Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Fabulous Resort!

Excellent Lobby and Main Bar! Huge area to dance or mingle. Staff was absolutely the best. Very friendly and welcoming. The nightly entertainment was the best I've seen in Cuba so far! Great dancers! Unfortunately the chairs in the Theatre were very uncomfortable and cold so we had to take a pillow from our room to be able to sit. Once we figured that out, it was comfortable. Food was good and plenty. Excellent cheeses! The food prep area and serving plates could use a bit higher grade of clean [... read more]liness but overall was acceptable. The hotel room was a bit musty but, being after a major huricane, it is also understandable. Overall, it was a great holiday!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Beautiful resort, wonderful people

Had a great trip second time at the resort, rooms beautiful and clean, 6 swimming pools, restaurants and buffet good. A very friendly atmosphere. And a beautiful beach. Good shows. Many activities on our resort

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Beautiful resort, terrible food.

The resort was beautiful. Rooms were clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. But the food wasn’t awful. This is not much first time to Cuba before, not even my second. I’m not a picky eater but the food on their resort was bad. The only good food was the all la carte Japanese restaurant which was fantastic and fun. I was severely let down by the Cuban a la carte as I usually enjoy that food the most when on resorts. There was also not enough shady areas available. The beach was grea [... read more]t though. Beautiful sand and blue water. And going into town was easy and safe. I highly recommend the Beatles bar in varadero. It was amazing.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Wonderful Resort!

We had a great time at the Iberostar, great food, great service. All the staff were so friendly! We would definitely go back! One of the best things about staying at this hotel is the beach, long walks on the sand! Wonderful!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Great Time !

Resort & rooms very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bartenders amazing .. loved Victor at the pool bar... Beach was ok .. windy .. lots of seaweed. Never a problem finding chairs at beach or the pool ... which was amazing . Disappointed in the A-la-Carte restaurants .. food was good but the presentation not as good as our last year visit to the Iberostar in Puerto Plata DR. and felt as if we were being rushed. Requested a room overlooking the pool .. which we got, but didn't realiz [... read more]e you couldn't see it for the "jungle view" .. it wasn't bad ... just not noted you wouldn't be able to see the pool. We stayed in block 13 ... long walk up to lobby if you didn't use the golf cart shuttles .. would request block 15 or 16 next time. Overall great place .. would go back again.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Absolutely LOVED this place!!!

Beautiful grounds, excellent staff, and terrific food! This place totally exceeded our expectations! Room: We had a room by the pool area which couldn't have been better. Rooms are small, very basic, not all that sound proof, but nice and clean (great porch). Food: We ate at two of the specialty restaurants (Mexican & Steakhouse) - highly recommend both. And whenever we ate at the buffet restaurant we always found a nice variety of delicious food. Staff: The best! Iberostar Waves Tucan: Amazing resort

We arrived in the darkness so was hard to get a first impression. Staff at the check in desk were very friendly and professional.Baggage was taken to our quickly so we could change and get a late dinner. Food in all restaurants was very good with many choices. My favourite was the Japanese restaurant where the chef cooked at your table and put on quite a show. Activity staff were excellent in getting guests to participate and have fun. Rooms were lovely and cleaning staff very attentive to thei [... read more]r jobs. Grounds were immaculate and very creative with a jungle setting and natural caves and waterfalls. Spa was very good and hot tub amazing. We walked to local shopping for souvenirs. I celebrated a Birthday while there and they helped me acknowledge it with champagne!!

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Great Resort

Great resort with amazing staff that went above and beyond. Frankie, one of the entertainment staff, was amazing. He was funny and made an effort to connect with everyone young and old. He did a fantastic job at making our stay that much better.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Medium quality resort

The lobby and esplanade and the beach were OK. The daily theater performances were pretty good... The food at the buffet was medium quality.. quantity was always adequate. The a la carte restaurants were pretty good and with good service. The bar service was pretty decent.. BUT.. The pool didn't have a deep end, the Spa/jacuzzi was out of operation, many of the room balcony sliding doors wouldn't lock up, the room safe was not chained down, lots of smokers in the outdoor sitting area, the la [... read more]ndscaping was rather sad...

hotel was in good shape, clean, great staff, quick check in... Only disappointment was the 7 hour delay from sun wing coming home.. weather was average but that can be expected in January... Good trip

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great place

We had a really great time. We found the rooms very clean. The food was good. The atmosphere accommodated everyone. You could be quite and relax, or have a really fun time. Really accommodating staff. We will go back.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites: Fantastic Vacation

Hotel was fantastic! Front Lobby was impressive and check-in was fast allowing for almost a full first day to get to know the resort. Lobby bar was a great meeting place before activities and the bartenders always cheerful and helpful. Coffee martini's were fantastic. Our room was quite spacious and clean. Housekeeping was very good. The bathroom was beautiful stone/marble with double sinks. Food was very good. Mexican restaurant was delicious. Service at each a la carte was very good.  [... read more] Pools were gorgeous and very clean and very maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the resort. Golf course was very scenic and very well maintained. Staff cleaned our clubs better than they've been since new. The drink cart came around at just the right time. Wi-Fi was fast and everywhere you wanted it to be.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Good and bad

Resort was beautiful and to our expectations; however we did not have hot water for 3 days. We did get upgraded to another room but it didn’t change the fact that we got the run around for 3 days saying hot water would be available “tomorrow”. Only to find out that the hotel had burst pipe.

Grand Memories Cayo Largo: Another great visit to Cayo Largo

This was our fifth visit to Cayo Largo, our previous stays were at the Villa Marinera which is partnered with the Playa Blanca but the Marinera was closed this year so we stayed at the Villa Bellarena which is also part of the Playa Blanca. This section was formerly reserved for Italian guests but was opened up to other tourists this year. The cabins are great, we got one with an ocean front view and loved it. The weather didn't co-operate for beach going, there was a strong wind for the enti [... read more]re week we stayed there and that greatly reduced the amount of beach available because of the waves coming in - but at least the sun was shining the whole time and the temperatures were great. We didn't go to any of the other beaches, we were content to spend our time at the beach just down from the main bungalows on the resort. Most of the guests at the hotel took the shuttles to the other beaches so it was very quiet and that suited us just fine. Rudolpho at the beach has become a great friend and he was always there to get out a couple of chairs at our favourite spot. The beach is clothing optional so you need to be prepared for that but the nudists are respectful and its a great opportunity to experience that pleasure if you feel so inclined. Some of the meals we had were excellent, some were borderline but there was always something to eat. The Bellarena specializes in pasta meals, some of the a la carte meals at the other restaurants were great but the buffet was hit and miss. The evening shows were entertaining but sometimes they were a bit over produced. The productions aren't geared towards clients dancing much so that's disappointing. The solar hot water system on our cabin had a leak so it never got hot and the last two days there was no hot water but the cold water isn't that cold so we never missed a shower but were shorter than we might have liked. Sometimes water at the main buildings didn't seem to be working so the toilets didn't always flush. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. It was great to be treated like family when we bumped into staff who we'd met over the years. There were a number of visitors who started out being disappointed at the beginning of their visit, but over the week they were there just about all succumbed to the charm of the place. Once you begin to appreciate what the place really has to offer its easy to overlook the negative stuff. A few things that should be changed... the Bellarena cabins don't have dressers, no place to put belongings other than a few clothes hung in a closet so you have to leave most of your belongings in your suitcase. The entertainer at the Bellarena wasn't very good and that's being kind. Most of the guests would gladly have paid to stop his singing and plug in an i-pod from the visitors into the sound system. Information you are given often isn't accurate - wrong times, wrong location, canceled events, that kind of thing. It would be nice if they upgraded some of the entertainment/activity options. The pool table was non-functional, ping pong facility wasn't in great shape, the exercise room could do with some freshening up. Its Cuba, it would be nice if they offered more opportunities to dance. Transportation options didn't seem to be as flexible as in the past, it seems the number of taxis on the island has been reduced. Apparently there is only one rental car available for the entire island though there seems to be enough scooters to go around and there are 4 wheel ATVs available. If something goes wrong in your room, its unlikely it will get fixed while you're there but in most cases they will change your room to one that works. We were told our hot water would be fixed three times but it didn't happen over the last two days we were there. We extended out book out time to 5 pm for $45 pesos but the key didn't work when we tried to get our luggage out and have a last shower, which still didn't have hot water. All of the main pools had water in them while we were there but some of the hot tubs scattered around the resort were non-functional. There was a hot tub near our cabin, but it wasn't working. We certainly enjoyed our stay and plan to go back again next year. We've been to a lot of resorts in Cuba but this is the one we keep coming back to.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Fantastic resort

We were really pleased with everything about this resort. The rooms were great and kept spotless by the housekeeping staff and the fridge was replenished daily. The beach was amazing and there were always plenty of chairs available. The food was great with plenty of selection. Can't imagine anyone complaining about the food. The pool was huge and kept spotless. There was never a dull moment with the entertainment staff. All of the staff were polite and willing to help. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Resort

We found the resort very clean and welcoming. Staff were friendly. We enjoyed the Buffets and the al la cartes. We did not have an issue finding a chair to be around the pool. The beach seemed not to be as popular and was cooler when we were there in February.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Excellent value for money!

People are amazing without any questions they are always there to help you. The service everywhere is perfect. Beach was the nicest I have ever seen. The lobby was a fun place to be in the evenings. The food is fairly good. The grounds are well maintained with lots of beautiful flowering plants.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Nice Resort!

We enjoyed our vacation at the Iberostar Cozumel. The grounds are beautiful. Very lush tropical feeling. It’s a very low key resort we found. Rooms are small but sufficient, and very clean! Our room had been renovated with a very nice bathroom. Food is decent. All employees wonderful and friendly. One thing to consider at this resort is you cannot easily access entering the water directly from the beach. It is very rocky. Overall we enjoyed our time at this resort.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Wonderful time

Had a great vacation at Iberostar. The hotel is beautiful and well kept. All the people who work there are very friendly. The buffet was good and all 3 a la cart's were very good. The room was very clean and well supplied.
