Melia Jardines del Rey: Amazing beach and wonderful staff

My wife and I visited this resort starting March 15, 2019, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. First of all I wish to recognize and thank the staff that are attentive and caring and look after the needs of the numerous guests. The long and beautiful beach and the magnificent ocean are one of the highlights of this hotel. There were activities provided by the hotel, but we did not participate in any, so I have no opinions to offer. We just took in the BEACH... There was always lots of food with [... read more] many choices, and constantly being replenished in the buffet. There are also snack bars for additional choices. And then there was the endless fresh coffee beans being ground to prepare the delicious Espresso, Late, Cappuccinos, Spanish coffee or whatever you desired... We are both willing and happy to return to this resort again.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Friendly resort

Smaller resort. Very friendly staff and vacationers. Great entertainment. High energy young people. They all worked very hard to make our stay relaxing and fun. The evening entertainment was great. Zoe was part of the entertainment group. She always stopped to see how we were doing. Beautiful gal. Our room was always clean with a new towel arrangement every day. The grounds were beautiful. We could always find something we liked. Pasta was excellent. The pizzas on the beach were great. Loved the ice cream. All in all we had a great two weeks.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Good Resort

Very nice resort. We had a clean, spacious room overlooking the ocean and pool. The service was very good. Maid service was excellent. The food was as could be expected for Cuba. Often not very hot though. Ala Carte Restaurants were booked up quickly of which there were very few. The staff were friendly and efficient. The pools were spacious and plentiful. Washrooms were very clean but at times soap containers ran out as well as toilet paper. I would recommend this resort as long as ocean swimming wasn't a priority.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Grand Imperial Cayo Gullermo

When we arrived at the hotel Grand Muyhu It was full and they sent us next door to the Grand Mutho Imperial. Grand Muthu was overbooked. We lucked out. Only opened two months ago. The hotel was beautiful .The beach was not done yet but you would sit in front of the infinity pool and look at the ocean. Breathtaking...There were two beaches you could walk to either way in a few minuets. Spacious beautiful rooms,nice staff,food was good. Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great time

This was our 4th trip to cuba and it was great as always. The beach is absolutely gorgeous, wide and lots of room for everyone to enjoy it. The resort was clean, the public bathrooms were among the cleanest weve seen in cuba. Our room was in the hotel part of the resort and we didnt have any issues, always had hot water and clean towels and very clean. The food selection was lacking and very repetitive, we were tired of the food by about day 4. Most staff were very friendly however a few we [... read more]re rude to us at the lobby bar on morning shift. The grounds are a bit bare but they are doing a wonderful job getting it back to normal after the hurricane. We didnt enjoy that we were so far from any towns as we enjoy going into towns for the markets and restaurants and werent able to do that here. We would recommend the resort and had a lovely time but probably wont be going back to this area.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Simply the Best !!

It was our first trip here and definitely wont be our last. We absolutely LOVED this resort. We would of stayed much longer if we could have. The restaurant selections, The food, The service from waitresses and waiters to bartenders, yardworkers and drivers etc. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The pools were beautiful, but the beach...that beach was just gorgeous. We could have walked up and down it all day everyday. I 200% give it 5 stars. Muthu Colonial Hotel: Love this resort

Everything is wonderful. Beautiful gardens wonderful beach, people are the best, always treat us like family. What more is there to say, we love everything g about Colonial Hotel and would never consider going anywhere else.

They need to spray for mosquitoes. The main buffet is way to small for the amount of people. Room was nice and clean but no water pressure. Staff very nice and professional .........................................................................................

Hotel Vigia: Beach is a five star

This resort is all about the beach! Quite possible one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. The hotel itself has a few issues, The Beach and the swimming in the ocean has NONE. No issues. Hotel is in a dire need of repair. rooms very dated and many issues linger from the devastating hurricane only 2 years ago. The Sol is a diamond in the rough that needs a lot of polishing. The grounds boast bungalows that look like they belong in a designer resort, but as soon as you enter or climb the cru [... read more]mbled stairs, the illusion dies. Beds need to be replaced as well as pillows and blankets. Buffet food is okay, in fact quite good. The issue is the amounts: Get to buffet first call or risk no deserts at all. 6:30 door opens for dinner buffet, and 6:45 the nice deserts are gone. The a la cartes are quite good and worth the trouble, but they need a better reservation system. It seemed to change daily. Would go back indeed if we ever decide to visit same resort twice, as the beach was worth it. We got a great 14 day deal at a price that most people pay for 7 days, so we had a lower expectations that was surpassed by the beach, the food and the great staff.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: decide for yourself but...

We have been to Cuba before so we know what to expect. We tried to give this resort the benefit of the doubt. But you can decide for yourself: Pros: beautiful beach, cleanest of the strip. Great if you like wading – not for swimming though. Missy does great braiding and Junior not only makes a great omelette, he actually can fry two eggs – lightly over – without breaking the yokes (must be a special skill in Cuba). Both pools looked clean Cons: we were eaten alive by mosquitoes – they seem to even like the insect repellent – we are Canadian we know mosquitoes – these were unbelievable and we were not the only ones with welts all over our bodies. getting a table that had cutlery was touch and go and how cutlery and glass wear were cleaned is disgusting (you don't want to know what happens behind the screens) I can handle cats coming and going when it's an open air buffet, but both buffets are closed, but the cats are allowed to wander in and out and all around. These are not pets, they are 'wild' and most likely have fleas etc... we are certain the Cuban people eat better food than they served in the buffets only one bartender to service the entire resort between 6:30ish and 8ish pm. This poor guy has to service EVERYONE – alcohol and coffee drinks – average wait in line 10 minutes. We were never offered beach towels – good thing we brought our own Shower head was at a fixed level of 8 feet so you have to take it down to use it and then any water that happened to hit the wall flooded the floor tub wouldn't drain – not even over night we had bugs in the tub when we arrived – more to follow on that. The air conditioner poured out water and wasn't fixed until our second complaint we had no housekeeping in our second room – the room they gave us due to the photos TV's in both our first room and our second room had to be fixed drapes in both rooms were old and torn and large gaps under the doors allow lizards free range we had a VERY valid complaint about a flying insect infestation in our room on day 5 and had to fight to get a new room – we were given the impression they thought we were exaggerating and said it was because of a weather change - until we showed them the photos (unable to download them here). Still took over 2 hours to get the new room The room new room was supposedly ocean front – well, after you walked though the kite school, it was. Housekeeping in first room didn't happen until around 5pm – then not at all in second room. Many of the staff work 16 to 18 hour days – everyday and it shows my husband got a better exchange rate than I did despite the fact that I was next in line Needless to say, we would NOT recommend this resort under any circumstances. We have written to Sunwing, Sercotel, and Iberostar to let the know of our experience. Waiting to see if either company replies

Our room was very clean and well kept by our maid We had the "elegance" package so our beach towels were already in our room when we arrived. The beach was amazing and the pool areas were clean and tidy with the pool boys regularly making the rounds to make sure all was in order The entire resort , lobby area , buffets, a la carte restaurants were all taken care of . Muthu Colonial Hotel: Good resort

Hotel surrounding pools and beach was fantastic. Food however was not the greatest. Beverages were kept to a minimum. Always ran out of ingredients for drinks. Room fridge was not stocked as stated in booking. Overall a nice place to vacation if you are looking for relaxation .

Tryp Cayo Coco: Beautiful Tryp

Don’t miss this old gem. Best beach, best pool, best pool bartender , great food and most important friendliest staff you will find. It may be a little old but that just means it’s aged to perfection. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Great Hotel

This hotel may be old but I would recommend it over the other hotels on Cayo Coco, I’ve been to 8 at least. Food is great here, drinks are cold and staff are like family. Don’t pass this place by, you will be sorry.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing place

This is our second trip to this location. Our first time was in 2013 and it was so amazing after all the bad things you hear about Cuba. We decided to take another trip and visit the same resort. To our surprise it was just as nice as it was 6 years ago with some of the same faces. The employees are amazing and always happy to serve you. I’ve recommended this spot and will continue to recommend it to anyone. The beach was beautiful with white sand and crystal clear ocean..

Lovely resort - beautiful rooms, pool area was gorgeous! The entertainment was excellent! The staff great & the dancers amazing!! Beach breathtaking. The food ok but really enjoyed a la carte. Hope to be back 🤗

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Very fun resort

I liked the feel of the resort. The little cottages make it a nice atmosphere There were some mosquitos but I managed them ok. (Off) the food was good always something to eat just not a lot of variety. Dinner plates were an issue never enough. If you asked for something you needed it was arranged. Beach was beautiful and not busy at my end of the resort near the adults only section. A very relaxing environment

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Wanted it to be better!

Canadians who travel to Cuba want 3 things: great pool/beach, friendly staff and clean bathrooms! We got clean bathrooms but most on the resort worked only sporadically and our room bathroom had a major flood whenever we showered. The resulting mold and mildew smell permeated the room (2237) despite Lumey’s valiant efforts. The resort was massively understaffed and waited for everything from drinks to snacks! This is on the many managers saw roaming who never made eye contact or smiled… Managers are the team builders! There beach is beautiful! And the pool guy was a real entertainer. I guess 1 out of 3 isn’t bad… p.s. for a new hotel it looks worn out the furniture cheap (IKEA?) It seems to be a great place to take your kids since you don’t have to worry about fine dining on clean chair pillows or wreaking the furniture!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful resort, but service slow

The first night was not good!! They gave us a room on the top floor to start with and we are seniors. I have problems with my legs and my cousin has hip and back problems. The next room we got was on the first level After arriving in the room with our luggage we noticed a mildew smell and then water on the bathroom floor into the bedroom part. We had to go back to the main resort which is only about a 5 minute walk, but it was pouring rain! They finally gave us a room on the second level in [... read more] a different building. It was very nice, clean and comfortable. We also had a bad experience at the main bar. We stood there for at least 15 minutes waiting to get served. They just looked at us and ignored us. We finally left and went to another bar.
