Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: very nice resort. 9.95/10

public washrooms were always clean maid forgot to top up our bath towels twice but that was ok because they brought clean towels as soon we complained. rooms always clean. buffet was exellent, a la carte best restaurant was hunters. entertainment was fun pool and beach was great, loved walking the beach( never ends for miles). would recommend this resort over Sandels anytime for the price when you compare adult only resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very good resort

We have been to this resort many times and we were not disappointed. This year we went later than usual and because of the timing there were a lot of young people due to US student break week. We like the Ala carte restaurant variety. The Dominican people are very gentle and happy people which makes it so enjoyable.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Relaxing Resort that made for a great vacation

Overall, this was a great resort, however, they missed on certain things that could make it an incredible resort. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with the mini fridge stocked daily and housekeeping doing an exceptional job of cleaning our room - however, the AC failed to work for most of the week and this seemed to be an issue with multiple rooms. Most restaurants were great, especially the Teppanyanki, but certain restaurants had limited service, long waits, and mediocre food. The staf [... read more]f across the resort were incredible, with service being the number one priority, but they seemed to be lacking quantity in many locations, which was the blame for the slow service from my perspective. The grounds were incredible with a beautiful lobby and flora, and a huge amount of space to explore - if you like large resorts, this is a great place to go! However, this is not a beach resort - lots of pools, but beach is extremely rocky! Avoid the timeshare salespeople at all costs - they'll indicate that it'll only take a certain amount of time, but you go through a chain of people who don't communicate with each other and it is impossible to get your 'promised voucher' without spending minimum 3 hours. We did and they still did not follow through on everything that the first person promised and they wouldn't even share the pricing for the timeshares as we were not serious enough about purchasing - again, a big waste of time!

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Great Place to Vacation

This resort has it all! The beach, pools and garden area are all beautifully maintained. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable and maid service top notch. The Restaurants offer a substantial selection of food and excellent wait staff. The golf courses, (9 hole on hotel grounds and 18 hole a ten minute van ride away) are well kept and challenging enough for the average golfer and duffer alike. Ocean Blue and Sand: Nice clean resort w/ great food!

The resort was very clean. Rooms were always clean. A little dated, but clean. Food was great. Did not have 1 bad meal. Japanese and Steak House were both excellent, and the Marina for lunch and buffet for breakfast did not disappoint. Staff were always se friendly and helpful. Only thing I would not recommend is going to the shopping market. Very overpriced merch and it took over 1/2 to get our ride back.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: No inpressed

First thoughts when arriving was good your staff at the front desk was very friendly. I requested a first floor room because of med issues and was l place in a second floor room no furniture no hair dryer soon of the wall sockets didn't work. Then had to pack up and bring everything down at 12 and store my luggage till 2 and then go back to see if they had a room on the ground floor.we got the a new room with furniture and a hairdryer and the refrigerator didn't work . Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Very nice resort.

We had a wonderful week at the Royal Bavaro. The resort staff work hard to keep it fresh and clean. The adults only section met all of our needs and provided 3 locations with loungers; a quiet pool, beach front and swim up pool. The food was excellent.

Riu Palace Macao: Amazing Resort!!!

We absolutely loved RIU Palace Macao! The staff are top level and the hotel is beautiful. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Thanks so much Cindy for recommending, and all of your help.!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great Resort

This resort is incredible. Very big with many hotels. The staff seem to have a good grasp on running things, despite its size. The food was pretty good. There were ups and downs, but for the most part very satisfying. They could improve on the coffee. I love my coffee in the am and throughout the day. Maybe add decaf as an option. All and all, very relaxing. Super friendly staff and very interactive.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Not So Good

Aquamarine room was dated and in need of a refurbishing. No dedicated outlets for phone chargers etc, in fact you had to unplug lights just to charge your phone. No stopper in sink. Towel and face cloth supply was sporadic. Handle on sink was almost broken and shower set up was loose. Room door was not sealed properly as you could clearly see the light shining around the door frame. In room fridge was not always replenished. Lack of good air conditioning in our lobby. Not easy to cool down after [... read more] a day in the sun. Lobby tables were not cleaned and were always sticky. Very difficult to find chairs at pool and beach. Sports Bar could not get NHL games on their TVs. Food was good, a la carte restaurants were good and not packed, but it was difficult to get reservations at the time you wanted. The bars also ran out of supplies and didn’t seem to care. No gin, no champagne, no Rose wine etc and the quality of of their alcohol was not up to standard.Overall the Aquamarine is not a 5 star resort and it won’t be until they refurbish the rooms.

Grounds were beautiful but needs maintenance.Room was nice but needs maintenance but very comfortable. Food was good but repetitive. Too many,mosquitoes I got bitten all over my feet . Service could improve at the buffet

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Great value

The hotel grounds and the facilities are well maintained and beautiful. The buffet food is good but the specialty restaurants (3 of them) are not very good. The resort made us stand in line at 10am every day to reserve the specialty restaurant of the day and it wasn’t worth the wait. We stopped doing it after we tried all restaurants. The room was very nice. A few issues with the shower wand with water splashing all over. The room towels were taken away every day at approx 10am and only returned [... read more] in the afternoon as it appeared they didn’t have enough towels to do a complete change-over. The maid service was great. Overall, it was still a great resort and a great value. I would go back again.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Beautiful location

We loved how clean it was. The grounds were spectacular. We had cold water in our shower 6 of the 14 days. The temperature control valve needs to be changed. The maintenance man would come in the afternoon and there was hot water. In the morning there was warm water coming out of the tub tap but cold water in the shower. They sent us champagne and fruit and an apology note. We would have preferred a warm shower instead. The food was fine and the service was excellent. Would I go back?? [... read more]? Playabachata Hotel: Needs upkeep

The driveway as you arrived at the Coral Playabachata was very littered with garbage and still the same when leaving. Left a really bad 1st impression for our friends accompanying us for the first time. Rooms at Coral Playabachata had been closed since 2020 and smelled musty. We had booked a Superior Garden view at Playabachata (NOT Coral) and were told upon arrival that we didn't have a room and were asked to sharea room with the couple we were traveling with. This all took place around 1:30am [... read more]. We advised them that we paid for our room at Playstation and were not accepting to share. They temporarily provided a musty room the 1st night. On the 2nd day, we were moved to where we had booked. The on room safe had no tumblers therefore useless. We stored our valuables and money in our friends' safe which was an inconvenience at times. Since our friends were only staying one week, we wasted 3 hours before their departure trying to have our safe fixed. They borrowed a tumbler from another room. This safe issue was very common occurence. Many people complained of non-functinal in room safes. The next big issue was the extreme shortage lounge chairs, so much so that 40-60 people, every day, used the lunch dining room chairs on the beach or pool side. This resulted in no place to sit at lunchtime. Many of the lounge chairs are in severe needs of repairs as they sagged terribly or the back rest adjuster were broken or completely removed. The dinner buffet dining room was always running out of dinner plates. Exchanging our beach towel for clean ones was practically impossible forcing us to re-use same towel for 4-5 days. This was our 3rd consecutive year at this resort and we were i ctedibly disappointed .

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Clean, Zen, Quiet, Tropical Paradise Resort

This resort is a Tropical Paradise. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The lobby is stunning with fountains, water features and lots of greenery. A wonderful place to sit back, relax, enjoy the soft music and island breezes while sipping on a refreshing mojito. A place where we would frequent after dinner at the lobby bar. We stayed in the Premium Beach Side rooms building 6 a great location. Easy and quick access to the pool, beach and breakfast/lunch buffet area. This is our second visit here and we love it! The weather was perfect….beach and pool side area clean and inviting with plenty of seating in and out of the sun. Several palapas available. Pool temperature was perfect along with an awesome swim up bar with fun and friendly servers. The pool area is quiet, no music allowed and that was okay with me and my friends. A quiet enjoyable atmosphere. The food was good, always a choice of salads, several types of meats…burgers, wings, chicken, beef dishes, pasta, cheese, breads, just to mention a few….. you won’t leave hungry. Wine not that good. The rooms are comfortable and clean, plenty of hot water and towels. I recommended bring your own wash cloths these are limited. They supply body wash and shampoo. We would leave a note in the morning to replenish the fridge with water, juice and beer etc. always accommodating us. The main part of the resort is on the beach and fairly large, but don’t be intimidated, it is easy to navigate. A golf cart will take you around the resort and up to the lobby, they will stop and pick you up along the way. Overall I highly recommend this Adult only Wellness Resort. It is truly Paradise. If you are looking to kick back, no stress type holiday this is for you. With serene atmosphere to an abundance of activities and amenities and what ever tickles your fancy, they have it. Swimming pool exercises, volleyball , yoga or just walking the long stretch of beautiful Bavaro Beach….this resort gets my vote.Returning next year.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Great Resort!

Grounds were clean. Carts were always available to move around the resort. Buffett service was excellent. however food was ok. Rooms were amazing with a balcony!! For a family resort it was surprising that guest were allowed to smoke everywhere, it was a bit uncomfortable with our grandchild. Beach was beautiful.. lots of room on the beach to spend a day. Overall great holiday!!

Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus: Great resort. Will definitely go back.

Stayed at Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus at end of Feb. We have only complements for the resort. First and foremost, all workers and staff were friendly and attentive to serving guests. Our room was super clean and mini bar kept stocked. The bathroom had been renovated and featured walk in shower booth. The grounds well kept and clean. The beach was the nicest for quite a stretch on either side of the resort. There were plenty of palapas on the beach as well as around the main pool  [... read more]throughout the day. The water at the beach was clear and fairly shallow for quite a way from shore. If you like water sports, take out a kayak or Hobie Cat. Take in water exercise class each day before noon. We ate most meals an the main buffet restaurant. Every night had a dinner theme ie Italian, Mexican, Dominican etc. Quality was excellent and plenty of variety. We stuck to light lunches at the Spiaggia seaside grill. Enough said. We have been to other Iberostar resorts in past and have always enjoyed our stay Hacienda Dominicus adds another check mark on our list.

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

Although I am 80 years old, I enjoyed every aspect of the Hard Rock Hotel. I danced along with the younger ones, sang to all the songs that were played. All of the employees we dealt with seemed joyful, and very friendly and willing to help. There were activities and choices of food for everyone. Our only complaint was that on the pathways from the beach area (where our room was) to the main building are not well enough lit at night. it can be quite dangerous just trying to find your way.  [... read more] i would recommend adding more lighting at ground level to avoid accidents. Other than that, everything gave my daughter and I a very enjoyable, restful, fun-filled and well-needed break from the cold and the realties of daily living.

Carol took care of everything…made sure it was a very smooth process….all document available it was fantastic…would book with her again and again…thanks for making my vacation awesome. The food was amazing, the whole place was so well kept…and the staff were amazing
