Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Great Resort!!!

The hotel and grounds were immaculate!!the staff were constantly cleaning the walkways and floors from early morning to late evening..Food was superb in both the a la carte and buffet.there was such a great variety of food and presentation beautiful.We met 2 excellent servers,Paulina and Alex. Both of them were friendly and attentive beyond belief.We mostly went to the buffet, mainly because of them.Pools,bartenders and wait staff all fantastic..just a great crew!!

Riu Guanacaste: Unforgettable vacation

The trip from start to finish was great. We had a quick check in to allow us to get to the buffet on time before closing. On booking we had upgraded our room and were not disappointed. Beautiful view of the ocean and the well kept grounds. Did not get even get a chance to try all the a la carte restaurants as the buffet alone was exceptional. Friendly , helpful staff. Riu Republica: Awesome Resort

Stayed at this hotel from Feb 2 to Feb 9, 2018. A beautiful resort but was a little too big for me. It was quite a walk to the beach because we stayed at the FUN pool which was located at back of the resort. The staff were amazing. The food was excellent. The rooms were very clean and modern, however I had to phone the front desk twice because when we went back to our room after 5 pm it was not yet done. They came within 10 mins and we just asked for clean towels. Riu Reggae: Fantastic time!!

This was our first time at an adult only resort and we are so happy with our choices! This resort was just the right size, everything was so close, the bars, the rooms, and the bathrooms!! This resort was so clean, and right on the beach! Our room was Ocean front, large with a great baloney overlooking the pool area. The service right from the time we arrived to the restaurants and bars was wonderful. Our every need was met and we are already making plans to return.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Perfect Location

The food and staff were excellent. Good size of resort. Beach is beautiful. The only thing would be the room smelled a bit and air conditioner not working very well. Felt very safe outside the resort. The French restaurant was a bit too long to wait for our meal.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Everything and more

We were very impressed with the resort. The beach wasn’t as desirable as others we’ve been at and not being able to swim in the ocean was the only down side. The rooms were very clean as well as the public areas. Someone was always cleaning. The food and the staff were fantastic. No reservations were required for the a la cartes so we went to one every night and were not disappointed. We will definitely recommend this resort!!

Riu Merengue: Poor Performance

The hotel was recently sold and will cease operations in May. The staff have not been advised if they will be retained or not. Service people in all areas of the hotel are essentially walking dead. To reduce cost the hotel has closed half the restaurants and there is insufficient space for all the guests in the main dining room. Guests must wait to get a table and have to clean it themselves because there are not sufficient staff. Food lines are over ten minutes. This is a 2 Star hotel. I [... read more] recommend that it be dropped from Trip Central and Sunwing sites to preserve your reputations.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Carefree Escape

The very best thing about this hotel is the staff. We enjoyed every individual who worked to make our holiday everything we could have asked for. The hotel is fresh, spotlessly clean and offers non stop fresh and carefully prepared food, drinks both non alcoholic and alcohol. The pool is well maintained and the ocean of course is stunning.

Riu Emerald Bay: Riu riu

The riu is about thirty minutes from airport.When we arrived check in was so easy and fast very friendly, room was nice there was a puddle of water on the floor as we entered the room,we spoke with front desk about it we went to grab some food,when we went back it was taken care of,fridge was kept stalked with water and beer every day,there pools were nice, beautiful beach great for walking the weather was pretty good a couple of cloudy days but still was warm.Food was very good you would never  [... read more]starve they also had a beach party excellent bbq they had a band dance floor on beach big bon fire that was very well done , nightly entertainment needs some help,during the day there games were fun,they had a foam party witch was a lot of fun, they need better pillows,and the bed was a little to hard.overall we enjoyed our stay and would return,the second floor is good if you can get it,easy access to stairs so you don’t have to use the elevator.

Riu Playa Blanca: nice resort

Smaller resort with everything you need. It has a nice long beach, perfect for walks, the pools are amazing and overall everything is well kept. The beach kiosk's offer a good selection of souvenirs at great prices and without pressure. The food is good and with a good variety. This was our first 5* hotel and I would compare it to some of the 4* we have visited. The temperature was great all week (32C). This is a statement not a complaint: other than the Steakhouse the other 2 ``à la car [... read more]te`` are not quite à la carte, the Asian is totally buffet style and we had practically no service and the Italian is semi buffet style (the main course is served but the appetizer and dessert is buffet). There was a moldy or sewer smell in the Asian and Italian restaurant which was not to appetizing.

Riu Merengue: Resort has gone down in quality

After going to this resort 4 years (and loved it) we went again in Jan 2018. Huge disappointment. Rooms smelled of mold, food was absolutly horrible, and the a la cartes were worse than the buffet. Lineup for dinner reservations were full by 7am each day. We did find out that the resort was closing in June as it was bought out. Hopefully improvements will be done then. On a positive note, the pools were all clean, great entertainment and beautiful beaches. Staff were all amazing and friendly.

Riu Palace Peninsula: 5 star Resort

We just got home from 10 Wonderful days at the Riu Palace Peninsula. I don’t have anything negative to say about this resort other than the evening entertainment was lacking a few days. Spectacular location wonderful room terrific food, superb service and great drinks made for a memorable holiday. I would go back in a heart beat.

Riu Palace Antillas: Great place

This hotel is a remodel from an old Westin I believe. It's not really a 5 star as advertised where you might expect perfection but it is still a very nice hotel with great service. You have access to the neighbouring Riu Palace as well. Their pool was better but our food was better. Our bathroom tub was refitted and it was not solid which was a bit of a slipping hazard and the bathroom tap leaked a bit. The food was excellent with many choices at each meal. The al a carte restaurants were easy  [... read more]to get into without much wait and the pager system worked very well, you can get a drink in the bar while you wait. The steakhouse was very good but our friends found the Italian one just ok. They had premium alcohol at the bars which was a nice change to other resorts we've been to. Music around the pool was missing except for when they had activities going on. Doesn't have to be loud but it's a nice touch around the pool. Brian, and Jayme from the entertainment staff were hilarious. You do have to reserve chairs by the pool but it wasn't too difficult and there is plenty of chairs on the fantastic beach with lots of huts for shade. Service at all bars and restaurants was excellent and the staff was all very friendly. The manager even managed to set up a super bowl party which was appreciated, but they wouldn't let us take food out of the buffet area to supplement the small food selection they had set up. That was frustrating. All in all it was a fantastic week and I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would go back as well.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing resort

There was nothing we didn’t like. Food was excellent, property impeccably kept and room was clean. Large resort and beautiful beach. Can use facilities at Riu Merengue as well. Live entertainment every night.

Riu Palace Antillas: Not a Palace

While I do not think this was a 5* hotel, I did have a nice stay. The staff were pleasant and the service was very good. There was a manager that was constantly asking us if the service was good and if there was anything he could do to make our stay better. The food was exceptional with great variety, especially at the buffet. The drinks were so-so (the orange juice was Tang or something other than orange juice). The room we stayed in was very musty smelling - even when the air conditioning was left on all day, there was no difference. I liked the activities around the pool area that were held at different times during the day. The beach area is beautiful and the water is clear. Some of the shows at night were very good and they put on a great Superbowl Party for us on the Sunday, complete with a large screen television and Superbowl buffet. ps On the bus going to the hotel , the woman with the microphone tried to sell us $10 bracelets to ward off the "bad mosquito problem in Aruba". Don't buy one, I never saw one mosquito.

Riu Montego Bay: Great resort

We just returned from this resort,had a great time,very clean lots to do staff friendly,food good ,sunshine what more can you ask for,the beach is kept clean lots of lounges for relaxing around the pool and on the beach

Riu Playa Blanca: Very good resort

We been there last year in January and liked it ,every thing is amazing that's wy we went this year again the hotel, place staff service , resorants and food is good .The beach is amazing the only thing we didn't like is that the bilardo game was not included you have to pay 6 dollar for one hour this year

Riu Merengue: Great resort

Liked everything there other than when sitting at tables aroud the bar as ashtrays, cups etc. would sit there, every once and a while somebody might come around and clean your table for you. Other than that I would say it was EXCELLENT!!! ESPECIALLY THE STAFF!!!

Riu Republica: A 3 star resort

This resort is very large and not suited for people who are seniors with any type of walking disability. We fit this descriptor and were assigned a room a distance away from the lobby, restaurants and buffet The food was good especially the buffet. The liquor is not premium unless it is stocked and you ask for it. The rooms were quite comfortable and clean. The shower water was not consistent in temperature. One minute it would be perfect in temp and the next minute the water would be scalding h [... read more]ot. This would continue throughout the shower. Approximately 90 % of employees at the resort do not speak or understand English. A very major problem when ordering drinks or trying to resolve problems.There were no do not disturb signs and the cleaning staff would be banging on your door quite early followed by the fridge stocker. Not very relaxing. When the Maids ran out of clean glasses on their carts they washed the glasses in sink water and replaced them on the tray. This caused me illness for 6 and a half days due to water bourne protazoa. This resort is listed as a 5 star. In my experience this resort is a 3 star.

Riu Republica: Wonderful Vacation

This resort was beautiful. Only a two suggestions. 1. Fans needed in bathroom. 2. Need to upgrade the House Wine. Otherwise we have no complaints and we would recommend this Resort. The food was amazing. It was wonderful to not have to make reservations for the Restaurants. We loved the Indian and the Italian so much they were visited twice during our 10 day stay. The beach was perfect.
