Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Very Relaxing

This was our 4th stay at a Gran Bahia Resort and it was exactly what we expected. Clean, Comfortable, and Relaxing with Great Service and Friendly staff. Luis at the Main Buffet is amazing and deserves a promotion. He should be training everyone on how to treat guests, it wasnt only us it was everyone that crossed his path. Jennifer, Yuliesi and Mayellin were also exceptional bartenders/servers. the Meditteranean restaurant is excellent. Usually i love the pool and the swim up bar at resorts but it was next to impossible to find a decent seat. we kept to the beach which was cleaned every morning and we had no issues w sand fleas as ive read in the past. Service on the beach would be a huge plus!!! Other then that we got exactly what we expected.

Riu Merengue: Another great trip

The Riu Merengue was great. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The grounds in the Merengue Garden are well kept. The flowering plants were in bloom making for a very pleasant setting. The beach is constantly being raked to keep it clean, the water was warm and pleasant. The quality of the food has improved since our stay last year with lots of choice to suit every taste. All in all the Merengue Gardens is our resort of choice and we will be returning next year.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Quality resort for the right price!

The resort is slightly showing its age. The rooms, though clean, look used and abused. The common areas are well maintained and well spaced out on the resort. The restaurants offer an acceptable variety of food but like most inexpensive resorts, the à-la-carte restaurants are way below average. The beach is quaint and well positioned between rock escarpments which prevent locals from venturing onto the resort. There are also three cold water adult-only jacuzzis. The staff is friendly and accommodating if you remain calm and polite. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Returning Vacationers!

This was our second time to the Iberostar Costa Dorada. We were not disappointed! The staff at this resort are by far the friendliest and helpful of any resort we have been to. Attention to detail. Our maid Felicia did a fantastic job looking after us.We had everything we needed. Anything we asked for it was in our room! Beautiful towel art every day! Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Not A 4 1/2 Star

We just spent 14 days at the RIU Bachata in Puerto Plata . The first night was not good, our room was only set up for two people and there was three of us. I went to the front desk and explained to them that this would not work for us as my sister in law would not like to share her bed with the wife and I and that we needed another bed put into the room and that we had requested that when we booked our trip,The women on duty said that this is how Sun wing sets up the rooms. The room was always warm and even though they sent some one up to look at it never got any better they just put it off as being to hot out side and the equipment to old.I think this resort needs a magor up grade and should only be rated as a 3 ½ star. The next issue that we have is the beach in front of the Bachata it is very dirty and disgusting ! Their was garbage floating in the water and on the beach it self. My wife and I and another couple went walking on the beach and found a Sirenge and the Needle still in it , they took it to one off the shops on the beach and they just said no problem and put it in a hollow tree trunk, THIS is NOT EXCEPTLE.!!!!!!!! They need to do something with the intertamment . This is not good for a 4 star resort. We found the food to be excellent and the room maids excellent along with all the staff .

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Good for the price

Overall, good resort if you are travelling with friends/family. 20 mins from airport There are a LOT of pools and VIP areas thus, resort is quite segregated. (different types of VIP - lifestyles beach and harmony beach are for timeshares, VIP - junior suites access) No issues with getting a chair around the pools as there are not many people there. Entrainment was good when they had it. As the resort is so large, I felt the entrainment staff were quite spread out. All bartenders were fantastic and no complaints with the alcohol. Buffet (pearl) was good (even for a picky eater) but did not have a lot of options. Brazilian and Italian al la cartes were amazing. Spa services were good - if you book a massage, you get to use the pools, hot tubs, sauna all week. upgrading to the Junior suite was worth it - room was beautiful - AC worked amazing, sometimes too cold - fridge is only stocked once/week - water daily. if you want it stocked more often, find the guy filling the rooms, tip him a few $$ and he will fill it every day for you. - Junior suite comes with VIP beach access - this area was a long walk from Cofresi but there were lounge beds, bartender service to your lounger and you could order food (food was good, sushi available as well). No pool or actual beach in this area but there were a few "cold tubs". the only time i was bothered for timeshares were outside of the Buffett but this only happened maybe twice The only downfall I found was: The golf carts!. Members get access to the golf carts and drive them around ALLLLLL the time forcing me off the path onto the grass to walk. Shuttles are slow thus, you are forced to walk everywhere. Was it worth the money - Yes Would I return - No

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: A Great Vacation!!

What a great place to go on our first vacation!! The staff at this resort were amazing. The food was great! Everything was clean and organized. There was and had been huge rainfall when we first arrived which led to a minor leak in the roof of our room but the rest of the vacation made up for this small mishap. We will definitely go back to this resort!!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Good resort

Overall it was a very good resort. The service was great and the place kept very clean. The food was good and restaurants were excellent. The only low point of the trip was having so many places that were vip only. At times it would be discouraging to go to a bar or event to find out that you were not aloud in,

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Awesome staff

We were returning guests to the Riu Bachata, after having enjoyed a week-long vacation at your resort February 16-23, 2016. We enjoyed our time at the Bachata so much that we are returned for two weeks this year, March 28 - April 11, 2017.The fantastic staff there, which included Whitney, Salami, Luis Pablo, Candy Crush, Kitty Kat, Hansel, Muriel just to name a few. We also went there purposely to seek out our favorite groundskeeper Ramon, who, last year, climbed trees to get us fresh coconuts [... read more]. Sadly, and with deep condolences, we've heard that he has since passed away. This news definitely was the only huge damper that we had during our stay at the Riu Bachata. We've recommended your resort as a perfect vacation getaway to our friends and family, and as a result, there is a couple heading your way for a week's stay on April 28th, 2017. The only recommendation would be to have an ATM in the lobby, as we had to take a $25 cab to Puerto Plata to get more cash for gifts, extra excursions etc. Last year, there was one at the entrance of the resort, that is no longer there. The grounds, food, pool beach set up, employees all amazing! Lots of stairs but for those who don't want to take them, there's lots of alternate routes or upgrade to VIP and get a golf cart to help you out.

Beautiful place. But not Mobil friendly. A lot of stairs. Rooms were alittle older but very clean. We had a wonderful time. Beach was beautiful. Lots of wind. Had a great time in the water. Food was great. Very nice people.

The hotel is older but in good repair. The staff are more than willing to assist in any way possible. The 3 pools are well maintained. My favorite was the second largest pool, it had two smaller pools for relaxation. It had its own bar area and just two steps from the beach. There was lots of night shows, beach parties for us to enjoy. There was some place open where you could get food almost all the time, even in the middle of the night. Over all I would suggest anyone wanting to go somewhere for a beautiful vacation, this would be a great place to pick. Fun in the sun, friendly people and very relaxing, with lots of activities for everyone to enjoy.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Good Resort, Good Food

Girl's trip !!! We normally cruise but decided to try an all-inclusive resort for a change. We had a great time and thought the food was good, not the fine dining we were used to but acceptable. This resort is great for Spanish speaking or French speaking people, not so great if English is your language of choice. You would think with the resort being around for awhile and many travelers from Canada going there that their English would be better instead of just looking at you when you ask them s [... read more]omething. The resort is a long drive from the airport, so if you don't mind sitting on a bus for 90 minutes or more to get there after the flight it's for you. For the value I would go back with my family or husband but not with a bunch of girls looking for a party atmosphere because that was lacking.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Misleading !!!

The resort pictures are very misleading. The resorts itself is ok, but not for the anyone who has walking issues or family friendly with small children - a lot of stairs on the Cofresi side. The rooms, aswell on the Cofresi side are unsatisfactory for the price. Some had no air, no hot water in most rooms, patio doors do not lock and overall below any standards. It is farther then the indicated distance from the airport and don't ask for any upgrade you will just get the excuses. Overall, very disappointing resort for the money and will not be returning.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Relaxing stay

Very good resort, not too big and everything close by, waking distance of 5 min to the beach, i called it my Zen walk, food was good, favorite was the Italian on the beach, could not do water (catamaran) due to choppy water all week, preferred the pool for swimming and lots of animation activities from their team during the day, nice variety of ages, you felt comfortable to just chill and read, or participate in the activities if you felt bored. Treat them with respect, and they will do the same.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Great stay

The resort was very clean and enjoyable. Although my room was next to construction of a new building we still enjoyed our stay. I recommend a jr sweet for they are much much more nicer then your basic room. Food was good and staff were very friendly.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Awesome Resort

Hotel was kept clean all around food was good ppl were very friendly.. great place all around..even the toilets in common areas were kept very clean.. no problems here..great place for the value......

Yes the food was good and always lot of it and the weather was perfect, but unfortunately I got very sick after 4 days but I did eat outside the resort so... who knows... it is what it is! Cleanliness was lacking in the room. Hotel was clean, staff amazing, food was good, right in town, so close to everything. great 3 star hotel not for people looking for a 5 star want a good place to stay at a good price, this is a good buy . would return .

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Best Resort

The VH Gran Ventana is the best resort we have stayed at, The service and welcome starts as soon as you get off the bus. The staff appreciate you for using their resort from the maids to bartenders and servers right to the management. The food is great from breakfast to lunch and supper, they have enough variety that anyone should be able to find something they like. The resort is small enough that walking to the beach and to dinning and entertainment is all with in minutes. The Playa Dorada [... read more] complex is safe for walking, shopping and enjoying the sunshine. The beach itself has a natural coral reef in front and is great for snorkeling to see all the different fish. You go once to this resort and become family.
