Ocean Maya Royale: Great Resort!

Great Staff, facilities, and overall service. Very well maintained and tidy. We were quite pleased with our entire stay. I would say that we got very good value for the quality of the resort. The sand on the beach was amazing. The lounge chair availability was very good. Patrons were all very respectable.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Amazing stay at Ocean Blue Punta Cana

The hotel and grounds were very well kept, everything was clean and fresh. Nice beach, clean water and 2 large pools! Loved that a number of a la carte restaurants didn’t require reservations and the food was excellent - the Mexican and Japanese were our favourite! We also appreciated being able to catch our football games at the sports bar. I would recommend taking a private transfer vs the provided transportation as it was a bit of a drive.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Wonderful Experience every time ❤️

Rooms are beautiful and staff very attentive. We enjoyed the restaurants. Loved the pools especially when they had the foam party! Stunning views and the entertainment. We ave been before and will likely stay again. Thank you Oceans resort staff for a wonderful vacation.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Great resort

We really enjoyed our time here. The food was surprisingly really good. We liked the French restaurant the best - the rack of lamb was tender and tasty.The Japanese restaurant put on a good show, however it all tasted the same, like soya sauce so not a hit in our family. The buffets were great - the main buffet was the only spot where we found service was a little slower. As the bars and cafe bar (incredible baristas) were quick and super engaging with their service. The tips and cues we received were amazing, especially for people in our family who were injured. The guy who led archery was super patient and a trooper with the bad shots in our family. We loved the rooms. Beds were comfy, clean, the double showers great and hot. The views were incredible and the balcony was super comfortable. The room was little a cold but we dealt with it. We loved the beach and had a great time on it. The waves were fun to play in and even though the beach wasn’t super long, we were still able to get in our 15k plus steps a day. Recommend for sure. The family areas were busier so we stayed more often in the adults only section and it was a great place to relax and if you wanted, to party as well. The only part that made us mad was the timeshare presentation. They wouldn’t let us eat lunch, or think about it (it’s a lot of money to make a quick decision) and we left with nothing after they had held us there for 3 HOURS. Not impressed. Then they got all pissy with us when we walked away. No one reached out to us the next day to see if we had made a decision. Horrible business decision by them as we would have bought something. Great resort but skip the presentation.

Great resort with Great food. The work they have done with the beach is amazing. Been here 3 times and the beach is improved. Buffet is fantastic always Great food to eat. The entertainment personal have been replaced and in my opinion needs work, but thay are new so to be expected.

Ocean Maya Royale: Great Vacation

This was our first time at this resort, and will definitely be going back. The people and service were amazing. The food was really good with a good selection in the buffet and the a la Carte were also good. Didn't eat at the Japanese so can't comment. The beach is a bit different but still nice and you can walk quite a way in either direction (do the lagoon tour). The grounds are very well kept and everywhere is spotlessly clean. The only thing I didn't like was having to line up for the ala  [... read more]Carte restaurants, its first come first serve unless you pay extra for "Privilege", I would rather be able to book like you do at most resorts. For the Japanese you had to line up at 5:45 to book the teppanyaki for that day.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great resort

Beach was beautiful. The food was really good. Coffee bar was amazing! Our balcony jacuzzi didn’t work nor did they try to fix it or resolve the situation.. so it was a bath not a jacuzzi… the entertainment was weak but the drinks were good.

Ocean Maya Royale: Still love it!

This was my fourth stay at the Ocean Maya Royal I continue to return for several reasons. The resort has a lovely lay out. I prefer the smaller individual buildings with about 8 rooms per building, only two floors high. The grounds are kept well maintained and you will often see workers keeping things tidy and maintained. As an adults only resort I prefer it. You can choose between the younger crowd busier activity pool or the quieter one. There is a vendor on site several days a week  [... read more]plus the gift shop which means if you want a few souvenirs you don't have to go into Playa to go shopping. Having a choice of restaurants is really nice. The buffet is great with lots of good choices. This trip the restaurant down by the pool has changed from a daily buffet to a menu focus. It make sense as there was probably a tremendous amount of waste keeping all that food out all day. This restaurant is the Mexican one and I have to say that for both lunch and dinner, different menu at dinner, the food was really good, tasty and fresh. We ate lunch there almost every day of our 10 day visit. The beach is nice at this resort, though walk a little further south on the beach towards town and you will notice what the beach actually looks like when the resorts aren't cleaning it up every day. There is still an on the beach massage business, I've gone twice two years ago and once again this past trip. The therapists are good and it's nice to have a massage on the beach. Rates are now $70 USD for a 1 hour relaxation massage and $85 for a Swedish massage, about half of what they charge at the spa at the resort. One small downside is that it now costs about $33 USD to get a cab into Playa del Carmen from the resort, one way. As a Canadian that was too expensive to just go walk down 5th Ave again. Several staff members were still there from my visit 2 years ago. A shout out to Lydia and Martin in the buffet and Mexican restaurant for being so great! Overall I'm still happy with the resort and would not hesitate to recommend it to someone looking for an adults only, smaller resort with good food.

Ocean El Faro: Wonderful Resort!

The resort exceeded all expectations especially for small children. Our grandkids loved the water park and lazy river. The adults were very impressed with the cuisine and drink selection in the lobby bar. The staff were friendly and attentive. We would definitely recommend the resort!

Ocean El Faro: Amazing resort and great people

Another great vacation at Ocean El Faro/El Beso. This was our second trip here and it was just as good if not better. The food was great and the drinks were equally as good. There is a great variety of restaurants, bars and pools to visit on the resort.I would definatley consider this resort if you are visiting the DR!

Ocean Maya Royale: Great resort!

This resort was great! Check in was at 3pm so we recommend bringing summer clothes while you wait if you arrive early and coming from a colder place. Check in was smooth with the staff there and drinks were provided right away! You also get help with luggage after the room is available but we just went by ourselves. Rooms were cleaned every day but you should leave the room tag outside if they aren’t cleaning it at their usual time; we had asked them to come back later every day since they c [... read more]ame around 8:30am every day while we were getting ready for the day. Linens are new every 3 days so keep that in mind but they’ll make the bed still. Mini fridge and coffee is restocked every day; they provide pop, beer and water in the fridge. Room service is available from 11am-10pm for free and after then is a charge. Bathroom supplies are restocked if you take or use them as well. Bathroom was clean but our shower had a small leak which didn’t bother us. There was a free safe to use. The bars were quick and the bartenders are all super friendly and hilarious. Shoutout to Cocktail Captain and Francisco! The pools are great, there’s one that’s chill and the other with activities and music every day. The bridge is being rebuilt but luckily we got to walk across it on our first day. The beach was decent, the ocean water was much warmer than the pools but a bit of seaweed build up on the shore and some smell but not unbearable. The ocean wasn’t super popular to swim in given the wind and yellow/red flags most days but we still went in. Just be aware that red flags may mean current conditions and life forms like jellyfish that have stung people during our time there. But the beach has a lot of options to sit, from tree huts to hammocks to being right in the sun by the walking deck (not by the shore) and under sun covers which ARE in front of the shore. Jet ski rentals were easy to book and it was super fun! There were free water activities you could book as well or extra ones but we didn’t do anything besides paid for jet skis. Lots of activities every day and there’s a schedule on their app but the entertainment/blue team also informs us as they walk around and get to know you and there’s a schedule board by the Mexican restaurant as well. The entertainment team are incredible at their jobs. Shoutout to Oswyn, Viri, Moses, and Kendall! We played a ton of beach and pool volleyball, aquafit/aqua aerobics, challenges and games, artsy activities, etc. every day! The food is pretty good! We aren’t picky people but there’s variety and restaurant options. The hibachi restaurant was the only one you had to book a reservation for and we’d recommend going around 5:30pm to stand in line before they open at 5:45pm. They’re closed Wednesdays. The other restaurants are great though, and the buffet has different food themed nights throughout the week but pretty standard during breakfast and lunch. There’s also Mike’s Cafe which is open most of the time with great cafe/snack options which was nice for our early excursion day and our last day getting ready for our check out and chiller nights/days. There’s also an ice cream place right by the pools open every day. The nightlife didn’t really exist in terms of partying as the crowd wasn’t as young as we were for the first few days. Highly recommend making some friends there and inviting them to night events which we ended up doing which made it a bit better. They also have pool/8 ball, ping pong and air hockey available to play. There’s 2 resorts close to ours on both sides and both have access to our shoreline and deck and have kids/families so keep that in mind if you’re looking for a full on adults only. They don’t really access the resort itself or anything though. The resort itself is on the small-mid size resort but we loved it because we didn’t have to walk too far to reach food and bar options and our room. Overall, we loved it.

Ocean Coral Spring: Meh (would only recommend if you have young children)

Cons The AC in the room gave us issues the entire time One of the beds in my room were very old and made so much noise. The first two days the water pipes in the room were pipping hot until maintenance fixed it Towel all week in the room were hard to come by, I had to call almost night for towels so we could shower even after housekeeping came and leaving a tip. Ocean Blue and Sand: Yes, a great place

We were 10 of us just came back. Very nice place with no shortage for anything. Plenty of food, drinks , right size crowd while there , clean rooms , no lineups and ample and friendly staff to cater. Restaurants were wonderful, snack bar was awesome, nothing to beat the coffee shop and Ice cream parlour. Beach and poolside events were well hosted by talented staff with prizes for every game. MJ show was better than the one in Vegas! Nightclub was fantastic. DJ was a blast. we were there every  [... read more]single night. Good beach and taken good care to clean out the weeds. Overall we were very pleased with the resort and how it is managed. Special mention Hilary and Ariel for superb customer experience!

Ocean Coral Spring: Excellent, clean friendly resort

The hotel was in excellent condition, very clean all the employees are so welcoming and friendly. The hospitality was overwhelming. The foods were amazing, so much to choose from the coffee was excellent! The presentation of the foods at the alacart restaurants were great! Overall a great fun resort!

The hotel is almost clean, the attitude of the staff is very good, the hospitality is very good, the food is very repetitive and the variety of food is low, the drinks and cocktails are excellent, the water in the pool is not clean and the water is dark most of the days and there is a lot of hair inside, good Wi-Fi. The goods in the store inside the hotel were expensive, the restaurants inside the hotel were extremely poor, and the hotel programs were very poor. The hotel is almost clean, the staff's attitude is very good, the hospitality is very good, the food was very repetitive, the drinks and cocktails are excellent, the pool water is not very clean, good Wi-Fi, the store items inside the hotel are expensive, the restaurants inside the hotel are extremely poor.

Ocean El Faro: Not More Than a 3*

- Property is large so will not be good for travelers with limited mobility. - Beach is full of seaweed, and rocks in certain areas in the ocean. You won't know they're there until it's too late. - Food is acceptable, same thing everyday, no theme nights. Reservation for À la Carte restaurants is a challenge and can only be done the day of within a restricted time. No advance reservation can be done in one shot for the duration of your stay. Reserving through the app is a great idea, but why s [... read more]et time and other restrictions? Travelers are on vacation and shouldn't have to be stressed by these unnecessary limitations. - Service is extremely slow, borderline disrespectful with no smiles in sight. Calls for housekeeping or repairs to your room take the whole day after multiple calls to the front desk. The maid thinks the "Please Make Up Room" means "Please Do Not Disturb". If you're Asian, you're ignored. Remember, tips are earned and not owed. - The thermostat in our room didn't work, and the TV turned on by itself at high volume. We had to unplug the TV, and wait for hours to get someone to come and fix these. - Floaties can be pumped at the lazy river at no cost, but an Asian man was told there's a charge to pump a few of his children's floaties. NOT COOL!!

Ocean Coral Spring: Wonderful Escape

We stayed at Ocean Coral Springs July 1-8. I have to say this resort was wonderful. We stayed in a Swim up room that was clean and in a perfect location. Very spacious and comfortable beds.Daily housekeeping provided.We had full running AC, and hot water our whole stay. Only downfall was WIFI connection was in and out.The beach is small and rocky.Main pool was large with lots of room for everyone,and the Blue Team was great entertainment during the day. We just returned from the resort.The resort grounds are well kept also the pools. Coleen our agent requested 2 beds, but on our arrival we had king side bed. We did raise our concerns and the did find 2 beds room.The room was a good size .The bathroom was nice and clean ,air condition worked well.But you have no place to hang your clothes .The safe was hard to work it was old you had to push the buttons few times before it worked.We had no telephone for 3days.The balcony door was closed by a big [... read more] pin, no door handles at all.The big mirror in the room was marked badly.We did used the desk for our clothes. We left the room for the beach around10 AM returning around 3PM most of the time I had to look for made to clean the room. Water for drinking we had ask always to give us more. The restaurant in the resorts were very good, good choise. On other hand the buffet by the beach was almost the same food for2 weeks.The main buffet was the same.When you like to have egg or omelette there were lines you had to wait. For dinners not to much choice.The beach was very nice ,warm water enough umbrellas if you got to the beach early.The social life is excellent for people.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Review

There is no actual beach and the sea was full of seaweeds, I knew there are seaweeds, but did not expect that much. Pools were fine, but I prefer sea, pools I have in Canada. Not having a beach impacted my experience. I will say "Yes" to would you recommend this hotel to a friend, but will make sure they clearly understand NO BEACH.
