Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Bahia Principe LaRomana
Great location after a 80 minute ride from Punta Cana airport. Beautiful property, everything
close by. Helpful and friendly staff, Buffet and the A La Carte restaurants were also very good. Pool by the beach was a hit with the swim up bar. The only drawback was the sea…(unfortunately a river runs into the bay and turns the water murky.) More like a lake. Of All in all, I would recommend this hotel, but not for the sea.
Just being honest…

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Great Last Minute Trip
We are just home from our 4th stay at the Bahia Principe Grand Samana (formerly Luxury). It is a small resort with great customer service, gorgeous views and comfortable accomodations. Some of the services were not available being at the start of the season, i.e. limited bars, entertainment and restaurants but we knew that when we booked and it did not affect our enjoyment. We had a very relaxing week and would highly recommend.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Fantastic resort
Great resort, great food and entertainment, very clean and maintained, nice friendly staff, not the best beach front, and its very nice for families but not for couples or singles, its very spread out so lots of walking to see things, no adult night life except a sports bar, I score a good 8

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Amazing time away
My friend and I recently returned from the Dominican and stayed at the Bahia Priciple Punta Cana Grand this is a beautiful resort with many things to see and do for the young and old lots of kids events, adult activities and entertainment many pools restaurants shopping and dining for everyone...
Or the resort is perfect for relaxation on the beach, or in the lobby atrium or outdoors the grounds are impeccable and well maintained by the many staff.
Checking Desk:
Sandra was amazing she was fa[... read more]st efficient booked my friend and I side by side in our Villas she has great customer service a beautiful smile and very helpful thank you Sandra for making our vacation very memorable.
Restaurant;
If you're going to the Bougainvillea Restaurant please reach out to Randy and Oliver, both these gentelmen l have to say are certainly the best! Top notch service, so respectful, also Ramona and Mayb all 4 of these servers have excellent customer service and skills they all are extremely attentive, friendly, kind and treated us so special. We have memories for a lifetime and will ge back to visit you all again thank you so very much for your hard work.
If you stop by the Spa ask for Christina she is so professional and attentive when doing your treatment she is also very talented in hair so if you want to get dolled up book an appointment with her you won't be disappointed.
Guest Services:
If you're at Guest Services a huge shout out to Delvina who does your bookings for all your à la carte menus she is so sweet very attentive excellent customer service very kind lady also I'd like to pay a huge thanks to Miguel who is extremely helpful has excellent customer service if you ever have an issue Miguel's your man to go to he will help you out he's truly a gentleman kind and considerate and can't thank him enough. All the staff who work on the resort from house cleaning, maintenance of the pools restaurants and gardens, the staff at the bars, restaurants and shops, bell hops and trolley drivers all go above and beyond to maintain the resort
We had previously stayed at a Bahai Principe resort in the Dominican Republic. I enjoyed it so much, that when I looked to traveling elsewhere, I intentionally looked for a Bahai Principe resort. I chose to stay at the luxury Akumal and was glad I did! I enjoyed how spacious the property was. I like the a la carte choices, tho I recommend booking them in advance on the Bahai Principe app as spots get taken very quickly. All staff were cheerful and helpful. The buffet was very good and recommen[... read more]d waiting for staff to cook food fresh. The beach was pretty but rocky and waters rough, so I preferred to swim in the pools. The rooms were nice and beds comfortable, although the rooms are dated, I understand they are to be renovated soon. Shuttles run frequently to take you around the resort or to restaurants and other Bahai resorts.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Another wonderful holiday
We had to change our destination the day before we were to leave due to Hurricane Melissa -we decided on Sian Kaan for our fourth visit because we really like it there. I booked a penthouse room and it was lovely. we would go up on the roof in the afternoon to read and finish our drinks-my husband enjoyed the jacuzzi up there too. Luis of Nexustours greeted us at the airport and got us into a van for our ride to the hotel, check in was fast and easy for us -then off to ceynote bar for something [... read more]to eat and drink. Breakfast was at the buffet or we would go to over to the Akumal hotel for their breakfast and lunch buffet- very large buffet with lots of choices. Manuel and his team at the Akumal were awesome to us, remembering our names and our drinks too. We went to the Don Pablo restaurant for dinner one evening and Geronimo our waiter took wonderful care of us there. Our last night there we always try and got to the Alux restaurant and had Roque as our waiter- he was also wonderful to us and we enjoyed every bite.
The entertainment was really great and we had no trouble getting a seat at all- the waitresses out there were all really really good and never forgot our drink orders.
We would either read by the pool or most often would go to the private beach for Sian Kaan by trolley and spend the day there- you definitely need water shoes for swimming there. The beach has its own bar and a seating area with palapas - lots of space for everyone and we didnt have any problem finding chairs to lay on.
My only complaint at all would be that our last day there we were on the beach and everyone was reading when a group of six plopped themselves down and started blasting music and ordering shots at the bar. I like to party as much as anyone but when I go to the beach and its the quiet one- I'm quiet and reading. The party beach was down further and it was too bad they didn't go there- the wristbands they had were orange and when I asked the bartender what hotel they were at he said he had no idea. That was the only con of the whole trip but I'm sure they just arrived and maybe didn't realise that the party beach was further down, but still you should be aware of other people on the beach and their comfort.
I highly recommend the Sian Kaan and especially to people with limited mobility as the resort itself is smaller and everything is accessible to people- there was even a woman with a scooter there.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Not that great
Gave great American dollar tip to room service workers and everything was done poorly. Broken glass left in my jacuzzi for almost 48hours 2 days. Fridge was filled at the very minimum was only given two shots of liquor on 8 days inside my fridge and again gave great tips to the workers in American dollar. Workers at the hacienda where the souvenir shops are, they have bad attitudes if you don’t buy anything and prices have gone up X3 even the workers had commented saying please give me a chance [... read more]to rip you off. Management at Saab Kian was also terrible in the resort Luis the manager of Saab Kian struggled to get me 1 reservation in the restaurants and it had to get escalated all the way to the managers level because the resort was not able to book me at any restaurants at all. Trip central had failed to advise me I needed to book online the restaurant reservations ahead of time. I was not able to go to restaurants with my group of family because of this and Bahía Príncipe did nothing to help about that.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Disappointing
We are avid Bahia Principe travellers. We have visited only BP hotels in DR and Mexico, and this was our 7th time, and likely our last (at least just in DR). Every time in the last 10 years of coming to these hotels, we have had room problems but this stay took the cake.
We arrived around midnight from our late trip. Upon arrival our room was on first floor. We noted it looked new and updated but soon learned there was no air conditioning, the patio door didn't lock, and the sink didn't drain[... read more], and safe didn't work. We called several times and we're told someone would come, no one came. I ended up walking halfway up the road until I caught a trolley and was taken to front desk. By now it was 2am. We received a new room from Francesco. He was the only person who helped us. We moved everything including our two children to the other room.
3 days in that room, around 10pm we noticed a leak coming from bathroom ceiling... It picked up and started to come through multiple spots and then the light! We called and maintenance came and said we needed a new room. Went back to front desk and saw Francesco. He said only one room left on resort. We packed up everything and our kids and moved by 12/1am. Upon arrival to new room we had a sink that didn't drain and no hot water. My husband went to front desk to complain the next day and it was fixed.
To top this off... Every single morning there is a gang of staff that hang around the lobby and try to sell services and privilege club, spa, photos etc. We spoke with them and explained we weren't interested and why, but continued to be asked and approached the whole trip. On the 3rd time, the man explained it's his job and he will keep doing it because he has a family to feed. Yes I get that, but when the answer is no.. that's not going to change because you keep at us everyday. It was excessive.
On the Thursday they had vendors there at all the walkways leading up to the lobby. It was impossible to get through without blatantly ignoring and going out of the way and around to not be stopped. Like, we just want to go on vacation to relax... This doesn't help! If we want to shop we can go on excursions or go to the village. Or let us approach you!
The buffet. The quality has decreased quite significantly over the years. The ladies at the door don't really stop anyone to control people coming into tables, so most of the time you seat yourself. The servers were only really attentive like 50% of the time. Eventually by the end of the trip I got my own family their water and glasses and cutlery. I would say - the men were much better at greeting us, being positive and happy, and ensuring our tables were cleared off and that we had drinks. Typically the women were slow and rarely responded in time. The quality of the food wasn't that well received. Alot of options but weren't really great options. For example: pureed pumpkin for breakfast/lunch. Huh? The pancakes were always hard - why?? And the scrambled eggs were awful.. they never tasted right. The sheer amount of people and lack of fans/air conditioning made this place a complete sweat box. To be honest I was glad to get home so that I didn't have to go to that buffet any longer.
Also: beware of being upsold by your airline for the bavaro adventure park - we were promised lots and were super disappointed with the day, and paid over $400 for it for 4 of us. When we got back my husband went to talk to the sales rep and she was long gone.
In addition to this we went several days without towels as we were told they didn't have any at the pool. Then we finally got some 3rd day in and we held onto them the whole trip.
My daughter had a scheduled hair appointment at the little spa by the pool. When my family got there, there was 3 employees arguing in Spanish. They then began braiding my daughter's hair and continued to argue well into the hour. My daughter wanted my husband to stay but eventually they stopped and she was okay.
Lastly, my daughter fell through a grate at the pool in the waterpark. We informed the lifeguard. I watched him go speak to 4 staff members who were sitting and talking. No one did anything about it. My husband put a lounger over it so no other children would get hurt. We were there til about 6 and no one had come to fix it.
What went well; the pool staff, the pool entertainment, the drinks, the hotel cleaning staff, the trolleys, and the truck (snack bar) was great.
Overall we will not be returning to this resort ever again. We have had much better experiences at other BP resorts and will consider possibly now changing it up.
I loved my stay here. The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean, beautiful amenities and amazing beach! The food was fantastic. Lots of fun activities during the day and the evening too. I can’t wait to come back!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great customer service
Many people comment on the great service at Bahia Principe Sian Kaan and I couldn’t agree more. Just came back from our 6th visit. We had a medical issue that flared up and requested assistance from Guest Services. Camilla helped tremendously. Within a few hours she had our room moved from the 3rd floor to the ground floor in the same building. Luggage was moved by staff. She arranged a trolley to take us for dinner at Don Pablo. She checked on us numerous times throughout the week. She [... read more]is a very compassionate person and a real asset to SK.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great week getaway !!
Just returned from a relaxing week in paradise. Bahia Principe El Portillo did not disappoint. Beautiful beach, good food, great staff and beautiful grounds. We did have some issues arranging AlaCarte dinners but managed to get 4 booked for a group of 10 people. Rooms were spacious but a little tired. Could use some spicing up. 4th time at this resort and will go back.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Nice resort
The staff go out of their way to make your stay special. The food is great, pools and beaches splendid. Transportation throughout the resort is very dependable and easily accessible. We love this resort and the quiet atmosphere in the sian Kaan section with a more livelier vibe at the other 3 resorts we have access to.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Not a five star
The rooms were very dated and the customer service was not the greatest. I had to go back multiple times to have my room switched to one that was ground level and even though we had booked double beds, we did not get double beds and each time we went back, it was all you have to come back to confirm. Oh, you’ve come back to confirm it seems like there was some kind of language barrier or they just didn’t wanna give us a room on the ground level we had to ask for housekeeping multiple times, but [... read more]once we started leaving a few dollars tip, then everybody was showing interest in servicing us so really it’s I would say The the bars in the restaurant were OK. I honestly would say that the food at the buffet was better at the à la cart. The à la cart had extremely poor service. Nobody comes to check to say hey is everything OK? One day I had a choking episode and even at that they were not very attentive just different things like that. The fun part was the pool too bad that that there is no evening or night swim that would’ve made it better. The beds were very comfortable and once we had a tipped the housekeeper and the person that fills the bar fridge thing stuck to get a little bit better overall not bad would’ve appreciated a little better customer service and maybe a less outdated room.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Must Visit
Upon arrival I was excited to begin my vacation with my group of friends. The resort is beautiful, huge, and well maintained. The package we got Included a tour in the town to the market, special dining experiences in two restaurants for two nights during the stay. There is a club there but I wish the music had variety. Overall,[... read more] it was a great place to be and the staffs made it welcoming. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Nice resort.
Very well kept. Lots of transportation to get around. Food good. Unfortunately we could not get an alacartes. Not the best beach. Lots of pool selection. . All and all ok.Friendly staff. Our shower could use a makeover. Was not impressed with the fogging right outside of our ground floor balcony. No warning.
