bouganville Beautiful

Grounds, pools, buffet food were worth the trip. Beach water was not 5-4.5 Star level. Bar service was excellent for all areas. Specialty restaurants were not 4.5-5 Star quality. Staff were super and daily room eservice was super. Could add Liquor Bottles to ech room instead of only mini-bar offers. Tour to Santo Domingo was good but too expensive for the experience.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Jewel Palm Beach was excellent !

We were originally booked at Jewel Punta Cana. It was suddenly purchased, so we had the option to go here...glad we did ! The resort is just the right size, close to the beach, nothing is too far to walk to. The grounds are amazing and the people that work at this resort seem to always have a great smile ! Never felt uncomfortable with random locals at the resort ( Like I experienced at another resort ). Food and selection was excellent ! We have been to many, many all inclusive resorts in Cuba, [... read more] Cancun and the DR, before we left, we decided we will come back to the same place next year !

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Awesome trip

Highly recommend this place as food was awesome. Beach was great. Staff were great and very friendly. Bartenders were awesome with very little wait times for drinks. Entertainment staff worked very hard and kept the party going. Also I suggest go VIP as the perks were well worth it. The lounge is a great place to hang out after dinner before the show. Entertainment was very good especially with two nights of rain and they quickly pushed all outdoor festivities to the stage and kept in going. O [... read more]nly thing I would have changed was our room as we were close to the stage and music was quite loud. If you are not a night person get rooms further away. Place was also very clean with staff working non stop to do so.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Loved it

What a great resort. Close to the airport. Great food and drinks. Lots of options. STAFF ARE AWESOME ! Beach is really nice for the Dominican. Rooms are big and clean. Lots of activities durning the day. Over all we had a great time here.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Lovely vacation spot!

We finally had an opportunity to return to the VH Gran Ventana! We love the fact that this is a relatively small family run hotel. I was surprised to see the same friendly faces as I did from pre Covid times! That’s incredible! The staff, pool area, buffet area were well kept and appreciated! The 3 a-la-cartes were fabulous! The beach was very well kept and the ocean water was warm and inviting! The rooms were very clean, although basic. The bed was very comfortable. My main suggestion would b [... read more]e to update the rooms with a bit more decor/furniture. Although the bathrooms are functional, they desperately need an update. It would be lovely to have a common shower area for guests who travel to the airport for late flights. Overall, I love this resort and will definitely be returning! Ocean Blue and Sand: Great resort

The grounds at this resort were very well-maintained and beautiful. The rooms were big with double sinks in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and clean. I would definitely come back again. The staff is also amazing.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Wonderful resort, our third visit.

Very pleasant atmosphere where ever you were on the resort. Staff always cleaning in the buildings, doing care outside trimming shrubs raking the beach. Staff always friendly and happy to help. It was always service with a smile and they all too pride as they should in the service they offered.

Riu Bambu: Good resort

Rooms are spacious and kept clean. Food is good but most of the dishes very salty. Resort and pools are nice and maintained well. Bars were excellent. Some of the night entertainment was good.Meat dishes were tough and hard to eat. It would be good if the food could cut down the salt especially for people with health problems .
