Hotel Emporio Ixtapa: Clean, decent accomodations and nice staff

The hotel is older and somewhat dated but the rooms were very clean, the housekeeping staff did a great job. The bed was comfy but a lighter duvet would have been nice. A/C worked well. We didn't do the all-inclusive but had dinner one night, a lunch and breakfast on our last day. The food was good. Next time I think I'd opt for the breakfast plan for convenience. The grounds and pool area were nice and there were plenty of chairs and beach towels. Check-out was extremely slow, they could defini [... read more]tely improve on this. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and always had a smile. I would stay there again.

Hotel Emporio Ixtapa: Beautiful Resort and Area

A small lovely resort meant for my 8o year old mother and myself. Very accommadating with her needs. We loved the pool and the beach was the nicest beach I've seen yet! The only thing I found difficult was communication. Not many spoke much English and the area only takes Pesos not Canadian or American money.. Otherwise a great vacation!

Azul Ixtapa Resort: Large family resort with lots of daytime activity

Past Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa by the Playa Linda beach so at least half an hour from the airport. Resort is very clean with lots of daytime activities for all age groups. Gym, climbing wall, kayak trips over to Ixtapa Island and lots of bikes to ride . We had a king bed room with a balcony but had to pay an extra 2000.00 pesos for that. Fridge in the room but no drinks in it. You get 2 large bottles of water in your room every day but you only have to ask to get more. Water pressure and air con . very good. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to try to assure you get what you need. Pools are large and well cared for as are the grounds surrounding the resort. Entertainment at night was better than most resorts. They had a local dance company put on shows every night at the Forum which is about a 5 min walk from the front lobby and inbetween the Azul Ixtapa and the Azul Grand. They share the entertainment venue. Beach is a let down as the dark clay like sand is easy to walk on but not for kids to dig to make sandcastles. There little plastic shovels were no match for the clay llike wet sand. The only shade is from a long tarp canopy with lounge chairs lined up in two rows and side by side under it. No palapas. Pool nearest the beach is the 'noisey' pool with loud music and activities and a swim up bar. We opted for the 'upper' pool which was a little quieter. Walk along the beach to the pier [5 mns] and take the boat over to Ixtapa Island for 50 pesos. Food was ok in the a la carte's but the buffet food was not up to much. We have had better in Mexico and were dissappointed in it. It was clean and plentiful but catered more to the mostly Mexican clientele. Breakfast at Colours is best as there is a toaster and you can get fried eggs or omellets and bacon for breakfast. Lots of fruit also. Try room service for club sandwich and fries , quick and very good. No fries at the buffets. Veggies anywhere on this resort always cold even when in the chaffe dishes. Crocodile natural swamp habitat is on right just before the pier and you can see them lying in the sun a few feet from you. Only a chain link fence seperates them from you. Make sure your little one doesnt put their hand through the chain link fencing! Good clean family resort with childrens water park and playground.

Hotel Emporio Ixtapa: Great location, but lots of room for improvements

The hotel is in an excellent location, that's gotta be the best thing about this experience. The check in system could be improved, especially when they know that they have clients arriving. A specific check in for those arriving early would have been great. Fortunately there are better restaurants outside of the resort, Condimento is convenient but could definitely have an improved selection. Hotel Irma Zihuatanejo: Fantastic Hotel

Our experience at Irma was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating , we asked to change rooms and had no problems. The views were spectacular, pool was great. Food was very tasteful. It was a very relaxing place to stay.

Azul Ixtapa Resort: Great resort!

The food was very good and the service was absolutely amazing. We have been to several other resorts and the service here was better than anywhere. The rooms were spotless. The only thing that could be improved would be to have a "quiet" pool without music or anyone yelling into a microphone.

Tesoro Ixtapa: Ixtapa is Amazing

The hotel is nice, very clean, and the staff make the hotel! Everything is very well kept, security is very aware of what is happening and working all of the time to make sure guests are looked after. Wait staff on the beach were fabulous!! The buffet was ok - the a la Carte much better, but I don't come her for the food. I go to Ixtapa for the weather, the beach, and the fact that you can walk almost anywhere you want to go here.

Presidente Intercontinental: awesome holiday

the hotel was great centrally located on the beach and across the road from entertainment, shopping, restaurants. The food at the hotel was typical Mexican the breakfasts were the best. The staff was great as always not my first trip to this hotel. Note the ocean is not swimmable most times high waves, but a great beach to walk.

Azul Ixtapa Resort: Great place for kids

Lots and lots for little kids at this resort which was great as it was a trip for only grandma and 3 yr old grandaughter. we had a blast..would definately stay here again if travelling with children. Bufet food was so.so. but restaurants were great

Presidente Intercontinental: Outstanding Resort

The Presidente was excellent, the food was very good and the accomodations were very comfortable. In fact, probably the best bed I have ever slept on in Mexico. The service was unbelievable. We are already planning our next trip back to the Presidente.

Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort: Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort

The management did everything possible to enhance out stay at this resort - I have been staying at 'all inclusive' resorts since 1994 and have never had such outstanding customer service - the resort layout is very well planned with 3 pools and an elevator system to access all pools - this is very unique and brilliantly planned out - with full access to bathrooms on pool levels. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, roomy and kept immaculately clean along with full ocean views - the balconies were [... read more] very spacious and we enjoyed the feature of being able to eat our breakfast every day on the balcony of our room. This is something I have never been able to do at an all-inclusive resort. This hotel and the outstanding 'people care' that was given to us is definitely worth returning to (something I never do) - I always go somewhere new every year - but want to bring all my girlfriends - 8 of us have been going to an all inclusive every year for the past 14 years and I can't wait to bring the group here - one of the girl's in our group is handicapped and this will definitely be a 'no brainer' for her.

Azul Ixtapa Resort: best i have been to except!

everything was great. food excellent, grounds well kept, pools great,staff great, lots of activities for kids and adults. what I did not like was kayaks or bicyles or catamarans only were available through tours booked a day ahead, you could not take them out on your own. the other more serious problem was the air conditioners had a mould smell and if you have ashma like I do I had to shut it off and get a fan and sleep with the balcony doors open. that created two other problems, the noise till [... read more] 1 am and the odd mosquito. next time I will book the grand Azul as it is newer.

Posada Real Ixtapa: Not so great

Dissappointed with the resort. Food was the same everyday. No activities or entertainment. Only one restaurant to eat. Couldn't swim in the ocean the tide was too high. Our room was old and not very well kept. Air conditioning was loud.

Azul Ixtapa Resort: Great Resort for a Family Vacation.

I visited Azul Ixtapa with my husband and my almost 2 year old son. The hotel is fantastic with exceptional service and great options for kids. There is a great waterpark for children, a play ground and numerous Disney characters and shows. My son was so excited to see Mickey Mouse in the flesh and I had no idea that the resort offered those types of services. The characters perform in both English and Spanish. The hotel also has an abundance of high chairs, cribs, and flotation devices. If you [... read more] have any food allergies or restrictions, the buffets are on the small side but the staff do their best to accommodate all needs. The food may become a bit repetitive depending on food allergies and preferences. The service was exceptional. Our flight was delayed and the hotel created lunch boxes for all of us and delivered them to our room to ensure we got something to eat. They also provided a crib when we arrived, changed the bed sheets at a late hour when my son wet the bed and cleaned my room early to ensure that our room was clean and available if my son chose to take an afternoon nap. The views are also great and you can watch the sunset every night. My room did not have a balcony but the window opened up completely so you could still hear the ocean and see the grounds. The flight was longer than expected. We had a delay both ways and also flew into some head wind. Total flight to Ixtapa was 5 hours 40 mins and the return flight was 4 hours 20 mins. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend this resort to families.

Park Royal Ixtapa: Clean resort

The beds were hard and the bathtub was the size for a child could not fit in it. The tv was the old style 27 in. But the food was ok and the complex in general was very clean excellent service. Especially the one fellow in the moby dick beach bar( Antonio).

Presidente Intercontinental: Great Vacation

We were very happy during our vacation. The food was excellent, and the service outstanding. This was our 7th vacation in Mexico and it ranks as one of our best. Ixtapa is a beautiful area and we will return.

Krystal Ixtapa: Great location to beach, shops and restaurants.

Great value for your money. Right on the beach. Every room has a beautiful ocean view. Lots of shops directly across the street. Very clean and safe. Short bus ride to Zihuatanejo well worth going for the tacos. Will defentily be returning.

Presidente Intercontinental: Fantastic Time!

The staff make this resort great. Everyone was friendly, accommodating and personable. Older resort, but clean and well maintained. Get the room upgrade to be closer to the pool/beach. Rooms in the "tower" aren't renovated and some are not so nice. Buffet gets old after a few days, but the a la carts are really good - and no lining up for reservations - you can go as often as you like! Transit is awesome - take the bus for 10 pesos and see Zihuatanejo. Playa Linda is also a short bus ride away - well worth the trip!

Barcelo Ixtapa: Good value and pleasant

Grounds, pools, etc. were fine. Dining areas clean, tidy and well managed. Food occasionally disappointing. Great staff - very pleasant and helpful. Room quite good, showing age a bit, especially in bathroom; could have been a bit cleaner.

Barcelo Ixtapa: Outdated resort in an amazing town

We had a wonderful time at the Barcelo Ixtapa! The resort was outdated and the buffets were definitely lacking. The bars were virtually non existent. But the service was amazing, the views were gorgeous, and the area was spectacular!
