Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great resort

Great hotel, needs some maintenance. Staff were awesome and rooms were cleaned. The food was good, but don't eat the fish I got food poison. The a la carte was good, but they need to make italian a la carte better ( not Italian).

Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: Dreams Macao Punta Cana

A lovey and clean resort with comfortable beds. Not all of the a la cart restaurants were available to us so we can not comment on this. Some of the servers could not understand English so some of our orders were wrong. Entertainment was the standard resort norm. All in all it was a pleasant and relaxing stay.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Great stay at Dream Onyx

The resort was overall great. Plenty of food options and activities to do. The only negative is the pool temperature was very cold. Some days we couldn't even swim because the water was too cold. There are plenty of pools at this resort but all of them were very cold.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Amazing Resort

My husband and I just came back from a fantastic 2 weeks at this resort. We of course, read plenty of reviews prior to our trip and were a bit nervous of our choice due to some of the complaints about food and unfriendly staff. We were very happy to find that these complaints were completely untrue. The re [... read more]staurant and bar staff are extremely friendly and courteous throughout the resort It is a big resort with immaculate grounds. From the lobby to the beach or the level rooms is just a nice 10 minute walk we enjoyed in the evening after eating so much! There is also golf cart and train rides running constantly to take you if you choose not to walk. The spa is stunning, very nice pools and beach and a good selection of ala cart dining options which offered 4* food. We only ate in the buffet one night (the night we arrived). The butler booked us in ala cart restaurants all the other nights which is fantastic. There are several good options for dinner. The level also has it's own restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. Steaks and shrimp for lunch...yes please! We should also mention the wonderful service in the level restaurant (Quimera). The wait staff are amazing! Special thanks to Miguel and Fredy, but all of them were fantastic. There is a wonderful rooftop bar on top of this restaurant which is great in the evenings with lovely views. (see night-time pic) The only downside to the resort we seen is the seaweed on the beach and in the water. There is a large amount in the water (obviously not the resorts fault) so we didn't feel comfortable to go in the water. On the beach itself they have a tractor and turf rake to try to clear the seaweed off the beach. However it was not utilized enough and the beach remained pretty dirty. Our room, as some have said otherwise, was not dated at all. It was decorated very well and have ample storage space. The mini bar is restocked daily and they even leave you snacks to enjoy. We very much enjoyed the Shaker bar in the evenings which is a specialty Marquita bar. The bartenders there (May Cedano, Estailyn Santos and Rafael Valdez) do an outstanding job, always trying to make your time there an enjoyable one. A special thank you to Rachel Guindon at Trip Central who went above and beyond to make this a fabulous holiday and 60th Birthday Celebration! Thank you! All in all a fabulous resort! The Level is a must. We will be back!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Family Resort

Beautiful hotel. The property is long and narrow so lots of walking to pools, restaurants and beach. Check in was fast and easy. Room was nice with a jacuzzi tub in the center and a swim-out off the deck. Be aware that there is no privacy in the room; a lattice board between beds and shower area. Bedding could use some updating. Beach is lovely although we did have a lot of seaweed for two days. Lots of lounge chairs but they are very close together. No issues with getting shaded areas. The spa is beautiful and excellent personalized service. Overall, a nice resort for families and friends.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Amazing resort

I’ve heard great things about this resort so I booked it by myself and loved it ! The entertainment and the entertainment staff was absolutely fantastic!!!!!! That’s the only complaint I had was some of the staff was rude in buffet areas ;( I give the resort a 4 and a half star ⭐️ Because they went above and beyond to entertain us and keep the place beautiful!!! Occidental Punta Cana: Beautiful resort

The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are large . This resort is very clean and the food is great. Unfortunately only made it to 3 a la cartes in our 10 day visit due to no availabilty. The steak house was very good and came out hot. Italian restaurant was good but my food was barely warm. The buffets were all very good.

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: Not a 5 star resort

The pools were not good the restaurants were terrible and we couldn't get a reservation at all to go to the a la carte restaurants and the staff was rude and did not care to help at all. Out air transat rep asked us if we had any issues to reach out to him which we did multiple times and he did nothing and never even responded to our issues. Worst trip we have ever had.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Not so great

I won’t be going back to royalton splash. We initially booked because it was advertised on royalton splash website that we do have access to some of the restaurants at royalton punta cana (jade, Grazzie) we travelled with my 4 year old son so this sounded great especially for lunch time that we have access to Grazzie to eat when going at the beach. Unfortunately, we got turned around by staff telling us that we aren’t allowed to eat there and that we need to go all the way back to Splash to  [... read more]eat. I wrote to the royalton info e-mail to ask why this is advertised on their website that we have access to eat at these royalton punta cana restaurants and till this day no one ever answered me. We would wait for the shelter bus to come pick us up sometimes even 45 minute to 1H to go from royalton punta cana to splash or vice versa which most of the time it would never come. That also it was advertised that it passes by every 10-15 minutes which is so untrue. We did not bring a stroller for this matter and ended up having to waste our time walking back and forth from a resort to another with a toddler that we had to carry in our arms. The few times we had taken the shuttler we had to almost fight to get a place on it because of the amount of people that were rushing towards it. We had a day that we stayed at the pool at royalton splash and one of the tourist apparently got sick and vomit in the pool which the staff had to close the pool for the rest of the day and sent us all at the bubble pool. Again, we are with a kid we had to pack all our stuff go to the bubble pool and when arriving there we basically had no chairs nor space where to sit because it was overcrowded and the staff did not added more chairs or made more space keep in mind the that bubble pool is only used for diamond club upgrade.This happened at around 2 pm. I understand that this out of the control of the hotel and staff when situations like this happens however this should have been way better managed by staff especially knowing that the hotel was most likely at full capacity all using one pool that day. We ended up having to go back in the rooms and not be able to enjoy our day because we had to space at the pool. Knowing that splash hotel is mostly for family and kids I would have thought that they would have some diversity food especially food that kids enjoy at the buffet or restaurants. Fries, chicken nuggets etc. The selection buffet always had the same food and little food for kids. I had to order room service every night for my son to be able to eat something he likes besides bread. On our last 3 days we decided to upgrade to royalton punta cana we only were able to upgrade our bracelets and not get rooms there. The main reason we wanted to upgrade was to be able to get more variety of food and be able to eat at Grazzie while at the beach instead of coming back at splash. To our surprise we went to grazzie and it was closed and only people from hideaway were able to eat there so upgrading made zero difference to us at this point and wasted money which we thought we would get more convinces from it but did not. Furthermore, we were told that we would be able to enjoy the pools at royalton punta cana when we upgrade our bracelets to our surprise the pools at punta cana royalton had people from splash bracelets with no one telling them that they cannot stay at the pools at royalton punta cana. Again, we respected the policies throughout the week paid more money to get access to more to only find out that it’s a free for all and we basically wasted money for absolutely nothing just because we respected the resorts policies. On our last day while waiting for the bus to come and pick us up to go to the airport I went to ask at the lobby bar for some water for my toddler to drink. Thankfully I smelled the water before given to him to drink the water smelled like chlorine I went back to the bar and told the waiter there that the water did not smell right only for him to taste it from the big bottle where he pour the water from to tell us that we are right the water is no good….at that point I wasn’t even surprised nor impressed anymore. I went 7 times to punta cana, it was my favorite destination to go to. Twice of them was at royalton CHIC in the last 6 years. I never made a complaint because I never had to but this trip was just not worth the money. If I would have known that royalton got this bad I would have chooses another resort worth the $ 1.6k that I paid to get the service we paid for while not forgetting that we actually paid even more to upgrade at royalton punta cana. Furthermore, the mini bar was never restocked. We missed toilet paper in the bedroom because it was never restocked. We missed shampoo also.we called reception for shampoo no one ever came. We called reception for someone to come and help us with the luggages from the second floor to be brought to the lobby no one ever showed up we had to carry 4 luggages down the stairs to the lobby. The hotel is poorly managed which is unfortunate for the price that costumer pays to go there. I will not be going to any royalton anymore nor recommend it to anyone including CHIC as I am not sure that today they provide the same services that was provided a couple of years ago when I went back twice to CHIC. As far for the royalton chain they should have all the same level of service in order to have costumer recommend this chain to someone else. Unfortunately, I am in distrust with this chain after my experience to royalton splash and punta cana.

Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: Great place for couples with young children

We enjoyed a week's holiday at Dreams Macao -- three generations -- with 2 young children. The staff were so friendly, helpful, and cheerful especially with the children. The property is lovely and was just the right size for our needs. We had fun on the waterslides and lazy river, lounged by the pools that are designed for young people with shallow areas, and were delighted with the gorgeous view of the beach and its easy access from the resort. The surf was powerful but we were able to enj [... read more]oy body surfing. The ocean was too rough for the young ones except to walk along the sand and get their feet wet but still the beach was a very desirable place to be.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Terrible Resort

We did not stay at the Dreams Royal, we were at Dreams Palm Beach, Punta Cana. This resort fooled us into thinking we were "Preferred Club" when actually everyone was at the same level. The resort itself as far as the grounds go was nice. But the rooms were very dated. This resort is not wheelchair friendly. To call a resort wheelchair friendly one must be in a wheelchair. Your staff needs to be more aware of this. We feel very deceived, by Trip Central. My husband chair which is a small chai [... read more]r would hardly fit the door to our room. The coffee maker did not work in our room first morning, so called room service but they do not serve coffee. I was told to go to CoCo Cafe to get our own coffee. So much for "Preferred Club". 2 of the restaurants were on the second floor. There is no access to the beach, if you are in a wheelchair. The maids did a great job cleaning the rooms, and the resort in general. We did like the food for the most part. The employees worked hard to please everyone. Had to get the door to our room fixed to get the door open as wide as it would go. Also had to have the toilet fixed twice. There are no grab bars in the shower, we had to bring a plastic table from outside for him to sit on in the shower. We had never stayed at a Dreams Resort, so we thought this was going to be so special, but we were very very disappointed. (What a big lie) I will book from now on directly with the airline, because I have been disappointed beyond what I could have imagined. We spoke to many people there that were in wheelchairs, they had all the same complaints. If there was a ramp to a restaurant or bar there was no way to get through the big heavy glass doors. This resort is only good for people that can walk on their own. We feel tricked, deceived, fooled! We travel quite a bit, so we are not new to this sort of travel. I do not blame Susan Snider for this, as she can only tell customers what the resort tells her. We'll the resort lied. Also it is common knowledge on the resort that the resort is closing and being sold as of the end of the year. We heard it was being torn down. Sorry to be so harsh, but our reality was harsh.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Was not DREAMING for Cuban style food

I will start with positive. The staff are amazing. The staff is the only thing that makes this resort good. Especially entertainment team JEAN LUIS and MR WONDERFUL. I don’t understand how this resort has good reviews for food. We have been to so many resorts and dreams royal beach punta cana is 3 star not 5. I was in disbelief when we arrived the first evening and saw/tasted how terrible the food selection was. I was really hoping it was a 1 night off thing. I was not expecting “Cuban style selection” the lack of variety and taste was disappointing. Especially at breakfast and lunch! Very repetitive every day and lacked selection. Dinner was slightly better since we got to choose from restaurants. But we ended up with undercooked chicken that unfortunately I didn’t see because the sea side restaurant had very dark lighting, which resulted in food poisoning. If you are looking for good food do not book this resort. If you are ok with “Cuban style selection” I would highly recommend coming here Lastly we did not know we were “preferred club” until the last 3 days of our stay. There is absolutely no difference for preferred club and regular guests.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Amazing resort!

If you are looking for a quiet peaceful vacation to recharge this is the resort for you. The food and beach was amazing. The main buffet was the best! Great variety and delicious meals. I’d definitely recommend the one bedroom suite over the rooftop suite. The coffeehouse was great with so many desserts and varieties of coffee, milkshakes and teas. Ask for Pablo the butler if you book the mirage club as he was fantastic.

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Not A True Adults Only Resort

Hideaway is exactly as it is titled, a small enclave in a family resort. You have 1 restaurant and small beach area that is adult only otherwise you are sharing the resort with families with children. All restaurants, shows and common areas are shared with families. If you are going on a holiday to share your space with all adults, this is not the resort for you. Adults have a small pool that is not big enough to accommodate the people in the adults only section. Redeeming quality of this resort [... read more] are the workers. They are fabulous and work very hard.

Whala Bavaro: Disappointing stay

Quite disappointing for a 4 star resort. We like smaller resorts because we enjoy getting to know the people who work there. Although I have some ability to speak Spanish, this was not possible because we did not meet any staff that could speak English. The food was not what we expected. We found the selection limited and many of the choices were stewed meats and vegetables. There was also a foul smell emanating from the toilets near the pool at the center of the resort and bar. On the [... read more] positive side, we enjoyed our room. It was comfortable and maintained quite well. The location also allowed us to get a glimpse of life in the Dominican Republic.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing Resort

This resort was amazing the pool the beach the rooms the food I can’t say enough good things about this resort the only thing is there is a lot of walking because there are another five resorts that you can go on and look and it is huge thank God for the shuttle buses so just beware there is a lot of walking which I loved

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Good Hotel, but they do not manage the beach

Hotel is renovated, public bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. Food is reasonably good, we were satisfied. First 4 days Sargassum was unbelievable, not only in the water but on the beach also. They used Stone Age technology-workers putting grass into bags and bringing them to the point where they were taking them with pickup truck. For 4 days we could not even get to the water. They were not able to clear 1 meter passage to the water. That was scary. Hotels on either side of this one h [... read more]ad beaches much better maintained using proper equipment. The worse is the hotel was silent about that and that was scary, we did not know what to expect. After 4 days they brought truck to remove the grass and after that they succeeded to maintain the low level of the sargassum on the beach. Bedrooms could be cleaned better, balcony and bathroom floor were not wipped for days although they cleaned the room every day. Sometimes we had to wait for the end of the day to get towels in the room. Entertainment is on lower side. I do not think that we will go there again.

Riu Palace Macao: Great Resort !!

This is my 5th time at this resort and really enjoy everything about it. The only thing is the air conditioning is terrible everytime i go. I always go to the front desk and they send somebody up to try and fix it and no results. Other then tgat the pool is great , staff is on top of things and i always enjoy the food. The grounds are well kept. I know there doing renivations in the new year and will looking forward to my next visit to tge Riu Macoa.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Good resort - small beach, AMAZING STAFF

Overall, a really great resort. Be careful however, bring lots of extra cash. The guys on the beach really try to scam you, so be careful. Restaurants are decent.. But staff was truly incredible! The beach is fairly small and there was some seaweed but they were diligent with scooping it up the following day. Pools were amazing!! As i said previously, the staff truly make the experience worthwhile.

This hotel is amazing it's my six time there and it's only gotten better .The food was so fresh and the choices were plentiful .The people are super friendly and if you can speak Spanish it's a big help.covid restrictions were not appicapple almost invisible .A few people on plane wore masls but not many .Almost seemed like regular days .a fantastic trip and I would highly recommend this hotel .
