Playa Pesquero: Great Lattes!

Great Lattes at the train bar. Helpful staff, pool and beaches were gorgeous. Cheap wifi cards. Nothing special about the food though. Same as anywhere else in Cuba. Bring your own ketchup and spices!

Hotel was nice...The rooms a little dated but clean. Staff was amazing and very accommodating. Food was good when made fresh for you at the buffet. Enjoyed the beach/pool bars. Coffe bar in lobby was fantastic. The beach was amazing. Kept clean. And our kids enjoyed the water activities..paddle boarding and catamaran. This was our second time there.

Playa Pesquero: Good Resort

Group of 14 people. We have been to Playa Pesquero 3 years ago and after looking around at other resorts to go to (only because we wanted to try something different) we decided to play it safe. Go to where we had a great experience before. Upon arrival we checked in at the desk and inquired about a room upgrade as we had been there before (same group of 14) They immediately upgraded us to larger rooms and invited us to a return guest banquet 2 nights later. A good variety at all meals of the day at the buffet. They have a few restaurants and bars in between the pool and beach that have hamburgers, personal small pizza, fish, tapas(finger food you can order multiple plates to make it a meal), etc. They do have a shortage of wheat right now in Cuba so if you want pancakes everyday for breakfast or buns on your burger it’s not going to happen. They always had bread for toast and they made French toast in place of pancakes and I had a deconstructed double burger with fries that was enjoyable. The pool area is very big with different levels of depth for swimmer and non-swimmer and the beach is awesome. Free accompanied catamaran, pedal boat use, other scheduled daily events. Still a good resort!

The Hotel was great been there twice on that same resort with family. Will go back again next year. Food was good the beach was amazing staff really nice and polite and resort nice and clean. Definitely recommend to family and friends.

Grounds were hood could use more lighting in some areas , its huge , Food was great much better than i thought as i have heard for years the foods not good , but not the case here all a la carte resturants were great .

Playa Pesquero: Amazing Resort

The grounds were beautiful. The rooms were very clean, our maid did a different blanket sculpture every day. The food and the restaurants were exceptional. I really enjoyed the shrimp and lobster. Best mojito bar ever. The only thing I think they could improve upon is they need to have more entertainment crew with more activities during the day. They shows were very good especially the show in the swimming pool. All and all I had a blast and would go there again.

Clean & well looked after staff was very friendly. The pool area & gardens were beautiful.many different eating places to choose from. Meet people from all over the world . My wife & I will be going back again soon👍😃

Playa Pesquero: Loved Playa Pesquero!

The resort and staff were incredible! The food was okay, but would have liked to have more variety and selection. Pool and beach were clean and you could always find a lounge chair! Thank you to Mabel at the pool bar for the fantastic pina coladas!

Well manicured grounds everything was awesome!was at smaller resort food was better there sooorry.that was 2 yrs ago. I suggest putting on better deals for single travellers i paid real high price.that was disapointing.

Playa Pesquero: Great Family Resort

The large grounds can sometimes be challenging to navigate with kids but the staff and service was great. Food at the buffet was generally pretty good but I was surprised to see the hit and miss on food quality for the A la carte restaurants. Pool area was great for the kids as well. If you like snorkeling, this beach is awesome. There is a reef close by with many different kinds of fish to view. Overall, great place to take the family. Would go back again.

Everything was wonderful : the white sandy beach, clear ocean, the grounds nicely kept, absolutely no garbage laying around, every worker from groundsmen to waiters, managers, ect... were very polite, amiable, caring, and welcoming. A very clean resort. The food was great! A large array of choices in the buffet restaurants and many restaurants A la carte to chose from. A large lobby to meet up with friends and family. The morning after a large rain storm, we had water dripping into our  [... read more]room in front of the patio door. Immediately upon advising the front desk, we were moved to another Casa. It was a none issue.....nothing got damaged and we ended up in a more glorious room. The staff went out of there way to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction.

been there 5 times now . wouldn't want to go any where else. cant wait till next January . even feel comfortable going off the resort as well . yes I would recommend this to any one who goes to cuba . or any where else .

Playa Pesquero: Playa Pesquero

The grounds were nice. The building we stayed could use some care. The room was okay and clean. The food was not great at most buffets. Trattoria and Romantico restaurants were good.The food was very bland and they have no idea how to make dessert. There is a big shortage of flour, cooking oil and more. The wifi should be included. The employees were friendly. Not sure how much of the tips we were giving would actually go home with the hard working people.

The staff without exception were helpful, warm, and charming.The grounds were spotless, the lobby always active and filled with music, and the coffee car is to die for. The only quibble was the a la carte restaurants that we found to be less than a satisfying dining experience. Otherwise this is a splendid resort. This was our second visit and we will return.

Playa Pesquero: Good Resort

This is our second time to Holguin.. We stayed the first time at another hotel but we feel that Playa Pasquero offers more than the other. The rooms are brighter and bigger. The food is great and entertainment area was completely covered. The beach was clean and nice all the time. Maybe if the guy that offers the beach chairs will be more friendly will be best. I get it that you can tip but not NEED to tip. Overall, great resort, great people.

Playa Pesquero: Lovely holiday

We were favourably impressed by this resort, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was comfortable, and was fastidiously cleaned. My only negative comment is that we did not have a coffee maker in the room due to a shortage. We enjoyed the food especially when you took advantage of reserving at the alacarte restaurants. It is a large resort and entails a lot of walking, there is a bus service if you want to wait, but we enjoyed the walks. It is a challenge to get a fabric lounge chair rather than the less comfortable plastic type. Many swimmers equipped themselves with a snorkel and mask to see the marine life which you cannot see with the naked eye. We enjoyed the evening shows in the Gibaro Theater.

Playa Pesquero: Wonderful vacation

The beach was wonderful! Beautifully kept grounds with birds and many flowering trees. Rooms very basic but clean with a comfortable king size bed. Check in was a little slow due to an arrival of two buses and staff not available late in the evenings. Food in the main buffet was ok We are not fussy eaters so there was always something to eat. Playa Pesquero: Great resort

This was our second visit to the PP. Food and drinks were quite good. If you like lobster you will have lots of opportunities to indulge at the a la carte restaurants.I would recommend the resort to anyone who understands that Cuba is not a foodie destination. I encourage the hotel to stop using them completely. Tourists should consider buying a reusable metal straw in Canada to take with them , as well as a travel mug for drinks at the beach. We found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful and the public areas had sufficient seating for the number of people who were there in January. People reserve loungers on the beach very early ( 7:00 a.m.) , but there were always loungers available and people would share space under the trees if they showed up later. For an interesting night, walk about 10 minutes along the road to the market on Wednesday night to check out how the young locals and tourists have a party (Carnival). It starts to come alive around 8:30 and really revs up later on. Lots of music and dancing. Go and enjoy this resort. Ignore the naysayers.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Amazing time

Had a wonderful time at Labranda Varadero. Management has changed but very good service. The food needs upgrade a bit since the menu is very repetitive. Hotel staff very friendly and very nice. Looking forward to my next visit.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Not impressed

This was our second visit (first visit two years ago when it was called Naviti). Better services, food and drinks first time. Internet working much better this second time. Grounds are beautiful and beach is lovely. However, seaweed was a nuisance as it was not picked up and nobody seem to care. Most of guests were Germans & Russians. Almost no Canadians. Last dinner they were completely out of wine. Staff working hard but no smiles - perhaps because tipping is a thing of the past. Most guest don’t tip at all, not even at the “a la carte” restaurants which I find very surprising. No hot water and no water pressure in the evening. Watch out at the currency exchange window as tellers will not hand over receipts and try to scam you a few CUC. We will not return unless there are some dramatic improvements.
