Great resort

The Bachata was great. The rooms were clean, the food was fantastic. The pool is huge. There are always chairs but you have to get them early in the morning. The beach is ok. You will have to wear water shoes, there is coral reef on the beach.

Had lots of fun!

The grounds are beautiful....the staff work so hard! The bartenders are great. The beach is huge.....be careful in the water, it has rocky parts and you can cut your feet. We spent time at the Bachata and Merenge...Diaz a bartender at the Merenge is wonderful and Rayo Back in animation is so good at his job! The beds are hard! Rooms were cleaned well and had towels everyday! the cooks work so hard...omelettes, waffles,pancakes,French toast...so yummy for breakfast. Riu Bachata

this should be rated as a 3 star hotel. It is completely lacking in customer service. Room, no coffee machine, mini-bar gets replenished 'if and when' they feel like it,shower head does not hold upright and handicapped bar restricts access making it about 20" wide.Need ice, no machines available, you have to go to main bar!!! Clean and friendly staff

We enjoyed our stay at the Riu Bachata. The staff were friendly and the check in and out process was easy and hassle free. The rooms were spacious and clean and the grounds were lovely. We enjoyed a couple nights of good entertainment. The food was ok and we certainly would not starve but there was nothing that I would say was extra special! The floors in the downstairs hall became quite slippery when wet! As at all resorts the fight for chairs at the pool and beach were a daily occurrence and the usual 6 a.m line for reserving an a la carte restaurant was an annoyance! All those things aside we definitely enjoyed our vacation!

Clean resort.

We had a alright stay. Our air conditioning wasn't working for 3 days, one of the other rooms our friends were staying in the toilet wasn't working for couple days. We really didn't like the food much really found it hard to find something for our youngest son. Also the air flight with sunwing was awful. On the way coming home we waited for 4 hours we didn't know what was going on why it was delayed all other flights were going out. We spent 60-89 dollars on food. Beach area not good.

The buffet hardly has any seafood to offer, lots of fish however. A vacation resort should always have a coffee machine for cappuccino and espresso, a vending machine is no good. No snacks to be found on resort after 10.00 P,M. Steak house is an illusion, for impossible to book a seat without shelling out some big American dollars to the staff. The ice is made from tap water, therefore causing many people to be sick.

Fantastic Stay at Resort!

The Riu was very clean and well maintained. The staff made our stay so much more enjoyable. Whether you tip them or not, they are all doing their best to make you feel welcome. The resort connected to the beach boardwalk, and had many nice shops to stop at which was nice. Food was very decent and enjoyable for all inclusive. Would definitely book here again!

Great resort

We stayed for a week in January 12-19, 2016. Premises are very well maintained. Clean and quiet room and delicious food at restaurants. Grilled salmon at a-la-carte restaurant is fantastic! Beach is nice, but be careful entering the water, as rocks are everywhere. Please have a pair of swimming shoes. Also you may wish to bring one US dollar bills for tips, as the smallest Dominican Peso banknote at Reception exchange is 100DOP, equals $2.1 US. Nice and friendly staff makes you feel great. Great resort

Loved it... very clean I had beautiful ocen view room. The food was great fresh salads and fruits every day wish was more fish but had different meats and chicken lots of variety...the intertainment is the best so far from other resorts they never stop lots of games the shows was ok but still very intertaining, music every evening for dancing had a great time I would go back the price was great for the value of the resort...

Food is no good

Hotel is nice but the food is awful service is good well maintained grounds. Not enough chairs around the pools beach was clean.sick from the food all the second week I was there I have been to the dr many times first time with bad food.

Amazing resort

i really like the grounds plenty of shade,very clean,great food ,lots of entertainment both day and night . I would recommend this resort to any age.I guess I am a bit biest i have been to this resort 5 times .

Excellent value for the price.

The grounds & the public areas were exceptional. The dinning areas were well appointed, very clean & we enjoyed the out side terrace for supper, & found the food was good as was the selection. The rooms were modest but clean & we had a great ocean view. The pool was excellent, lots of lounges, & ample shade. The overall service was extremely good. The resort manager. & the dinning room manager were always visible, & checking to see if everything was ok.

Ground : Nice and clean. Bar service is excellent. Food is average. Entertainment is OK. Big cockroach found in my room. New beach shoe was stolen from balcony and was reported. I was here the 3rd time. The first two times was very good.

Pretty nice! Beach could have been alot nicer!

The staff was friendly and kind. The food was pretty good. Nice pool and bar. Beach was rocky and sand wasnt that nice. Overall decent resort. The entertainment was not very good. The pools were seperated instead of one big one. The wifi that was supposed to work outside the lobby didnt when we were there. The ppl selling items were VERY bothersome and i had to avoid going into the shops completely.

Very nice resort a lots of Palm trees.

exellent location grounds very clean a lots of green everywhere.what I like the most was the palm trees on the beach and pool area very nice and busy. food ok.always fresh and plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Beautiful resort with great hospitality!

We had an amazing experience at this resort. The staff were more than helpful at all times. The rooms were expressly clean and modern. Cleaning staff was on point and always available. The beds were a tad bit hard but hey, you can't please everyone. The food was your typical resort food. Lots of choices and themed nights throughout the week . The only downfall was that the late night snack bar didn't stay open 24 hours as advertised. It was open until 2 am though. The bar staff was amazing! They [... read more] never under poured . (They weren't shy to make a stiff drink) bonus points there! The pools were great! And the guests were always happy. The entertainment team was always around and ensuring everyone was having a good time! The nightly shows were also great. The only downfall is that it would get extremely quiet after the shows. There wasn't much of a late night nightlife but, if you meet the right people you can make your own party. Overall, great experience and would recommend it to anyone!

Wonderful holiday

We stayed at the Riu Bachata from Oct 27th 2015 for q week. Beautiful room, beach and pool area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A LA carte restaurants were delicious, the buffet was good but a bit repetitive but you won't go hungry there is something for everyone. Only complaint was the vendetta who take over the lobby one day a week, yiu have to pass them to get into the buffet and they are relentless. There are sand fleas or midgies some people call then my husband is covered in bites I have none apparantly some people are allergic some are not I guess I am one of the lucky ones I have since read deet off or tea tree oil keep them away. Great vacation all in all. Oh and the nightly entertainment is pretty good too loved the Michael Jackson show.

Great vacation.

I will make this short. The hotel was good but certainly not a 5 star. The staff are simply amazing all very friendly and everyone has a smile. The wait staff is second to none especially Manolo ( # 1) Lionel and Freddy Cruz. Guest services manager Frederick was the nicest we have met. Always a good laugh with him. The rooms are very clean and also the restaurants. The food was very good and always fresh and tasty. Only complaint would be lack of hot water and air conditioning. But that was only [... read more] twice the other days were great. Also lack of shade by the pool. U have to get up pretty early to get loungers in the shade by the pool. By 8 o'clock they were all taken. But then there the beach which is beautiful. A little windy but nice.

Rooms 100 % clean and comfortable.Entertainment good . Staph was very professional and friendly .Garden is beautiful.Security system 100%.Bars and drinks unexpectation. I am ready recommend this resort.

Terrific Location

lush grounds, cleaner rooms, energetic and polite personnel, delicious dining, people flocked to the rocky part of the beach, enjoyed the nonstop activities on the pool, and of course gazed at the beautiful surrounding hills. Also had a private cable car excursion, visited E&F mountain park, market, castle, museum ..etc All for a very reasonable price ,Sure, it is one of the places I would return to.
