Firstly, the transfer to the resort was prompt and smooth. There was no heavy push to sell. Yahoo! We were warmly welcomed by the resorts bell hops and front counter staff. The overview given, of the amenities, was both clear and helpful.
Our room was simply appointed but clean. A lightbulb was burnt out, over the washstand and our toilet loved to continue to run. ( It seemed strange to me that that would not have been dealt with! In such an arid area as this)
However, a simple flick of the pl[... read more]unger would end the wasting of precious agua.
Room service was excellent! The maids greeted us warmly and kept the room tidy and spotless.
The food at the resort was good.
The buffet offered much choice, especially at breakfast. That is when we ate. It was somewhat of a necessity to dine there early, as it was where you had to make reservations for dining at the sole a la carte venue. The waiters, at all of the locations were friendly and their service was outstanding. Two of the standouts for us were; Sotchitl and Dolce. These two went out of their ways to make your dining experience pleasurable.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the entertainment staff. The shows were put on by a minimal crew. The dancers were excellent, but the announcer was brash and repetitive, as were the pools entertainment staff. The same routines were boisterously blared out day after day. The music was annoyingly loud as were the staff’s comments shouted out. Not impressed!
The resort’s beachfront was kept clean. Although the water was not swim able, due to dangerous undertows, the beach offered miles of walking pleasure.
I witnessed a baby turtle’s struggle to get to the water’s edge and several marine displays. We were given shows by: whales , dolphins and sea lions. Frigate birds and pelicans dove into schools of bait fish. Osprey , egrets and gulls frequented the nearby estuary. At the boca ,or mouth , of the estuary local fishermen cast their nets, with great success! They caught several bait fish and quite a few larger fish. The smallest of these were offered up to people casting nearby.
We rode the “chicken buses†into both nearby San Jose and the further Cabos San Lucas. Local inhabitants were accommodating, helpful and friendly.
San Jose was only a 20 minute walk from the resort. The town is filled with high end art shops and good eateries. The pace here was more laid back than at the frenetic Cabo. Cabo was a typical hawkers paradise. It seemed that everyone there was on the make. The hard sell there was prevalent. Not my style!
All in all, we had a relaxing , rejuvenating stay at a very reasonable price.

Royal Solaris: Royal Solaris
I thoroughly enjoyed this resort. The staff are so hospitable and courteous. The food was very good and I had all types of delicious drinks.
There are elevators so no need to climb a lot of stairs. You aren’t able to swim in the ocean here because of dangerous undertows, but the pools are great.
It was nice to have free wifi in my room and in th3 lobby as well.

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos: Treated Us Like Family
The hotel had splendid views to the ocean and the property was well maintained by staff. The food at the restaurants were of high quality and the alcoholic beverages were made with brand name liquor. The servers were attentive and pleasant, everyone at the resort was nice and welcoming. The staff treated us like family, and did not push us for tips. The pool closer to the ocean was heated, while the larger pool was rather cold, but there was enough space to swim around. Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos: New resort - still some work to be done
We stayed at the hard rock Los Cabot for 10 days during new years. Good and bad thing about this resort.
Good- the people... amazing! Rios at the front door was our favorite and go to person! Always made sure we were okay and always came over to say hi when we were passing by. Luna at the pool is an amazing sweet girl, always was there to make our baby laugh, she was so good! Lolonsky in the buffet was so friendly, always came and said hi even when he wasn't serving us! Theresa at the front de[... read more]sk made our check in quick and easy.
Food - was so so, for the amount you pay to stay at hard rock the food should be a little better than what it was, however still pretty good.
Cons- the pools are absolutely freezing!!! We went in the hot tub (which was semi warm) 2 out of our 10 days... the pools are so cold it was impossible to take our 10 month old in them. When your going to an all inclusive you are expecting to be in the pools most of the day - this was not the case here...
We booked with the photographers for family photos. Booked 5 days in advance. We were told to meet them by the pizzeria at 930 am...by 10 am no one had shown up, we went to the photography desk and asked the guy there why no one showed up and he said "no one told me" .... We then had to reschedule for the following day (annoying to say the least as we had got up and ready and planned it all around baby's nap times)

Royal Solaris: Royal experience at Royal Solaris
Where do I begin? Such great memories from Dec 30th to Jan 6th!! Starting with the ease of booking at trip central ably assisted by the knowledgable and wonderful Nicole, to airport shuttle in to the shuttle out, our stay at this resort was simply awesome!! Prior to our departure from Vancouver, Miriam at the travel desk at RS ensured that our pick up shuttle at the airport was on time!(ensure you talk to the very pleasant Miriam for all your transportation needs while at this resort!) The check[... read more] in process was simple and easy, well greeted by the staff behind the desks and then smoothly transitioned into the very capable hands of Ronnie at the conceirge! Ronnie is a great addition to the RS team! He was very pleasant, warm, always smiling and funny, all at the same time! He ensured we understood everything as regards the resort and its facilities, discount coupons, events for the New Year and also gave us a tour of the RS club membership. We already have a time share in PVR and know what it means to weave through a team of Time share sales sharks!! However, Ronnie and his time share counterpart, Alfredo were not pushy at all and very very respectful of our time and decision.
Overall, it's been a great experience here at San Jose del Cabo in general and at the Royal Solaris in particular!!
The only downside we experienced was the dining experience at Marco Polo and Pancho's restaurants. The food my wife got served was not what she ordered from the menu but was altered and served without any prior notification. That kinda ruined the dining experience on two nights but from a total experience point of view it was simply great to be at this resort and get pampered and spoilt for 7 nights with the All-inclusive package!!
RONNIE TRULY MADE A GREAT DIFFERENCE WITH ALL HIS EFFORTS TO ENSURE THAT WE GOT ALL THE TICKETS AND SEATING TO ALL THE EVENTS!!Truly meticulous and a people's person!
Go RC go!!

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: A 5+
this hotel is def. a 5*.....the rooms, buffets, and grounds were excellent.....the grounds keepers were maticulous.....even though you were advised not to swim in the water due to the undertow, the wave-watching was totally unbelievable...I was fortunate enough to see a few sightings of whales from the grounds and the release of baby turtles...the resort was only 35 minutes from the airport...
My only qualm was that due to the high tides, the beach itself was hard to walk on..

Breathless Cabo San Lucas: Overall Very Good!
Beautiful setting in a perfect location. We loved our location as we were close to the city, bars and restaurants.
Thought the rooms were above average, check-in and check-out experience was smooth and seamless. The staff at
all the restaurants and bars were friendly and always will to go above and beyond the call of duty - however the service
style is very much 4 star and not 5 - simple examples they would serve you bottle of water at dinner and not bring a glass -
sounds little but impo[... read more]rtant. Food variety, taste and quality was again very good. Pool entertainment was fun, loud and just
amazing - kind of place if you like to fun and enjoy music. Overall very happy - will go back! Thank you to the team that made

Royal Solaris: Annual family vacation
My family and I decided to go to Royal Solaris in Los Cabos this year for our annual Christmas vacation.
PROS:
The grounds are very well kept and clean.
Very nice resort.
Snack bar options; pool bar, sushi bar, ceviche bar and pizza bar.
Directly on the beach.
Pool is nice.
Room was comfortable.
Easy to make a la carte reservations (call “0†every morning at 9am)
The adult pool is behind the buffet and very quiet and has a nice huge jacuzzi.
If you have children, they have a ki[... read more]d section (water park).
Location is convenient - you can take the city bus which comes in from of the hotel. We took an Uber with was 3-4$ CAD each way.
Los Cabos is very safe and the locals are friendly.
Lastly as the spa was expensive in the hotel, I walked across the street to Live Spa for a 25$ usd massage for 30 mins and it was great!
CONS:
There were 2 nights with no entertainment (tuesday and sunday)
The lobby had an outside live band a few nights in the week but otherwise it was not very live at night.
There was a DJ every night at 10pm in the lobby with a dance floor but NO disco. I found this to not be fun as there were families out all night with their young children and nobody danced.
I did not find the pool entertainment team very great (compared to resorts in other countries) I didn’t even know any of them by name. Also they did not have many games near the pool.
I did not mind the buffet food but my parents found it to be repetitive and not great options.
The pool was always packed with children.
I enjoyed Zai - Japanese restaurant lots of options.
Brazilian night at Rodizio my parents did not enjoy as the meat was dry.
Italian night at Marco Polo was not great the pasta was bland.
French night at Marco Polo was delicious - the salmon was amazing !!!
URIEL in the buffet you were amazing THANK YOU so much for serving us daily and always smiling. You are such a great person.
ROBERTO (bell boy service) you are wonderful. He was always smiling/making us laugh and was able to assist with any questions we had.
NOEL best lobby bartender.
MARINA best beach bar bartender - always made the best margaritas !
PS did an excursion to Cabo San Lucas to do a boat tour to the arch which was 50 USD for 4-5 hours including transportation, tequila tasting and free time! Highly Recommend it. It was with Novotours - booked through Our air canada representative at the hotel.

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Decent resort but, right on the highway!
This a decent resort when it comes to pools, restaurants and rooms. It is however right on the main highway so the front of the hotel along with the front entrance/bar and some of the buildings are very loud all day and night.
Also, we were disappointed at the fact that beach volleyball was only 1 hour per day, there were no nightly shows and 5he kids pool wasn't heated which made it tough to use for the little ones.
All in all, this was a 3 -3.5 star in our opinion and not a 4.

All staff friendly and work hard to make sure everything is okay for you.
Rooms and Restaurants and pools were always kept clean.
The restaurant off the lobby doesn't get enough publicity. It was by far the best food at the resort and the head chef checked on us...wish we would have tried this one earlier in the week. Great easy walk to everything and the local bars and restaurants.

Solmar Resort: Amazing quiet family resort!
I recently traveled with my 1 year old and fiance and got the all inclusive. We got the one bedroom deluxe room which was pretty much a private apartment! 1076 sq ft with a kitchen, living room, master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a second main bathroom! It worked perfectly with sleeping arrangements; my son needs his own room with white noise....so we stuck him in one of the bathrooms which we blacked out. The hotel had a crib for us and even stuck it in the bathroom for me before I arr[... read more]ived. Excellent customer service and all the staff are beyond friendly. The only negative I have to say is that it's not a buffet setting for each meal; so there is a wait. And u have to sign a bill for everything even though you arent charged. They will chase u down if u forget to sign a bill lol. It's more of an annoyance really then a negative. You also arent allowed to have food sent and/or taken to your room unless you pay for it....luckily we got away with it due to having my sons bedtime between 6-7pm and wasnt able to enjoy supper with my fiance outside of the room, the staff allowed it but made it clear it wasnt allowed. The waiting for food, signing your bill each time and not being allowed to take food to your room (as in you can't order food and have it wrapped to go) are the only things that would bother a person but doesn't change the fact that we will be visiting again because the positives outweigh all that when travelling with a baby!

Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos: Excellent Stay
Food was at the top compared to other resorts I have been at. Very clean grounds / rooms. Staff very friendly and the resort was pretty low key with respect to noise. I did like the intimate evening entertainment of guitar players / singers by the fire pit versus the big show productions. Would definitely come back.

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: A Los Cabos experience!!
This was a beautiful well managed resort overall. The staff was very accommadating and catered all your needs. The grounds well manicured and clean.
The food at all the venues was excellent and served with very friendly staff. It is hard to pick out the best restaurant but The Grill and the Ayami were standouts for sure.
Our room was great and ocean view is well worth it.
Loved the service by staff at the pool and beach special mention, Erika, Ivan, Sacorro, and Manuel.
The sports team was g[... read more]ood and lots of fun.
The entertainment was great live band one night and Mexican another night was excellent.
I suggest a well placed poster board of events would improve attendance. We found it sad that it wasn't as well attended as it could have been.
I would definately reccomend this resort to our friends and family.
The Baja Pennisula is just excellent!!!!

Great resort. Really good food and service. The pool area is large and kept well. Lots of lounges. Great drink service around the pool as well. Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Delay nightmare
We had a rough start to our vacation on December 1, 2019.
When we landed at the airport our Air Canada Representative was late which caused a lot of confusion for travellers. Then, when she finally arrived and checked our documents, we boarded a bus where we sat for almost an hour….no idea why, other than for the driver to sell beer to the passengers at $5 American per bottle. (There was also no Air Canada Representative available, at any time, at our hotel to assist with our concerns and wo[... read more]rries).
When we finally arrived at the Royal Decameron hotel the hotel staff had no idea why we were there.
The staff member could not find my name in their system anywhere, and after making a bunch of phone calls, with negative results, made me “hold†a room for a night with my Visa card, even though I had all of my paper work with me. The “ hold†was for a total of $306.50, posted to my bank account.
Not only could they not locate our reservation, they demanded photo copies of our passports even after showing them all of our documentation. This is extremely concerning to me as no one should be taking “copies†of passports and keeping them. I requested they be destroyed once the proper paperwork came through, which they said they would do. I have no way of confirming that actually happened. I am always extremely concerned of fraud and identity theft both here in Canada and when we travel as I am a government employee, who deals with fraud cases involving identify theft on a daily basis.
My partner and I travel frequently and have never faced anything like this. One of the reasons we chose this trip was for the amazing flight times provided by Air Canada. Our plan was to be on the beach and enjoying the beautiful weather by noon. Instead, due to all of the unnecessary hold ups and reservation issues, our actual vacation time was delayed for several hours.
Although that may seem unimportant, to us, it was extremely important since our last day at the resort we had to catch our bus back to the airport at 8:00 a.m. ….
I have no idea what went wrong and at what level of the booking process our information was delayed. All I know is that this is not how I wanted, or expected, my vacation to begin.
On Dec. 2, 2019, our second day at the resort, we met with the front desk at 11:00 a.m. in order to see if they had our paperwork come through. There we waited again for approximately 45 minutes for them to finally tell us all was in order. The $306.50 was reimbursed, which has not been confirmed yet as it is still showing as pending in my account.
On a positive note, the resort itself was lovely. The staff was amazing, the resort very clean, and the food was excellent. I have zero complaints when it comes to that. I would definitely recommend the Royal Decameron to my friends and family and would easily give it a 4.5 star.

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Left disappointed
This was our second trip to the Reflect Krystal Grand in Los Cabo’s, and our expectations were high as we received great service the first year we went. We stayed in deluxe accommodation which is on the far side of the resort closer to the main road. Our room was clean, but the refrigerator never worked even after having it replaced and reporting again that it wasn’t working. The shower head needed fixing and we had no hot water. This was fixed within 24 hours. We frequented the adult pool a[... read more]rea, and the beach cabanas were free last year, but this year we were told you had to rent them for $149US a day for 2 people and included premium alcohol. The pool side service was slow, some days it took up to 30-40 min to receive your beverage. The Rissotto Restaurant served good food and for the most part service was good. When asked for a premium beverage they served a non premium alcoholic beverage and tried to disguise it, then went to another bar to get the alcohol when questioned. The buffet was ok, but food was not replenished quickly. A good thing was the weather was awesome and there were chairs available around the pool.
