Hotel Camino del Mar: Awesome family vacation

Traveled with my family and friends, including my 4 month old grandson, Sept 21-28/2018. The people at the Melia have never been so accommodating. Having never traveled with an infant before we really didn't know what to expect. The play pen was up to our standards as every country has their own baby standards. Was relieved and had no issues putting the baby to bed every night. A few changes. They had an awesome dinner/video dance on the beach and I absolutely loved it. Great food and some f [... read more]un games. A dinner around the pool was a nice touch as well. The hotel wasn't crowed so there were no wait lines anywhere, which was nice. Service expectational as always. People amazing and food was terrific. Thanks Kiki for always cooking our favorites you are an amazing chef. My favorite omelet lady always greeted us with a smile and a delicious omelet. Front desk staff were awesome and accommodating on check-in. Although a couple of requests couldn't be met that night, but were quickly rectified the next morning. Beach gets more awesome every time I go... Yes the pool liner still needs to be changed, some of the rooms are tired and some shortages happened while we were there. Were they deal breakers or ruined our vacation. Not even a little bit. I love this resort, not only for the beach, sun, food and great memories that we make every time we go. But for the people, the staff (whom I can't say enough about) and the new friends we make each trip. Lastly I would like to say welcome to the new and very visable manager Carlos, who took time out of his crazy days to speak to us every day, listen to a few concerns and made notes of any recommendations that we as repeat clients thought would be helpful to some much needed changes to the Melia. Looking forward to going back soon.

Hotel Camino del Mar: No complaints

Amazing place. The people, and the beach, and the experiences were fantastic. The food was ok and there was something for everyone. Had a couple of meals under the stars.We will definitely going back again.

Melia Las Americas: Great resort

Clean hotel, buffet was excellent (no kidding), adult only, amazing beach... Well it's Varadero! Staff polite and friendly... Cubans are lovely. Been to Varadero 5 times and twice to this hotel... by far the best. Highly recommend.

Sol Varadero Beach: Friendly staff

Rooms are clean sraff is so friendly you cant beat the beach and ocean have a great swim up pool with stools older resort but clean wish it was a little xloser to town but you can hop on a bus for 5 cuc and its good all day you can hope on and off all day

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Unbelievable

We really enjoyed our stay ! Our room was huge and clean but a bit dated. The beach was beautiful with great views and clean, the drinks were plentiful, service was good if you stayed near the bar ! Plenty of chairs and umbrellas but go early. The pool area was clean and spacious, always got a great spot with lounge chairs. Service was good around the pool , always got a drink when needed. If the restaurants were air conditioned like the gift shop the experience would be fantastic.. It's tough to enjoy your meal and experience when your sweating like a porn star. Check in was a bit teeth pulling but got through it ! Huge Rush at onetime.. Night Entertainment was good ! The rock band was our favorite!, Some minor things that stood out was the lighting near our rooms it was to dark ! Some thing so simple to solve and is the biggest negative!! Melia Las Americas: Amazing Time

We had an absolutely amazing time (5 people total - 30+ yrs). From Angela Douglas @ Trip Central dealing with an unexpected flight change (she deserves a 5 star review of her own!!) Sunwing service was really good! Check In was a breeze online, we were all able to sit in the same row, and the service on the flight was perfect. Melia Las Americas was very welcoming. Beach was impeccably clean, and easy to get sunchairs My husband golfed almost every day and loved it. We took a day trip into Havana in a classic car organized by the concierge at an amazing price and had a wonderful time Water activities were accessible and fun. The hotel had different activities organized for people everyday and while we did not participate, people were having fun! The lobby of the hotel had live music every night which was amazing. All in all a great experience.

Paradisus Varadero: Sunshine and thunder.

The hotel was a 4 star not 5. The beach and pool were good. The staff was friendly. Rooms were clean but the bathroom needed a lot to be desired. Entertainment was the highlight of this hotel. The tour of Havana was expensive but good made even better as the tour guide was informative and funny. The grounds of the hotel were well kept.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Food Poisoning

We were greeted with a smile and a glass of champagne. It went down hill from here. We were one of five couples and we were told our room was not ready. As we were the only returning guests of the group I told the receptionist I was not pleased with this and she started to scream at me in Spanish. We were then told to go and get some food and the room would be ready in 15 minutes. We went and had something to eat and came back 30 minutes later and seated ourselves in the tram. After some more di [... read more]scussion with the bell hop he proceeded to take us on a tour of the royal service area and rooms wasting more time. After this he made a phone call and our room was now ready. The room was spacious and clean. On the third day of our trip I started to feel sick and this lead to diarrhea and vomiting. I stayed in bed for two days and then went to the medical center. The staff and Doctor at the medical center were very courteous. I was diagnosed with having food poisoning and was given an injection and two types of antibiotics. I started to feel better after getting home. This was an additional cost to me of 105 cuc after spending half of our trip in the room.

Memories Cayo Largo: Nice looking and comfortable resort

The grounds were well kept. The buildings are old but clean. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. The beach was very well kept. It was like a dream come true to walk on such white sandy beach. The Playa Serena 10 minutes away was breathtaking with pristine waters.

Sol Varadero Beach: First stay, great vacation, good hotel

I was for 10 days at Sol Sirenas. As usual I read before arrival good and bad reviews.. I asked a room close to everything and on ground floor as I move with walker. And I was given #1002 which was exactly that, so for the first time I did not have to move. I had good A/C which was on 2 volumes and was working OK. I had a brand new fridge - first time I saw in Cuba. I had many international channels on TV, movie, sport, news in all languages. Shower was perfect, not always hot water, but  [... read more]who needs it in 40C heat? Big comfortable, not new, but OK bed. Balcony looking towards the pools, far enough from the Entertainment in the evening to be disturbed. They repair one part of the resort, so there was occasional power and water supply cuts, but not for long and in several hours everything was back in business. But there was no any disturbing noises from it. Hurricanes are here every year and every hotel needs funding and money from the State to do EVERY year repairs and renovation and this is not an easy matter for the Cubans. Plenty of fresh food-3 types of fresh lean meat every day, several types of veggies-raw and cooked, cheeses, ice creams, lots of desserts. Clean rooms. Older furniture, true, but they make it up with good cleaning. And they are repairing and renovating the resort already. Best pools for disability people - no steps and ladders = just gradually going in the water - great! and in interesting shape so it gives privacy . FANTASTIC WHITE SAND LONG AND WIDE BEACH!! True - the beach chairs are very old and some need to be thrown out already, but there are plenty of palapas for the strong sun and also around the pool all chairs are new. Very well kept outdoor space. Nice shows every night and GREAT hard working staff everywhere - kind , knowledgeable, helpful and respectful. I was with a walker and alone, by myself and worried first when I saw everything everywhere was on terraces. But they do have ramps and if you do not want to go that much around to use them - the terraces are made one step level at a time so that it was easy even with the walker to move up or down one step to other level. I will go back when I got such great price for a single room as iI got this September. There were some days with more mosquitoes but with repellent it was OK. That was my 22nd time in Cuba, and first here and I have been all over Cuba and in Varadero 10 times and I always go there for the beach and the ocean and they are extremely beautiful here and easily accessible. This hotel for me is a great find.

Sol Palmeras: mixed review

hotel was well maintained and the rooms were descent. however, the food was much better at past varadero resorts. my husband got severe food poisoning and almost couldn't travel home. site doctor was amazing!

Sol Palmeras: Great resort lost to do

The resort is kept very clean. The public bathrooms are emasculate. Lots of entertainment and activities all day long (lots of fun). Needs a separate coffee bar, just like there juice bar and ice cream bar. Check out was the worst I have ever experienced, only one room dedicated for everyone that had a late check out and a shortage of towels to that room which backed up everyone waiting. This area differently needs to be fixed as there are quite a large amount of people with late check  [... read more]outs. The other thing I didn't understand is why we had to return out beach towels by noon or pay a deposit to keep them longer, when we were not flying out till late in the evening and we could return the towels in by 5 pm and get our receipt back to give to the front desk as proof that we returned them.

Hotel Vigia: Resort has some concerns for tourists

This is a resort I frequent often as I have developed many friendships over the years. The staff are amazing and the friendliest of any other resort. However, there is a decline in the star rating and issues are clearly seen. I understand, recovery from frequent hurricanes has an impact. The staff work extremely hard. Head Office Professionals should frequent their hotels to view and assess the problems. The quality of the food has declined, not the same as previous years. The buffet, the [... read more] lobby snack bar, with limited choices, and the specialty restaurant is open.. the beach bar closed, possibly due to low occupancy. There are units with black mold on the outside , definitely a health hazard. Some of the mould is covered with white wash,. For the price paid , this should not be is situation...The grass /grounds is not maintained as it used to be. Could be because it is very hot?? or shortage of staff? The lobby washrooms are very old , never any liquid soap in the ladies, but there is liquid in the men's, definitely need to be renovated.. the washroom near the pool is very dirty and smelly.. needs to be torn down completely and re-built. The TV's in some of the rooms need to be replaced, several clients were complaining. Other than that, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable., the chamber maids work very hard. The Staff is amazing, cannot help but love the Cuban People. There is only so much they can do...But the Head Offices need to frequent their resorts and fix all the issues or they will loose customers who will go elsewhere. This particular resort is in a perfect location with a beautiful walking beach.. I would not recommend to a friend at this time as the feedback would not be positive.. There is a lot of good, but first time traveller here would return with complaints for sure.

Melia Marina Varadero: Amazing resort!

Simply put, a wonderful resort. All features of the hotel were impeccable. The staff courteous, professional and friendly. The location was excellent. Food was very good. In particular, the specialty restaurants were delightful. I definitely recommend a stay here.

Paradisus Varadero: Amazing Paradise!!

Just returned 2 days ago! Girls trip! Excellent food, in all restaurants! Japanese was fabulous! Amazing service. The staff really do go above and beyond. Everything went beyond my expectations! Cannot wait to go again.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Nice staff

Hotel facilities clean neat, service friendly. Big thumb up for stop using plastic straws. Ice cream and coffee are great! Weakness: a la cart food is very blend, meat are tough, flavourless, buffets lacks variety.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Mixed feellings

Very good beach and pool. Friendly but not always efficient staff. Even though the resort was nowhere near full, we were put into a ground floor room in spite of requesting a second floor. The room was so musty we asked to change and were shown another equally smelly ground floor room. Only then were we given a choice of acceptable second floor rooms. Another negative feature was the poor quality food in the restaurants. The meal in the so-called French restaurant (there was nothing remotely  [... read more]French about the menu) has to rank as one of the worst I have ever been served. Out of the restaurants, only the Japanese was any good.

Sol Palmeras: A WORTH IT RESORT!

Where do I start? My wife and I had a bungalow..more than reasonably priced and can comfortably fit 4 persons. Very close to the beach but a bit of a walk (5 mins) to the lobby which is the only place you can get internet ($1c/hr).We are young so it's okay but you can request the 100s bungalow which would then be more convenient otherwise. The hotel staff were amazing.. everyone is super nice. Try to reserve a la carte restaurants in the hotel tho as they're all better than the buffet. G [... read more]rounds were clean. Beach is clean.. and don't be afraid to leave the resort and visit a few clubs nearby. La comparsita, for example or street bars like Calle 62.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Awesome Resortt

Everything was excellent, cleanness, pleasant staff, beautiful beaches, great food.... Except one thing, water was an issue to order to our room, one bottle a day for two people is not enough with the heat. We recommend two bottles for sure!! Otherwise all was excellent!

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great resort

We love this resort. This is our third time there. The Cuban people working at the hotel are very nice. However this is the first time where we have not been very happy. Since now the local people come to the hotel over the Summer. We were being pushed at the buffet (just to give an example). Also there were drunk, noisy people at the entertainment, in fact disturbing the show. And the security guards do not interfere??? So, in short. we'll go there again but not necessarily over the Summer.
