Viva Heavens by Wyndham: No 5 star

A few positive comments The chicken was quick and easy the rum is really really nice large airy and the linens were lovely. also, the staff were helpful very kind and sweet. Unfortunately, I found the food to be almost cafeteria style with some items that were in edible. Meet items for instance. Generally the fish was OK but nothing seem to have any spice or much taste. However, the alternative was to sit at the pool, which if you hadn’t been there by 6 o’clock in the morning was impossible to get a chair as two older couples trave Ing together the music was endless, sound loud and quite unpleasant. I could go on and on, but I guess in the end we made the most of the situation and enjoyed our company with our friends

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: A good place to take it easy

We stayed at the Catalonia Bavaro in Punta Cana. We went for 8 days, and had a great time. The staff was friendly, and the resort was well kept. We had some language barriers (which our booking agent mentioned at the time of the booking), so that proved a little more difficult than originally thought. We were able to communicate well enough, and the resort uses WhatsApp for all of their communication, which was very helpful. The food was good, but not out of this world. The rooms were nic [... read more]e, and the wifi was decent. We stayed on the family side which was nice. The only thing for us that we found frustrating was the room cleaning schedule and lack of fresh towels. We would leave at the same time daily when the cleaning staff arrived, and we would come back about 5-6 hours later only to be asked to leave our room so they could clean. Overall it's a nice place to go and honestly take in a week of sun.

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Peaceful resort

Hotel was lovely lots of steps but we loved it. Beach was small but private and we enjoyed the quietness. Food was fine some food could have been hotter. Perfect views of the ocean and you can watch the whales breach whilst sipping a cocktail.

Arrived Feb,19 th. .Room view was dissapointed,Construction fence blocking view..The hotel finally gave us new room,balance of week was great.Would recommend other than there where too many babies crying in restaurants,Staff was excellent,

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Beautiful resort

We just got back from The Royalton Punta Cana. The resort is beautiful, service was very good and the food plentiful. We ate at many different restaurants over the week and enjoyed the Japanese one most! We had a very helpful butler Omar with the diamond club. He worked hard to get us reservations over the course of the week. Unfortunately two of us got sick during the week. More like a 24 hour bug but still no fun. Beach was lovely. Riu Bambu: Peaceful and relaxing

Just returned from the trip to Riu Bambu, Punta Cana. Overall it was very nice trip. Room was clean and staff lovely. Both Sunwing agents Jonathan and Raysa were very helpful and professional. Thanks to them, trip that started with some challenges turned in to relaxing vacation.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Beware

We booked this resort and were sent to their sister resort with no notification. Service was terrible. Rooms were dated, no hot water, and toilets overflowed. We had to pay $375 for a room with a functioning toilet. Staff were rude and not helpful. If you had a question they would always send you to someone else. They made you feel like you were a bother.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Amazing, grounds are kept immaculate

The rooms are huge. Food was good, always able to find something to eat - picky eater. The grounds were beautiful and well kept.trams ran every 20 minutes so there was not a long wait to get to other side of resort, it is walking distance.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great Resort, beautiful beach!

I think for the price, this resort was well worth it. All basic amenities were included. The food was great, lots of variety. The rooms were a good size, outdated but functional. The actual resort was very well kept, constantly clean and had plenty of space and activities. The staff were absolutely amazing. They made the experience at the resort phenomenal. The beach was absolutely gorgeous. A beautiful spot to relax and also enjoy a bit of night life in nature.

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Gorgeous Resort!

This resort was super nice! Our room was located in a building that was right near the pool, buffet, and beach, which made it very convenient. It was only a short walk to the other restaurants or main lobby area. The beach had ample chairs and great sand! A little bit rocky in the water but still very great for swimming.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Beautiful resort!

Hotel was beautiful. Food was delicious and well presented. Service was poor to fair. We were never offered tea or coffee in the morning and when we did ask, we sometimes did not get it until the end of our meal. Some servers did not understand when we wanted tea instead of coffee. We ended up serving ourselves at the tea and coffee bar so that we had some with our meal. We noticed that we were almost the only people that tipped. Was this because the service was bad, or that people were cheap? Not sure. Even though we were constant tippers it did not make a difference in our service. No consistency on who waited on you even though we sat at the same table every time. We ate out at the beach restaurant for lunch everyday. Not once were we offered drinks. When we did order them after stopping a waiter, they only came a couple of times. Beach was fabulous. Great for snorkeling and just hanging out. Did have to go out by 7:30 in order to snag beach chairs. Activities on the beach were good fun. Didn't try a dance class. Our room was in need of a few repairs. Just minor stuff, however, our shower did leak all over the floor. It was always well made up when we returned in the afternoon. Drinks were very good and well appreciated. Bar service very slow. Lobby was beautiful. We spent our last day in the pouring rain and it was nice to see people using the lobby for games We didn't spend much time in the pool as there was no shade. It was a beautiful pool . Grounds were lovely and we enjoyed the cats lying around. We had our favorites. For Air Transat who we booked our trip with, we asked for 3 rooms close together and were in 3 totally separate buildings 2 which were far apart. We booked in October and this request was not filled. People need to know that doing all the computer work that needs to be done by the customer will take a lot of time. We attempted to do our entry into DR on my laptop, it would not take my birthday, so we started over on my husband's phone. His phone would not accept my birthday. So we started over on an i pad. Finally we were in. Then there was booking our seats and booking our ticket. We do not own a printer, so we had to go somewhere else to do all this. It took us 3 hours and a lot of frustration. What exactly are travel agents doing these days? It is not a fun way to start a vacation. When we were leaving, we tried to book our seats for our return flight, got all the way to the end and it would not accept our phone number. We tried all 3 of our phone numbers and none of them worked. So we gave up and waited until we got to the airport. We learned that you have to put a 1 in front of the phone number. How were we to know that? Our biggest shock was being finger printed at customs in DR. Kind of disturbing. Overall, a lovely resort although there was no where to really walk too. We took a taxi into town that was set up by the hotel. Driver spoke no English so was unable to explain anything to us. When we arrived at the "tourist" drop off, a man met us on the sidewalk and explained that the taxi driver worked for him. This lead us to suspect that this man took a good part of the money we paid, the hotel probably got a cut for their advertisement of the taxi service and the taxi driver got what was left over. Had we known all this we would have got to town in another way.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Everything great except for the bed in the room

I was happy with the resort except for that we only had water stations and when I went to get water from the water station outside our room it was filled with sludge and than when we checked into our room room 3007 the bed was damp we reported it to the desk and that we wanted to be moved but because they were Full the couldn’t move us and within two days I was sick because Of sleeping in a damp bed and when one of our friends touched our bed they couldn’t get over how wet it was and we even t [... read more]urned the air conditioning off and it didn’t help so my week of vacation I was sick and came home Sick and ended up on antibiotics and puffers because Of it I will never stay on the ground floor again.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Relaxing vacation

This resort is proably a 3.5 star. Food was ok. Rooms clean, property maintained. The beach was our only problem. Lot of garbage and seaweed not good for snorkling. If it wasnt for the beach i would go back. We are beach people. If you like to hang around the pool you are all set. Beautiful pool. Still enjoyed ourselfves and will go back to Dominican

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Gran Ventana Beach Resort Puerta Plata

This was our 3rd time here , I’d give this resort a 5 * , we were a group of 8 all seniors ? .Rooms cleaned and roomy , meals were delicious , loved the Ocean beach bar , Nachos , chicken wings, Burgers , hotdogs and fries . Drinks were all good , we did a la carte once that we booked it was delicious, we were late booking 8:30 so the rest we did buffet . Lots of choices no complaints . He spoke to us all and welcomed any suggestions, he has an open door policy . Also a big shout out to William Pichardo (security at entrance) he was kind to give us a lift to the shopping centre . We’ll definitely be back ????

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Amazing resort

This hotel was great place for a vacation, it was clean, great service, staff was great provided everything that we needed with buffet, lunch and supper. The beach was perfect, very private area. Our room had the perfect view of the ocean, sunsets were incredible.

Vik Hotel Cayena Beach: Amazing Resort!

Our resort was amazing the VIP is the only way to go. Highly recommend. The only downside is the nightly entertainment was not good, however we did not book trip for the night life but rather to enjoy the beach!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Good overall

The service here is a hit and miss. There are some that just don't give the best vibe. Also the food is becoming a bit repetitive and it wasn't as good as it was last year. Shout out to the friendliest waiter, Felix. Anthony running the front desk was understandable and helped make our vacation what we expected. Thank you.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Great Resort!!!

If you are looking for a very relaxing vacation I would definitely recommend the Melia Punta Cana Beach. I would also recommend upgrading to the Level section in the adults only. The proximity to the beach, the additional amenities as well as the breakfast, lunch and dinner A La Carte is definitely worth it.

We came here 2x in the past when it was luxury we will not return here it was dirty including the pool we were refused dessert at the a la Cartes we actually took tips off the table one of my outfits was taken and later returned after I left a letter the grounds were littered with garbage and the lobby waitresses were HORRIBLE the lobby bar and tenders were great!!! We were in the Adult Only Area ! Loved the adult pool area calmer and very central. We loved the room 4314, no elevators but the resort is accessible friendly. Only 1 buffet restaurant and food is on repeat ! Drinks are well done small glasses so I was happy I brought my own. As for TOWELS ! Terrible and very disorganized. Wasn’t able to gain access to a new towel daily and almost needed to be a bully for them to give me one after day 2. So consider bringing your own.
