Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful Grounds and Beach

The beach, pools and grounds were breathtaking! The room was clean, with a traditional tropical decor. I would say the room was more 3 star as it had some items needing repair. Bare minimum in towels and room cleaning was good but nothing extra provided, even the refill of the shampoos and soaps were not done. The food was not very good. Lots to choose from at the buffet but I had stomach cramps after eating there. The restaurant at the beach (Tequila) was much much better plus the view. [... read more] The service at the bars was quite frankly terrible. Warm drinks and grumpy bartenders. I speak Spanish AND we tipped them and that did not seem to change their moods. The service overall at this resort was not good, the people are not helpful but still expected tips. We had about 3-4 staff who were very friendly but the rest nope. We went for 4 days and that was perfect. We enjoyed the beach and an excursion and unlike many other vacations, I was not sad to leave. It was the perfect amount of time at this resort to enjoy the sun, beach and the country without getting too sick, annoyed or hungry. I would recommend it, if like us, you were focused on the beach part and the adventure. There is no luxury at all. A true 3 star should be the expectation.

Be Live Collection Punta Cana Adults Only: Nice Layout But Poor Advertising

The Adults side of the Be Live experience provided access to both adult and family sides, yet they didn't advertise any of the daily activities - which made for a poor experience of a guessing game when things would be happening.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: A GREAT RESORT STAYED THERE 2012 ALSO

THE UPGRADES TO THE WALKWAYS AND THE HALLS IS EXCELLANT THE ROOMS ARE ALSO AIRY AND THE DECOR AND BEDS ARE GREAT WE WERE ON THE MAIN FLOOR WITH A WALKOUT PRIVATE SEATING AREA LOOKING ONTO THE POOL AND THE SWIM UP BAR THE STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY . Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Nice resort

Nice hotel with well maintained gardens, lounge area and clean rooms. Restaurant was clean (with few holes in the walls which I think it would cost lots of time and $$ to fix). Plenty of food, drinks and coffee. The customer service by the reception was very helpful, especially Diana, who I hope will soon be promoted, as she is smart, nice, helpful and knowledgeable. The only weird thing we encounterrd was at the Rodizio restaurant...Oh, boy, they need to change something there soon.. I have seen and heard soo many complaints...It is supposed to be an "à la carte, resto...well it is not. That would be ok, but the way they manage to explain the serving and how they serve 1 plate to 3 people...it was hilarious and pathetic. Pools were great, beach as well...just lots of algae. Overall, nice resort for the money.

Punta Cana Princess: Decent resort

Small adult only resort. Staff are awesome. Food is great at buffet and alacartes. Nelson is fantastic personable swimup bartender who I can’t say enough positive things about. Other notable staff include Felix, Israel, Juana Iris, Christobalina, Ordalaina, Carlos among others who all took great care of us. Rooms are dated. We were given a room with a toilet that had to be plunged constantly from the start. Tried to get it fixed since it was a great location but asked for transfer to diffe [... read more]rent room which they did. Pool was disappointing because of algae present at walk in ramp. They were working on the pool before we left. It was refreshing however and we did use it. Bathroom is tight even for average size people. Staff really make this place work

Ocean El Faro: Nice family resort.

The overall experience was good! We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids (one of them is 7month old). The hotel amenities are just good for families with kids (Waterpark, lazy river, playground, kids club, all areas are equipped for strollers, high chairs). My kids loved lazy river and great number of pools, I also liked Waterpark as I was mostly there with an infant. The beach area is good, but it's always stormy at Punta Cana, so it was dangerous to swim in the ocean(red flag almost all of  [... read more]the time). Food was OK, but sometimes they run out of some meals and don't replenish (even if it was still 1 h before breakfast ends up). Also they often run out of dry beach towels at the pool changing stations. This happened twice to us. We were trying to get dry towels in early afternoon and they said they don't have any. Ala carte restaurants are good (we visited sacura (Japanese), Dolce vita (Italian) and Margarita ( Mexican ). Shows are average. I would still recommend this hotel. It's good.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: We had good vacation but won't be back to this resort

We enjoyed our vacation. Hotel was only half full and it obviously helped to our positive experience. Food was good, no line ups to omelet station in the morning :) Rooms need updates badly. The worse part for me was that hotel advertises itself like quite place where you can relax ... however in reality their beach boards marina with number of private boats belonging to different tourist companies. Each boat has music playing on the loudest possible settings. So imagine at least 15- 20 boa [... read more]ts waiting for tourist and playing 20 different melodies .... In front of the beach ( literally 100 meters off the shore) is a dolphinarium and snorkeling place, where these boats taking tourist still playing music as loud as they could possibly do. It was major to me and really annoying. I came to relax and spent time playing with the ocean and reading my book.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Changing times

Beautiful birds, fish, lush gardens all around, good service, kind and caring personnel all over the place , nice rooms , spacious beach but people flooded them after Covid , sea weeds like other beaches, average entertainment ,the loveliest given by our beautiful children dancing shuttle bus was great, security was noticed which gave sense of safety, they all made us to forgive the lack of food variety, quality known of Iberostar ? I wanted to book the big modern nearby riu palace at 1200$ pp rather than the 1750$ pp we paid , but my wife thought Iberostar had super foods , based on the good recommendation of martine from tripcentral we had been to Barcelona palace and the food was great that was before Covid . Airport a small mess , our plane was late 2 hours, they changed the departure gate without people informed , and they had to search for the bags of that rouge late passenger , may be he/she did not notice gate change, the screen changed so fast ? And the few transat personnel were only at the departure gate busy with long lines , the whole airport is not adequate for the huge traffic , I noticed buses loading people to jets almost pumping in with wings of planes like human traffic in crowded bazaars in less gifted places against all safety standards of dedicated lane design in airports

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Needing improvement

Air conditioning was not working in a entire section of hotel....very hot in rooms. Food was over salted and boring in buffet, no Covid restrictions. Check in was a night mare. We are several times repeat guests and nothing was done to recognize that. Overall sad to say failing grade from this repeat costumer.

TRS Turquesa: TRS Punta Cana

This hotel is a 4 no where near a 5 rooms extremely dated broken drawers paint splatter all over outside pool tiles missing from swim up grounds are beautiful staff friendly was very disappointing with food

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: Excellent

The hotel was great. Rooms were large with double shower. Very clean and the staff were very nice. I am a Cuba person so the beach is unfortunately nothing compared to Cuba but it was cleaned daily. Food was good amd a good variety

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great stay at Melia Caribe

Spent a great week mid November. Had a family room beachside - renovated, clean, spacious - plenty of towels and amenities provided each day. Resort is big but covered in luscious greenery and ponds and we did not mind the walking. We spent most of our time at the beach - beautiful white sand, never had an issue finding spot we liked. There was a bit of sea weed during our stay (weather related) but was cleaned every day. Food - we were able to make a reservation to a different ala carte re [... read more]staurant each night (except arrival day) so tried most available (we did not stay at the Level so not tried the one restaurant ). Each dinner had something we liked a lot and something a bit less. Least favorite was the Mexican, which is mostly buffet and we found the plated meal uninspiring. Best was Casa Nostra and Spanish. Overall quality of food was good, which aligned with our expectations (did not go there for gourmet food). Service - amazing! Every member of staff we encountered was helpful and smiling. Overall - this is a big and beautiful resort with many different food options and welcoming staff.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Not my favorite resort

If you have children between ages 10 to 17 there is not much for them to do. Bowling, pool and the pirate ship water park are not included in the all-inclusive resort. $15 person per game to bowl seems a little expensive to me. The food was alright out of 7 days I got bacon once and had to ask for it, it wasn't a help your self to it. The sand fleas were really bad, I was covered in bites so don't forget your bug spay. And finally the bartenders were just doing their job. No smiles no fun, no [... read more] thrill to be at there job whether you tip or not. Seemed to me like the tips don't go into theirs pockets! The hotel is clean and the grounds are kept nice. One more thing if you don't like to do alot of walking then this place isn't for you.

Iberostar Selection Coral Bavaro: Good time

Had a good time at the resort. Reservations required for dinner, without knowing which restaurant, menu, and time would be available only problem. Entertainment was so-so. Seaweed on the beach made the beach time unenjoyable.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Excellent Resort and Amazing

The resort was absolutely A+. From start to finish we were taken care off. Very clean, superb service, very friendly staff. The restaurants and food was great lots of variety. The Bar services and room services were Alonso wonderful.

Punta Cana Princess: Wonderful resort!

The resort is low key, adults only with fabulous staff. If you are looking for a quiet, small resort, this would be your choice. It is a true 4+ star with a beautiful beach and large pool. We are repeat guests X12 and will be returning again next year.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Great resort

It was our first time to Dominican & we had a great experience. We upgraded to Platinum and were served with a delicious cold beverage upon arrival. The Platinum pool bar was where we spent most of our days. The bartenders were amazing and really took care of us. The beach overall was very nice but there was a lot of seaweed and we were approached often for excursions, spa packages and photos. The beach is on a long strip of other resorts. The a la carte restaurants overall were very good, espec [... read more]ially the steakhouse and teppanyaki. Upgrading to Platinum gave us the option to make reservations at the restaurants. The crepes & coffee at the Frappuccino bar were the highlight of my afternoons. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were always clean. The only complaints I have about the resort are our room was never cleaned during the day and the water was not hot in the shower. We would leave our rooms around 8am and return around 4pm to a room that was not cleaned & no clean towels. I requested several days in a row for our room to be cleaned early in the day but it was not done. Some days it was not cleaned at all because it was too late in the day. Nonetheless, I would most likely return to this resort and I highly recommend it to others.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Mixed experience

This resort is one of 5 clustered together with a total of 6000 guests! We didn’t know that going in, so pools and the beach were extremely crowded. Some staff were nice, others not so, and many spoke little or no English. Buffet food was good, à la carte restaurants were mixed. Most food was heavily salted. Avoid the so called Brazilian! Grounds are beautiful and lush, but off resort poverty and garbage everywhere are common. Tipping is expected. We would NOT return.

Riu Palace Bavaro: Excellent Resort

Hotel staff, restaurants, grounds and rooms were all very nice. We were upgraded to the Villa after a small incident. I would highly recommend the Villa for a more quieter vacation. Sunwing representative communication was great. The only issue was a huge delay at the Toronto airport upon departure to Dominican Republic.

Excellence Punta Cana: Excellence?

Almost like Covid doesn’t exist in the resort,airports and transfers. Extremely disappointed with the food in this supposed 5 star resort. We noticed it had declined at Excellence Playa Mujeres as well. Much worse here though as steak in all restaurants is tough and hardly able to cut, let alone eat. Lobster was overcooked and also chewy. Breakfast was always cold unless you had your eggs made to order. Bacon,toast,waffles,pancakes,everything cold at Magna, Lobster house and Kitchen table. Dr [... read more]inks were only good at Magna, for the price of this resort, the drinks and food should be great at ALL restaurants and bars. Especially when upgrading to excellence club. Turndown service happened once in 8 days. Day staff was good and night staff. Entertainment was cheesy at best every night.Totally mislead by all the positive reviews on this place. Time for a real review. This place has basically turned us off from the all inclusive brands. Definitely not worth the money. Sorry, we started coming to Excellence for the top notch food and drinks which are very important to an expensive 5 star holiday. Punta Cana does not compare to Mexico or other Caribbean islands……will not return.
