Good experience

The beach was bad because Dominicain Republic had floods the week before. There were many waves and you could not see ocean floor. Food was good! I enjoyed the japonese restaurant the best because it was very entertaining.

Great Value

Enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar. Our room was clean and comfortable. The food was very good, lots of choice. The beach BBQ and cook outs were also very good. The grounds and lobby were nicely decorated with Christmas lights, very pretty. The staff is amazing there, they are very friendly and helpful.

Iberostar Puorta plata

Magnificent, gorgeous, absolutely beautiful and clean. The staff was the best . All staff: management, chefs, all wait staff, ground staff and room cleaning staff. The English of the staff was very good. The landscaping is beautiful the room has a view of the beach, Every single thing was wonderful. The excursions were fabulous. The knowledge of the tour guides is great, one guide papy has 6 languages. Our trip was November to December 6, 2016. Thank you so much for a great trip

The Best One Yet!

The Iberostar Costa Dorada certainly exceeded our expectations! The grounds were beautifully kept, the food was exceptional and the staff were fantastic! They couldn't do enough to ensure your vacation was fantastic and more. Although it was the first time for us to experience a couple of rainy days it still was our best resort experience thus far. Meh, it's okay

This hotel was okay. Nothing more, nothing less. The grounds were well kept, if unremarkable. The rooms were clean, but basic. The food was great on selection, lacking on execution. The staff was attentive while also remaining distant and uninterested. The beach was a tease to what other beaches in the DR can offer. While there is nothing at all wrong with this resort, we spent our 7 days there constantly saying "Meh, it's okay". Another traveler that we became friends with asked us if  [... read more]we would recommend this resort to our friends at home and it was very difficult to say either yes or no without a laundry list of reasons why. We booked here specifically to be close to the mountainous areas out Puerto Plata in order to venture out 4-5 days of our week. Because of the torrential rains experienced in this area over the last month, this was not possible, so we found ourselves confined to the resort a little more than we had hoped. This is not to bash the resort completely, there was a lot of good here, just not one bit of great that we could identify. Food selection was one of the best we have seen on any resort, there was just none of it that was all that great. The nightly shows had some of the best props and sets I have ever seen, but the performers looked like they wanted to be anywhere but on that stage. There was never a wait for drinks at the bar, or in the restaurants, but trying to find a smile on most of the staff's faces was like searching for a needle in a haystack. I would recommend this resort for large groups looking for something to please everyone, young families and budget travelers if you can get a deal on the price. I would look elsewhere for couples and families with older children.

Iberostar Costa Dorada

Our stay here for the third time was once again great due to the staff. Even though we had rain everyday, the staff did an amazing job keeping the place safe, dry and entertained. Grounds staff were always working hard to clear walkways only to have it rain again when they were done. Bar staff provide excellent service, always ready to serve with a smile. The hotel has lots of lounger spread out around pool and beach area that there was never a problem finding a place to relax. Super hotel

Found the hotel and grounds to be very clean, constantly being cleaned, the Dominican people are so friendly, the staff are so helpful, nothing is to much trouble for them, the updates (pool bar) where good, the food was varied you could always find something you liked, but at times could have been hotter, overall we had a great time, the weather was a plus and we hopefully shall return to this wonderful hotel.

Greatest Vacation

Iberostar Costa Dorado is a wonderful resort. Loved our room (building #5 ocean view), beach, food and service was great. Only complaint is with all the technology and rechargeable items guests carry with them on a regular basis, they MUST get the card reader problems fixed!!! We had to get our card recoded every time we left our room even when carrying NO electronics with us as they were mostly locked in our safe in the room. This became very inconvenient especially at the end of the day when a [... read more]ll you wanted was to go to bed. Otherwise, no complaints and believe me even the card reader issue is resolvable and my husband and I would go back again! Thank you for our first child free / no babysitter vacation!!!

Great Time

Hotel grounds are well maintained. The seaweed on the beach was never cleared the whole week we were there. The beach in front of the hotel is full of seaweed. Service was okay. Food was good. A couple of times I had to wait for food to replenish. There was one guy managing two different food sections. He had to run back and forth between the two sections to replenish the food what I found was a little bit weird. They should have at least onee guy per station.

Beautiful resort

Costa dorada was amazing. The staff from the animation team, to the wait staff and bar staff and cleaning staff were amazing and very welcoming. Hotel was clean and the food was plentiful and amazing. Kids Club staff were amazing with the kids.

Amazing Resort

The staff here are above amazing. Beautiful resort. Gardens are superior. Meals are fantastic, with Sandos our waiter you couldn't ask for better. Evening shows are great, The Lion King and Michael Jackson wonderful. Very large pool, always clean. Beach fantastic with a bit of coral to attract the fish. Security always on the beach. Rooms always clean, Maria was the best. Any problem in the room was fixed immediately. Overall I would rate Iberostar Costa Dorada above a 5 Star level.

Average resort

Although the staff was extremely up beat and helpful, it could not detract from the fact that the resort is dated and in need of a facelift. The food was decent and the buffet had a selection for everyone. I strongly reccomend that you try the Japanese restaurent at least once. The rooms were clean, however every morning I would wake up witha sore throat and believe that it is due to the cleanliness of the AC unit's filters. My major problem was with the pool. It was always dirty. I have been to [... read more] many resorts and never experienced anything like this. There was a continuous oily film on the water and debris that never seemed to leave...almost as if the filteration system was not working. The employees tried their best to clean the pool, but it never worked. In all, for the price I paid, I expected more.

Great resort

We stayed here May 31 to June 7. The hotel is very nice. The grounds are well maintained and the staff are very helpful. The food is excellent though we ate mostly at the buffet and only tried the Asian restaurant. The only place for improvement would be the quality of the beach which had lots of seaweed. Overall, you can't go wrong with this resort, especially for the price

Our favourite resort so far!!!

My husband and I recently returned from a one week stay at the Iberostar and we already can't wait to go back! The pool was huge and had deep and shallow areas which was nice. The food was excellent with a lot of variety, we only did the Mexican a la carte which wasn't bad but we preferred the buffet. The staff always had a smile on their face and did what they could to look after their guests. Our room was spotless and super close to the pool which we loved (7004). The gym was surprisingly well [... read more] equipped, spacious and played great music. We didn't go to every show at night but the ones we saw were really well done. If you are a beach lover/ocean swimmer this might not be the resort for you as the water is pretty rough but there was still people swimming and the beach was nice to walk along. On the afternoon of our wedding anniversary we came back to our room to find a bottle of champagne which was very thoughtful! This was the first resort we stayed at with free wifi and it was great to have when it was rainy- no issues with connection. My only complaint (which is not really directed to the resort) is the local vendor night. We couldn't even look at the items they were selling because they were so pushy and would not accept "I'm just looking" as an answer. I would have really liked to buy a ring or bracelet but didn't because I felt so overwhelmed. Aside from that, I have nothing to complain about! I would 100% recommend this resort to my friends and family and we will most definitely be back :)

WONDERFUL VACATION

The resort was more than I expected. The Pool was large and clean and we were able to get chairs every day for 6. We did not use the beach as it was very windy. The resort offered many areas to sit and enjoy an evening drink and conversation before dinners. We all enjoyed the evening entertainment, as a lot goes into these shows from the band, dancers and singers. What a great effort by all! My young adults ages 20-24 had a wonderful time and enjoyed the two excursions they had taken into town as well. Timing was perfect as the resort was not full during our week of stay. We stayed in building 7, ground floor 7003, 7004, 7005 and they were perfect. Definitely a resort to consider.

We were the party

Wouldn't necessarily recommend for spring breakers but still had an amazing time. Buffet was okay but restaurants were great, staff is amazing and beautiful resort in general! I wish I had done more excursions, the beach was nice but you get heckled a lot

Great experience ! Outstanding staff and services.

The food is fabulous..so much selection and daily comfort foods like at home. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Must do..get a private tennis lesson from Pablo the tennis court convenor. He is an amazing teacher and can improve your technique with even just one lesson but why not take a lesson everyday. It is so worth the 20 bucks an hour. I'd go there again if even just for the tennis.

Lovely resort

Food was good. The Japanese a la cartel was the best part of the trip, highly recommend! Beautiful beach. Nice clean rooms. Good layout. Pool was big and nice, needed a bit cleaning! Best pina colada mix ever! Very happy stay!

Iberostar Costa Dorada

Overall, really enjoyed our stay! If you are a younger student, there are not too many young partiers here. However, the pool bar always offered a good time shared by all ages. The disco on the resort is usually close to empty but the off-resort bar just a minute walk away is very busy (just make sure you have a male with you so you are safe!). Very good service, clean, and an enjoyable place to stay!

Amazing TIME

Went with my best friend to the Iberostar Costa Dorada. We had an amazing time. Always things to do, the wet bar was the place to be. The nightclub on resort was good for pre-drinks.. but the club right beisde the resort was the place to be (kavier). It wasn't live till after 2pm mind you. Food was good, hospitality was great.
