Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing Resort

My husband and I just returned from a 9 night stay at this resort to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We were greeted with a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates. We enjoyed the interactions with the friendly staff. The food was amazing. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. This resort is awesome and I would highly recommend it. We have been to many others but this one is certainly at the top of our list.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Fantastic resort!

Stayed Jan 16-23rd 2019. Travelled as a couple with another couple. Don't have anything bad to say about the resort. Rooms were big and clean. Food at the buffets and at the a la cartes were great. Service and drinks at all the bars and pools was excellent. Didn't spend much time at the beach as I found it a bit too busy for me, but the beach itself looked great. Would go back to this resort again! Didn't do any of the excursions as we were enjoying the resort so much.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful place, but a little dated....

The grounds are gorgeous, well kept and everything was very clean. We found the rooms and the overall design of the resort very dated (not modern or updated). In our opinion in dire need for a renovation to bring it up to today's standards, having said that the place was kept clean and the rooms were cleaned every day - no special treatments i.e. designs with towels on beds, no flower petals (only mention this because we have been used to seeing this in other resorts). We found the customer services very lacking....primarily because they seemed very short staffed everywhere, the bars, the buffets the lobby reception and busboys. I think this affected the morale of the staff in general, not many smiling faces and/or motivated to please, when asked to bring something to the table, it took them a long time to bring it and/or forgot altogether; they also seemed to be working every day for 12 hours.... it was very surprising that the hotel does not have free Wi-Fi across the whole resort; only in the main lobby and even then, extremely slow to pick up. to have it in the rooms it was very expensive. In my view very lacking in technology as well.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Amazing Resort

Very clean rooms, fantastic friendly staff and service. Great activities for kids! Definitely would recommend this resort and would go back again. The only thing I would recommend is that you make sure to have smaller denominations in money as know one seems to have change.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: AMAZING RESORT

RETURNED HOME AFTER A WEEK. WE HAVE TRAVELLED QUITE A BIT AND HAD NEVER COME AWAY WITH SUCH A PLEASURABLE EXPERIENCE. EXTREMELY CLEAN AND UP TO DATE RESORT WITH ALL THE AMENITIES YOU WOULD EXPECT. THE GROUNDS ARE IMMACULATE. FOOD FAB!! DEFINITELY A 5 STAR. WOULD CERTAINLY RETURN AND RECOMMEND!!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Beautiful Resort and beaches, fantastic trip!!

The Resort Bahia Principe El Portillo in Samana, Dominican Republic was fantastic. Absolutely no complaints with the facilities or the food .... and the beaches were very impressive! The staff were all very friendly and work very hard! This is our second time at a Bahia Resort and they have high standards which is noticeable. Thank you Laura Mulvihill Spry from Trip Central for another amazing experience! You know your stuff and nailed it once again for us!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Beautiful....but

Resort is beautiful and nicely landscaped. Beds are hard & uncomfortable. Pools were closed every other day for cleaning due to accidents happening in the pool. Food was decent but very hard to book A la cartes unless it’s done immediately after arrival. Kids club was very boring and lacked any real entertainment/toys. Shows were obnoxiously loud, especially their 10pm Castle light show which sounded more like horror movie music than kid friendly music. Beach was impeccably clean and lots of  [... read more]chairs. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Very nice resort

Great pools, awesome buffet and a la carte. Resort grounds very well kept and clean. Staff always very friendly. Nightly entertainments and daily activities are plentiful. If you prefer to just relax, then there are many ways to do this as well. Lots of interesting excursions available if you want a change of scenery. Highly recommended and would definitely return.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: No regrets.

My friend and I had a great time. The food was excellent. Entertainment was great. Service was excellent. Weather was beautiful. Room was good. Price was amazing. Paid 750$ for 7 nights, airfare, and food. Few tips: although my friend and I did not have bed bugs a few people we met did. Don't let this deter you from going. All you need to do is check your bed in between the creases. If you see some then request another room. Try to book al acarte before you get there to ensure there are openi [... read more]ngs. You should be able to do this on there website or app. The Japanese and Mediterranean were excellent! Kayaking is free for one hour each day. Goat cheese with omelette is amazing for breakfast! Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Awesome Get Away

This was our second visit to Sian Kaan because we were very impressed the first time we visited. The resort is placed away from the craziness of the other Bhai resorts but close enough to sample all of the restaurants ( which are amazing) and of course the beach. The shuttle service is always running and its very simple to get around. Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Lovely Spot

Rating 1- 10 (high) The hotel, - 8 Cleanliness - 10 Check in ...too long, - 7 staff, - 9 beach and water, - 10 grounds were lovely and so clean. - 9 Food was good, - 7 restaurants even better but we could not get reservations at all of them. - 8 We did request a king bed but got 2 doubles! 😆😕 not good! - 5 We requested a lock off room for easy babysitting with the grandchildren and only got it after much nagging. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Most disappointing and upsetting holiday,

Although the grounds and setting of the Bahia Principe Esmeralda is beautifully maintained , it is defiantly not a 5 Star Resort. Management has major attitude issues, shows no respect or consideration to their guests , they lie , ignore and are abusive . In all my many travels , I have never had such upsetting experiences as I had during my 10 day stay at this resort. Management and Guest Services are very much aware of what happened I would never recommend this resort . .

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Loved it!

Great food, mostly awesome staff, plenty to do (provided you're ok with a shuttle to the beach or the night club). I would absolutely go here again! Live entertainment happen Ed every night with the animation staff being interactive and fun! Hotel was very clean and the grounds were beautiful!!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great vacation!

We've just came back home from Grand bahia principe Coba (Jan 11-18, 2019). We are a family of four : 2 adults + 2 kids ( 6 and 8 y.o.). The whole family loved the hotel and will definitely come back again ( though I'm the person who prefers not to go to the same hotel twice). The hotel is huge. It's so large that you have to take the shuttles ( trains/electro cars) to get to the spot you need. All of us were so much entertained with this rides that we really loved doing that. We resided at Gr [... read more]and Bahia principe Coba but we were allowed to use all of the facilities of Grand Bahia principe Tulum as well. And vice versa, the residents of GBP Tulum attended any of Coba's restaurants,  bars, night shows, kids water park etc. So it actually means that when booking a trip to GBP Coba you get the better option having access to another big neighboring hotel and its facilities. The hotel grounds are gorgeous! Everything is blossoming and tidy. Lots of animals ( iguanas,  capybaras, raccoons, birds). The staff of the hotel is very helpful and friendly.  Everything is so perfectly organized ( events, or cleaning, or repairs, or gardening). You just see the result! The main buffet in GBP Coba is excellent! Such a great variety of meat, vegies,  condiments,  seafood! There is always something for your taste! The advantage of GBP Coba is its aquazone for kids. So most of the tourists with kids are concentrated there. Personally we preferred to go to the GBP Tulum as it had the beach area. Big pools everywhere,  but like I said we went to the sea. The beach is not the best one, but provided with lounge chairs, shade, bar and they constantly clean it from the weeds. So you can always find a spot for you there. The water is clear, the bottom is with stones in places, but there are also clean sandy areas and I had no problems stepping in. I attended a balloon party in Hacienda and then went to a disco there. Hacienda is the area (close to GBP Tulum lobby) with all of the souvenir shops,  disco, bars, casino, doctors office, pharmacy. The night shows were good. The kids mini disco was average. We resided in block 24 B. Our room #32422 (2nd floor) was good, always cleaned ( pics attached), everything was in a working condition, but I think it was always too humid in it. All of my clothes are wet by touch and my hair was always curly when I was in a room. The overall experience was great! It's one of the best trips ever ( I travel a lot). Will definitely recommend this hotel and will come back again if I have this option.

The hotel staff were thee best. So welcoming!! Thank you for making our stay so memorable!! The resort was immaculate. The drinks were always served with a smile. The weather couldn’t have been better.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great updates and renovations

We stayed here 4 years ago and it has recently been renovated and updated in this adults only Ambar section. The rooms are huge and clean and fresh. New glass showers, separate WC and new countertops. Nice new mini bar fridges and coffee makers. The AC works well and our room has nice balcony. If you book ground floor you get a swimup pool. The beach and pool are gorgeous. There are several new a la carte restaurants and we loved M.E.A.T.. great food, cocktails and decor including an option to d [... read more]ine outside. The grounds everywhere are beautifully landscaped and immaculate. Everything gets scrubbed down and cleaned every night. This is really 7 resorts in one site so it’s huge. There’s a new Sports Bar with pool tables. Tons of activities everywhere including a small casino. Our room unbeknownst to us included a butler and he was wonderful. Buildings 60 and 61 are closest to the beach and pool. We loved walking but there are frequent trains that take you anywhere you want to go. Buffet ihas a good variety and you have to go with realistic expectations as this is the Dominican Republic. Service at buffet can be slow and you may need to ask repeatedly for coffee, tea etc. Their house wines could use some improvement. Staff are friendly and weather fabulous. Highly recommend it. Was our second time and we will return. We flew with Air Transat. Nice big new planes. Great value for the money.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great Resort!

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Bahia Principe Punta Cana Resort. Food was good, rooms were nice and the pool was great! With it being a huge resort the beach was packed so watch your stuff as our towels got stolen and make sure you go early! Other then that no complaints about the resort would definitely go back and recommend to others!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great Resort!

Our first visit to this resort was in January 2018. We enjoyed the resort and decided to return for a week in January 2019. We were originally suppose to stay at the Grand Bahia Principe but we were upgraded to the Fantasia which is an amazing resort if you have kids. Because we were upgraded we were able to use some of the facilities at the other resorts. This was nice. The buffet at the Fantasia (they only one we could use) was very noisy, but if you ate outside it was much quieter. The food w [... read more]as excellent and there was lots of choice. Didn't do any other restaurants. The pool was big, but once again lots of kids. We often used the pools at the other resorts. We found you could ask for better alcohol (free) at the Fantasia bars. Although wine and beer were the same wherever you went. The entertainment during the day and at night was great wherever you went. The beach was great to walk on. We could walk an hour each way. Overall an amazing resort. We will certainly return for a third time but not do the upgrade to the Fantasia because of all the kids.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Growing resort, still very good

This was our third trip to the Gran Bahia Principe complex in Punta Cana over the last 8-10 years. On our first trip the resort was essentially two hotels in one, and it has since grown to seven hotels. Most recently we stayed at GBP Esmeralda in 2017 and GBP Aquamarine in 2019. For our January 2019 trip, we booked Royal Golden club in the GBP Punta Cana, in part due to some of the promised amenities (direct transfer from airport, own check in, bottle of rum, towels in room). On arrival we were  [... read more]transported directly to the complex but the Royal Golden was the third stop. We were told that we were being offered an upgrade to Aquamarine, a "newer hotel". We accepted, not seeing we had much option. The following day we inquired with the Transat rep, who told us that this was a hotel decision, not the tour operator, and who introduced us to one of the managers. This manager spoke with us at length and explained that the hotel had undergone many changes and that Tripcentral/Transat's descriptions of what amenities were provided were out of date. He was frank in that he said his guess was that Royal Golden was oversold, and he explained how Aquamarine was indeed superior, in his opinion. He facilitated additional a la carte restaurant reservations for us and explained further the Aquamarine advantages. We felt our concerns had been better addressed. Regarding our actual experience at Aquamarine, to be fair the hotel is new, clean, well maintained, and well organized. It is at least a 10 minute walk to the beach. Our room was ground floor poolside, since we no longer enjoy climbing stairs. The main pool is very lively - don't expect quiet, despite the Adults Only status, but after all, that is the job of the animation staff and they do it well. The beach, compared to our early visit in 2010 or so, is highly subdivided. The aquamarine section is no more than 30 meters across, and is quite crowded. The actual Bavaro beach, on which anyone can walk for kilometers, remains unrivalled. We found the staff on the grounds and in the restaurants and lobbies to be uniformly friendly. Don't expect everyone to speak English superbly - that's unreasonable. We found the food to be very good in the buffet and in the a la carte restaurants, especially the Rodizio (Brazilian). When it came time to leave, we were instructed to get a bellhop to drive us to the GBP Punta Cana lobby, since that was where we were dropped off. We did so, only to encounter other transferred guests on the bus who had been picked up at Aquamarine. So, on balance, we had a very good holiday, a notch down from the excellent rating we would have given had we received what we thought we had purchased.
