Love the resort and people

The grounds were kept clean and the rooms and restaurants were also clean and tidy. The people are very friendly and are very helpful if you have a problem. The pools and bars were fun to be in. There is lots of activity to take part in and enjoy if you wish. Have been there 3 times and hope to go back in the fall.

Playa Costa Verdes great staff

The hotel is well maintained with an excellent staff, they are the friendliest I have encountered on any other trips. The food was very good and the housekeeping above average. The beach and ocean are beautiful and you are never bothered by anyone selling goods. There are rocks in the ocean but easy to walk around without needing any special footwear. The colour of the water is amazing.

Great staff, Great time!

My girlfriend and I just got back. The weather was excellent. The servers were excellent. Food was decent. The only complaint was lineups.. Seemed to be a bit understaffed, long waits at the pool bar, and beach bar... Only one bartender with 20 people waiting.. I'd still go back anytime.

Awesome vacation

The people were amazing, felt very welcome, as though they were letting us into their homes. Only thing that could be improved would be the cleanliness of the rooms, we had some dirty glasses. But other than that the ressort was paradise!

Good Resort

It was a nice resort, the staff was great, loved the pool it was amazing great size, lots of chairs to choose from. Lots of bars/snack places love to be able to eat at anytime I want good to switch it up, great liquor selections.

A Great Escape

Very well kept - excels in service from serving staff. Excellent cleaning staff, great distance to the beach and access to facilities that are shared between Verde and Blau. Front desk staff are unfriendly and unknowledgeable, but our Sunwing representative and friend Angel was more than helpful in answering all of our questions. Japanese and Cuban cuisine was delectable in terms of A La Carte options, Italian being fancy but didn't quite hit the mark for us. The beach is beautiful, with helpful [... read more] and loving staff to help with beach chair set up - There are rocks, unavoidable along the entire beach once you step in the water. Only sharp in some places, but sharp enough to have you hobbling in barefoot. Nightlife was fairly sub-par in our eyes, we gathered that this resort favours a more family oriented destination than a party hardy environment - not a grave disappointment, we still had fun! Particular accolades to Annia (Lobby bar server - simply amazing, so thoughful, considerate and funny!) and Flacco the resident MC and fun-starter. HIGHLY recommend the Scuba / Snorkeling access - be it on site at the Dive Centre or on the Bay Adventure [Even though our photographer photos from this excursion didn't quite make it back to the resort for us :( ]. Taxi cab Alexis can be spotted in the parking lot in his Black Chevy with a Canadian flag hanging from the rearview mirror, and though English isn't his strong suit, he will go above and beyond to entertain while taking you into Guardalavaca or Holgiun City all for a very reasonable flat rate. He even took us on a mini-detour to see a beautiful hilltop view that his longtime friend resides at and provides food/refreshments. My second time to Cuba and wont be my last.

Fabulous Resort

The resort was very well laid out. The rooms were clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the staff, the food, and the entertainment (when we could stay up). Enjoying the beach everyday - very hot, sunny, and lots of lawn chairs - great beach bar. The swimming and snorkeling is excellent at this resort. The beach is a good walk from the actual Villas or Rooms. Take good walking sandals/running shoes. The pool is great - very clean and good depth. Swim up bar is very busy - they need two or more ba [... read more]rtenders at the swim-up bar!! The Cuban and Japanese restaurants were very good. The Italian was okay, I had expected more as portion was very small but it was good tasting. In the buffet dining be patient and pleasant to the workers and they'll look after you your entire stay. We would recommend this resort to others. In fact, it was our friends who recommended this resort to us and their families have been going there for years. Would we go back - for sure!

Awesome resort

It was our second time to Cuba but first time at this resort. The rooms were spacious, extremely clean and all services were awesome. Food was great , lots of choices as i am very fussy but had lots to eat. The beach was stunning and the only thing that bug me was the hrs the beach bar was opened lol. We are definitely coming back. Please go on the great adventure exsurtion it was amazing.

Excellent

Everything was great. We are return guests and love it every time. The staff is wonderful and always there for assistance. Great time was had! The VIP supper was amazing meal was excellent and so was the entertainment. The shows every night were great. Great vacation!

Great value

We had a great 10-day stay at the Playa Costa Verde. I have had my eye on this one for some time and it came into our price range this year so I finally got to check it out. Staff are all very friendly, although sometimes the service at some of the bars was a bit slow. The swimming here is great except for the giant rock/coral right in front of the beach that you have to walk on to get to the sandy water that is better for swimming. Always lots of umbrellas for shade at the beach!! That was awesome. What I love about Holguin (and this resort) is that the area isn't overrun by tourists and therefore there is a noticeable lack of people begging for money or trying to sell you things. And the staff at this resort never made me feel like they were waiting for or expecting tips. And they were very appreciative of them. This was my favorite thing about them. When our maid (Liliana!) saw us, she came over and sincerely thanked us for the tips. I tipped my omelet lady one morning and she didn't know who had put the peso down and she was concerned that whoever had left it had walked away before she could say thank you. The food here was great! Probably the best we've had in Cuba so far. (no, it doesn't compare to Mexico & Jamaica...but you'll definitely find food to eat that you enjoy.) We went to the Cuban and Japanese restaurants. Both were good. But the Japanese was absolutely excellent. If you go here you must have a spanish coffee from the lobby bar! It's the best I ever had! The rooms are a bit run down and dated. That's never something we care about in a resort, but some people do so I'm mentioning it. I slept like a baby, always had hot water, and felt like my belongings in my room were completely safe with the maid.

My home away from home

Vast changes since last there in 2012. I think this resort just keeps getting better and better every time i go back. I am treated like family when I return to this resort . This is the only resort i have stayed more than once and just returned from my fourth visit and looking forward to returning.

Very Nice Resort for the average person!

Average decor in the rooms (needs new bed linen and pillows) Very clean room, beautiful grounds, lovely pool and beach area, Need to remove rocks from beach water, very accommodating employees, Buffet dining was very good and the other restaurants that we tried were poor. Better nightly entertainment required in the evening. Overall it was fine but will not be going back to Cuba very soon if ever. Thanks Tripadvisor anf Teresa for all your help planning this vacation. Great resort to relax and be entertained

The grounds are well maintained. Big, comfy rooms are located in the 2-storey villas. Buffet food is good and testy with lots to choose from. My favourite is a seafood preparation grill. If anybody is bored of buffet there are three a'la carte restaurants and 24-hour snack restaurant/bar with good offer. Lobby bar has new wood furniture. Every night spectacular dance show or concert can be enjoyed in amphitheatre. Fabulous resort

Our stay was very enjoyable. We stayed for 9 days early March 2015. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with mature flowering shrubs & trees. The Cuban staff were very friendly and the food was good. I would have preferred a beach grill avail for lunches but the buffet & pool side rest were okay. The lobby is one of the most beautiful I have seen with the ivy cascading down to fountain pools below. The birds singing in there early on the morning we left was truly amazing! The beach is fabulous with clean areas for swimming as there are areas with coral - super walks on the beach but the beach chairs are not very comfortable - our king bed had a hard mattress not the most comfortable but we managed. You could not use Wifi unless you bought a 1hr card at the front desk for access & be sure to sign out when done or your time will expire & you need a new card. The evening entertainment was limited & there was no dancing in or near the lobby which we've enjoyed at other resorts but for the price those things can be overlooked - we would definitely go back to this resort :)

Great resort for kids

The food was amazing the service good. The people are friendly. The rooms need updating and so does the pool. That said the pool and room are clean. I would return again plus they have a new bowling lanes across the street for rainy days. This isn't part of the resort but still nice .

Great vacation

this hotel staff was wonderful food was good hotel was clean ! The kids club was great we travelled as a family with 2 children and they had activites for them at the pool and also in the evening for the disco!!

Another good time

Our second year at this resort.. Enjoyed the second year even more than the first.. Clean grounds and the staff were very friendly! We were disappointed with the banking on site as there seem to be a problem obtaining the one peso coin for tipping purposes. Some days nothing available and other days you were limited to the amount they would exchange. Paper money no problem.

Very friendly resort

extremely courteous and helpful staff. Great pool and bar. Great smaller resort with friendly atmosphere. Japanese restaurant was entertaining and tasty.Rooms were spacious and clean. Maid service was excellent.

Beautiful beach

This was our 2nd time to PCV and we were not disappointed. For us, the beach is the main attraction and of course Cuba. We love Cuba and the Cuban people who make it such a wonderful, safe place to visit Food was good - something for everyone. I absolutely loved my daily cappuccino at the lobby bar - delicious. This resort tends to be popular for an older crowd - no night life but that was fine for us. We fit right in! Rooms are a little dated but spacious and the beds were quite comfortable.

Amazing staff & resort

This was my 6th visit to Playa Costa Verde & it keeps getting better...Was there from Feb. 6 to the 13th.....The food, the staff were wonderful... Have booked another trip for the end of March!!!!!! Looking forward to returning :)
