Brisas Santa Lucia: Unforgettable fun!

My husband and I arrived Jan 18th to Brisas. The resort is a comfortable and lively place to be. The people who work here are impeccable, everyone made us feel welcome. The food for me and my husband was way more then we expected. Everyday was a different meal and the food was well prepared. We didn’t even need condiments, everything tasted good. The weather was mostly rainy, but that didn’t stop me and my husband from dancing in the rain even if the weather was ankle high. The beach is a bit full of algae but once you get in the water you forget it is even there. Brisas will see more of me and my family.

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: I enjoyed the resort

Most of the areas were great in the hotel. The washrooms need to be updated as the tubs are stained. 2 days in a row water leakage in the washroom - not sure where it was coming from. I did bring to the attention of the reception. Buffets are great and variety, but no taste whatsoever. I did volunteer to cook but was not allowed to go into the kitchen. Mr. Osmani did accommodate my request to cook but the chef had some reservations due to kitchen policy. I would like to go again, but wo [... read more]uld like to cook if possible.

Brisas Guardalavaca: no complaints about resort and staff

The staff , grounds and facilities are Great as per usual . I do have a few complaints but they are not directed at Trip central or the Brisas . I did not purchase the VIP package but friends of ours did . You really need to deter any travelers from purchasing such a package for CUBA 4 beer in the fridge and 2 robes is not worth the 100$ a person . On day 2 our beach towels were stolen from our deck . I do not blame the staff or Cuban people . It is our very own tourist as I heard a lot of grumbling about others stealing other tourists towels . Shame on them !!!! We paid the money as taking others peoples towels and ruining their vacations as ours was ruined was not the right thing to do .I just want to put it out there people Let's live up to our name that Canadians are good people .

Brisas Guardalavaca: Honeymoon

I have been to this hotel about 4 times and I love it there. But this time it was more special to me cause I was there on my honeymoon with my husband. And he loved there big time plus it was his very first time to a tropical island. He would go there again and to this hotel too. The service and the food was amazing.. the beach is so beautiful. Il y a une bonne variété d'excursions dont une nautique pour aller faire de l'apnée au canal blanco qui est gratuite. Les points forts sont la nourriture qui est toujours fraiche variée, avec un souci de la présentation et bonne c'est dans cet hôtel que j'ai le mieux mangé dans tout ceux que j'ai fait, a date. Il y a des repas 4 services avec soirée musicale, deux restaurant a la carte dont le Bodeguita qui est typiquement Cubain avec un décor et une cuisine recherchée et de la musique traditionnelle cubaine. On offre aussi un repas spécial de langouste($), le chef de cuisine Rafael a un réel souci de gastronomie. L'animation est le second point fort elle se glisse un peu partout en musique et en activités diverses marches matinales d'observation d'oiseau, en velo, ou en escalade vers une chute dans la montagne, elles sont gratuites.il y a de l'aquaforme du yoga et des jeux d'eau. les points faibles sont l'état des édifices et des installation matérielles qui sont vraiment déplorables voire même dangereuses. Par exemple,il manque des lumières dans une zone d'escalier. Et des marches il y en a, a vous en faire faire un réel exercice cardio,156 que j'ai compté de la plage au dernier étage(7) du pavillon le plus élevé du site, seul UN ascenseur sur 4-5 fonctionne!!! les chambres sont toujours propres grandes et avec de beaux balcons. Avec quelques rares visiteurs inopportuns.. en dernier lieu cet hotel est assez loin de la grande ville de Santiago ce qui ne facilite pas sa visite soit par des excursions , des taxis ou location de voitures qui sont couteuses.

Brisas Sierra Mar: good climat

Rooms were old and need a lot of fixing to bring it up to par. The transfer back home took way too long. 3.5 hour waiting in the lobby, no more ecces to your room. Another 4 hours on the airport , no good! Beach, service we're OK. People are nice and try to make the most of it. Food is Cuban and good

Brisas Sierra Mar: NICE PEOPLE BEAUTIFUL SCENERY

IT COULD USE SOME UPGRADES. LOSE MANAGEMENT. MUSIC GROUPS OF THE PAST ARE MISSING. THERE ARE ALWAYS SOME FOOD SHORTAGES. MUSIC IS MOSTLY TO LOUD. THE MANY DIFFERENT MUSICIANS AND MUSIC GROUPS ARE MISSING.

Brisas Santa Lucia: Exelant resort great staff

We stayed hear 4 years ago it was a good resort then and there have been some great improvements rooms and air conditioning upgrades lots of towels staff even better food was about the same I found the food good no problems that.entertainment staff interact with guest all day long they made a special cake for my mom's 84th and pampered her.the beach is ok the only thing was the garbage once your off the resort beach such a lovely place and so much garbage.local gov. This is my 3rd times at the Brisas, clean resort room excellent the staff is wonderful, the food more average than a lot of resort in Cuba. I will go back for a relaxing and wonderful week , Spanish are the best

I went with a few friends for Christmas and New Years and we had a fabulous time. Food was really good the resort and rooms.are clean. The beach was beautiful and the staff is top notch. I definitely recommend this resort as the value is great for the money.

Brisas Santa Lucia: Simple, fun resort

This was my first time in Cuba, I joined friends on a trip over the New Years Eve time frame. I found the food to be good, the service at the bar very good. The snack bar service was rude and slow. My maid was excellent in cleaning my room. HOWEVER I came home with many bites that are from BED BUGS!! Not good. In the afternoon the entertainment started the the noise volume was far too loud! Obtaining a bicycle was difficult as the attendant was often not there. I felt safe in Cuba, the disco was supposed yo he open at 1130 but often not open at all. For a 3 1/2 star resort I would say it was good but needs improvement in the entertainment section. And now I must deal with bed bug bites.

Small resort with big fun. Daily activities with great entertainment staff from pool fun to nightly shows. Food was ok with usual rice, pasta and pizza options. Get ready to relax by the ocean or pool.

Brisas Sierra Mar: December 13-20, 2017: Enjoyed the stay

Hotel was in a good shape despite the fact that it went through Hurricane Matthew . Beach on the right to the resort was covered by debris, but was improving over time. There were not many fruit in the resort's restaurant and very few fish. But meat was outstanding and in a great variety. We ordered lobster dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. Snorkeling was good only one day, other days there were waves and water was not clear. Weather was great (as always in this resort). We did cycl [... read more]ing, back horse riding, used catamaran, canoe - everything that resort offered and played all afternoons volleyball in the pool. Drinks were great (as always). What bothered us a lot was kind of black flies (or whatever it was) bites. After-bite did not work at all. I asked for vinegar in the kitchen, but they did not have any. They advise us to use rum and it finally worked. Another negative thing was a flight (Sunwing). It supposed to be a one-stop on the way to the resort and direct flight back when we purchased the package. Sunwing changed it at the last week to have one stop on the way back as well. It was a pain - added 2.5 hours to the flight time. Anyway, we enjoyed our stay as we always did i this resort.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Amazing resort in 1993

It was amazing resort in 1993, but almost 25 years was nothing done to keep it same way. Elevators don’t work, beach is full of bugs, bars are cheap. Workers are amazing, trying their best specially at Ranchon.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Amazing Location

Sierra Mar. The grounds and gardens are lovely with mature vegetation. The coffee is delicious and breakfast is good. Staff is attentive and polite. Evening entertainment is very nice and there is always music everywhere. Excursions into the Maestre Mountains are adventurous and very educating (coffee plantations, wildlife, streams and waterfalls). The only complaint I have are the many steps to climb.(I have a bad hip, ....exhausting) There are elevators and all of them are in disrepair. Brisas Santa Lucia: Worst ever

Lets start in Toronto with Sunwing and their 5 kg carry on rule. I had one carryon for 4 people only slightly overweight and they made me separate it. Okay. Then we land in Santiago and they tell everyone they must disembark. My mother is 80 and my granddaughter is 2 and this made everything very uncomfortable. Just imagine my 80 year old mother walking down stairs and across a hot tarmac. Fine. Done we get back on and apparantly we have an extra pasenger so we get to wait another hour. Done and [... read more] away we go to Camaguay. Nice landing, everything is smooth until they lose 1/2 our luggage. Now we get to wait 2 more hours while we fill out forms and try to locate our luggage tags. Sounds great no. Good thing we left early. Now for the Brisas. I have been to over 40 resorts in Cuba from 2 star to 6 star. This place shouldnt get a 1 star. I have stayed at every resort in Santa Lucia and this place is the worst. The food got boring after the second day and it never changed. But even better on the weekends the Cubans come and many of them take storage bags of food with them. They ran out of food on Saturday afternoon and wouldnt allow anyone in the Buffet. My mothers room only had hot water every other day and she had a leak right above the toilet which she complained about many times to no avail. While i was in her room fixing the toilet that didnt work i also redirected the leak so she didnt have cold water dripping on her back. The drinks were all very ho-hum. The front desk manager was probably the rudest least people person i ever met anywhere. As everywhere else in Cuba most of the staff were amazing. I hope you all get the negativity in my review, i love Cuba and will continue to travel there but Brisas is definitely on my never ever again list.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Faded Glory disappointed me

Brisas was no doubt very nice when built but I think they still use the original beds. The room is fine but even the toilet paper holders are missing and the rolls sit on the counter. Small towels only showed up at the end. You have to rent the in-room safe but that’s pretty normal although I think it’s chintzy. The elevator up to my room did not work for a day after our arrival. The elevators down to the beach never worked for th whole trip. If you have trouble with stairs  [... read more]don’t come, there are way too many. If you forget something in your room you’ll be sorry. The pool was cleaned regularly but there’s a black smudge all around it. There are lots of shade palapas and nice blue loungers but there are also a lot of broken orange ones that should be discarded. The beach has been reduced by storms and is unimpressive. The area is beautiful, the hills surrounding the property are lunch and beautiful. The food is probably the worst and most repetitive of any resort I’ve stayed in of many in Cuba and elsewhere. There are many nice staff members but there is a ton of staff cadging drinks at the bar and it’s evident that food is purloined by the quantity and quality. I have never seen this so blatantly done. The only good thing I can say is that I paid a low price but I would never return and would not recommend this place.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Place to be

I travel with my husband and kids a lot of different parts of Cuba almost all tourist places. And I always return to this place. I Just count: 9(nine) times it says by itself. Amazing places because of the people and nature which much different from other parts of Cuba and price usually in low season between 600 to 700$. But this time I pay imagine 509$ for triple occupation. For that price I can't even feet in any accommodation in Canada for weekend. Resort is very compact and clean if you sta [... read more]y in main building you will be always in the meddle of everything you need.If you stay in villas it will be 2 min walk and you have more quiet place. And one precious addition: in all Cuban resort you are usually isolated from everything, but here you will enjoy interactions for many people(locals and foreigners) and have 1km+ beton boardwalk. Do not relay on bad review which are not much just came and see. Highly recommended.
