Nice place to go

Everything seems be normal as Cuban. Nice beach, room is ok, AC working well. Food is pretty eatable. Price is good. So nothing to complain. People need to enjoy! Hhhllll Jjnn Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmgffdddfffnnmjkjyrrdvbmk M

Loved it!

My daughters and I just came back from a week at Blau & we loved it. The food was good and the staff was great. I had a problem with a leak with the a/c but they fixed it right away. Lots to see and do and the grounds were beautifully groomed. We stayed in the PLUS section, building - building 28, and it was a great location. Short walk to the pool and buffet. The VIP pool is wonderfully refreshing after being in the sun. I would highly recommend the catamaran/dolphin/snorkelling excursion with  [... read more]the lobster lunch. It was our first trip to Holguin but it won't be our last.

Good resort

Very nice and clean beach, snorkeling, clean rooms,variety of food. Cuban restaurant is good, but Italian I will not recommended. The weather was very nice during the stay, it was only few showers at evening.

Great Resort

I found that the food was better than I expected, and the beaches were beautiful. Our maids were respectful, and the service was great. The one thing I disliked was the sewage system that you could smell on the walk back to the rooms. It was not pleasant to smell unwanted fumes every night back to the rooms, especially after a big meal. Overall I rate 4/5 stars, and I would go back again, but with nose plugs this time!

AWESOME resort :)

We stayed at the Blau Costa Verde Plus from April 29-May 6, 2916. Loved, loved this resort, definitely will be going back! First time my husband and I travelled by ourselves, we loved the fact that the airport in Holguin (Frank Paris International) was small and we were not intimidated in the least. We flew with Air Transat and everything went smoothly (1 hour delay returning back to NS) but we had the VIP Lounge to relax in. Loved the bottled water at the beach (so nice and cold). Loved my omelet and bacon every morning as did my husband. Wish you had a larger variety of fruits, but we managed on watermelon and pineapple. We had 5 a-la-cartes and they were all AMAZING (really enjoyed the Lobster, but our French was the BEST! BEACH is wonderful (don't forget your beach shoes) a small amount of coral to walk through before you can enjoy, but you get to see a lot of fish as you are walking out, I really enjoyed this. We only did one show and this was the five gentlemen that made wonderful music with no instruments, they were beyond amazing. Grounds are okay, but does look like they are adding more to this to beautify, all takes time I guess. All public areas were super clean. Loved the cats and kittens, and was okay with the land crabs (once I got used to them), they are enormous, but each so different and beautiful. Pleased with our room everything worked and had no problems, took us two nights to get used to the beds but we always have an adjustment like that when we travel. Loved our VIP Pool, wasn't crowded and had no problem getting a place to sit and use the pool. Loved the Beach restaurant (our favourite was the french fries and hamburgers, it was the BOMB). ALSO loved the VIP Lounge for drinks, so comfortable and relaxing to go in and have drinks before and after dinner. No line ups for drinks at the beach or pool. Always so gracious when you tip them :). Big thank you all around from all the staff. Always someone on the beach and when I put my hand up to show two chairs they were right there to set up your chair and always cleaned it off. I know this is long and winded, but this resort is marvellous and definitely will be returning. ALSO loved all the security as this was a public beach and we had no problems at all we felt very safe. One other thing maybe when people are checking in there should be better organization as when we arrived people were checking out as well and we were in the incorrect line up :(

Best $ price turned into AMAZING RESORT 41/2

Wow ! Not sure where to start as this resort has everything. When we first arrived our thoughts were this resort is so large . But after the first day we go to know the layout and everything was close together . Check in was very smooth and staff very friendly . The lobby offered a bank , internet (Wi-Fi) lots of seating ,bar (very good drinks) , a store and inside stage . We stayed in the deluxe plus section and I would highly recommend staying in this section. With the Plus section you have th [... read more]e use of a large pool section, a plus lounge and beautiful rooms away from the main buildings. The rooms are very large . The beds are so comfortable and lots of pillows. Well cleaned and fridge stocked daily. We asked for 2 bottles of water and never an issue when asking for anything. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. They have their own little garden on the resort where they grow mint and transplants / shrubs for the resorts use. The resort beach was beautiful lots of shelters , no problems getting a lounger and lots of trees on the beach for shelter too. The trees added beauty to the beach as well. The beach is located in a bay. BUT the only problem with the beach is the bottom has a lot of ref rock. They have sections cleared but I would take water shoes and that would fix the problem. The view from the beach is breath taking. We used the non motorized boats and had fun touring around the bay. Now the FOOD . The best that we had in Cuba . We had the a la carte and the food at them are well worth waiting in line to book. DELIOUS ! The one we enjoyed the most was The Gourmet. The Italian a la cart food was great but the servers was not as friendly. Also when you go to the Italian at lunch time you have to wait to be seated . We seated ourselves and the waiter told us next time to wait to be seated. They should have a sign posted. Also dress code is in effect for the a la carts which I liked.(no shorts)The buffets (2) food was also great lots of choices. The snack bar food was very good as well the fries and club house were our favorites. The pools are very clean. The plus pool is very large and offers different depth levels. The pool has a seating area with jets. There is a baby pool too. The staff at the swim up bar are very friendly . Overall the resort staff are friendly . There is a mall about 10 minute walk from the resort . It offers bowling . We went to an outside disco at the resort and had fun . Entertainment was very limited we watch a fashion show , water show and a kids show . A bit more would have been good .( We may have missed it too. ) Overall we loved the resort from walking the beach , wonderful food , great layout drink and a week of relaxing . We will return and would put this resort on your list to try . We love Cuba for the beaches and the wonderful people . I hope they will never change .

Amazing resort

This resort is amazing, very friendly people, everybody was awesome from check in to check out. We are a family of five with two rooms side by side, rooms were spacious, very clean, everything we needed was right there in the room when we got there, even though we got there around noon, the rooms were already made up and ready for us. The beds were a little uncomfortable but everything else was good, the mini fridge was stocked everyday. Pools are amazing and big and very clean. I would suggest to book the "plus" accommodation since that includes a separate pool and a bar only for people with "plus" band, it was amazing. Food was the best that I have ever seen in Cuba, which included Nutella or peanut butter for the children, excellent buffet and restaurants, they were all amazing food. Beach is wonderful for snorkelling, lots of rocks on one side for your enjoyment of snorkelling, even there is a place for swimming, extremely nice. There is basketball, tennis, pin pon table, table hockey, gym, which is good is you have teenagers. I can literally say that we can't wait to go back.

Fantastic Resort!

The pool, beach, service, and night shows were all amazing!! We had a blast and all of the staff was super helpful and kind. I would also recommend doing a tour while you are there as you get to do some awesome stuff! I would definitely go back :)

We had a great time! Groups larger than 6 beware

The beach is fabulous, and the pools are great. The food was very good, probably one of the best we have had in Cuba. The A La Carts are very good, and the Italian lunch place was amazing. The buffets are just ok. We would strongly encourage the Plus side as you get access to a much better pool, you get 5 A La Cart dinners, and access to the VIP bar, which made incredible drinks. Snorkeling is amazing here. There are virtually no bugs. One issue - we were a group of 9, and this posed some very  [... read more]large problems for the resort when seating us for dinner. They refused to seat at any of the A La Cart's a table of 9. We argued, and argued, but they would not re-consider. When we arrived to our table of 5 and 4 each night, there was barely anyone else in the restaurant, and still then they refused to move the two tables together - very disappointed with this - terrible customer service. Especially since we were there to celebrate a birthday, and couldn't even sit together. This would also be a problem if you have a family larger than 6 people (the most they will sit together). Unacceptable, and this rule needs to be revisited.

Amazing resort!

Great hotel! Lots to do, food was great, rooms were very clean! The beach is amazing, you are able to snorkel right at the resort which was a great feature! We would definitely book another trip back to Blau!

Good time at the Blua as always

For our 12th visit it was as good as the first. The staff was great as always. Went bowling at small venue close by and had a lot of fun and laughs. Some changes for the good and some for the bad, but nothing that would change our minds from going back. If have not tried Blau Costa Verde, try it.

Over booked and no service

After 25 plus trips to various locations in Southern Cuba, this is the worst overall hotel that I have encountered The food and rooms were excellent, however this is the only positive for this hotel - Rooms were overbooked and did not honor previously confirmed bookings. In an attempt to contact management regarding this problem, I was informed several times "no on was available" and the standard response was " Its Corporate policy and these rules are made off site" - Service was poor with only  [... read more]service available with substantial tipping - There were insufficient beach chairs for the guests. Guest lined up early in the morning to reserve the few available chairs. - To many guests and not enough employees. I waited 52 minutes to order and receive a Pizza in the Italian a la carte restaurant. I arrived at 1:10 PM after the main rush, and did not receive the food order of one pizza until 2:02 PM, - Lack of adequate personnel in the only dinning hall led to extensive delays in getting a table, and in several instances the we were forced to set up our own table, and move existing used dishes to other tables. Yes I will continue to visit this area of Cuba, however I will NEVER consider a Blau resort again

Lovely resort

We just returned the end of last week; spent a week there and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly. We were in Block 26 on the top floor and had a lovely room. It was quiet there...did not hear too much of the noise at night. The only downside was that the water pressure in the shower wasn't always good, especially late afternoons. On check out day - very early - we had no water at all, but when I called reception the water came back on a little while later. By Tuesday the resort was q [... read more]uite full and sometimes they would close the doors to the buffet (because it was full) and then let people in again when people left....so it was a good option to go early. The line-ups were quite long, especially in the morning to get omelettes, but the lady did an awesome job of serving everyone. Food was good...something for every taste. The buffet can do with a few more wait staff as they were doing their best, but were so busy. I loved the fruit juices in the morning and wish they had the same for lunch and supper as well. I did not like the coffee that came out of the machine. Loved the snack bar close to the beach; had most of our lunches there...food was good and service as well. We got up very early to reserve a place in the shade on the beach. The beach was nice...we enjoy our walks. The gardens were well kept. Our room was kept spotless and the bar fridge was filled every day with water, pop and beer. Will definitely go back there again.

No regrets....wonderful resort

I have to say that this resort is just wonderful. You have 2 resorts combined together, the Blau Costa Verde & Blau Costa Verde Plus. The Plus section is newer, you have access to a VIP bar, VIP pool & 5 a la carte restaurants. The service is great, the pool & the beach are really nice, food is wonderful with lots of variety. You have lots of variety in food, 2 buffet open for both breakfast & lunch & 5 choices of restaurants to choose from for supper. Nothing to complain about! Great resort in overall

The hotel in overall was very good, we stayed at the VIP section and I must say it is well worth it to pay the extra money. The rooms are very nice with a very comfortable bed. The food was very tasty no matter where you went, this is the best food I’ve had in Cuba. The beach is not the nicest beach due to the random rocks that are under water that you can’t see. Getting beach chairs are a challenge, you must reserve them by 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. at the latest or you won’t get any chairs. I fi [... read more]nd that the animation group could be better as well. Was an amazing resort and cubans nice people

no problems except for the bacon was not very good but rest was beautiful. pools were nice and grounds were gorgeous also people very very friendly too. lots people on the beaches and around the swim up bars were nice too.

A very nice resort

The grounds were beautiful, the food was excellent except for the bacon. It was only ever 1/4 cooked. The rooms were super clean. Very friendly staff. The pools were very nice. It was too hot to spend time on the beach since it was hard to find a spot in the shade so we spent our days at the swim up bar where we found shade.

Great Resort - Great Staff

We had a blast at this resort. It's not perfect and if you are looking for reasons to complain you will find them. While the beach has rocks/coral there are plenty of large sandy areas easy to get to. While the buffet food maybe isn't the best it is still good and there are plenty of options. There is also a pig roast on Fridays that is absolutely delicious. The rooms were nice size and clean/new. We had 3 in a room with an extra bed requested and had no issues. The pools were also nice with lar [... read more]ger seperate pools for kids and adults, each with swim up bars. The best part though was probably the staff. While you may find some surly or less friendly we found several very friendly fun staff at all the different bars as well as at the buffet. I would definitely go back here and recommend going if you are looking for a budget <$1000 vacation.

Good resort for the price

Nice place with Easy access all around. The VIP section Is perfect. The five Resto are good. The beach Is clean and there Is a lot of chairs. There Is a lot to do and there Is an amasing chopping center.

Great resort

My husband and I stayed at Blau Costa Verde in the plus section on March 4 - 11, 2016. The resort and the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The beach was beautiful but beware of coral in the water. The food and drinks were very good. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
