Riu Emerald Bay: great place

this is our 6th or 7th time to this resort the staff are amazing from front desk to maintance they always have a smile and a hola the rooms are clean as a whip ex. view. elevators are not as bad as people let on. the food has a great assortment if you go hungary here its because you are hung over.

Riu Emerald Bay: Stunning

Well this hotel was more then we expected. The service was spectacular, the food was fantastic, so much to choose from, the resort was always clean. The bar tenders were very attentive. The staff was always so helpful. And then there is the room, well this is by far the most SPECTACULAR the views were phenomenal. This resort is a MUST. In Room bar, hot tub out door hot tub on the balcony made this a very stay hard to beat. For the suite I would suggest this as a must. Beautiful please , very clean ,nice beach, swimming pools nice , the staffs was very helpful and friendly, the was good, the bed was very comfortable, very clean clean room where we are located was perfect. We had wonderful time. I will recommend this resorts to my to anyone to friends and family

Riu Emerald Bay: Under Construction

Loved the food, loved how clean it was, loved how service for issues was resolved immediately. But the 20 minute wait for elevator got to be too much. We had to walk down 11 floors regularly. The number of children under the age of 5 created noise levels at the beach, at the pool, in all the bars, and at the dining area. Then waking up to a jack hammer every morning, the last straw.

Riu Emerald Bay: Family Friendly

Because I have stayed with RIU before I had very high expectations of the Emerald Bay in Mazatlan, however I wasn't overly impressed when I got there. The rooms were nice and clean, the staff was excellent and I loved that there were multiple pools to chose from. The food was okay, however it was the same thing in both buffet restaurants every single night without fail. Be prepared to wait up to 10 minutes for an elevator, they are impossible to get onto and the construction of the new elevators [... read more] going in was so noisy. I will definitely stay at a RIU in the future but will switch up locations.

Riu Emerald Bay: Beautiful Resort

The RIU Emerald Bay is a clean, well groomed resort. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Room was clean and the beverages and water were re-stocked frequently. We had heard complaints about the elevators being slow at times and were pleasantly surprised that this was not the case. I guess if you are in no hurry to get anywhere (and why would you be on vacation) then the elevator issues would not be evident. Beautiful beach and pool areas and the sunsets were gorgeous from the 18th floor. (Just a side bar on the elevator issues: they were working on adding new elevators while we were there).

Riu Emerald Bay: Great Spring Break Vacation

Just had a wonderful spring break vacation with my whole family at RIU and we absolutely love it! The hotel is a solid 4.5 star! Great food, clean rooms, beautiful ocean view(in every room) and excellent beach! The service of the hotel was very good and all of the staffs were kind and helpful. The drinks at the bars taste amazing. The temperature in Mazatlan was always nice in spring(about 26 degree all the daytime). We all love our stay and had a really unforgettable time there!

El Cid Resort Castilla: Wish I was there!

Love this resort, have gone a few times and you can rely on the fact that the food is great, the service is top notch, the entertainment rocks and the pool staff are friendly and inclusive. Location is safe, never felt uneasy walking the area. Had kids and seniors with us and both had a great time, good for all ages!

El Cid El Moro Beach: Resort just OK

The El Sid El Moro tower was great in itself. Our room was excellent and the staff always helpful and friendly. We I didn't like the fact that before we were able to go to our room we were given information re a presentation we were to attend the next day. We explained that we were not going to be able to travel again for health reasons but the individual would not take no for an answer. We slept in and missed the time for our presentation the next day and told them it would be wasting our time  [... read more]as well as theirs but they insisted we go the next day..We went and explained again our circumstances and finally they capitulated and asked if the $100.00 US could go to the individual who was going to give us the presentation . We said yes.. We were not impressed with most of their meals and they didn't come close to the meals we had enjoyed at the Royal Solaris in Cabo.. We went to the one restaurant one night that you didn't need to make reservation for and found out it was way over in the far corner of the other building.. My husband can not walk far before he is in a great deal of pain so it was very difficult for him to get there and back. We noticed that the restaurants that you needed to make reservations for were half empty but we were told if we hadn't made a reservation we couldn't go in.!! They re playing loud music in this restaurant and before we finished eating the started a bingo game. Not what one wants to hear while eating. .When enjoying the sun while sitting around the pool but were inundated with loud music followed by bingo. That we did not enjoy! Available lounge chairs are difficult to find unless you are down at the pool early.. We also would recommend that individuals going to El Sid for the first time be given a list of what is included in their all inclusive.as it is very confusing. One night we returned following a night out with friends and my husband needed a snack as he is diabetic.When I ordered from the room service menu I was told we were not entitled to that. We were able to receive our order though when I said we would pay for it when it was delivered. We spent most of our time visiting with friends we had made while staying in Mar-A Villa RV park over many winters. We did appreciate that we could get a Canadian as well as a few American channels on the TV.

Resort was well maintained, service was amazing and the food was great. The beach was very clean, all of the pools where amazing and very clean. The bartenders had a vast knowledge of specialty drinks which was very impressive.

Wonderful staff food was excellent had a great time would stay at el CID again rooms were clean ocean view was beautiful lots to do in town all around loved mazatlan first time there would definitely go back

this hotel just keeps getting better and better. One feels like you are really wanted here service wise. The food is great the hotel is extra clean and it seems like renovations and maintenance are always ongoing to make sure everything is in good shape.

Riu Emerald Bay: amazing resort

The resort itself is very nice. The front desk staff was extremely helpful, especially Elizabeth Vega and Alejando Zamudjo! Thanks for helping us! The entires stay was perfect. Only downside was the ocean conditions, too rough to swim, and we new that going in. Many thanks for the most relaxing holiday!

Riu Emerald Bay: Relaxing family retreat

Very well kept, great buffet with lots of food and great features every night, pools were clean with plenty of room to swim or lounge, kid pool was a bonus! Beach was huge and beautiful, drinks were fantastic... premium liquors at every bar. Great security always felt safe!

WE HAD a great vacation tks to everyone hope to be back next year. Everyone was really great,service and housekeeping ty.We had a relaxing vacation.the activities at the pool were great,the music was not to loud just perfect

El Cid Resort Castilla: Will Return Next Year

Just got back from a one week stay at the El Cid Castilla. Overall it was a very good vacation. The pools are great! There is one pool that is mostly for adults, and another with waterslides and cliff jumping which is better for kids. It was the usual all inclusive vacation where you had to reserve you pool chairs by 8:00 in the morning. This wasn't a problem for us as we were travelling with a toddler. The breakfast buffet satisfied us every morning with lots of fresh fruit and the beloved omelet bar. Lunch was also fairly good, but the dinner buffet was lacking. We talked to a few other people who said the same thing. But don't let that deter you, there are some great restaurants to take in in Mazatlan. I would recommend booking the ocean view rooms. We travelled with friends who were in a poolside room. The ocean view room was bigger, we had more closet space, more vanity space, a tub and a shower, a nice counter when you first walked in for ocean side toys, so you didn't have to bring sandy things into the room. Also very important were the height of the railings and the width of the space between them. If travelling with a toddler, make the upgrade to ocean view just for this reason. The railings in the hallways and balconies of the poolside rooms were very dangerous for small children

Riu Emerald Bay: Solid 4 Star Resort

I travelled with friends in January. The resort was very clean and the staff quite friendly. The room was spacious enough and the air conditioning worked very well. The water temperature and pressure in the shower fluctuated from time to time. The beds were hard but normal for an all inclusive resort. The mini bar was restocked every other day. The views were beautiful from our balcony on the 10th floor. The elevators can be slow and fill up quickly. That being said, the longest we waited was  [... read more]maybe 5 minutes. The food in the buffets were mostly great with good selection. The Asian restaurant was not my favourite as the sushi wasn't good and full of cream cheese. The same sushi could be found in the dinner buffet. The fried, more Chinese food, at the Asian restaurant was good. The Mexican restaurant could have used some music. It was very quiet. The tortilla soup and fajitas were pretty good. The beach was beautiful but could be a bit rough. The vendors are on you as soon as you cross over but listen when you say no thank you. The adult pool was the warmest pool but also the loudest. There was one pool that was too cold for me to stay in for longer than a couple minutes. There are bar carts that go around and some drink service on the beach. You do have to get up and go to the bbq or restaurant for food during the day. On the weekends, there are a lot more Mexicans who vacation at the resort. Some people seemed annoyed. I found the people added a lot more fun to the otherwise empty disco. Overall, this is a great resort that I would visit again.

Truly spectacular. Can't wait to go back to the Riu Emerald Beach in Mazatlan Mexico on my next vacation. The people there were extremely friendly and the weather there was fantastic. Absolutely no regrets
