Riu Republica: still the number one party hotel

everything was great , food, ambiance, staff & great vibe & great people. they could do a better way to make reservation at the a la carte restaurants on the resort. but most defintely its an experience that anyone should try at least once :)

Riu Palace Kukulkan: Excellent hotel

The hotel is well located with access to the beautiful walking beach to shopping and restaurants. We had an all inclusive stay and the food options and quality was impressive. The hotel staff at all times attentive & polite.

Riu Guanacaste: Good Resort

Hotel was good, grounds beautiful, public area good but me and my husband got very sick from bacteria at the resort. I find dishes and dining needs to be absolutely clean/sterile for guests. We saw at the pool bar reusable cup just got a quick rinse and reuse...the rim was not washed. I felt foods on the utensils and the plates at the buffet. We had to always asked for bottle water in our room and coffee. These items supposed to be replenish daily. I enjoy my first 3 days at the resort but  [... read more]the next 3 days plus the day we checked out we were so sick. Didn't leave our room for 3 days to go and eat. Pharmacy was closed when my husband went to see if he can get something to help us. We needed some electrolytes and stuff to help us. We made tea and had plain crackers which we forced ourselves to eat. We couldn't wait and praying to get back home safe and well. We are home now but still haven't recovered. I went to the emergency here at home. Costa Rica is beautiful and too bad we got sick. We would love to visit again and enjoy fully next time. Hoping for better experience and more cleaner place/things etc. We saw how they clean the tables and placemats for the next guests...not proper. We were horrified what we were seeing. Barely cleaning the mats thoroughly, all the garbage crumbs/foods are brushed so quickly every where and onto the chairs you have to sit on. The workers need to be checked for the way they are cleaning the dining areas. The tables are not wiped properly with care and time. This is serious and should be addressed immediately.

Riu Palace Antillas: Anittlis Aruba

Stayed there 2 years ago, clean, friendly, great staff. Not a 4 star. Carpets, lifting in hallways Our room 823 had mold in bathroom Sliding door curtains dirty Food same thing everyday Nightly entertainment very poor not many people went it was so bad

Riu Palace Macao: out of 15 times in D.R. this is the #1 top hotel weve been to

There is really nothing one can say negative, from check in, changing rooms because of my back, no fault of theirs. no line ups for anything the newly renovated place seems to run with ease, no bugs, no seaweed...super clean, service for pool drinks or dinner was impeccable. My only suggestion would be the house wine selection has much to be desired.

Riu Guanacaste: Incredible resort and vacation!

We stayed here 10 years ago and it was great. But now after all the renovations, it’s absolutely amazing. We loved everything - the grounds, the rooms, the food, the pool, the service. Overall a great family trip and the kids already want to go back. Huge thanks to our travel agent Jim for helping us out so much!

Riu Guanacaste: Beautiful surroundings, delicious food, service needs improvement

Buffet was ample and varied and delicious. Their system for waiting in line for an hour for the specialty restaurants is unfortunate. As at other resorts, they should have a sign-in policy for these restaurants. Wasting precious vacation time waiting in line from 5:00 to get a seat at 6:00 makes no sense. Note the following: 1) we requested a wake-up call to get [... read more] to an excursion: it never came to either of two rooms 2) we advised there was a dripping sound at night in our room: repairman came and said it was the fridge and moved the fridge. Next night dripping continued. A repairman came and said it was the air conditioner and that he fixed it. Dripping continued. Unclear why they couldn't get it right. Safe needed a repair: the battery was missing. It was repaired. Then the batteries fell out and it needed another repair 3) accordingly, because of the drip, I moved my room. As I packed up the first room I noticed my neck pillow was gone. I asked the front desk to look into it. They took note. I came back that night: no news. They said come back in the morning: they'd call housekeeping. I came back: no news. Finally I google translated a message to Spanish and showed it directly to the housekeeper, indicating that i would have no choice in hotel reviews but to indicate that housekeeping staff steals things at Riu Guanacaste. She communicated with others in the housekeeping staff: much animated chatter ensued and calling to others amongst themselves Eventually: my neck pillow appeared. Unclear how it had disappeared. Unclear why it was so difficult to get messages and requests to be taken seriously. Staff is very pleasant and relaxed, but either doesn't take matters too seriously or doesn't get the message in English. There should be one person on duty at front desk at all times who is proficient in English.

Riu Bambu: Not recommended

Let me start by saying i've been to this hotel several time. This trip however was possibly the worst. The rooms are old, the fridge was leaking. Ants are everywhere in the rooms. I had to change two days in. Less ants however still the same. I cannot even describe how horrible the food was. All the meat and sea food products were all over cooked. The level of service received by the service staff at the front desk and also in the dining room was beyond reproach. They were the only bright side of my trip.

Riu Palace Antillas: Great Resort

Had a great time, staff are friendly and helpful. Always clean. Was expecting more from the food, most of the food was OK, nothing to write home about. The buffet was the best option as it had a variety and changes daily. We ate there all the time as we tried several of the restaurants, either the wait was too long, or the food was not up to par (Italian restaurant is the worst). Riu Palace Antillas: Our 6th time at this amazing resort !!

Rooms have recently been redone, all views of ocean, super friendly and super clean and fresh - no damp smells. Great pool area and most amazing beach - 4 kms of white sand and crystal clear water. Food choices between Riu Antillas and Riu Palace are plentiful . Fresh fruit choices every day, steak, chicken, fish, pork, lamb, vegetarian, fresh vegetables and salads and best desserts. Wait staff is attentive and super friendly. Good house wine choices. The gym could use an overhaul - a few mis [... read more]sing free weights and often there was no paper towels for wiping equipment and no towels - so a disappointment - not maintained properly. TV's in gym did not work. but we will go back next year.

Riu Palace Macao: My new home away from home

We just returned home from 11 glorious days at Rio, Palace Macao. I have to say that this is the most beautiful resort that we have ever been to, and there have been a lot. I was so impressed with the cleanliness and the upkeep of the entire resort, including the beach. The food was more than we ever could’ve asked for and the service was amazing. We never waited more than one minute for a drink the entire stay. As far as our room goes, we had a superior junior suite which they actually upgraded us to when we arrived. Our room was a little bit musty when we first walked in, but it had not been used for a few days so had been closed up. I went to the front desk and asked them if they could spray when they cleaned the next day and they did and it made a big difference. I also highly recommend taking the moisture bags and hanging a couple in your room as it was amazing the difference they made. I loved the location of our room as well. We were in the corner tower overlooking the swim up bar pool , so we had lots to watch late afternoon when the parties began. We never attended any of the pool parties but everyone that did had a great time but we did enjoy listening to the music. I highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants an adult only wonderful vacation. We definitely will be returning as I cannot think of another resort that would give us everything that we wanted and then some.

Riu Palace Pacifico: Awesome

This hotel the best we ever stayed at. The staff are great food wonderful fresh. We met the manager because day 3 we had a terrible accident at pool. Hotel doctor was great ambulance staff hospital staff great. They even drove us back to hotel. During the worst moments of our life things went smooth. Riu Palace Costa Rica: Amazing resort

This resort is absolutely beautiful. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The beach is nice and if you walk down the beach you will see monkeys. There are vendors on the beach but they are not pushy. They are trying to make a living and the prices are incredible

Riu Santa Fe: Riu Santa Fe

This is the one Riu that we will definitely not be back. Food is the worst of all the Riu's we've been to, and we are not picky eaters. Most meats are way over cooked. Staff are Riu's usual wonderful tho. their one redeeming grace. The flies drove me crazy, flying right into my face. there are little tiny ants? flies? (I really can't tell, they're really tiny) by the droves in and around the sinks every morning. and some on the bureau also. also this is the one AI resort that we've been to [... read more] that doesn't have a lobby bar. only the sports bar is open during the day (24 hrs, like most other Rius), all other bars that's open during the day are by the pool and beach. Sports bar can get REALLY loud. This is definitely not a place to relax. will not be back.

Riu Playa Blanca: Sister Retreat

The resort is nice and super close to the airport, which makes getting there easy. It is a bit far from everything else though, so if you plan to explore more of Panama, I’d suggest staying closer to Panama City or the Caribbean side. The black sand beach is beautiful with lots of lounge chairs available. It’s a public beach, so there are a few local vendors, but they’re respectful and leave you alone once you decline. The food was a highlight — the buffet was hands down the best! Each day had a different theme with plenty of variety. The pool area was well maintained, and there was always a lifeguard on duty. The bartenders were friendly, hardworking, and kept the drinks flowing all day. The DJ at the disco was awesome! It was a fun, mature crowd, and the music mix was perfect. Overall, a great spot for a relaxing and fun sister getaway!

Riu Republica: Couldn’t be better!!

Travel agent Brenda was amazing, all communications were on time and clear, flights were on time, Riu Republic was a great resort. Cleanliness, room service, staff, parties, entertainment, food and most importantly beaches, everything was top notch and we had a time of our lives. Will definitely go there again. We were there in late October and early November 2025.

Riu Palace Las Americas: Riu Palace Las Americas

The grounds are so well kept- absolutely beautiful. Staff are all so accommodating-they treat us great especially Juan who knew exactly what drinks we liked-Ernesto,Santi and Abu at the bars a special thankyou. A little disappointed in rooms stocking of towels and toilet paper otherwise rooms very clean. We love this hotel and will return in 2026.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Amazing resort!

Everything about this hotel is amazing. Excellent service,excellent dining, beautiful grounds are kept impeccably clean. Ocean is beautiful. Staff made sure you were well taken care of. Would definitely recommend. Couldn't find one negative comment.

Riu Montego Bay: Beautiful Resort with some constructive criticism

The hotel grounds and the staff are outstanding. The lifeguards could use a little polishing up on their people skills. Rules need to be liberally applied and publicly posted. The swim up bar needs to be cleaned more often, it gets grungy and unhealthy by noon.

Riu Vallarta: Not bad

We where surprised how big the resort is Some of the staff are very nice And some still have to learn customer service Is my first time to come to the riu vallarta I normally. Go to riu jalisco Every year I go 2 times to the jalisco Thanks for you service
