Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: "You Get What You Pay For"
Our first impression upon arrival at Club Amigo was that the staff at front desk were not at all friendly, know very little about customer service, highly unorganized and very SLOW! The resort is not fancy but very large, rooms are very basic but clean, food was ok, a la carte restaurants were fine but don't expect gourmet meals. The grounds were kept clean, the beach is absolutely beautiful but its a public beach and this resort is open to the locals. We enjoyed our afternoon cappuc [... read more]
Playa Pesquero: a good week with my grandson
I have been to playa pesquero every year at least once and sometimes 2 times a year since 2004 and have grown to be a little fond of the wonderful people who work here. So here is my review. I have seen many changes some good and some bad over the years but still would return because the majority of the staff are wonderful with a few that do not really care. The ice cream parlor lady is always happy and friendly, the mojito bar and the coffee bar are the best service for bars. You will hav [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: Loved The Beach
Few people got their feet hurt in the pool but the beach was amazing. Room service had to be called few times to bring water and beer for the fridge, everything else was great. Food was amazing. Friendly staff !
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Paradisus Rio de Oro, Holguin - Cuba
We were very happy with our stay at Paradisus, Holguin Cuba. Hotel is excellent and most importantly, the staff are really wonderful! We like the Buffet restaurant more than the other restaurants - we found that food is a bit salty for our taste. We have to remember to let them know to take it easy on salt next time we're there :) We also had a great spa experience.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great resort, great staff
This hotel is definitely a five star that caters to all your vacation needs. Royal Section is very quiet and is perfect for a relaxing vacation. Property is huge so if you don't like walking be prepared to be shuttled around in gold carts.
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Overall, good resort for the price
The Sol Rio de Luna y Mares in Holguin province Cuba is best described as a good resort. We travelled in July 2016. The highlight of the resort is the location on the Playa Esmerelda. A wonderful beach with warm water, coral reefs close by, and waves. The easterly trade winds blow regularly so this can be challenging for some non-motorized activities, especially in the afternoon. The wind does cool off the warm days. The two pools are modest in size, and can get crowded if the resort is full. We [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Overall a good resort
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares resort in Holguin Province is best summarized as an overall good resort. The prize of the resort is it's location on Playa Esmeralda - a wonderful beach for swimming and snorkelling. Five star beach for certain. However, take note that the easterly trade winds regularly blow waves into the cove by noon so wave action is the norm for the area. This can be a blessing or disappointment for some, depending on your taste. The wind does provide a nice breeze during the warm d [... read more]
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: peaceful garden
The hotel was accessible a step away from dining area pool bar and beach beautiful view from the room the staff hard working, humble people. The environment stress free and peaceful you forget all your stress
Sol Turquesa Beach: Bad!
During our stay, we had to go to the Sunwing agent several times to complain. We did not have tap water and hot water in our room, they changed our room. In the new room, the dirty shower water of the unit above us was pouring on our head in our shower (we have the video), they again changed our room. In the third room there was no hot water again.. so frustrating.. There is only one or two shuttles who pass by in that big resort.. so never wait for them as it is such a waste of time. At the tim [... read more]

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great Resort
The resort was beautiful. The staff were exceptional. Very polite and very helpful. The grounds were kept tidy and very clean. The food at the buffet and a la carte were excellent. The Ocean view Villas were nice except that there were trees, weeds and bushes blocking the view to the Ocean. We did not have those, but people who paid a lot more money for those were disappointed. I would not pay for those. Our room was very nice close to the main building. A two minute walk to the pool and beach. [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: EXCELLENCE
THIS LONG TIME ADULTS ONLY FAVOURITE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. BUILDINGS WHERE WELL SPACED WITH VERY WELL MAINTAINED GROUNDS. OUR ROOM WAS A GROUND FLOOR,PATIO UNIT. IN BUILDING 40 THAT WAS 2 BUILDINGS FROM THE MAIN LOBBY AND THE BUFFET/A LA CARTE RESTAURANTS IN ONE DIRECTION WHILE 4 BUILDINGS FROM THE MAIN POOL. THE ROOM WAS A BED WITH SUNKEN SITTING AREA WITH A SMALL PATIO. THE POOL WAS A LARGE L-SHAPE THAT YOU COULD DO LAPS IN. ITS SWIM UP BAR WAS WELL ATTENDED AND A FOCAL POINT FOR MEETING OTHE [... read more]
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Mediocre
Not very impressed. Been to better 3 stars. Beach was terrible. Rocky and literally 3 foot path to wade in along with anyone else getting in or out at the same time as you. Nice Italian bistro serves lunch, only decent food really. Buffet same everyday all day. Entertainment staff sucky, shows boring, overall blah atmosphere. Promised 5 a la carts, got 2. Apparently our agent only booked us standard not "PLUS". Would have been nice to know there was an option. Excursion was nice to hav [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: Pretty good but not great
The resort is massive the pools are great the beach wasn't great I don't know if I could give the resort a full review because it was so hot I was in the pool bar all day heat was unbearable even at night so wouldn't return in July otherwise it was good food was decent snack bar had the best bar at night and food there was decent had a good week just so hot resort ok nice and laid back.
Playa Pesquero: Phenomenal Resort
An amazingly safe, friendly, beautiful resort. We all had the phenomenon vacation. Fantastic and honest staff👌🿠Extermely good food with lots of varieties. Lots of outdoor activities, family friendly lobby, clean swimming pools, fantastic medical care facilities and many more great features and amenities ðŸ‘ðŸ¿ðŸ‘ðŸ¿ðŸ‘ðŸ¿ðŸ‘🿠Highly recommended to friends and family, keep up the good work.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Nice resort
Close to perfection, very pleasant experience without royal services. Perfect location for outdoor people, maybe challenging for non swimmers because water way entrance. Perfect spot for snorkeling and diving. Just recommended to my son and hopefully he will get our advise. Very hard to find something unlikeable at this resort and all personnel was very pleasant and courteous. We never use the pool but was pleasent athmosfere around the pool. We will be back in the future.
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Good resort!
Beaitiful hotel and grounds. Food was good, better than in most hotels we've visited over the period of last 15 years. The only thing I did not like was long walk down to the beach under the hot Cuban sun.
Playa Pesquero: Beautiful beach!
We didn't get a good service at the buffet. Lacking of staff at the hotel. Food was ok. Beach was cristalline and lovely! Hotel is large, clean and nice ground. By the way, it's a public beach so a lots of Cubans were there and it was nice to see them.
Playa Pesquero: Big surprise!
We love the beach at Playa Pesquero. Food is the same in Cuba but the restaurants a la cartes are surprisingly good. A lots of birds though. The biggest surprise that there was almost no mosquitoes during the week of July 11-18. Maybe there was no rain so we were lucky. Overall, we would go back for the beach for sure.
