Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Fantastic Resort

This resort has it all. They have friendly staff great entertainment. The food was terrific and everyday we were surprised by something. Whether is was ice cream served at the pool, to fresh coconuts at the beach to make your own paella. It was my second time at this resort and it seems to have gotten better. The only downfall is the rooms need to be updated but I heard they are going through renovations next fall. Great Trip!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great time at Bahia Principe

We stayed at Bahia Principe for a week with our 6-year old. The pool is gorgeous, the kids splash area was perfect (complete with bar and towel hut) and the food was excellent. The beach is a bit rocky but the water was lovely. The downsides: people reserve loungers, a la cartes book up quickly, and it was a bit noisy on the 1st floor where our room was. Overall a great resort that we would certainly return to

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: It was a beautiful resort!

Luxury side was definitely the way to go, although as a younger couple there was definitely an older crowd on the resort, of course that could just be the week that we were there. Definitely need to book all your restaurant reservations for the week on your first day, otherwise you may not even get to go to ones you wanted. Service was great for the most part, definitely a relaxing week.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Huge Resort

Lovely resort. Very very huge and spread out. Terrible beaches (man made) directly in front. The one at the end of the resort is very nice however, not handy should anyone have a disability. Food was excellent and most staff excellent. Those whom were pumping Priviledge Club were a little over the top at pestering. Found finally after the 10th approach you had to just say No. All in all good time. Would I go back? Not likely but mainly due to size and lack of close beach.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Fantastic resort

We were really pleased with everything about this resort. The rooms were great and kept spotless by the housekeeping staff and the fridge was replenished daily. The beach was amazing and there were always plenty of chairs available. The food was great with plenty of selection. Can't imagine anyone complaining about the food. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great trip!!!!

I have never written a review before but thought I would for the first time as I had a great trip. This hotel I thought was beautiful. The service was good, the food was good. Our room was very spacious. I think this hotel had something for everyone, wether it be relaxing and quiet or dancing in the disco until 2am, or karaoke, sports bar, casino or shows. There was different parts to the beach which I enjoyed and even though a big resort, it never seemed crowded as there is just so much space to the resort. The pool looked beautiful, although I didn't go in as I prefer the beach. Check in was so quick and easy. Took no more then 10min. I did see bad reviews, but did not experience that at all. I would highly recommend the Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica for a great vacation. Beth from trip central was great to. She must have mentioned it was our anniversary because on 2 different occasions during our 7 day stay, we came back to our room and had a bottle of champagne, glasses, plates, cutlery and a fruit plate wrapped in cellophane. Such a nice touch. Just thought I would mention that I have been on vacation every winter for probably 10 years and I think this was my favourite. I was in Jamaica last year in Montego Bay but the beach wasn't as nice as this one

Sandals Jamaica Ocho Rios: Great time

we just returned from 7 days at this resort and had a wonderful time. The staff were phenomenal. These workers put in very long hours day in and day out with a smile on their face and always trying to please their guests. We ate at all the restaurants and while one doesn’t specifically stand out as a favourite each one offered variety and the food was consistently excellent. The room was very dated and the reason why I did not give a 5 star rating. The nightly themed entertainment was average but the entertainment at the rabbit hole was a favourite for us. We went there 3 nights to enjoy phylia “mama” perform. There are two private beaches. The riviera beach which a little more quite than the beach club. We loved both beaches. All in all I would recommend this resort as a great destination

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Great resort

Hotel is new and showing no ware, The rooms all have a ocean view and a good one not partial. The food was always good with a lot of choices. The employees are pleasant and always busy doing something. The beds were comfortable with decent linens. Bathroom was nice with big shower and lots of hot water. Beach was beautiful but short. Hotel is only 5 minutes form airport.

Riu Negril: Execellent Resort

The resort overall was excellent . The staff were all very very friendly . The room was great ,clean and comfortable . The beaches were very good .The swimming area a little limited .due to a past corral reef and sea grass ..The grounds were clean and pretty but somewhat limited in size The food was excellent quality On the down side there were not enough public restrooms on the grounds (3 for the whole resort|) The second seating dinner service was not acceptable . Hedonism II: Good resort

We like this resort (7th year running). It is a bit dated but they are in the process of renovating, but who spends much time in their rooms anyways. What we like most is the people who visit the resort. At most resorts we have visited over the last 25+ years, this is the only resort where almost everyone is friendly and willing to sit down and talk with you. When I booked our trip it was a direct flight to Jamaica, with a connection in Toronto on the way back, but about a week after I booked, WestJet changed the direct flight to a connection in Toronto. This adds over 2 hours to the trip. On the return trip, even though our flight from Jamaica was on time, we pretty much had to run through the Toronto airport and made it to our connection gate 1 minute before boarding and that is only because we got to jump the cue at the multiple inspection points, after explaining our connection flight would be leaving soon. A big thank you to the Toronto airport personnel.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Run away....from Run Away Bahia Principe.....

Not to happy with this resort !!! They ran out or Red Wine 4 days in a row...in various restaurants. They ran out of 4 different types of alcohol at the lobby bar...very disappointed with this resort. The beach's are just OK....nothing special...they all have rocks....and stones in them. The food was good...the service was good...the rooms were clean and were the grounds were in good shape. Staff were always saying sorry for the wine shortage... Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall: Paradise!

Amazing resort! I have no negative feedback. We had great weather, we had the best vacation ever! Grounds were immaculate. Rooms were spacious and everything was very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Food was amazing! My 11 year old loved the buffet, Bitez and poolside food - he liked that eating didn't cut into his pool time! When not doing an excursion off the resort, we were at the pool having drinks, participating in trivia or dance classes. Evening entertainment was super as well.  [... read more]As wonderful as the resort is, the best thing about the Hyatt Ziva is the staff. Everyone from housekeeping, room service that delivered my morning coffee (and a fist bump!), the chef that made my morning omelettes, and the bartenders that gave me a different drink every time I said, "Surprise me!" They are amazing and our trip wouldn't have been the same without them! Special shout out to the entertainment crew who had us laughing all week - Antoneil, Omar, Rick, Crystal...so great! Can't wait to return :)

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Amazing resort

This resort is very well maintained. Every area is very clean, rooms public washrooms, pools, dining area, beach. The food is delicious a wide variety. We ate at the buffet for every meal. We enjoyed the activities on the pool deck. All the staff from check in to check out were extremely friendly and helpful. We have no complaints about this resort and hope to return.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Fun in the sun

Beautiful resort, we had a wonderful trip. The resort is older so you expect some things that need fixing, example we had a crack in our sink. Did that bother us no....petty things like that are not worth complaining about. The only complaints we have is that the beach is not a nice walking beach and the grounds are not big for walking and seeing different things. Food was great, always something to eat for everyone’s different desires. The village is awesome, great for shopping if you want. Pool is beautiful, they were always entertaining you with something if you wanted to take part. Overall it’s a beautiful resort.

Mangos Boutique Beach Resort: Resort in bad repair.

Grounds were lush and a lot overgrown but staff were spending time taking care of that. The room was beautiful but the bathroom was in great need of repair. The paint was peeling from the bathtub that they had painted. The pool needed to be cleaned more frequently and more chemicals needed to be added to get rid of the cloudiness of the pool. The garbage including beer cans and glasses needed to be picked up regularly as it was usually left for a few days. The outside of the buildings  [... read more]need some paint to spruce it up, as do the iron tables that are rusted. The beach was good, but it doesn't look like it does in the pictures. The wind brought the waves in so the water was always up and there wasn't much beach to walk on. The food at dinner was always the same and no meat at breakfast. Lunch was always good. They ran out of beer, white wine and all liquors and even water each day. The room was only stocked with water and beer, maybe 3 times in 2 weeks. We had to ask the wait staff for water everyday. Then they had to run around and find it. Management listened to a lot of complaints but not a lot were acted on. The staff were the friendliest staff we've ever met. They did their best to try and make people happy. It definitely was not a 3.5; more like a 2 star.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Best resort ever!

The hotel was massive! So much to see and do on the property one week was not enough time to see and do it all! The two resorts in one truly feels like one very large resort! The beaches were clean and it’s the first time I’ve been south and not come home with sand flea bites! A true testament to the well kept beaches! I had a very decent nights sleep without back ache!! The food was spectacularly prepared and all restaurants and buffet’s were fully stocked and fresh! Staff were friendly and helpful each and everyday! It was our first time at this resort and we were all very impressed! We would return there! The grand pool is indeed grand it was never crowded because the size of the pool is massive and holds many! The infinity bar entertainment in the evenings was the best! The live singers were professional and their genre was diverse! Sunset cove was a gem. We found it day 4 and enjoyed it for two days!! My daughter got married there and the team of planners and set up staff were awesome! Our whole experience was pleasant and memorable! We all had a relaxing vacation after the wedding was over. Wonderful to have a vacation along with the wedding! The shuttles were prompt and available to take us everywhere we wanted in the property when walking wasn’t an option! There were NO vendor selling wares on the beaches!!! This was a surprise! A pleasant one because when I go to the beach I want to relax not be pestered to shop.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Beautiful resort!

Beautiful resort in large sheltered bay. Great swimming as water is calm and clear. excellent walking beach; vendors at far end. Hotel is beautiful, per Riu standards. Bathroom tub needed new caulking and one bathroom sink cracked. No hot food 24/7 (only fruit and popcorn). For these reasons can only give this resort 4.5 stars out of 5. Food is superior (hats off to the chefs!) and staff are helpful and courteous. Beach is lovely with shade available. Would definitely return.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Very nice property - solid 4****

My husband and I had the pleasure of going to this resort Feb 1-11 and we are so glad we did. Here are some pros and cons (the cons are few!) Pros: 1) The food is excellent! From the breakfast buffets to the beach grill, one will never go hungry. There is always something fresh on the menu. The a la cart was so good too! We recommend the beef tenderloin and the salmon. 2) The rooms are big, airy and so clean. The bed is comfy too. The fridge is stocked daily with pop, water and Red [... read more] Stripe beer. 3) The grounds and pool are spotless! 4) There are always more than enough sunbeds to go around. Loads of shade due to the construction of the hotel. Half the pool is in the shade all day long so you'll never get sunburned (unless you want to lol) 5) The bar staff in both bars and the drinks are top drawer. They really try hard to be creative with their mixed drinks, their shots and the bartenders antics. They are such a fun bunch and will try hard to make you smile 6) The support staff - from the front desk all the way to tour agents, everyone has one goal to make you relax and enjoy your holiday. Cons 1) The sunbeds at the beach have seen better days. They really need replacing. 2) There really needs to be handrails on the steps around the pool, the bar and leading to the beach. I realize there are ramps but they still need banisters on the steps. And there really needs to be a complete handrail in the pool instead of the half rail that's there now. 3) The beach sand is beautiful and loads of shade, palapas and beach tents so lying on the beach is a pleasure. However, be aware that there is a steep hill of sand to get to the water and when you do, there's a further drop into the water. It's not a place for kids. I'm 5' 6" and by the time I got on solid ground in the water, it was up to my shoulders. This is not the hotel's fault - mother nature is what she is! :-) I would not hesitate to go again and I would also recommend it to my friends. Britney at the front desk is wonderful. She helped allay my fears of the state of emergency in MoBay leading up to the trip. She was right! I felt just as safe and welcome as I always do in MoBay. So if you're going to book this place run, don't walk!!

Sandals Jamaica Dunn's River: Great vacation

The resort is small and very compact. Everything is a short walk away. All the staff were very helpful and eager to please. If you like taking long walks on the beach then this resort is not for you. It is perfect for lounging and enjoying the turquoise waters.

Couples Tower Isle: Fantastic Resort

The resort is awesome as soon as you arrive. Staff are excellent. They remodeled the resort with new furniture and a nice face lift. The food is fantastic especially Eight Rivers. Everything is truly included from scuba diving to golf . I have been there 4 times and will not hesitate to go back next year .
