Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Amazing resort

Loved everything ..the app and map a challenge. Staff very helpful! Wildlife wonderful Separate family area a good choice. Quiet area for seniors very nice. Beach a bit rocky A great adventure park for children.

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Wedding Factory

The Dreams resort has amazing restaurants, probably the best we've ever experienced. The room was clean and well kept and having our own personal plunge pool on our deck was amazing. The beach was really good but unfortunately was over whelmed with sea grass, making it virtually unswimable. It did not have enough chairs and umbrellas on the beach at all, so mildly frustrating. What was truly annoying and disturbing, was being sidelined almost every single day because of weddings. Being pushed aw [... read more]ay from your pool lounge chair, so the crews could set up a wedding. Listening to workers push cart after cart after cart of tables, chairs and stuff for weddings. Having to squeeze onto crowded and limited pool space.... because of another wedding. Trying to find a quiet spot to relax was almost impossible because of all the wedding stuff. In my opinion, the resort marginalized regular resort goers to profit from all these weddings. The resort does not have enough physical space to allow for so many weddings and still have regular guests. I would not recommend this resort for that reason alone.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Average resort

The hotel is starting to show signs of neglect. All buildings are in need of new thatched roofs or as a minimum, patches. Many fridges don’t work, fixtures are rusting and showing signs of age, water pressure is poor at best, elevators don’t work and rooms are in need of paint. Our room was not very clean either. The good news is that the beds are comfortable, rooms are spacious, staff are wonderful, and the pool is large enough to hold a lot of guests. The food is good. Entertainment is ave [... read more]rage. While the beach is nice, there is little to no shade and serious lack of lounge chairs. I have no idea where the photo on the side of this review came from as there are no structures with shade. Overall, this resort is average and will start having return guests in a year or two.

Barcelo Maya Palace: As always great

Not disappointed our second stay at Palace. Food, service, rooms, beach is great. My only complaint is beer quality, XX beer is not the best choice. Hotel helped me to find my phone. We are going to be back.

Very big hotel amenities are great. Hugh variety of food st the buffet to suffice everyone's pallet even thd fussist eaters. Location of bars well balanced out. Lobby bar closes last which is great. Lots of natural wildlife around hotel and come right to your patio. Ftom kudamundis to raccoons to Goudis. Staff very pleasant and great help. Only issue was not able to utilize the beach due to the sargassum plaguing the shores

Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel: Badly needs repairs

I stayed at this resort for a week. The property is stunningly beautiful, the food is excellent and the vibe is serene. Unfortunately the infrastructure has been badly neglected. The first few days of our vacation were spent trying to sort out which room they could move us to as the AC wasn’t working in our room. It was 26.5 degrees through the night. The second room they moved us to the AC didn’t work and there was water pouring in through the ceiling. The room we ended up in had issues with the shower pumping out cold water and the fridge didn’t work. I didn’t even bring this up as it was clear wherever we ended up would have issues. I was just happy to be able to sleep comfortably. It was a bummer as the property is spectacular and the service is phenomenal. The staff were lovely and trying their best to accommodate. We got a compt massage to the hassles. It’s sad as the staff is being asked to provide a 5 star experience without the resources required to do so. The reviews are very mixed on this space and I can confirm the 5 star reviews are from people who ended up in a functional room. If you are going to stay here call ahead and ask which rooms have ductless ACs. The upgraded rooms are the only way to ensure you will have the experience you’re paying for.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Great Resort

My husband and I spent two wonderful weeks at the Grand Sirenis in Mexico. We just wanted to rest as I injured my knee and could not walk for long. We spent time at the pool and the beach. The sea weed was really bad so I did not go into the ocean. My husband went in to refresh himself and said the water wasn't very deep and there were tons of fish. We tried all the a la carte restaurants and most were really good. The spa was great. The concierge staff were wonderful team 5 helped us book the r [... read more]estaurants, spa and made sure the shuttle were called to get us around the property due to my sore knee. We had 2 weeks of sun and feel refreshed. Just returned in time for more snow. We will definitely return to the resort in the future.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Overall Disappointing

This resort was just okay. I didn’t feel it was good value for what we paid. The good parts: food at the buffet was quite good with good variety. Service & drink quality at the select bar was great. The grounds were mature and well kept. Housekeeping was very efficient. The beach was fantastic. Lots of loungers in the sun and shade all day. The bad parts: I would qualify Royal Elite sales as harassment. These people will not take no for an answer and will stop at nothing to ruin your d [... read more]ay. For the most part À la carte reservations are available through an extortion scheme. They can’t fit you in unless you agree to spend big money on wine even when the restaurant is nearly empty. Reservations can be made in the app if you’re willing to spent your entire vacation refreshing the app hoping for a miracle. So - it’s not really all inclusive. Information provided (re checkout times & access to late checkout) at the lobby customer services desk was completely different when the same questions were asked at the Meeting Point lobby. It feels like everyone has an agenda and that seems to include misinformation. I’m not sure if this was poor training or staff looking to pocket cash for favours. The rooms and facilities are dated and not well laid out. Eg: crooked artwork & light fixtures - hand towel racks that were 4ft from the sink… not offensive but really bizarre. We had no hot water in our room. We had to report it twice before it was resolved after 2 days.

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Enjoyable and convenient

I like this resort for accessibility to shopping and the beautiful beach. It is on the smaller side but that is what I like. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, good food and really nice staff. My only criticism is for returning guests there is no benefits like other resorts where they acknowledge your returns and upgrade you or do something special. It was my 3rd time there and all they said was "that's very good". It was disappointing. Also, they don't provide face clothes for bathing. Th [... read more]ey have a sports bar that has pool tables but they close them down early after 11pm and most adults don't get a chance to use them because up until then it's full of kids and teens. People don't know there is a DJ and dancing after 11pm in the sports bar because it is hidden. There are very few people that go upstairs because you can't really see it. That is unfortunate because people want to dance and have fun at night and meet other people once the entertainment is done for the night in the courtyard. They should do more to advertise the sports bar and the DJ. These are just small suggestions to make the resort better but overall I recommend this resort.

Grand Sunset Princess: Amazing resort

This resort was very well kept including the buildings and daily manicuring of the grounds. All levels of staff were friendly and willing to offer help. The food was amazing and one of the best of all my travels. The buffet for all daily meals had a wide variety to choose from. There was a wide variety of exceptional restaurants to choose from. There were so many pools to choose from.

The Sens Riviera: Beautiful Resort but.....

We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely spacious room we received. Even though we requested two beds we were fine with the one large one. Pools, atmosphere and really everything was perfect. Tony and Gastavo went above and beyond with the extracurricular activities. We had so much fun doing watercolor and volleyball with these two. They made Aqua Aerobics really fun and yoga was perfect. Our but is the service was lacking extremely long waits once seated in the restaurant (Japanese one inpart [... read more]icular) 1 hr wait for any food. We woukd ask for a drink they woukd forget ask again and still not get anything. The day pool and beach bar had one staff and the waits were far too long and sometimes they were there and sometimes not. Didn't know how long would be gone. The fast food restaurant ran out of plates daily. Again one guy who looked like he hated his job and we ended up giving up everyday to try to get something from there. Forget about getting a drink at the buffet you were finished your meal by the time anyone came around. Same with the coffee shop one oetson to service everyone in the morning. Also ypu shoukd have someone vlean uo the seaweed at first we did but then seemed they just gave up. This place could be a 5 star if you just got the staff.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Perfect Getaway at Barceló Maya!

We had the best stay at the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort. The beaches were beautiful..there are some rocks near the shore, but once past them the water is crystal clear. Best snorkeling is off the pier. Our stay allowed access to 4 resorts, we mostly visited Barcelo Beach and Barcelo Caribe since everything we needed was there, including a shopping mall, casino, and a 24-hour sports bar. Chairs fill up early (around 8am), so putting a towel out in the morning helps. The bracelet room key was so convenient! The buffet food was decent, but à la cartes were the best. Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: 3.5star

Old resort rooms rundown we were locked out of room for over 4 hrs.when we arrived lock on door would not work had 4 different people come and could not fix lock finally changed lock then waited another 2 hours fer security to come and program the lock asked for different room were told they can’t change room because we didn’t like i we told them it was because the lock was not working we had not even seen the inside of room at this time lots of people complaining about the same problem.we compl [... read more]ained to main desk and were told they could not change anything.this was our 3rd.trip to blue bay got worse each trip then we kept getting more hidden taxes will never be back plus never recommend it to anyone. Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun: Everything we hoped for and more!

This was our first time at an Iberostar resort and we were very impressed. The buildings and grounds are immaculate and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The food was beyond our expectations: the buffet was incredible and the restaurants were all very good. Our favourite was the Spanish one, followed by Carribean. We also enjoyed the pizza place, the lunchtime burger cart and the ice cream stand. The rooms are large and well laid out, and all of them have balconies that are nicely furnished. The pools are endless. As everyone has noted, the beach is very narrow, with a lot of sargassam seaweed and it's hard to walk out due to the rocky bottom. However, the view is great, there are lots of lounge chairs and palapas available, the breeze blows constantly, and it's wonderfully quiet. The resort seems to appeal mostly to young families and couples. Everyone was friendly, quiet, happy and relaxed. It was exactly the vacation we were looking for. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Awesome vacation

Our family (2 adults, 13 year old daughter and 10 year old son) stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo in early March 2026. We had an amazing time and loved the resort. Vibrant pool scene, kids loved the water slides and we spent hours in the lazy river. We also enjoyed just walking around the complex, there’s a lot to see. The food was good overall, good selection and availability (seemed to be food and a bar around every corner in the afternoons). The room was fine, not super fancy but very cle [... read more]an and functional. Entertainment was the best I’ve seen with live singers and not just lip syncing like you see at some other resorts. We are already planning our return!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Not Impressed

The hotel itself and area are quite beautiful. However, upon entering our room we were hit with a massive smell of mold and mildew. It was so strong and it was worse when the AC was on (which was always as it was 29 degrees outside) By day 2 We couldn't take the smell any longer as we were feeling sick. When we went to the lobby to ask for a new room we were told we had no choice but stay in that room for the night. You could very clearly smell the treatment plant at the back end of the resort. the next day when we were told our new room number, I was a bit upset that they were keeping us in the same building. They moved us from the ground floor (our room was at the front corner of the building) up to the 3rd floor and in the back corner (nearest possible room to the treatment plant) The room did not smell, however we could not spend time out on the balcony due to the smell from the plant, our room phone was not working and the fridge was so covered in ice that the bottom was full of water. Also there was no coffee for morning. When I asked for the phone and fridge to be fixed, and coffee to be brought to the room, it took 3 days!!!!!!!!! Each bar at the resort only staffed 1 bartender so you were always standing in line for at least 30-40 mins!!!!!!! And the concierge guys were relentless!!!! Every single time we entered the lobby they were on us to upgrade to cirlce one status. No matter how many times or even how polite we were, they NEVER listened. If someone says "No thank you, we are not interested" then leave them be!!!!!! Lastly, I'd like to say that the seating available at the beach and pools was atrocious!! If the resort holds 5000 people, there was only chairs/spots for aprox 1250 people. There were clearly signs posted saying that saving of chairs was not allowed, but almost everyone there was up between 5-6am just to put their towels on chairs to save them. We will never stay at a Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda Resort again!!!!!

Grand Palladium Riviera Resort And Spa: money money money

Grounds were lovely and some amazing staff...tricked into and charged 230 USD for a 25 dollar bottle of wine which is insane for an all inclusive where we had access to top shelf liquor. Food was okay...TRS bbq was amazing

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Heads-up

Our visit 2 years ago was great. However this year they had a college/university booking of several hundred late January. They were very loud with room parties to 2AM. Our last day, the quiet Colonial pool became a pool party with DJ that could be heard at the lobby end of resort. A facebook posting said they also had a "girls weekend" mid January with 1000's of guests. Big bookings now displace family vacations? Good bye Barcelo.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Resort needs more staff

Resort grounds are well kept. Lots of places to walk amongst the trees/greenery away from the beach. Resort seem to have way too many guest levels: blue wrist band, black wrist band and clear wrist band. As expected, the color of the band will determine what you have access to. Seems like blue band are the lowest. Plus areas exclusive for Sens, Sian Khan and other... There is no Bacardi rum of any color at any of the bars I visited. That should give you and indication of what to expect. If your [... read more] taste is preferential towards top shelf alcohol then explore other resorts within the same price range. Food is a hit and miss. Line-up is everywhere at opening hours for all the restaurants. Beach is very narrow and loaded with sea weeds. They are not removed. Water is o.k. Some rocks here and there. Snorkeling is great. If you are Canadian, a $91 US is payable for a 7 night stay. Watch out...you can only pay it in US dollars or Mexican pesos...What utter B.S. I will not go back.
