Paradisus Rio De Oro: Paradisus Rio De Oro - ROYAL SERVICE
Well I cannot say enough about my stay at the Royal Service. Had not been on vacation in over 25yrs and Bev Johnson suggested the best. Had a 2nd floor apt just a walk away to a private beach with a bar and the ocean view room was unbelievable .My personal butler looked after me and arranged outings (just me) and made reservations at all the restaurants which were in both lobbys (food was the best I ever had since I am a Chef myself). At nite the music and entertainment was super where I me [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great resort
I absolutely loved everything about it. I would return anytime. Beautiful resort and the staff are simply wonderful. All so friendly and helpful. The food was great. I loved all the different restaurants available. Pool bar also super. All in all I simply loved it.
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing and relaxing
If you’re looking for something quiet and relaxing with some good evening entertainment this is the resort you want. The resort was amazing well kept and very clean. The people that worked on the resort we’re very nice intentive and generous. The beaches are amazing. The food I give a 7 out of 10 Which is really good for Cuba, although the selection at the Buffy could be a little bit better but All in all I would have to say my experience at this resort was amazing, one of my better trips [... read more]
Melia Las Americas: PERFECT!
BEST place I've stayed in Cuba... The resort was beautiful... Fabulous food. Amazing beach. lovely staff. The transfer from the airport is only 30mins and 10mins to downtown Varadero I would recommend this resort to anyone! and especially any golfers as its right on the ONLY golf course in Cuba! and such a a gorgeous course. perfectly maintained
Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Friendly staff, Run-down resort
Much of the staff couldn't speak English but they were always friendly. The grounds were well maintained, beach was very nice. The room was not well maintained, smelly & the food was by far the worst.
Hotel Vigia: Never Disapointed!
This is my 4th time a Sol Cayo Guilermo, and once again I enjoyed my stay there. A smaller resort, with a staff that is friendly, and helpful. The room was cleaned and cared for early each morning, . We enjoyed our meals at the buffet and specialty dining room where the servers and cooks were always looking after us. There were many choices of food. We enjoyed the nightly shows, and music in the lobby. You can't beat the beach, and pool is always refreshing. Hopefully, I'll be able to go [... read more]
Sol Palmeras: Sol Palmeras...my 3rd vacation here
This Resort and the people who work here are so friendly and caring to all the guests...being my third trip to Sol Palmeras,I have developed many friendships and they make feel like family now . I am definitely heading back next October. The restaurants are great and the service is fantastic. The buffet is incredible with so many choices. I was pleasantly surprised to see some changes in the decor...I liked it before but the changes create a wonderful seating area where you are able to enjoy [... read more]
Memories Cayo Largo: Rooms had better days...
Sol appartements are looking great from the outside, but... After a late evening check in that lasted for an hour, we were assigned room 1011. We walked to it at about 10PM, the resort looking in good condition under the electric lights. We opened the door and walked in, quickly realizing that the AC had'nt been turned on prior to our arrival. Managing to turn a grim light on, we sadly noticed the poor condition of the furniture that had been painted in white a few times already but in dire [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Wonderful to Relax & Explore
This Melia resort is one of my all time favourites! The layout is great because all room accommodations and villas are close to recreational amenities and restaurants. The beach is just a 2-5 min walk from anywhere on the resort and Varadero has one of the best beaches in all of the Caribbean. Here's my evaluation of various resort amenities including the guest experience: Room & Accommodation - 4/5 Food - 4/5 Swimming Pool - 5/5 Beach - 4/5 Bars - 4.5/5 Housekeeping - 3.5/5 Front Desk [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Resort could use some attention.
Yes the Resort could use some attention, but don't let this stop you from visiting! We are regular travelers to Cuba and try to use different Resorts each time we travel. One of the best beaches we have seen in the Country, the snorkeling was AWESOME! The workers on the Resort were perfect, we had a few issues with our room the first couple days we arrived but a quick phone call to Maintenance and everything was taken care of. The food was great even for our 8 year old. The weather was OUT STAND [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: What a Difference a Year Makes
Last year after Hurricane Irma we visited the hotel and it was in great shape. This year the foliage has fully returned to all the trees and the flowers are out in bloom. Work has continued on upgrades to this resort. Just before we arrived a new GM/Director was installed replacing the former who arrived last January. The Tex Mex restaurant was closed for renovations but was available off nights in the Mediterranean. Although it is considered off season all facilities were operating. The staff a [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Look no further!
Beautiful resort, great staff, amazing beach with snorkeling and the food is fantastic. What more do you need? Almost every couple we spoke to were back for their 4th, 9th or 10th time. We fell in love on our first trip and we want think about going anywhere else.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Our stay at Paradisus Rio De Oro
Beautiful resort and would give it a 4.85 stars. The food was very good, with an excellent fish/seafood bar with a Chef and lots of vegetables. The a la carte Restaurants, are awesome. It is a no children resort, therefore a bonus for those who want to rest and drink. Beautiful pool. The entertainment was a step up from other resorts we have been in Cuba. The only only issue was with the airline "Sunwing" which I do not wish to ever fly again as they changed out flight at the last minute and to [... read more]
Hotel Vigia: Fantastic staff
Sol Cayo Guillermo is a favorite resort of ours because of the staff, beach and size. Unfortunately the hotel was not very busy and with reduced numbers the hotel has to manage costs by closing amenities. The Ranchon beach restaurant was closed for our entire week. This restaurant was our favorite lunch place, best food actually, when we were there in February. The buffet was limited to different kinds of eggs at breakfast, but had a good cheese selection. We had lunch at the grill next to [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Unfortunately not as good as the add!
People in Cuba are very nice, always. We enjoyed the room which was clean but the balcony’s door didn’t close properly and the screen wasn’t working. The wifi didn’t work even though we bought a card with the password. And the food choice was terrible.
Sol Cayo Coco: What a great vacation
This was my first stay at this hotel and Cayo Coco. I was traveling alone and last minute so i thought i would try this resort. I checked a few mixed reviews and booked it. The pros: the beach and the entire grounds are very clean. I had dinner in both restaurants and the meals were great. The cuban rum bar had authentic cuban cocktails and had a great view of the lobby and shows. The coffee was awesome and the area was kept cool with fans and they always had staff waiting to serve you. M [... read more]
Melia Buenavista: Still beautiful as ever
Once again our stay at Melia Buenavista was amazing! This was our 4th time here and glad we decided to visit again this year. Everywhere is clean, people are very friendly and food was great! The last 3 visits the food was not the best as we would always go to other resorts for dinner but this time we didn't want to eat anywhere else. The food quality increased 100% and that makes a big difference. The morning buffet has changed since our first visit as it used to serve hot and cold food but [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Will Never Stay There again or Recommend
We stayed at The Melia Marina Varadero from Nov 3.2018 to Nov 10.2018. My review will be in point form: - I liked the main lobby - the staff were friendly - if you want good service and good food book Levels for thos resort - our balcony door did not close so our room had to be changed - there was mold anf rusting in the rooms they have poor ventilation added to the fact that the shower area has no door to close it leaves the bathroom foggy and sweaty - this hotel was 5 years old in Aug [... read more]
Sol Palmeras: Amazing Veradero
The lobby area and front have all been renovated and were clean and very modern looking. The physical buffet hall was clean and well serviced. There was very enjoyable vocalists in the lobby every evening after dinner and all were great. There was also a small kiosk for cigars and rum in the evening that was convenient tho the staff didn't speak English very well.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Excellent Vacation stay
We had an amazing 7 days in Cuba and cannot wait to go back! Our resort was fantastic with stunning views from our second floor balcony. Such friendly people that teated us like a good friend, we felt very welcomed and truly enjoyed our stay. We read a lot of reviews complaining about the food and I was expecting it to be much worse than it actually was, I found it to be quite acceptable for "buffet" style. Our best meals were in Havana and the Cuban allacart(spelling?). Amazing beach, excelle [... read more]
