Hotel Playa Coco: Home away from home

This hotel is my get away place hands down. The hotel is small and easy to navigate. Beautiful beach, some rocks upon entering but but no need for water shoes. The staff is amazing. Maids, bartenders, reception, gardeners,cleaning staff, entertaining team. Just everyone. Super friendly.Smiles all around, all greet you with smile. More of a quiet resort, not so much for the young partiers.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great time at Memories Flamenco

Just came back June 28 from our one week vacation. Location from airport was great! Hotel grounds were clean and well maintained. Hotel staff were helpful and courteous. Pools were always clean, drinks were great and food..well, they did manage to do their best! A bit repetitive in buffet, but Italian a la carte was very tasty. Overall, great time at Flamenco!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Good hotel great beach

The hotel is very old, but maintained. The food was typical Cuban style food, and there was not much variety, but it improved over the last few days of the trip. The beach was stunning, although it seems like you had to walk a mile out to get the water that was only waist deep. We did not use the pools so I cannot comment there, but it did look clean, and many guests appear to enjoy the pools. The main issue with this resort, was the mosquitoes. I amNot sure if it’s Cuba overall, b [... read more]ut I’ve been to Cuba many times before and just never had so many bad mosquito bites as I did this vacation. This happened the minute we stopped on to the bus which took us to the hotel. And continued once we got to the hotel. Also being bitten in our hotel rooms. Because of this, we did not get to experience the shows at night, and stayed indoors to the extent possible, because the mosquitoes were out of control. But it’s probably just that time of year. It was much worse at the beginning of our trip, and not so many mosquito bites towards the end.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Amazing Review

Everything was perfect food , pool, room, staff all friendly, and helpful.One thing I would say maybe have more water in the fridge , and change the pool towels everyday. Besides that resort was wonderful.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Very enjoyable time at this resort!

This review is mostly focused on the 18+ side. The grounds were very well kept. The room was amazing along with the view from the large balcony that was attached. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had no complaints about the internet access, but I did not try any streaming. I was never disappointed at any of the restaurants, they all had good food and service. The buffet was very good as well. The food at the snack bar was also good. The pools were clean and always had available seating. Th [... read more]e beach was wonderful as well. Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Good resort

The resort, room, room service, pools and beach were excellent! The food wasn’t good. Mostly the same, only available fruits were Mangos the rest were from cans. No seafood other than oysters and clams. By the second day, I didn’t want to eat at all. Mostly I ate French fries and bread with cheese.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing staff and beautiful resort

I went in June and the resort and staff were lovely......BUT I would never again go on the off season, the Mossys at night would carry you away and they opened the resort up to local Cubans to book to stay. I have never seen so many disrespectful people iny life, right from the amount of food they waisted to the complete ignorance they had for other people on the resort. I would go back but only during tourist season.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Nice resort but food and drink shortages

Is a nice, well-kept resort but there are major food and drink shortages, including toilet paper. Our neighbours were at this resort for 2 weeks in Feb 2025 and they raved about it - no shortages. But when we were there last week, they were running out of everything. One day they wouldn’t have fries or burgers at the snack bar, the next no coffee after dinner at the buffet. The restaurants were not worth going to - no soy sauce at the Asian one. The mosquitoes were brutal - could not sit [... read more] outside early in the day or after dinner. You had to make a run for your room. They did start spraying with a crop duster mid week which helped a little. We will not be returning to Cuba.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

Newer hotel. Wonderful staff. The world’s best beaches. The food is mid but that’s to be expected at a Cuba resort. Special shout out to Kenny at the beach bar. Great service Kenny! Pro tip, the pizza is only available at lunch at 12:30 and runs out fast. Get there early. Also recommendation to Grand Aston, since the demand for pizza is very high, you should do what you can to increase the number of pizzas and length of time,

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Highly recommend

Coral Esmeralda is a quiet adult resort that we enjoyed so much. Our first time to Cuba and we were a bit hesitant given talk of shortages etc. This resort was clean, well-stocked with very good food, drinks (lots of alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices), necessities like tp, soap, clean bath and beach towels. Beach was beautiful but w [... read more]hen we were there it was very windy and lots of seaweed churned onto the shoreline by the waves. There didn’t seem to be a system for cleaning it up 100%. Coral clients have access to the larger sister resort right beside (Iberostar Selection) which has very nice pools. Coral has a 24 hour snack bar for food and drinks. Highly recommend this resort!!

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Beautiful and amazing resorts

Well it was a beautiful and very good resorts, the lobby is huge good atmosphere ,the employees are friendly. The hotel is very nice , big and clean I’ll like the style of the room, food is ok , the place is beautiful we enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel, and the people., before I forget I enjoyed swimming in the pool and also very relaxing in the beach, the only thing bothered me was the waived. but the hotel is beautiful.

Sanctuary White Sands: So so resort

The hotel was not bad but too long of a bus ride. When we arrived and asked for a room close to the front lobby, one was not available. I have trouble walking and walk with a cane so I was not too happy. The front desk gave us a new room the next day but we had originally asked for a pool view but was given a room with trees and no view. It was closer to the lobby but no view. The service at the snack bar was awful. Very slow and if you don’t tip they just ignore you. The food was very poor i [... read more]n the buffets, the same thing every day and a lot of empty spaces. The a la carte dinners were not so great either. The entertainment was awful. Was given a wheelchair on the second day and had to return it after 2 days because the paint on the handles ruined my expensive skirt with black paint. Showed it to the front desk and they did nothing about it. This was the worst trip I’ve ever been on. The only good thing was that the pool was clean and the resort was clean. The staff was not nice and if you don’t tip, they ignore you. Not nice at all, since we already pay enough for the trip.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: The perfect private club !!!

This resort was such a surprise to us - it was quiet - wonderful staff - so pleasant !!! and helpful- the food was top notch - great presentations at sit down dinners - The drinks were so good - not watered down like at other resorts. Beach was unbelievable powder white sand. We had a swim up room - this was decadent - and Carlos our personal Butler was always around checking in on us providing us with beach towels drinks, making our dinner reservations as soon as we arrived - no line ups no fr [... read more]ustration - it was simply GLORIOUS !!!- They love us Canadians - be sure to always tip - they depend on us for their liveleyhood. Sanctuary White Sands: Resort ok

Rooms ok service was poor to far from the airport for what you got didn't get the room we payed for West jet poor service weather was good nothing around the hotel workers all ways expected tips. In general clean resort

Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Summer Vacation

Rooms, Pool, Beach and facilities were excellent. Super clean, well kept, and the staff was friendly and attentive. On the downside, there were tons of mosquitoes and the hotel is super stingy with towels. Food was ok, but it’s Cuba so we didn’t expect much.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Top notch resort!

First class service from the moment we stepped off the bus. Greeted with hot towels to freshen up and lovely iced beverage. Our butler for the week introduced himself”Carlos” and took us on a tour of the resort then led us to our suite. He took us inside the suite and explained all we needed to know. Fresh bottled water every night placed on the desk. It was just unbelievable how pampered we were. The food was really nice. Everything was cooked in light oils nothing too heavy fresh fish, pork beef. Everything was so flavorful There’s a lovely little lunch place on your way out to the oceanfront that we would have lunch at every day and the menu changes every day. The drinks are really good there and then right on down towards the beach, there’s another little bar! I have to say the best espresso martinis ever are made at The lobby bar Entertainment most nights in the lobby bar area. . Got to know quite a few staff members by name over the week and every one of them are so happy to be there and are just kindhearted lovely people! The Cuban people that work in these resorts, don’t make a lot of money and they really do depend on your tips so please when you go to these places, be sure to be generous. We are definitely going back again this year!

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Hotel Review

It’s a newer hotel, don’t have any issues with cleanliness. The rooms are clean and well kept. Pools are amazing and clean. The only thing that I had issues with is the water, the hot water in the shower room was not working properly even when we moved to a different room. The food as well was not good and we all know that Cuba has issues with food supply but eating the same food for 8 days is very bad as we got sick. Melia Costa Rey: Stayed at the Level, not sure if we'll return

If you're new to the resort, take a downloaded map of the hotel with you as they don't provide a map whatsoever. There's a large map at the counter that you can take a picture of. After day 2 or 3, you'll get the hang of the layout. We stayed at the Level which has a few perks such as food choices. We arrived around lunchtime, so we went to the family side buffet as the check in person at the Level side told us that all the Level snack bar had were sandwiches which was totally incorrect. Let's  [... read more]just say that it was our first and only time getting food from the family side buffet. The line ups for omelets, fish, meat, etc were long. We were surprised how small the buffet area was for the family side. The next day we checked out the menu at the Level snack bar. WOW!! So many choices and we were never disappointed. We had cheeseburgers, poutine fries, greek salad, pizza and so many other yummy meals. Be prepared to smell and inhale cigarette smoke at the 24 hour snack bar. There are a few open sections of the walls which helps the wind flow however you can clearly smell the smoke. Great for smokers but a turn off for non-smokers. Smokers had the freedom to light up anywhere they wanted to in the main lobby as well. This is the main reason that we'll probably not return to MCR. The Level had an awesome Cuban Day buffet in the Level restaurant Cape Neo. We ate eggs benedict every morning. They were good but be prepared for inconsistently cooked eggs. The whites were either too runny or the yolks were overcooked. We ate supper at the Level Cape Neo three evenings. The menu never changed unfortunately so we looked forward to having supper at the a la cartes for the other four evenings. No complaints for the a la cartes. The staff and food were amazing. To sum up the food, I don't think we would have been happy eating breakfast and lunch at the family side for the entire week. The upcharge for the Level was $1,200.00 for the two of us which was somewhat worth it. The Level lounge was ok, a bit boring at times. I wouldn't say that the drinks were outstanding. The bartenders were friendly and excited to serve at the Level lounge and at the Level beach bar (Buddy's bar). The main lobby had more going on however the wait time to get served at the bar was ridiculous. People butting in line, bartenders not paying attention to people who were there first. I didn't seem like think they had table service. The Sports bar is extremely small with zero bar service. I had gone into the Cigar bar for a margarita as someone in the FB group said that was the best place to order one. The bartender insisted that I buy a cigar and smoke it in order for him to make me a margarita. I told him that I didn't smoke however he insisted a second time. I couldn't believe it. The bartender had a bit of a pissy attitude but I finally got a margarita. It was barely drinkable and not worth the hassling. All the bars were intermittently out of ice throughout the week. The Level side always had cold 'Three Horses' beer in the can and Buddy would send out his bar helper to the beach to get drink orders from the Level guests. The main lobby never had champagne however the Level lounge always had some. Be aware that the bars tend to close 15 to 30 minutes sooner that the displayed time. There wasn't enough shaded seating by the Level side pool. I think there were 6 or 8 wooden bed loungers which were reserved with towels before 6:00am. It was extremely windy at the beach so sitting in a shaded bed lounger by the pool would have been nice but it was impossible. The hotel should install some umbrellas to provide shade for the guests that sit in the regular lounge chairs. If it's super windy at the beach, sit in the back row by the dunes as it really makes a difference. There are no washrooms close to the beach on either the Level or the family side. For the Level side, the washrooms are between the 24 hour snack bar and Cape Neo or at the Level lounge or you can go to your room. For the family side, the closest public washroom is at the 24 hour snack bar. My husband said that the urinals were plugged and the urine smell was disgusting. The ladies washroom was half decent with multiple stalls. Would we return? If the price was good and the Level upgrade charge wasn't ridiculous, we might. We prefer the resort next door as they have strict rules on where people can smoke. The beach palapas are separated by no smoking and smoking allowed. They offer table service in the main lobby.

Melia Cayo Coco: RELAX RELAX RELAX

4 times at the MELIA CAYO COCO, hotel is well kept, food is good and staff is great. Ground’s keeper keep the areas clean and neat. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The beach is amazing. We will be returning.
