Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: The best and worst place

Incredible views! Great beach, although it is a public beach and you will be accosted by people trying to sell you things. The food is the worst I have ever encountered in Cuba, and I am very accustomed to Cuban resort food. Rooms are very dated, but bed was very comfortable and A/C worked great. Always lots of hot water any time of day, which is a first for me in Cuba. Staff were very friendly, and always were smiling. Had sangria available at every bar, which is unusual for Cuba [... read more]. Would not stay here again, though. The food was that bad, although in fairness, it was safe to eat. Did not hear of anyone getting sick. Just very little choice, and what there was, was overcooked and flavourless, or actually tasted awful, such as the "Lasagna Bolognese" which had rice, peas and carrots with a brown sauce, and was served every night. For such a large resort, seating is very limited in the buffet and lobby. Can't imagine what I'd would be like during high season.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort

Forest around and cliff for ocean . Wonderful room service. Easy for borrow equipment such as fin stuff. Sailing boat is wonderful Excellent for Smokering Idea relax on the top of cliff Huge room

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Nice, Quiet Resort

Stayed at the Plus section in late October. Very quiet - probably half the buildings were closed. For us (parents), it was great - no lineups, no problems finding space/shade at the beach/pool, relaxing etc. However, the two 18-year olds in our party found the animation team poor, and the disco was dead each night. The food was great at the a la cartes - best is the Italian - and fine at the buffet, if a bit lacking in variety. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great Time

Although the hotel was under large renovations we had a Great time stayed din tropical room in main building it was vey clean and every thing worked well had no issues..drinks and service were excellent grounds were kept very tidy ..staff was great ..food is food its Cuba but never short and always something to eat ..hamburgers r awful though ..all and all defintaley great place for the money it cost

Brisas Guardalavaca: Boring

The resort itself was nice and as usual the workers are amazing...if you're looking for a night life this is not the place. You have to be quiet after midnight and there is security everywhere like its on lockdown. The food was the worst I've had and I've been to 10 other resorts in Cuba. The rooms are pretty nice and a fair size, always clean. Overall we had a good time and made the best of it but I will not return.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: nice resort

always great service plus section is in need of tlc rooms not vip had many problems with door for room 36104 called many times came to fix but still not working properly tried fixing 6 times major for person of disability. everything else ok. if price is right this resort is perfect for anybody j.p

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great resort

I like the Hotel everything is close by nice clean, rooms are clean people are friendly I have been there 3 times and I will go again! The only thing I did not like is the airline we went with I wish Cubana airlines go there the next time I go, love the place!

Playa Costa Verde: Happy to return for 12th time

The staff continue to be amazing. They have recently upholstered the furniture in the lobby which gives it a fresh look. The renovation on the bar area did not bother us at all. In fact saw little work being done (probably waiting on material, that's Cuba!) Food good, always something you can find even if you are a picky eater. Super entertainment, such talent! Rooms are getting a bit dated and beds are hard but very clean and spacious. Many people return to this resort because of how they are treated. Lots of kids there and family oriented. The area around the pool is a worn cobblestone with lots of little holes. They are replacing it gradually but I took a fall as my sandal caught a hole and so please be careful. Also not a bad idea to bring a flashlight as the paths are not well lite at night. It is a great resort and we will return always as the staff are like family.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Blau Costa Verde "Gotta Go with the Plus"

Situated in a beautiful and peaceful area, this is a beach resort which really feels part of its natural surroundings. Trees and tropical plants spill over onto the picturesque beach, sheltered by rocks, and from here you can enjoy views of a fishing village across the bay, and the mountains further inland. AC worked great and was welcomed relief after beach time. There was a large expanse of garden between the building and the beach margin, so not really a beach feel, but so quiet and waking up to sounds of surf and birds was the best. The grounds were exceptionally maintained and interiors immaculate. The food was very tasty and we enjoyed the 3 a la carte restaurants. Wait staff very professional and courteous. Cappuccinos and espressos were excellent, especially at the Lobby bar. Pools and beach great...service and staff efficient and friendly. The animation in the evening was very entertaining and professional, certainly not the normal level expected. Singers, dancers, musicians, magician were fantastic and we were fortunate to have incredible weather in the evenings. Having stayed in many 4 Star resorts in various parts Cuba I think The Blau Costa Verde was one the best and I cannot think of one negative experience as a guest in this beautiful resort. Much appreciation to the reception staff for fast and friendly check in and check out services and any assistance when needed. Definitely will be a place to return to.

Playa Costa Verde: Simple resort with complicated ways

We were surprised to see an open eating restaurant-buffet exposed to birds and all kinds of insects at the 4 star hotel! The access to the beach was unusual as well ,over the swamp,with one bridge ,no shower at the exit from the beach ,it was on the repair for the whole week. This hotel is good for enthusiastic walkers,long distances everywhere.

Sol Turquesa Beach: very satisfied

I visited this resort for several times and still we come back with a good feeling. Sometimes some minor defects but after consultation with the management still met to our satisfaction. A little longer transporting the airport (including time at customs and passport controle) and that I should comment whether it would be possible to provide a "passenger" some "refreshment" of water, because all the time from the arrival, the arrival to the resort is sometimes 3 and more hours.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Another wonderful trip!

Once again, another fabulous time at Memories. The stall was great as always and the resort was as beautiful as ever. The food is improving all the time and the choices are many and varied. Improvements were being made to the middle pool at the time of our vacation, and it was ready to open when we were leaving. They are constantly maintaining the grounds and facilities at this resort, so that guests can have the best possible vacation. Sol Turquesa Beach: Great Resort!!!!

This resort was absolutely beautiful, a hidden paradise. Rooms were spacious and very pretty. Service was outstanding and the food was good. I have no complaints and I will return year after year......

I have been to this resort 3 times and each time I enjoy it more The service is amazing and the staff is always available and no matter what is going on they have a smile and make your day Yamir operates the cigar bar and his knowledge and expertise about cigars is amazing The beach is fabulous It is a sight and experience you don't want to. Brisas Guardalavaca: Good resort - bad timing

I enjoyed my stay at Brisas Guadalavaca . Some great things: the Cuban people , the food, the churros , everything I needed was in walking distance. The wait staff and cooks did an excellent job and were very friendly at the buffet & ala carte restaurants, The not so good: the view from my room was air conditioning units on top of a roof ,there was a lot of construction noise while the first floors were being worked on, and the pool, was closed for repair during most of my holiday, the other  [... read more]pool by the villas had no shade and poor bar service. I spent most my time at the beach - it had shade and was less noisy than the pool area. The grounds of the hotel were well kept especially considering Hurricane Matthew had just gone through. A couple of things you may want to consider: have someone at the reception desk that actually understands English and can smile. Same goes for "customer service" - when I asked a question - I was told to go to the rep desk and check the book.- not so helpful... If the Air Canada rep is scheduled to be at the hotel from 11-12 - have him be there at 11. I did not appreciate waiting when I could have been enjoying my vacation instead.(although he did apologize for being so late) The lobby bar had only one lady that actually made an effort to serve drinks. The rest of the staff seemed more interested in the TV and made inconsistent drinks - usually we had to get out own drinks .

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Perfect!!!

I have stayed at this resort a few times as well as others in Cuba. This one is my preferred go to place. Beautiful rooms, great staff and always very clean. The extras (beer in room, Rum for return guests, sailing) are always appreciated too!

Brisas Guardalavaca: Amazing Resort

This was my 11th time at this resort, so I think that says it all. I feel that it is good value for the price, the grounds are spotless, you constantly are seeing the gardeners working to keep the public area tidy. Everyone is friendly from the cleaning staff, bartenders, waitresses, waiters, cooking staff entertainment staff right up to management. There are 6 a la carte restaurants, 2 buffets (during busy season) and several bars to suit your needs. I never lacked to find something deliciou [... read more]s to eat.There is also a 24 hour grill and bar. Two of the a la cartes are open for breakfast and lunch as well. Evening entertainment was also very good especially the water ballet show on Thursday evening. I was unfortunate to be there during the impending hurricane Matthew but was totally impressed with the way the staff worked tirelessly to safeguard the hotel and the guests. Brisas Guardalavaca: Nice place!!!!

I like everything about the hotel...not new but very clean rooms..service great...food on the bad side but maybe this year...(my friend told me before was better) ..Shows beautiful...Beach clean and not crowd..Come back..? .YES..!!!

Brisas Guardalavaca: Loved this resort!

We have been to Cuba quite often but this was our first time staying at Brisas Guardalavaca and it is now one of our favorite resorts. We stayed in a villa and it was lovely, very spacious and close to everything. The only issue was the TV did not work for 4 days out of 7. The beach was beautiful and every day we snorkeled off the beach to a most beautiful reef (about 100 meters from shore). The resort location is great - 20 minutes walk to the market and town - walking distance to a fis [... read more]herman's village (bring gifts for the children - they appreciate it so much). You can take a 'caleche' to the market and back for 5 pesos per couple and the driver waits for you while you shop or for 10 pesos per couple he will drive you around for 1 hour. The food was very good - had delicious stir-fried shrimps every day and lobster at a couple of a la carte restaurants at no extra charge. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The entertainment at this resort was the best! It started at 6:30 in the lobby and went on all evening. The music was beautiful and the entertainers so talented! You cannot get bored at this resort! Will be going back for sure!

Brisas Guardalavaca: Lovely resort

This resort has great staff and is clean and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful and the beach is well just magnificent. This resort isn't too big so the grounds are very easy to get around. The entertainment is great especially the water ballet. The food isn't bad but isn't as good as the authentic Cuban food that my family were very lucky to have tried. There is a nurse on the resort and the doctor is on the next resort over which is a 3 minute walk and they are great and friendly. [... read more] My family and myself had a great time and will be coming back to this resort in the future.
