Riu Playa Blanca: Riu

Hotel is clean but to white no colours in it has an upscale downtown feel with the gray and red interior.The food is better than most places except not a lot see food like lobster ,beer should be better than tap for a 5 star ,Ron abuelo exelent .Chairs at the beach is hard to get need to reserve it early in the morning. The most complains I would have is the airplane hours departing from Toronto to often delayed .Montreal and Quebec have same day more convenient departures and on time to

Riu Palace Paradise Island: NICE STAY AT THE RIU

Enjoyed our stay in the Bahamas RUI Hotel we went from Feb 18-25/2018 the temp was perfect 28-30 every day nice clean neat hotel and grounds service was very good as was the food only issue was they don't take reservations for the four restaurants . as their limited seating makes it tough to get in unless you want to stand in line for one hour or more for dinner other than that we enjoyed it alot

Riu Ocho Rios: Great Experience

Extremely clean resort with staff who obviously care about their guests. High quality tasty food, no reservations ever required for a-la-carte meals. Clock radios and Coffee Makers missing in some rooms - no biggie!

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Superb Hotel & Staff

The Riu Palace could not have been any better. We requested an early check in time and that was granted. The food in the buffet changed every evening and contained all the foods that we would have wanted. They even had ice cream outside that we could access from the stairs to the beach. The pools were clean and great temperatures. The bartenders were pleasant and so was the entire staff. They were always asking us how we were doing and were we enjoying our stay. Since the hotel is right on the beach it made it very convenient to access and to replenish food or drinks. However, the best, had to be the jerk chicken by the pool. It was awesome. We were very pleased with our choice to stay at this hotel.

Riu Palace Antillas: Vacation Foibles

First (and probably last time) we've ridden on Sunwing Airlimes. Cramped space and no alternative seating available. For a 4.5 hour trip this is hardly acceptable. Visited Aruba during the rainy season - both windy and rained about 3 times a day each day. Wasn't aware it would be that bad. Swimming pool was cold as was the ocean. Very surprising! Hotel safe was repaired 3 times while we waited in the room. Beach in front of the hotel was rife with garbage and glass in places. Picked [... read more] up as we went along. Funny thing, other hotels groomed their beach front. Worst of all, smoking allowed on the hotel grounds, around the pool, the casino and lounge areas outside as well. Not going back there, thanks!

Riu Guanacaste: Great Value :)

The RIU Guanacaste is a beautiful resort ! They keep the grounds and the rooms very clean. Pool area is extremely busy and you have to put your towels down early to get a seat. The monkeys and Iquanas are amazing to see :) The food at the buffet is good, nothing special. The Asian and Italian alacart is great :) No complaints....great vacation :)

Riu Ocho Rios: Beautiful resort

The resort and grounds were beautiful. The beach was large, white sand and turquoise water, great buffet with lots of variety , easy to find seating and nightly entertainment was excellent! Great location, 10 min cab ride to Dunn’s river falls.

Riu Guanacaste: Playa

had a lovely family holiday. Extra tours are expensive. Need activities for teenagers Lovely warm ( 30-36 degrees) dry climate and quite windy most days. Nightly shows had some marvellous dancing and acrobatic portions. Good coffee but would have liked a coffee pot in the room

Riu Flamingos: Amazing Resort

We had such a great time, the resort was beautiful, the staff were great, the food and entertainment was outstanding. We went on the tour to go see Cirque du Solei and was amazing. we would definitely go back.

Riu Flamingos: So wonderful!

This hotel was fantastic, the food was great, the people amazing! The staff was amazing, they did so much, and always had a smile on their faces! There was always something fun to do and always someone there to help you if needed! Amazing!

Riu Merengue: Disappointed this year.

The physical features of the resort were all quite satisfactory. Problems were due to some sort of reorganization ie facilities on our end of the resort were either closed or curtailed for all or part of the week. Our main restaurant was closed all week. Our second but much smaller restaurant was open only for lunch from Monday through Thursday but then on Friday it started to serve all three meals. Besides the beach bar which which always closed early, our only other bar opened at 10 a.m.but  [... read more]closed at 5:30 pm until Friday, when hours were extended to midnight. Due to the closures and short hours we were forced to use the facilities in other parts of the resort which meant fairly long walks and crowded restaurants and bars when we got there. Because of overcrowding at these other facilities we encountered long waits, a lack of seating, no dishes or cutlery,etc. We even had to walk to the other area for beach towels/hair dryer. Not a good experience! Last year we attended the same resort and everything was very good overall.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: It's better in the Bahamas!

We loved our stay at the Riu Palace Paradise Island. The accommodations were great, food was amazing, staff were very friendly (shout out to Kisha at the front desk!) Beach was beautiful. Our only complaint would be that it would be nice if things like kayaking, paddle boarding etc were offered.

Riu Vallarta: Very nice,

this would be my least favorite riu resort that i have been to. Resort is nice,but needs a makeover and the new format for booking al a carte restaraunts is very dumb. Also they need more washrooms for the pool and beach area, currently there is only one for both pools and the beach. The food was good and the staff were very helpful . Overall , you cant go wrong with the riu resorts

Riu Montego Bay: Just what we wanted!

My daughter and I were very pleased with this resort. Top 3 priorities for us (1) cleanliness (2) respectful staff (3) good nightly entertainment. All were excellent. The resort is small but we enjoyed it much more than we have some other larger resorts we have stayed at. Small on size but big on customer service and entertainment. Buffet was good, as good as buffets can be. What we enjoyed about the buffet was they actually changed the menu up each night. Some staples stayed the same but sectio [... read more]ns were changed to offer variety. Staff were so pleasant and not pushy or touchy at all. Grounds and room were spotless. Room cleanliness is very important to me. Nice added feature was how the entrance to rooms were laid out. Each room entrance had a hallway with their own corridor with a second door. This really created for a quiet room. Very old Zenith tube TV in room but we didn't care. Watched Olympics late at night so it served its purpose. Overall very nice resort. Would go back.

Riu Guanacaste: Beautiful location, lovely resort, great food for all.

We loved the hotel, the pool, the beach, the restaurants and the proximity to activities for the kids. My kids really enjoyed the sports bar, bingo and other activities they could do around the resort. The rooms were decent, we had a view of the ocean and the resort next door. We could see the sunset from our balcony. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was a great selection that even my pickiest eater could find something he enjoyed.

Riu Guanacaste: Best weather ever!

We stayed at the Riu Guanacaste once before and had a great time both visits. The hotel is lovely and well maintained. The gardens are beautiful and we could watch Howler monkeys most day from our hotel balcony. The food is very good and the staff are friendly and helpful. We went for a beach walk every morning to watch the sunrise and saw two baby turtles hatch and make their run to the sea. We provided "air cover" so that no birds ate them before they made it to the sea. This resor [... read more]t is located far from any towns but there are lots of excursions you can take. It's perfect for a week of relaxing. There are kayaks, paddle boards and wind surfers for guests to use and the sea is beautiful and warm there. We will be back. Riu Cancun: HOT SPOT

Hotel and location is excellent. Rooms were functional spectacular views crazy comfy beds. Only down fall NO Mimosa for breakfast:( Service was great! Great food! Drinks...don't remember haha Entertainment staff was fantastic! Beach was beautiful Beach walk to the light house is a must!

Riu Santa Fe: SO SO

was disappointed about the noise from the construction next to the hotel and when we first entert the room the smell was bad and the view was the back of the Riu Palast overall the quality was not as good as for 2 years ago the price was 500$ more per person and I found out that the same deal from Calgary 500$ cheaper i would recommend this hotel only if there is a notice about the construction it will go on for at least for 2 years . I found the price not fair for the situation .

Riu Merengue: Decent for the price

Very nice beach and pools. Big resort with lots of people. Not recommended for singles, or young partiers. No real nightlife on resort...Disco charges for drinks (was always empty for good reason), and the bar that stays open passed 11pm is just a big hall....no music. Not a bad place for the price.

Riu Palace Antillas: amazing vacation

We absolutely loved Aruba and were very happy at the Riu Antilles. The people working there are all amazing, happy and friendly and everyone speaks english. The grounds were kept meticulous. They are always cleaning and making sure everything looks perfect. The rooms were very clean. My only negative would be that they need to be updated. The rooms are very big but the bathroom needs fixing up badly. The food was great. We went to every restaurant except the Arubian one. They were all am [... read more]azing and the buffet was incredible. Everything was fresh and always different varieties of food. The beach and pool areas were beautiful. Never a problem getting a chair at the beach. They do not do bar service at the beach only at the pool area. but the bar is right there so not a problem for us. We loved walking out the front door and being able to walk into town within minutes. There is also a boardwalk that runs along the entire beach which was great too. Gorgeous water colors, powdery white sand, there was never any seaweed. We would return to the Riu in a heartbeat.
