Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Grand Muthu Almirante

Another wonderful vacation! We stayed on the Adult side, great accommodations, wonderful restaurant staff and lovely pool with great loungers. Our butler Jack was charming, very gracious and always trying to help with anything he could. The grounds are immaculate on the entire resort.,The pools all look clean and inviting . The buffet and a la cartes were all enjoyable as well.

Playa Costa Verde: Relaxing Vacation

Nice resort with good staff. Public areas and grounds are nice and well kept although the public area bathrooms are often out of toilet paper. Beautiful beach. Food was good, and you were always able to find something in the buffet. The a la carte restaurants were a nice change. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. The Japanese was our favourite.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Very good resort

Excellent beach, no problem with beach lawn chairs. The hotel was clean comfortable. Service was good. Good food, fresh fruit and fruit juices. We would definitely visit again. The only issue was it is an hour away from the airport.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: The best Home-Away-From-Home ever!!

There is really nothing bad to say about this resort except the fact that eventually you have leave! The rooms are large and well decorated and kept spotless. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Don't get me started on the pool! It runs the length of the resort and is crystal clear and inviting. The beach is beautiful and although it is a bit of a walk, the staff will shuttle you back and forth. What can I say about the staff? Well, the staff, in a word is amazing! If it is within their  [... read more]power, they will do it for you. If you have any special needs or just questions, ask your butler and it will be seen to. They are starting to have some great theme nights that are a lot of fun and keep the guests involved. One additional service is the massages ($). You have to try them, they are worth every penny. There are many local excursions ($) available as well. They will pick you up at the front door in either a classic car or a horse and buggy. The choice is yours, and always classic Cuba! Now how about the food you ask? This last trip, I have to say the food was some of the best I have had in Cuba. Large selection, well prepared, well presented and plenty of it. No shortages that I could see. Bottom line, most who try this resort tend to love it and return over and over again. Just do it! You will not be sorry.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Could not ask for any thing better.

This is a wonderful resort. would return tomorrow is possible. Staff goes out of their way to help. Always there for you. Things have changed over the years, but never a bad thing to say about anything. Staff try to do everything they can and make up for any short falls.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Viva Cuba

We've been to Cuba a dozen times in the past 15 years, but were a little apprehensive this year with news of power and gas shortages, lack of basic essentials, and such. But this is a great little resort, very friendly and helpful staff, nice beach maybe 20-30 minute walk from end to end. We were pleasantly surprised by the food, it was ok and we didn't lack for anything. They say the resort has been renovated, but in Cuba style, a little paint here and there, but still a little tired... bed [... read more]s were comfy. There are quite a few stairs from the main hotel area (lobby/pool) to the beach 3-4 flights... so if you are a little weary of stairs and walking, you may find it difficult. If you love Cuba... you will love this place, if you need the extras of the Dominican or Mexico, don't come here... but for the price, it really is great! Big shout out to the staff!!!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Loved our visit

We have been to Cuba more than 30 times. Mostly Cayo Guillermo/Cayo Coco. Once to Cayo Santa Maria. This was our first time in Holguin. After our visit in November to Cayo Guillermo we felt like we may never go back because the food and facilities had deteriorated badly. The people and beach are always awesome there. Food was good, lots of selection, always had eggs and bacon and butter. Lots of snack bar options. Pool is big with swim up bar. Facilities are clean and comfortable. People are amazing as always in Cuba. The beach is a far cry from Cayo Guillermo and super busy but still beautiful for a daily walk and relax. Bring water shoes as it’s pretty rocky to swim. Snorkeling is great right off the beach. Always entertainment happening but if you don’t like that it’s easy to get away from the noise. Overall really great resort. I’m glad we decided to give Cuba another try.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Beautiful resort

Staff are excellent, rooms are nice. No shortages of food or alcohol. The beach is one of the best I've seen. No complaints what so ever except my vacation is over. Xxx̌xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxx

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Fantastic!!!

All I can say without writing two pages is.....we just came back from a week and heading back again in 2 months!!!!! Can't wait to get back down. You will not find a better resort. Bang for the buck!!!

Playa Costa Verde: Amazing Resort

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Nice Resort

We stayed on the Sanctuary side, premium package Pros: Great food - I've never said that about Cuba; Rooms are big; Lots of pools to choose from; You can take long walks on the beach, it's very quiet and secluded; Grounds are well maintained; Easy to get reservations at a la cart restaurants; the a la carte restaurant - le gourmet? is a hidden gem for a quiet breakfast or lunch. They didn't show up until after a few days of my being there. Even after I met them, they were of no help. I never did receive that water and drinks that I had requested for my room. However, my friends' butler was amazing, so I'm not dissing the butler service (just the ones I had assigned to my room). Some of the rooms had a strong musty smell, mine was not musty at all; it's a 2 hour bus ride from the airport. All that being said, the price was right. I would go again but forgo the premium package.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Wonderful resort!

Visit Jan 29 to Feb 5, 2025. We return every year as the resort is well kept & scenic. Huge fabulous beach sprinkled with natural trees. Great friendly service. They serve plenty of good food and drinks, and have a 24-hour restaurant with numerous things on the menu, plus a restaurant on the beach. For those who can’t do steps, there are ramps to the beach and on the ground floor and lobby, as well as a handicap washroom. Remember to take a carriage ride or the bus to the Guardalavaca market, just minutes away. We have visited 11 times, and will continue to come and bring our friends!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Great staff!

The hotel had great friendly service! I was very impressed with Ramon and Williams the butlers assigned to premium class visitors.. They were very attentive and made the trip significantly better.. I cant thank the staff enough for providing such great value for budget.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: My home away from home !!

Club Amigo didn't dissapoint , the staff are all so friendly and willing to help with anything you might need . The food is ok but it's Cuba so you have to understand that and go with an open mind and make the best of what they have to offer . We didn't go hungry by no means !!! Rooms were always clean and very well kept grounds . The beaches are so beautiful and clean . I can't wait to return to my favorite place where they all make you feel so welcomed .

Playa Pesquero: Nice Resort and beautiful beach

Playa Pesquero is a nice resort, rooms are nice and specious, public areas are clean, food and drink choices are limited however you can always find something to eat or drink. Staff is very nice and friendly. What I liked the most is the beautiful beach for which I always prefer to come to Cuba. Overall we had a great vacation!

Playa Pesquero: Top Knotch Resort

This being my first time to Playa Presquero it was a amazing time, exactly what I needed. As someone with a disability and traveling solo, I decided to upgrade to Luxury rooms for not much money extra. It was well worth it. With Luxury you get a personal team(butler's)that takes care of you. You need a ride around the resort call they will personally pick you up from your room and drop you off anywhere you want on the resort. If your sick/drunk/lazy they will bring food to your room for fre [... read more]e. You get 50% off of spa the price was so good I had a massage almost everyday. The staff and the masseuse were a 10 out of 10, they say they have a cold shower but it is Cuba cold shower, I would call it a cool shower. You get one romantic beach dinner for free of lobster, steak, pork, chicken and sides dishes cooked to perfection, you can also pay a small price to go any night you would like, again the price was so good, I decided if I wasn't at a a la carte I was eating there. You get 50% of laundry service, so I got them to wash my clothes, no laundry when I got back home from trip amazing, at way less of a price than I expected. You get a free bottle of rum which would cost atleast $50. Beer, juice and water stocked in your fridge everyday. The butlers brings desert to your room every night. The butler staff was amazing they went above and beyond the service I expected, there attention to details and customer service was incredible 10 out of 10. I have been to cuba 4 times this is the first all inclusive I've been to that is truly wheelchair accessible. I will definitely be back with my family. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing Resort!

I can’t say enough about this resort. It is absolutely beautiful. Spotlessly clean and the staff bend over backwards to help you. The food was great and plentiful. Lots of entertainment yet a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.

Playa Costa Verde: Amazing Visit to PCV

We love Cuba and have stayed at Playa Costa Verde many times. We enjoyed another wonderful stay in January. The staff were amazing as always-very friendly and delivering excellent service. The rooms are being renovated but some are still a little tired looking. Our bed was comfortable but the pillows were a bit lumpy. We noticed some improvements over our visit last year specifically with the food and drinks. The bars had a better selection of spirits and more varieties of beer at the Beer Cor [... read more]ner. There was also a better selection at the buffet-there were eggs every day along with other choices for breakfast. A nice selection of fresh breads, butter, cheese, vegetables on hand for all meals as well. Dinner had the usual premade buffet selections with a roasted meat each night carved to your preference. There were also grilling stations with beef, pork, chicken, fresh fish & seafood grilled upon request. The pasta station was also available and is always popular. There were lovely pastries and cakes as well as delicious rice pudding and ice cream for dessert. The 24-hr Snack Bar had a better selection of foods available this year as well-French fries, fried chicken, sandwiches, pizzas & burgers. They also do breakfast here if you don’t fancy the buffet. We only visited one a la carte this visit-the Cuban restaurant and their food did not disappoint. The beach and pool are always great. Please note, there is a coral shoal near the shore which is great for snorkelling but can make it a little difficult for some. You may want to bring water shoes. We enjoyed walking the beach in addition to our swims. Jorge and the animation team provide lots of options to take part in, from water exercises & volleyball to foam parties. There are windsurfers, pedal boats, hobie cats & kayaks available to rent or borrow on the beach next to the beach bar where Sandra will pour your favourite beverage. Wednesday is Cuba Day when they bring in Cuban artisans, an antique car, Cuban dancers and band and do an authentic spit-roasted pig ready to enjoy in the afternoon. Thursday is Canada Day with poutine, sangria and activities celebrating the many Canadians who continue to visit the resort regularly. Cuba is still experiencing many shortages but the staff at this resort are great at working with what they have & go out of their way to provide you with a wonderful vacation experience.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Amazing beach

The best part of our two-week vacation was the fantastic weather and the beach. PROS: Love the location. Beach is perfect (the main reason we go to Cuba). Nice path to walk along the ocean. Quiet AC, always hot water, no power failures. Personnel at the restaurants/bars were super friendly and efficient. Plenty of wine, beer, & coffee. Public areas were clean and well-kept. CONS: Broken safe. TV in 2nd room never functioned. Rooms had lovely views, but were not cleaned properly. Filthy floor  [... read more]- cleaned only after complaint. Plenty of food, but SAME dishes every day. If only the chef would be more innovative with his meals? No specialty drinks, i.e. pina colada, mojito. What I don’t understand is that, at the privately-owned beach bar next to our resort, you could BUY all these specialty drinks? How come they had the ingredients? Irritating smoke in common areas. Guests pay no attention to the “No smoking” signs and smoke anywhere they please. The WORST part and the ONLY reason why I would not return to this resort is: Too much annoying LOUD MUSIC & talking over the PA, which starts around 10:00 AM, and continues throughout the day, sometimes well into the night, keeping us awake and making a relaxing vacation impossible!

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Paradisus Rio De Oro- Nature Paradise

If you are looking for a lovely winter escape to a quiet nature paradise Paradisus Rio De Oro in the Holguin province fits the bill. This is the second time we have visited this resort and this time we returned with a group of friends. We were pleased with the quality of the amenities (fabulous beaches, snorkeling, pool, gym and hidden coves), the food, great a la carte restaurants, bars and our rooms- especially those corner suites.
