Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Amazing resort!!!!!

The place was beautiful, all the staff was amazing, the room was always cleaned so nicely, food was good, the beach was stunning. All the staff had a smile on there face and was happy to serve you, extra thank you to josé Luis and daykel Headley for making my stay so much better, the drinks were made to perfection

Hotel Bella Costa: Amazing 2 week stay

We can not find anything wrong with this resort as it was our 19th time going there. They have made it more accessible for people with disabilities. I really hope they make some of the rooms as in bathrooms more accessible for disability people example walk in showers. We took my shower stool with us and it worked. I know people say there is no food in Cuba well we totally disagree with that statement. There is so much great food you can’t go hungry or if you do you are too fussy. Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Catfished by Sunwing

What a dump! The place is falling apart right before your eyes. Every single night that my son and I were there, the a la carte restaurants were “fully booked”. During Easter long weekend when the price to travel was $1500 each per person, YOU WOULD THINK THAT THIS RESORT THAT WAS BARELY AT CAPACITY COULD ACCOMMODATE US ON AT LEAST ONNNNNNNE OF OUR NIGHTS WITH A PROPER MEAL!!! NOPE!!! I’m not kidding when I say I starved while we were there. My son was ok with the buffet because he’s only little [... read more]. Hey, at least I’m skinny again! (Not even laughing or joking). What a disaster! Avoid avoid avoid! Go to Holguin or Cayo Coco if you’re desperate for Cuba. Everything about this trip sucked. NOBODY was having a good time. Not even the drunk man who walked through poo water in the leaky washroom then walked right through the kiddie pool! That guy was so unhappy! Ha!

Iberostar Coral Ensenachos: Another awesome stay at the Coral Ensenachos

Our third consecutive year staying two weeks at the Coral. As expected the facilities are a little dated, but they are well maintained and very clean. The beach is spectacular and with the added shade, there is no issues with reserving beach chairs or needed to be there early. The staff are amazing, remembering your preferences and happy to say hi and ensure that you enjoying your stay. The resort is pretty quiet and there are a lot of returning guests, it’s becoming our Cubian spring home.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Fantastic. Exceeded expectations

Having being in Cuba a number of times this was our best experience so far. The qaintness of this resort means everything was minutes away. Beach room and food. The pool is probably a bit small if it was full. Beach is great and short walk to really shallow and sandy spot. Lots of kite boarders on right beach provided entertainment. Fresh fish cooked at meals. Simple food but fresh and delicious. Great value vacation.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: 3.5 Star at best…,

Disappointed with this resort. Food was boring and pretty much the same every day at the buffet… the a la cartes take food from the buffet.. then try and sell you over priced bottles of wine… when we declined and just asked for house wine at 2 of the a la cartes we were not served any wine at all..customer service depended on how much you tipped…pool was disgusting between the hair and bird poop…we will not be going back unfortunately..:

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Amazing Resort

Best experience in this hotel, beach, staff, exelent food as well,best beach , big complain on Sunwing Flight, always delay, broken languages, no one is carrie responsibility of delay both ways, will never go with Sunwing Flight again and highly Recommend everyone don't take Sunwing Company for flight anywhere, Horible Company, . Cuba best vacation. We will go back next year same Hotel but never using Sunwing again.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Third visit to Iberostar Coral Holquin

As a solo traveler this resort is a home away from home. The resort is beautiful, clean, comfortable and important to me, safe and welcoming. The staff are kind, caring and welcome you as family, you are family. There are fun events to attend, great excursions and activities at the pool. Speaking of the pool...it is the best, add in Carlos and there is nothing better. The butler staff would put the finest in the world to shame. I will go back every chance I get!!!!!

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Amazing Resort

This hotel has a beautiful property. There is plenty of lush gardens and palm trees. The rooms are very clean and the service is great. Food was very good in most restaurants, especially the gourmet restaurant in the Dominicana resort next door. The pools are clean and the beach is kept very clean as well.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Good and Bad

We loved the location, loved the view, thought it was well laid out. we liked the pools and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food quality seemed ok, not as good as some other Cuban vacations i have been on, but since i have heard from other who were staying at other locations our food was poor. Keeping food safe was not the focus on this location. Some foods that should have been kept warm were not, some that should have been cold were not. My son daughter in law and myself [... read more] all got food poisoning. I did not spend one day enjoying the resort and even were at the point of needing intravenous. No one from hotel or Sunwing spoke to us on our issues.

Hotel Bella Costa: I had a great week long stay here

The only thing I was very disappointed with at this resort was the bathrooms. The rooms had decent washroom facilities but around pool, bars, and lobby they were terrible. No locks on doors, no toilet seats, constantly out of toilet paper and paper towels to dry hands, hand blowers rarely worked and hand soap missing. Very unhygienic. Resort could use some renovations to make it safe for guests with mobility issues. Also could use a painting on the outside.

Iberostar Selection Cancun: Real nice place

spent week in april at this resort, place was very clean ,staff continuously cleaning, pool awesome , food was good and there was lots of it , drinks very good and just about anything you can imagine , staff very helpful and friendly. The only downside for me ,being a smoker, was just one smoking area on entire resort . But overall would highly recommend this resort . Neil

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Relaxed in Canada

Beautiful resort and kept very clean. The beach was absolutely stunning, and the pool area was very nice as well. However the pool deck was VERY slippery. I was very pleased with my room. The food…well we know people don’t go to Cuba for the cuisine lol The bars tend to run out of a lot of alcohol and mixes needed for drinks. This was my first trip to Cuba so I didn’t know exactly what to expect and I was quite pleased with everything.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing

We stayed at the Iberostar daquarie in Cayo Guillermo amd it was an absolute unbelievable week. The food was plentiful and alot of varieties. The staff bent over backwards to make our vacation the best ever. The beach, pool, bars and restaurants lived up to our hopes and dreams.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Disappointing Trip

To be fair to the resort we had to cut our trip short due to a family emergency, so we didn’t experience all it had to offer. We knew going in there would be shortages etc, but seeing all the 4&5* reviews I chose this resort anyway. The grounds are lovely. We had a nice ocean view room with a king bed. Good water temperature and pressure for the most part. The bath towels were old and worn and they only gave hand towels every few days. We even had to ask how to get to our room. We had no idea where the buffet was, where to get beach towels or any information on booking the a La carte restaurants. Another thing that needed attention was the lack of loungers around the pools. There were very few and the ones they had were broken. They did have plenty of loungers at the beach, but the beach was incredibly windy and not comfortable to sit at. They could have brought some of those loungers up to the pool area. Food was limited, but edible. No shortage of eggs or bread, but not a lot of fruit or salad options. Coffee was TERRIBLE. I have been to Cuba twice before and the coffee was very good. You couldn’t get a hot cup of coffee (even straight out if their fancy coffee machines) and it was like a cold sludge. In terms of alcohol, they had the regular vodka, gin, rum, but the mix was very limited. They didn’t have soda water or fresh limes. Mixed cocktails were out of the question. They continually ran out of red wine as well. They also turn the water off over night. We had an early flight and we were picked up at our resort at 6:30 a.m. We were unable to shower or flush the toilet. We could only brush our teeth with the bottled water and the dribble that came out of the tap. The staff were great and very helpful.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Beautiful resort

Spent a wonderful week at the Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach. Beautiful, lush well-maintained property. Service, food, beverages were all very good. Beautiful beach, clean pool. Only issue was the music at the party pool was way too loud. We could have sat at other area's but would have missed all the pool games and entertainment.

Best aspects of this place: - Grounds: Are gorgeous. Pools are beautiful. Beach is stunning and the most beautiful I've ever seen. - It is worth the bus ride from the airport. - Rooms: Are well appointed. Housekeeping staff were very good. - Sports bar: Is pretty neat. It made for enjoyable evenings. - Staff: Are fantastic. What needs improvement for this to be a true "5 STAR" resort? (1) The check-in process is abysmal. It is inefficient and frustrating especially after a lo [... read more]ng day of travel. Staff provided only one key card & a handwritten strip of paper with the room # on it. We had to request Wifi separately, AND a towel coupon. (Did not know this while at the desk.) All check-in information should be in a package, ready for visitors upon arrival. Should also be able to book a-la-cartes upon arrival, rather than wait in line for it for an hour every afternoon. (2) Food Handling Practices. Food safety training should be conducted with those who cook food. I observed, on more than one occasion, raw chicken being handled with the same utensil as cooked chicken. Several in our group fell ill during the trip, losing 2 or more days of their vacation. (3) Food quality: I knew there were shortages before I left and I knew what I was in for as I'd been to Cuba before. I won't complain about what is served when average Cubans are starving off-resort. There was always something to eat. However, two things in this area really sucked and the hotel management has control over these: FLIES > The only night there were NOT flies all over us in the dining room was a day when there were “very important looking people” circulating around the resort. So, 5/6 nights we were fighting flies while eating. FOOD TEMPERATURE > is always questionable. Hot things aren’t hot enough, food that should be kept cold isn’t being cold enough. This goes back to food safety, but it shouldn’t be hard to increase the temperature in the buffet stands. Also, the “a la cartes” served the same food as the buffet. Why bother? Get rid of these and set up some specialty spots, like a cigar bar, music room, or games room. (3) Management of the hotel: My room smelled like sewage one day after I returned from the beach, and I came to find out later that there was a sewage backup below me the day before. Why wasn't I notified or moved? Good management would have at least left nearby room occupants a note to tell them what happened and offer to move them. The cabanas outside the pool were popular – but VERY hard to land. Unfortunately, some guests were being greedy and claiming BOTH cabanas and beach chairs with their towels, making it difficult for some to find a place to land. Management should look for a method for guests to book spots, OR they should increase the # of chairs & cabanas. More English channels, especially news. The Russian propaganda got old pretty quickly. I won't be back, but only because there are so many other places to try. I really do hope that the hotel management takes feedback seriously, it is such a beautiful place but operating at 70% of its potential. A little effort will make it so much more!!

Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus: Amazing beach

A good old hotel — very clean, though the room decor could use an update. The beach is excellent — actually, it’s my favorite in La Romana, and I’ve stayed at all the beachfront hotels in the area. As for the food, it was better during our first visit in 2023. This time, it felt a bit repetitive and not quite as good. That said, we still had another lovely vacation and are already looking forward to coming back.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Amazing Resort

This was my 2nd time to this resort. I absolutely love it!! Beautiful grounds, very clean, rooms are large and beach is amazing. The staff is very welcoming and respectful from the front desk to the gardeners and everyone in between. The entertainment staff are fantastic and made some lifelong friends and memories.
