Riu Merengue: Big Resort
This resort was big therefor a lot of walking. It has beautiful grounds and well maintained. The rooms were good and clean.Touched a gecko first morning on the curtains, rather unexpected ha! ha! Food was really good and plentiful, although the buffet was quite a walk from our room. Staff were fabulous and friendly. We love to snorkel however the ocean was to murky ,it rained every day. Lots of beach chairs every where which was a plus. The shows were ok mostly audience based.
Riu Negril: Execellent Resort
The resort overall was excellent . The staff were all very very friendly . The room was great ,clean and comfortable . The beaches were very good .The swimming area a little limited .due to a past corral reef and sea grass ..The grounds were clean and pretty but somewhat limited in size The food was excellent quality On the down side there were not enough public restrooms on the grounds (3 for the whole resort|) The second seating dinner service was not acceptable . If you were not in lin [... read more]
Riu Republica: Average Riu resort
We just stayed at the Riu Republica in Punta Cana. The rooms were clean, no bugs at all. The beach was nice, you could walk for miles down the beach if you so desired, the ocean was rough which made it fun to play in the waves (if you are a good swimmer). The food was very average, the buffet was decent, nothing special about the specialty restaurants.
Riu Palace Paradise Island: Paradise
The resort is very clean and beautiful. The pool area is amazing, lots of activities like yoga, aqua fitness, beech volleyball. The buffett is awesome. The quality and variety is great. 2 of the 4 a la carte restaurants are ok. The staff is very friendly. The beach is beautiful top notch. The jerk chicken is to die for.
Riu Republica: Nice Option on Bavaro Beach
The Riu Repúblic was a well maintained property with easy access to many pools/slides and Bavaro Beach. The rooms were clean and insect free. Hot water for showers was always there. Restaurants were decent and a nice change to the buffet that was adequate but lacked some citrus fruits (0ranges & Grapefruit) as well as real OJ. The Jerk Chicken bar located on the way to the beach was a nice option for lunch. The beach waters were rough but the waves added some fun in the sun. Long walks were n [... read more]
Riu Palace Paradise Island: Amazing resort
Love the pool, room and staffs are very polite and friendly. I recombined this hotel to all my friends. Rooms are very clean. I let bed my room which was ocean and pool view. People who were there as a guest were high class people. I didn’t sea any low class there.
Riu Guanacaste: Awesome!!
The hotel was beautiful! The grounds were well manicured and kept clean and beautiful to look at. The staff were so friendly, always smiling and eager to help you out! The rooms were large and clean. We loved the outdoor hallways and layout of this hotel! The food was very good! We definitely recommend this place!
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: A week in Paradise
All the grounds, rooms and public areas are clean and well-maintained. Rooms are spacious, but the bed is hard enough to cause discomfort. Although the selection at the buffet was good, we only found it to be just okay and in fact found the meat consistently overcooked. Entertainment - the big shows were hokey, repetitive, and downright annoying. We love live music, and the best came by way of the duo that performed before the shows. All in all, we would rate the evenings only 5. [... read more]
Riu Guanacaste: What a place to be at "WOW"
If you wanna see the howler monkeys, zipline good times with great people great food. Wonderful staff.what a wonderful place to be. Did not wanna come home. Don't forget your SUNBLOCK you'll need it. ENJOY
Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Beautiful resort!
Beautiful resort in large sheltered bay. Great swimming as water is calm and clear. excellent walking beach; vendors at far end. Hotel is beautiful, per Riu standards. Bathroom tub needed new caulking and one bathroom sink cracked. No hot food 24/7 (only fruit and popcorn). For these reasons can only give this resort 4.5 stars out of 5. Food is superior (hats off to the chefs!) and staff are helpful and courteous. Beach is lovely with shade available. Would definitely return.
Riu Reggae: Excellent staff.....
Being a fairly new resort the rooms, grounds and facilities were clean and well maintained. Cleaning staff did a very good job. The food was equal to that which can be found at most good resorts with a good variety of choices - jerk chicken hut was my go-to.....delicious!! Kudos to Kevin! Entertainment staff were excellent - lots of fun and hilarity. Beach was clean and although rather small it never felt crowded. No hint of any issues outside the resort which was a concern considering we booked [... read more]
Riu Santa Fe: Crazy Adventure
Everything about the resort and the whole trip was fantastic!! Maybe some fruit juices instead of soda in the fridge One little mishap with one of the activities we booked but the agent was accommodating to us and booked another activity for later on in the day. All in all I would give the resort the trip together a solid 8 out of 10.
Riu Palace Paradise Island: amazing resort
This hotel just did 3 million dollar renovations and it was absolutely beautiful, Rooms were nice, loved the large shower and shower head....very clean resort, staff constantly cleaning. The food was great (nice selection) along with the other restaurants that were offered. Infinity pool was nice overlooking the beach and ocean. Capuchino bar was nice, we used it often, couple times a day. Towels were soft which is unusual, they are usually stiff and hard. Staff were very friendly, courteou [... read more]
Riu Republica: Good Resort - A few minor adjustments needed
Beautiful resort inside and out. A lot of outdoor areas to relax and enjoy. The rooms are nice and clean. They just need to make some adjustments. Most of the staff that work in the front line service areas ( dining rooms, pool areas) spoke very little to no English at all, very hard to communicate. The resort should look at designated smoking areas as we have seen at other Riu's. Sitting in the buffet area and having dinner with someone smoking three rows over. A lot of guests were smoking in t [... read more]
Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great resort completely reonavted
We have stayed 3 times and going back to the place completely renovated was great, 2 pools, new rooms with re done bathrooms, food was good even before but now more selection. The staff is friendly the new jerk chicken place outside the pool area is awesome.
Riu Palace Paradise Island: Perfect location!!
The Riu has made such great updates since the last time we went there! The infinity pool with the swim up bar was definitely the best addition. We arrived at 11am and were checked in and provided our room within 5 minutes of arrival. Very friendly staff! The location next to the Atlantis is such an added bonus!!!
Riu Santa Fe: 3rd Visit.... was ok
UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!! WAS NOT WARNED BEFORE HAND.....LOUD ALL NIGHT HEAVY EQUIPMENT. Youre not sleeping in here at all! 1st visit 9/10 2nd visit 8/10 3rd visit 7/10 with 2/10 sleep quality Food was the same everyday.....:( Years past had lots more of variety. :) BEDS SUCKED!!!!!!!!!
Riu Ocho Rios: Amazing!!
We had a wonderful time at the Riu! The hotel was very well maintained and always spotless. The food was great and always a great variety. The beach was very nice and the water was a beautiful shade of torquise. Staff was amazing, always helpful and personable. Definitely will return to this lovely resort.
Riu Ocho Rios: beautiful resort
The beach, and the pools were beautiful! The food was delicious! My main complaint is the musty smell in the rooms, and our shower water was either ice cold or scalding hot....no in between. It took three phone calls to have issue fixed. Over all such a pretty resort, very relaxing with a great variety of food!
Riu Santa Fe: Awesome Resort!
I love everything about this resort! The rooms are beautiful, the grounds are beautifully kept, the pools are clean and warm to swim in since you can't swim in the ocean due to the super strong undertow. The beach is also gorgeous. The arrangement and style of the buildings really give you a feeling of being in Mexico and not just a hotel that could be anywhere in the world. The food is amazing. I could go on and on.... I also have to mention the staff - they are wonderful, friendly and over [... read more]
