Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Awesome vacation.

Great food. A la Carte meals amazing. Wonderful service and friendly staff. Wide variety at Buffett. Beach is awesome and my husband went deep sea fishing and caught 140 lb Blue Marlin, so he is still pretty excited. This was our second time at this resort D we enjoyed it even more this time. Room was clean and tidy. Hope to,go again soon

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: "Was" a great resort!!!

We have been here many times and will definitely return again... however, during this recent trip the entire guardalavaca area, the bungalow section as well as most all the barracks section was closed for renovations..... this put pressure on the only buffet located in the hotel as well as the other couple a la carte restaurants..... recognizing this is an older complex and the required improvements are quite necessary and the fact that we really love the area and have made many local friends,,, [... read more], there should have been more information available to all the travel agencies related to all the current renovations and shut downs... notwithstanding this, we were treated very well and had a great time of it anyway!!!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Best Holiday ever

This was a great holiday took my daughter and sister there and they were amazed at how great the food was. The staff was great too . It was my sister's bday and the staff went all out to make it special. We met wonderful people and plan to return again and again this was my fourth time and it just gets better and better. I always bring different people and everyone loves it there and wants to return

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Incredible vacation

The hotel was wonderful. Plenty of room to sit down and enjoy a drink or two. The grounds were well maintained and the rooms were clean and fresh. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The pools are well maintained. I ate food from the buffet and from the a la carte restaurants. I enjoyed both. If you like ketchup, I suggest you bring some! My one qualm was that some of the washrooms ran out of soap and toilet paper quicker than other washrooms found around the resort, I made sure to  [... read more]bring a roll of toilet paper from my hotel room for those just in case moments and I used hand sanitizer in the event of no soap.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Favorite resort in Cuba!

We have stayed many times at Paradisus Rio De Oro and we always stay at the Royal Service section of this resort. As soon we arrive at the resort we get a feeling of coming home , all the employees at the resort are working hard to make it a great holiday. Everybody is very friendly and always a smile on their faces. The food is very good and if there is something not there they will do their best to find it or you. Right now the bungalows are being painted and the interior is being refresh [... read more]ed with new curtains etc. The grounds are beautiful and we loved going for a walk and admire the gardeners hard work. One of the things that can be improved on is the furniture at the lobby bar, the chairs are very uncomfortable and the WIFI is a hit or miss.The seats at the buffet can use a good cleaning or new upholstery because they are very dirty. We had a wonderful stay and a thank you to all our friends at the resort. We will go back next year again!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Amazing experience! Can't wait to go again!

First time traveling to Holguin and was amazed the entire time there, great experience loved the location of our resort Blau costa verde, very clean, spacious, always had food available 24 hours a day. Service was amazing very friendly staff always ready to help you out. Buffet was clean and covered food was good, always something to eat, 24 hour snack bar amazing and a la carte restaurents phenomenal. Lots of daily and nightly animations held at main lobby, pool snack bar area. Luckily we had  [... read more]paid for the plus option therefore our rooms where further away in the blocks of the plus section of the ressort. Very quiet clean. Everything was max a 5-10min walk from our room. The plus pool was beautiful and much more spacious than the main pool. Also much quieter since all animations are held at the main pool or by the beach. The beach is spectacular great snorkeling area didn't even have to go on a snorkeling excursion the reef was right off our beach. Beautiful white sand, clear blue water. The only downfall to this beach would be the rocks some areas where quite rocky which is great when snorkeling but not so much for casual swimming. Luckily lots of areas with sand and since the water is clear you can navigate yourself thru the rocky paths in the water. Lots of chairs and palm huts available for everyone. The room was clean and mini fridge refilled every day with a new 1.5L fresh water and beer and cola. We where always greater with smiles and holas. Our trip was an experience I'll never forget. And for sure will be returning to this resort and recommending this resort to friends.

Playa Pesquero: Wonderful Resort with lots or little to do as you wish

This was my first time in Cuba, first time at an all-inclusive and first time travelling alone. The resort was very large with plenty of activities and things to do, plus large enough if you just wanted to slip away and read a book. The rooms were lovely, the staff warm, friendly and accommodating. The food was as to be expected but there were plenty of options that for a vacation you could find enough variety. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Relaxing getaway

We went for relaxation and we got it. Found beach a bit rocky but still nice. Pool area and bar were great! Recommend getting a renovated room! (New bathroom). Staff were very friendly. The aquatics show at night was great!

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: The resort was ok

The resort is really starting to show its age. The grounds and beach are beautiful but the building, rooms and the plumbing are really showing their age. It really should not be classified as a 4 star any longer. The staff was very friendly as always, thats why we keep coming back to Cuba because of the people. We have stayed at this resort a couple of years ago and this time we found the food was just not good at all this time. Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great place for vacation in Cuba

Good hotel, excellent beach, great stuff. There is some renovation in progress in Mares main lobby as well as in some areas of Luna. Hope it'll make it even more pleasant to stay at. The room we stayed in had a bit of a leak from the sealing in bathroom after small rain or use of AC, but as we didn't spend much time in there it didn't bother us much. All other aspects were beyond the expectations. Stuff is very friendly, resort overall is very clean and very well maintained, beach is superior, selection and quality of food is very well (I was wondering about reviewers who complained about food - what they eat while at home? - hamburgers, hotdogs and coke is also available - specifically for them :)). Besides that there is reasonable selection of meat, fish, pasta that is cooked to your taste as well as salads and buffet. Beach and other activities are at great selection. Everything is available for a great vacation. Wait time at the Holguin airport on the way back is a bit unpleasant. It would definitely help if 3h at the empty airport (it was our only flight at this time) can be reduced to something more reasonably justifiable.

Playa Pesquero: Playa Pesquero - 2nd time

The beach is outstanding! The staff are very friendly, great facilities (many tennis courts, handball court, basketball court, jumping castle, gym, soccer court, darts, pool, ping pong, lawn bowling, etc.) Great value. The grounds, nite life and food could be improved. The hotel is starting to look dated, the food at the buffet is very unhealthy. Playa Pesquero: Great resort

Overall the resort is very nice. The people as other resorts are very friendly. The food was very good especially the a la carte restaurants. There were a couple of items that should be addressed. The lights on the walkways were burnt out and require replacement. Not enough staff at the buffet especially when very busy. Phone in room did not work.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Time wih family and friends

We went to Club Amigo Alantico Guardalavaca with family and friends from Oct.30 to Nov. 6 ,2016.The staff was friendly and helpful but the grounds needed some TLC--- the grass was long and needed mowing. However at the end of the week they started to mow. They were also making improvements to the standard rooms and the bungalows which made it noisy for nearby rooms. Our room was always cleaned but only had a few towels provided each day. While overlooking the shortcomings we still enjoyed our vacation --- pool, beach, at the nearby market or visiting Cuban friends.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Amazing vacation

We stayed September 16-23rd. It was amazing. Our Villa was spacious and clean. Everyone was friendly. The food was excellent. I have Celiac's disease and I had no issues finding lots of wonderful food both on the resort and while we were on our excursions. We took part in the Jeep adventure excursion it was awesome. We loved the fresh coconut. This was our first time to Cuba and it won't be the last. We had a perfect day. We did snorkeling both at the hotel and on our excursion. Snorkeling rocks. We went kayaking at the hotel and met lots of amazing people both guests and employees. We had a great time at the market and while having a personal tour of the town by horse and carriage. The shows were colourful and entertaining. The ocean water was amazing, I wanted to bring it home. I highly recommend this hotel.

Playa Pesquero: Wonderful hotel

Every aspect of Playa Pesquero was worthy of 5* rating. Whole area/beach very clean, the pool was perfect, food excellent, Varied entertainment for all ages and a very warm and friendly staff. Can't wait to return.

Excellent Food, Beautiful Beach, Great friendly and helpful staff. Big clean pool. All around great resort. Wine was really good as well. We have been twice to this resort and plan on returning again in the future

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Still the best!!!

We had a great time. The resort was warm and welcoming from the time we arrived to when we departed. Our rooms were nice, clean and well maintained. The resort grounds are also well maintained, staff always kept walkways clean and pool area is kept spotless. Beach was nice to have a nice walk, it was a little rocky in the water though.The servers and activity personnel treated us like we were family and couldn't do enough for us. Restaurants are wonderful. The different verity of cuisine was remarkable. We will go back. Perfect place to relax!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Lots of Renos going on at Club Amigo

This was my 20th time to this hotel. We go a couple times a year to meet up with people from all over Canada and the UK. Things have really gone downhill and some of the regular staff are no longer there. I understand it is low season and they are doing renos but the part that is open should look fresh and clean but it all looks very run down. The Pros * most of the staff that are there are wonderful - we did have a few issues * they have brought the beach party back - was suppose to be ev [... read more]ery tues but now once a month * some thought the food was better than other times - only 2 ala carts open in low season - check out Bennys for lunch for pizza, pasta, ribs, chicken or fish and of course fries * 24 hr bar is moved to infront of wine bar - still serves food and drinks 24 hrs * the Villa pool is still in good shape and Villa rooms are not bad - some are under renos * Halloween party was fun - we did not go to any of the other shows - but heard they were good - water show, black light show, etc Cons * so many renos and areas shut down - all of bungalows are under renos, the old hotel is all closed and looks like it should be all shut down for good * The grass needs to be cut - it was over a foot long - they were starting to cut it as the week went on but it just looks so run down * they seem to be running on the bare necessities at the bars - ran out of white wine and vodka every day * entertainment staff are basically none existent - what do they do all day??? seems like they are hiding - lots of work to do here to get up to par with other resorts * there are a lot of students - some are good and some need coaching - they should not be left alone trying to serve hoards of people at the swim up bar * Pirate bar was closed - not sure if it will ever be open * 24 hr bar was closed due to renos - not sure it will be open for high season * Wine bar is open but not the same since the main bartender left * Buffet food is not the same since one of the main cooks left - it really was the same every night - except for the pasta which was OK * the price - the price should reflect the services available which it does not - we usually go at Xmas but this yr we are not going - we can go to Mexico for cheaper!! In summary Club Amigo needs to make a number of changes if it wants to keep the regulars that keep coming back or lower the price to align with the services available. We go to see other friends and to visit with locals which we can do at another resort in the area for a better value.
