Lovely Resort, Lovely Week

We had a wonderful week at the Majestic Colonial. The weather was awesome. Our room was near the entertainment complex so it was a little loud till about 11 pm but then everything was good. The Steakhouse and French restaurants were excellent. I would highly recommend upgrading to the Colonial Club. We loved having the adult only section at the pool/hotel and we used the Colonial Club room almost everyday. They provide excellent service, special buffet and premium drinks. Wonderful Vacation

I stayed at the Majestic Colonial Punta Cana over Christmas and had a fantastic time. I have been to the DR several times and travel to all inclusive resorts at least twice a year. This was my first solo vacation but I had no issue meeting people or relaxing by myself. I have also never been away for the holidays and I must say the hotel did a fantastic job of bringing Christmas to its guests. We had a visit from Santa via power boat followed by a huge celebration on the beach, stockings (with  [... read more]candy inside) were left in all our rooms, Christmas carols playing and a grand piano player in the piano bar each evening which was a great touch. The rooms were very clean; I was on the ground floor with a pool view and private sitting area and outdoor Jacuzzi which I loved. Only downside was that the foot traffic in the morning and few rowdy people passing by late at night or early in the morning was a bit disturbing. If you are a light sleeper, I would opt for a higher level room. If that is not a problem definitely go with the ground floor pool view, well worth the extra money. Food was decent; breakfast buffet was by far the best and should NOT be missed. Staff were incredible!!!!! The beach is nice, some rough water which is fun if you don't mind being tossed around a bit. Seaweed is a bit of an issue as it comes ashore in large amounts and I assume is hard to stay on top of. Having said that the water is gorgeous, sunsets are amazing and you can walk the beach for hours checking out other hotels in the area. Cons: Beach towels are worn and must be replaced (you can ask the towel service guy for a new one they have boxes but choose to keep the older ones in circulation). Also, only one towel per guest is issued which I think is silly. My toilet leaked all over the floor twice during my stay (just clean water) and my shower roof dripped on me while I was showering. Colonial Club upgrade didn’t seem to be worth the $. If those are all my complaints, and I really had to think of something to say, I would say not too bad at all. I would highly recommend this resort!!

AMAZING AND BREATH-TAKING

Where can I start...the hotel was gorgeous inside and out...simply breath-taking. The food was second to none!and lots of it! The swim up bar (pool #2) in the colonial area was great, the staff was very attentive - they know customer service and practice it everyday. Will definately return! Butler service was an interesting treat too.

Great Resort

The hotel was really nice, there were lots of activities and events throughout the day and night time. Hotel staff and all the bartenders were amazing and friendly. The food was really good, beach buffet was open from morning until dinner and had a good variety, the main buffet was great. Burgers, fries, chicken and onion rings were available late late night at the snack bar. Could get food 24 hours. The drinks were also great - amazing alcohol selection

Wonderful Resort

The resort was wonderful, staff such as Santos and Catherine were friendly, fun and entertaining. It was great having them around. The activities on the beach and in the pool were amazing (i.e. beach party, the fire show, foam pool party, etc....). The rooms were clean, spacious and close to the pool and the beach. My family and I would highly recommend the Majestic Colonial and would definitely return.

Amazing Resort

Just returned from a week at the Majestic Colonial (Oct 23 - 30). Below is a brief overview of our thoughts/impressions 1. Hotel - kept very clean, lobby beautiful, gardens amazing 2. Staff - everyone works very hard to help the guests have a wonderful time, each one of them had a smile on their face and was willing to help you with anything 3. Food: Dinner Buffet was only so-so; French was wonderful (Jenny the hostess is absolutely wonderful always a smile on her face and happy to see you) , Mexican was great, Japanese was great food and a great show; Gourmet (breakfast for Colonial Club members) was great; Steak House (beach area) great dinners and great lunch buffet; main breakfast buffet food was good (Devlin made great eggs and spoke English/French/Spanish very well) service was so-so; Romantic Dinner in the garden gazebo was truly worth the extra money food was fantastic and Edwin our waiter was great) 6. Bars - Juan/Maria at the Colonial Club beach bar were fantastic, Antonio & crew at the lower lobby bar were attentive and remembered what you drank. 7. Rooms - huge, clean and so close to everything

Great!!!

Friendly, clean and always some to do! great beaches!!!!, different to other places,great variety of foods,nice and big open lobby and high ceiling, great pools and beach activities, close to the beach, etc!!

Great Resort, Fantastic Beach

The Majestic Colonial Club met all our expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed the adult section of this hotel especially having the Lounge for snacks, drinks and internet access and an adult pool. However areas where there were families were well planned to suit their needs. We dined at a couple of a la carts but discovered we preferred the excellent buffet presented each evening. Entertainment in the outdoor theatre was professional and fun. Staff from housekeepers to dining were friendly and effi [... read more]cient. Punta Cana has one of the best beaches in the Caribbean where you could sun, swim or walk. We spent many hours relaxing in the sun.

The resort was beautiful.

This was are first trip. The staff was amazing, the resort was very clean, just a bit disappointing in the buffet area, alot of variety but the food was often on the cold side. I enjoyed the restaurants especially the Japanese. The ocean was beautiful. I would go again.

Great Resort, amazing beach

I would like to thank the General Manager for upgrading our room to beach front as me and my wife were returning guests. We brought another couple with us to the Majestic Colonial and had mentionned it when booking through Trip Central. The room was amazing, the grounds were extremely clean and the beach is perfect. It actually sits on a point so no weeds, perfect sand and just off to the left side is a small reef perfect for snorkling. We previously stayed in the main hotel part which was great [... read more] (3 years ago) and this time around stayed in the "Colonial Club" side which, for the small premium, is well worth it. When you stay at the Colonial club, you have a private beach area with full service and beautiful "Maria" serves you cocktails all day long with that beautiful smile and always happy. She makes the guests feel special in that section, the General Manager should give her a promotion. The food is good, not great!

Above and beyond

Our latest trip to Majestic Colonial in February was a total delight. When we checked in, we were told that as 3-time visitors we had been upgraded to a poolside room at no extra cost. We had arrived late and hungry, after the main restaurants had closed, but no problem—the porter who had brought us and our baggage in the electric cart to the room (there was even a banner on our door that said "Welcome Back"!) was kind enough to drive us to the 24-hour snack bar—then waited for us and drove  [... read more]us back to the room! Food, service and amenities were excellent as usual, and we'd have no hesitation in coming back again. And the service at Tripcentral was also above and beyond. We booked at the last minute, and were told that included in the tour package was a $50 coupon to use at the resort for anything we wanted, but it was too late to mail it to us. Again, no problem; when we got home there was a $50 cheque from Tripcentral waiting for us.

Wonderful 40th Birthday trip!

A group of five of women celebrating our 40th birthdays spent a week at the colonial club section of the majestic colonial. We had an amazing time, the grounds are beautiful, the beach spectacular, the rooms were nice. The staff were very friendly and checked in on us frequently, especially Fransisco our butler and Maria from the beach bar. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Maintenance issues

Our room had some maintenance issues, toilet seat broken, light in hallway not working, no plug and insects in the bath, some things were fixed when we asked, some were not. Found some of the staff very helpful, for example when the internet we paid for did not work a staff member let us use his email to contact home. Other staff were surly or rude or ignored us in the restaurant . The pool was wonderful!! The entertainment by the pool at night was lovely, a 3-4 piece band with a singer. Good time resort

The grounds are beautiful with a very large pool.Service at the bars and restaurants was very good.We liked the no reservation policy at restaurants-so we didn't have to plan our time so closely.Nightly entertainment was so-so.

Majestic

Had a good time. Resort is clean, people are friendly, entertainment was good. Would definitely go back if we were to go to Punta Cana again. Flu with Air Transit and it was a great flight there and back.
